Hey guys, new to XDA, I'm in the market for the Oneplus 3 and want to root it when I purchase it. My question is: What version of Windows do I need to be able to root the Oneplus 3? Or can I use a Chromebook? Like I said, I'm new so I dont have much expertise when it comes to this! Thanks.

EDIT: Never mind, I saw you added that it can work on any device. Will try this.

[Q] Bodhi Linux

Hey XDA,
do any of you know if this is supported yet? If so does anyone know how to install it. I tried to look it up to no avail. I was also thinking about doing the steps on their website to install it but did not want to brick the device and was confused on whether the device is a 32 or 64bit system.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry, it is only for the 2012 Nexus 7, I believe.

Kali Asus TF300T Native

Hey guys! I am pretty new to a lot of this rooting and custom ROM installs. I recently picked up an Asus TF300T from a friend at work which i have root(the easy part). The reason why i was looking into this or even a laptop was because i wanted to start tinkering with pen testing with Kali Linux. After a lot of research, trying to retain what information i could, i have found there is an image for Kali for armel. This brings 2 questions to mind that i cannot find the answers to. 1 - Even though the CPU on my Asus tablet is ARMv7 will armel images work? From what i have found, i would want to use an armhf image to flash to the device due to the version of the CPU. And 2 - Is there a distro(i have been unsuccessful finding one) that has the drivers required to make a smoothing working environment? During the course of my research into this issue, i have found there are some distributions of Ubuntu that currently work with my tablet. More specifically Ubuntu Touch(i think?). This got me thinking, since both Kali and Ubuntu are both Debian based distros(i could be wrong, please correct me if i am) could i take the section of the file system from Ubuntu Touch that has the drivers for my tablet that allow it to work correctly and replace it with the section of the file system for the ARM image of Kali? I should mention that i have been able to get Kali to install and run with Linux Deploy. However, i feel it is slower than i was anticipating. And all the tools are there, they just do not open for some reason. Which is a whole different issue that i haven't figured out yet. I was hoping that perhaps one of you may have an idea if the two questions i have posed will work, or could maybe shed some light on how to go about accomplishing what i am trying to do. Or if any of you know of a version of Kali that will work on my tablet or maybe even one someone has already built for this particular model. Any guidance, tips, or knowledge on this subject will be very much appreciated. I understand going out and buying a laptop or a tablet with an image supported on Kalis website would be the ideal and most efficient solution, but i have a bad habit taking the hard way to gain some more information and knowledge haha. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and thanks in advanced for any responses .

Windows 10 on x551ml

Hello, guys!
Before everything I want to state that I'm not a developer. It's just an idea, which I came up with.
First of all I couldn't find anything about the zx551ml, only about the ze551ml, so I wanted to create a way to install Win10.
After unlocking the bootloader and root you can use the Linux Deploy (Play Store). With that you can install Ubuntu_x86, which is a x86 based OS (there's also an ARM version, but it won't work, I guess). With that you only need to enable the Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT), after that you just need to install VirtualBox. Please don't kill me for that, I just really want to create a way to install Windows 10 on the Zoom. If it's impossible this way, please tell me what is not possible of that, but again, please don't kill me for it. I haven't got a Zoom yet, but if this works, than I'll get one.
Thanks.
Windows 8 works fine under qemu-kvm, kernel from BORETS_ROM-2017.06.25_2 (include kvm.ko and kvm-intel.ko), you can run same things as on ze551ml.
Found this http://www.alltechfeed.com/install-...d-mobile-tablet-dual-boot-change-my-software/ but i would be carefull could be scam. Virustotal.com has 2 positives but tons of people claim it works (on youtube but could be bots).

Rooting Redmi Note 8 on Manjaro Linux?

Hello everyone,
I am looking to root my Redmi Note 8 however I don't have a Windows computer.
How could I root it on a computer running Manjaro Linux? Has anyone had a similar experience?
Hi there, you could try to take a shot at this
https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/
Still have to test it, but the developer claims that it works on Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
Lemme know if it works 'cause I'm planning to go on a Manjaro only machine soon
