Cannot send or receive mail messaging photos or HTTP links - Huawei GX8

Purchased this dual sim, GSM, unlocked GX8 from Amazon March 2016. Unable to send or receive photo attachments or paste a http link in any messages. One exception: WhatsApp. When using WhatsApp, I have no problem sending or receiving. Just updated my APN info with service provider. Must be a setting in the phone that I have not set right. Any help here?

Sending a text message to an email

Sometimes for work I get a text message from a mailing list when a server goes down. For some reason I am unable to send a text reply to the email. Is this something I have to do something special for? I have always been able to do it on my old phones (non windows mobile).
that's a carrier feature. You'll have to call them. Probably the old phones were configured for your carrier.

can we be more specific? I'm having a hard time following you.
You get a SMS message from work? or an email?
is it sent to the SMS address on your phone or as an email?
When you reply, are you sending a SMS or an Email? what is the address type that you are replying to?
The devil is in the details....
When the mailing list sends out the messages it sends it to something like my phone number @txt.att.net however when I go to reply with a text message (sms) to the email address that the message was sent from it gives me an error saying "The text message account cannot be used to send email messages"

ok... you are using the email to SMS gateway.
you cannot text message to an email address from your phone.
You can MMS to an email address, try it that way
HOWEVER, if the sms you receive has sending address of a bunch of numbers, it can reply back to the original sender using the sms to email gateway that AT&T (or others) provides.. just reply.. do not change the address.
AT&T is my carrier and I send SMS to email addresses everyday. The email recepient sends their email to me and it shows up in SMS format. When I flashed to a Schaps Rom, I could not do it anymore, so I flashed to another rom (k's 1.30b) and it works just fine. It's a pretty handy feature to have. I am not sure if it is a carrier feature, but I do know not all roms let you do it.
That must be what it is. I am using the TNT rom. I will try another.
Try this one

Exchange Email

Hi all,
I am having problems sending attachments via my Exchange Email.
I thought maybe this had to do with file size so I checked my MMS registry settings (assuming exchange email is tied to MMS ???).
I see in there Wap1SendLimit 1 = 1223680 (1195k), Wap1SendLimit 2 = 204800 (200k), Wap1SendLimit 3 = 307200 (300k), Wap2SendLimit 1 = 1223680, Wap2SendLimit 2 = 204800, Wap2SendLimit 3 = 307200
So - I tested it by trying to send .jpg of various sizes. I started out by trying to send a 184k .jpg file - so below ALL of the above mentioned limits.
IT WILL NOT SEND!!! ActiveSync gives me the "Attention required" message, when I click that it says:
Result:
One or more e-mail messages were not sent. Please delete the messages that are still in your Outbox and then create and send them again.
The only email in my outbox is the one I mentioned above.
I have no problems sending emails without attachments.
I am on Verizon.
Only thing I can think of is maybe it has something to do with my Company's Exchange Server (2003) - but even this doesn't make sense to me as 184k is quite small !
Any help is GREATLY appreciate as this is very annoying. On my old crap Samsung Renown I could at least take a picture and send it to someone...
Thanks,
Ryan
I have no definite answer for you, but every weird issue I have come across in Outlook on my phone is due to Exchange policies set on the server. Is it possible your mail team has disabled attachments from mobile devices?

RR Send Error Messages

I am not able to send emails from my Road Runner email account. Am getting 530 and 535 error messages. I can receive emails fine. Contacted RR and they gave me the correct outgoing server settings. Authentication still failed when sending a message. Tech said that is weird that the outgoing authentication will not recognize my user name and password, yet the incoming settings do because I am receiving emails. Was sent to a 2nd level tech. Still couldn't get it to work. He said to contact Samsung because there is something with how Samsung configures the settings. I called Samsung but email techs are not there on the weekend. Is anyone else using RR email and able to send messages? Or if you had problems sending email and resolved it, how was that corrected? Thanks.
I'm in SC and Roadrunner here does not allow off network use of their smtp server. So in short unless you are sending from a Roadrunner ip address it's going to reject the connection. Maybe that is your issue as well?
I got around it by using gmail as my outgoing mail server. You can go into your gmail settings and there is an option to show the email as sent from Roadrunner rather than gmail so if people reply the email will come back through your Roadrunner account.
Road Runner in my area allows mobile access to email. The outgoing server is mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com with a dedicated port number. Using the mobile protocol, I still get a failed message that states "requires authentication." Surely others are using RR email on this phone. Would be great if someone using RR could provide some feedback.

Help with MMS message with Google Voice via KitKat

Help with MMS message with Google Voice via KitKat.
I recently upgraded to KitKat.
Now I can't send out MMS messages with my cell phone number..
Before KitKat I would usually just open Handcent and the MMS message would send out over the cell number instead of GoogleVoice.
Now when I'm using Hangouts, Handcent and others. My MMS messages are not going out. The phone is using GV to send it out..
Anyone have a resolution..
I figured out my issue..
I have two google accounts and the google account that was NOT associated with GV was chosen.
I would have thought it would still have sent the MMS message via my cell carrier...
The weird is that I was still receiving GV text messages...
Oh well, it's working now..

Any one having issues with picture mail ???

When I send mms messages to some people they only get half the picture or it just says no image ?
Mines been working perfectly. I use hangouts for SMS and MMS messages so it merges with Google chat, but I've had no issues yet.
