Want to get rid of KingRoot - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated my Z1 Compact from 4.4.4 to 5.1.1 using FlashTool and a Stock ROM
I then searched for the easiest root available and it seemed to be KingRoot and it went fine... the device was rooted quite fast.
But then i read from other people that KingRoot installs all kinds of crap - and i noticed that too
I couldn't install SuperSU or make it work so i just wanted to get completely rid of KingRoot again..
I found a SuperSU KingRoot remover using a Terminal - but that didn't work
So now i've Flashed the device again and factory reset it + updated to latest 5.1.1 ...
So now is the question :
Is my device clean of KingRoot ??
how to tell ??
Thanks

Maybe too late, but the best thing would have been to install recovery once you were rooted, then you can use recovery to flash a whole new system with su instead of KingRoot. If you want to root again with KingRoot, you can try that. Once you've rooted, install recovery, and download a prf or other stock based rom zip file that has su included, then boot to recovery, wipe everything, and flash new rom.

Also check this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65004634&postcount=2

this is exactly what i tried... but some of the files couldn't be deleted and i got like 30 warning messages that KingRoot couldn't start...
I wasn't confident that everything had been removed - especially not when i could find KingRoot files and folders all over the system afterwords ??

Which TWRP did you use?
I flashed 2.7.0.1 but when i try to boot to recovery I get the white screen with the red warning at the bottom, and "booting into recovery" in pink at the top, but then it fails and reboots to normal system.
not working
i think chain fire didn't release root for 5.0.1....
if i knew that, i wouldn't update to this android
Works fine on Nexus/GPe devices so must be an Sense thing
Rooted my M8 with S-ON and bootloader unlocked.
I installed first openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.3
Then entered recovery mode to install SuperSU (latest version)
worked fine.
Did have a WiFi issue, no sure why, but after factory reset problem was solved.
Didi have also the facebook messenger lag problem when in app sound was active.
I just went back to 4.4.3 in the end and installed the viperone Rom and have to say i am impressed

You may want to download a root checker app to verify. If it wasn't root properly, I would re-download the SuperSU zip and install it once more.

My guess is the given app is not compatible with Lollipop.
Try a couple other apps that require root access; e.g., root file explorer.

mmmm, maybe you are right, coz checker is ok, other some apps needs root works fine, like root explorer, aptoide, busybox, but xmodgames

[ROOT][LP][UB/LB] 1 Click Root for Xperia ZL Lollipop Locked/Unlocked Bootloader

Hi, i have an Xperia ZL with Locked Bootloader and i tested it and it worked, no need to flash anything, just go in your mobile browser to https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B28tGmPEAKnOeGhkemVTZlAtMk0/view?usp=sharing, download and install the apk and run it, it will do allt he work for you, i have experienced some reboots but some minutes after my phone goes completly stable, it will install a task killer called kingmaster and the root manager called kinguser, you can uninstall kingroot and kingmaster and just need to keep kiguser, super user and super su doesn´t work but with kinguser installed i have completly root acces
UPDATE: In my first post i posted the direct link to download kingroot from its website, but it was downloading different versions and not all of them are working fine, so i uploaded the correcto version to my google drive, it works perfectly, the version 4.0 is in chinese and doesnt work, but version 4.1 is in english and works fine
Can anybody else comment on this ? I've read shady details about kingroot from other threads but some of it may not be up to date.
I think this method doesn't really works, Titanium backup don't get root access by example...
You can indeed get root using this method, but will need to change it to SuperSU before attempting to use Titanium Backup.
I don't recommend it
can I unroot the phone afterward for warranty service?
Why you dont recomed it Oliver?
Dandy, i have been using titanium backup perfectly with this root method, just open king user, revoque the root acces to titanium and open titanium again, it will prompt you for root acces and then it works perfectly
Dlslith, there is no need to change to supersu or super user, i think this cannot be done
Atisho, i dont know a method to unroot Xperia zl on android lollipop, but im interested too, i will be searching and trying

Yes, the Kingroot method does work (you need to have internet access). I have used it to root my Z1, but it is generally considered a "Risky" way to root.
If you need it done fast, it will work. Most people recommend taking the longer process of downgrading to an earlier version, using a root tool that installs SuperSU or Superuser, then installing a recover, and finally installing a pre-rooted version of the ROM you want / need.
The reason that king is considered risky is that part of the root process requires you to have web access and the app sends the phone IMEI number to some unknown IP address in china.
Is that all that Kingroot sends? unknown
What can / do they do with the IMEI? unknown
What else does king user do if the root is sending your IMEI number to china? unknow
Use at own risk. I really was having trouble with my Z1 after I tried to install a rom but it was corrupted and I lost the recovery and root.
I used Kingroot to get root access, then used the root to install a recover, then did a clean install of the full ROM I wanted.
groot to get root access, then used the root to install a recover, then did a clean install of the full ROM I wanted.
Does anyone know which exploit kingroot is using to get root access?
Hi,
I tried to root on Lollipop using Kingroot, It installed root, then I tried to switch the Root Manager App to SuperSU, In doing this I uninstaled KingRoot, KingUser and all other apps and tried to update binaries with SuperSU which obviously failed.
Now the problem is such that - KingUser is installed as a system app and also the su binaries are loaded. When i type su command from the Terminal i get the following error:
[-] connect ui: timer expired.
Unable to root with any known technique
I have also tried to do a system reset but kinguser still persisted.
Is there any way to wipe /system clear and flash a ftf to start from a clean slate and try rooting again.

Either downgrade to Kitkat using TOT/KDZ and LG Upgrade Tool or if you want a one click method and trust Chinese downloads, then download Autorec and root package from:
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1o6YpUsE
Use password: rjte
Navigate to one of the folders which has kingroot app, which roots temporarily and then use autorecmm app for D858HK. This should downgrade bootloader to Kitkat, install TWRP, downgrade modem to compatible version and flash bumped MM boot image. Of course, permanent root with SuperSu will be there as well.
If you prefer DIY methods then there are a few other posts by me and @topet2k12001 which should be helpful.

Hi, you must install KingRoot latest version and Beta Super su 2.5.2. After this you would have enabled administrator permission.
In case of failure the update binaries in SuperSu, you must again install TWRP apps in order to install the custom recovery ( the latest version is 3.0) and finally, you must install the Supersu file (from recovery) in version 2.52 (is the one that works best on android Marhsmallow).

root is the problem, I am not able to root my Phone, I tried Kingroot, but no luck,
You must install to KingRoot in latest version from its official site. Then run the application and leaves that the process is complete. In the end, the application will show an error message indicating that it has not been possible to establish root on your phone. You should try to at least three times. If the error persists, install the application root check and verify if the root permissions have been granted.

Is there a root method for the Sprint LG G2 on Lollipop?

I bought a Sprint LG G2 and it's on the latest software (Lollipop). I tried using a few root methods, but every single one has failed or stopped in the middle. Have you guys tried anything that works?
I faced the same issue and after research on many forums I found that LG G2 received 3 updates in Lolipop ZVG >>> then ZVH >>> then ZVI if you want to root you have to go back to ZVH or before. I rooted my phone on ZVH with Iroot , it is the only method that worked for me,
I am not well experienced I am just telling you my experience with the G2 , I hope somone post a positif solution to this.

yes..for zvi rooting you have 2 methods..one is free another will cost you 3 bucks from the app store.
the free method:
1. Root using KingRoot.
2. Use AutoRec to install TWRP.
3. Download latest flashable zip version of SuperSU and copy it to device.
4. Go into KingRoot settings and choose "Full unroot" which will uninstall KingRoot and unroot.
5. Uninstall Purity app installed by KingRoot.
6. Reboot into TWRP Recovery and install SuperSU zip file from step 3.
7. Reboot and run SuperSU, it will say binary needs to be updated. Select Normal method. It should work.
8. Reboot when SuperSU has finished updating binary and profit.
the 3 dollar method ( one I choose) :
root via Kingroot ( downloaded from their website ) and then replace kingroot with SuperSU using SuperSU-ME ( 3 bucks ) from the app store.

You may be confusing flashing supersu in a custom recovery, with rooting your phone. There are a number of steps you have to go through before you can gain root on the Verizon Note 4. Flashing a custom recovery will not root your phone. You have to first follow the steps here, before you can flash a custom recovery, then flash supersu, in order to gain access to your root.

Try flashing the supersu zip in your custom recovery, instead of installing it through the app store. You also have an N910F, this thread is for N910V. You'd probably get a more accurate response if you posted to the N910F thread.

Manually flash SuperSU 2.79 (or later) if you are prior to 7.0.1 at this point systemless root becomes necessary .....and I don't know man . I have it working on 7.1.1 but it came loaded I didn't have to install ....hmmmm I'd start at chain fires web site see what he says . ignore anything involving cfauto root unless u achieved root by this means in which case u r in the wrong forum

So I have successfully restored my note 4 to 5.1.1 not im going for root and a custom rom. ill keep you updated.:good:

When you flash supersu it does install app and binary  see if u got to the point u could flash from twrp it would signify you are on unlocked boot loader. Without unlocking root will only persist til reboot then process would need to be repeated. The only way to fix this is to be able to mod the boot IMG which requires developer mode to be enabled . this is notable by the presence of an unlocked lock on the first splash screen (secondary program loader splash)
