How to install OTA-Updates with TWRP recovery installed? - Huawei MediaPad M2

I've a M2 10.0 Wifi and a TWRP recovery installed. Not my Device announced an update which cannot be installed because TWRP is installed instead of the stock recovery.
So how can I temporary re-install the stock recovery?
TIA

If device is rooted usually its not possible to do ota updates. Only way to update rom from recovery

What i have done:
- reflash stock recovery via Fastboot command (extract original recovery with huaweÏ extractor from original ROM zip)
- remove SuperSU
-download and install OTA
- Reflash TWRP via Fastboot command
- Reflash SuperSU
-Success!
you can find original ROM here:

Thanks for that. Should I make a "flashable zip" or the .img is fine ?
Which profile is fine for our M2 ?

Just extract "RECOVERY.img" from the Chinese ROM and flash it with fastboot command before OTA update. Also remove SuperSU before OTA. Then reflash TWRP after OTA..

[Q] Update to 4.2.2 without USB

Is there a way to update to 4.2.2 using the stock .img from Google without USB? (Due to water damage) I would like to keep root too.
I was thinking to use Bluetooth to send boot.img, system.img, radio.img, bootloader.img and SuperSU.zip to /sdcard then use MobileOdin to flash them but unsure if it'll work.
Current state of Phone
Rooted stock 4.1.1 with latest TWRP recovery
Any ideas?
What's preventing you from downloading the new Rom via WiFi? Then flash in your recovery, or am I missing something here.. Are you trying to update to the latest 4.2.2 OTA? You can run ADB over your network, I personally would download the Latest CM10.1 and be done with it.

Sorry for not making it clear, yes I want stock 4.2.2 also need to update bootloader and radio, my new plan is this:
1) Download system.img boot.img JDQ39_radio_bootloader.zip (which I found Here) and SuperSU.zip
2) Using Mobile Odin Flash system.img and boot.img
3) Boot into recovery and flash JDQ39_radio_bootloader.zip and SuperSU.zip
4) Wipe
That should work right?

[Q] Back to stock recovery?

I have a Nexus with UNLOCKED Bootloader, TWRP recovery and root.
Can I back to stock recovery and stay with root on my Nexus?
Only flash recovery stock, how can I do it?
Thanks in advance.

You can have root and stock recovery
You can find a mini guide to flashing stock recovery in this post

In the download section of that post you can find the stock recovery for the version you need

I found the recovery stock here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
While flash this recovery (from file ROM), the root will not stay on device?

If you extract just the recovery from the image zip and flash that, root will stay. If you flash the whole thing, root will be gone.

Only recovery image zip, so my Nexus will stay with root & unlocked bootloader?
Stock recovery will possible to get OTA from google?
To flashing recovery image zip, copy file recovery.img to storage device and running command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"?
Thanks
If I am reading what you wrote correctly, yes to all your questions
Root needs to have been installed using SuperSU v1.55 or above for ota to work.

Root

If I am on stock recovery and unlocked bootloader, is it possible to root my phone without twrp by flashing magisk zip in stock recovery?

No. Stock recovery will only flash images & zips from OnePlus.
Stock recovery only works with officially signed files from OnePlus.
If you already went through the trouble of unlocking the bootloader then flashing a custom recovery is very easy and straightforward. Otherwise you might as well relock the bootloader.
Theoretically it is possible with MAGISK (even with locked bootloader) but it didn't work for me...
Steps:
1. Extract the boot.img from stock rom zip
2. Patch with Magisk Manager
3. Rename the patched one to boot.img and replace in stock Rom zip
4. Flash the zip in stock revovery
Unluckily I finish with a "Installation failed" error
Did anybody managed this with 5.02 rom and locked bootloader. I got told that for older stock rom it was possible

No, no, no...
What you do is that you let the Magisk Manager patch the stock boot image (as in 1 & 2 above). Then you use fastboot to flash the patched image to your device. No custom recovery needed...
Code:
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
Your bootloader has to be unlocked though.

With fastboot I also tried without success. As you told, it is required that the bootloader is unlocked.

Can a global rom with twrp and rooted be updated thru ota?

I've unlocked bootloader of my chinese redmi note 5 pro and flashed a global rom on it then updated to global v9.6.3.0, after that I installed twrp thru adb and root with magisk. Now, will I be able to update this to a new global version thru ota?

Is there a workaround to do so?
You can comeback to recovery stock or download update file to storage , boot to twrp then flash update zip. After update , masgik will not work

So the official update zip will work on twrp? I thought it's not possible on a custom recovery. Anyway I'll try that, thanks.
Work fine. But if you flash full rom , not update pack, all data will be earse , mi recovery comeback.

Updating MIUI on unllocked device with custom recovery

Want to update my MIUI from 11.0.2 to 11.0.3 (EEA).
Will updating be as simple as flashing the newest .zip from twrp recovery?
I tried flashing the latest version with mi flash but got a rollback error (for some reason).
Thanks

*Place your rom folder in c:/ and mi flash will probably succeed without antirollback error.
*Yes you can flash the zip that is meant for recovery flashing through TWRP. Simply flash it and don't forget to afterwards delete /system/recovery-fromboot.p in order that your TWRP will not be replaced by the stock recovery.
