maxxaudio on OxygenOS - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I am wondering, if any of you use maxxaudio on OxygenOS. Yesterday Iflashed MaxxAudio-CM13-_ahmed_radaideh-STABLE-v3.1.zip and it worked great. But today I was not able to get it to do its magic again. I reflashed it, and works again, but I am wondering if someone investigated more or can point me to working version for OxygenOS.

I only used ViPer4Android as a sound enhancer. Therefore the SELinuxMode has to be permissive instead of enforcing. There are apps where you can change this like SELinuxModeChanger.
Maybe Maxxaudio changes this while flashing, but it gets reset every time you reboot your device. Had this issue in the past, it may help in your case.

Second post, and someone is already hijacking this thread. Why?!

Hey, How about installing the SEmodechanger app and using MaxxAudio? How was the Output and Quality after the mod? I tried installing Viper4Android but faced bugs like Slow Phone, Crashing Process and No Audio Output

Is there any audio mod working for you?

Hey guys,
I'm having some trouble trying to install some audio mods on my OP3 which is currently running RR with Blu_Spark as Kernel, but I had tried pretty much all the audio mod I'm going to mention on stocks ROM and Kernel
So, the only one that I can make work is V4A, whenever I try to install either XTREMEMusic, DivineBeats or BioHazard I get nothing, like I flash the mod and no files are added or If they are (only in stock ROM) they won't work at all
I don't get any error on TWRP, bootloop, sound error ... just it won't work
What is strange is that FreedomOS actually have DivineBeats preinstalled
Can you guys tell If I'm doing something wrong, it's a bug or I'll have to stick to V4A?
im using A.R.I.S.E. audio mod. its working perfect with freedom os
It´s because of the systemless root method for oxygen os. At the other threads there are all described with a system root. This is not possible for oxygen os atm and thats the reason why no sound mod will work with it. You have to switch to a custom rom to get it working.
I´ll wait for cm13 or cm13.1 for our OP3 to get it working. Hopefully
Edit:
Hmm i have to correct me. This shouldn´t be the reason. I´ve seen that the FreedomOS has systemless root too. So ill get along with you and your question why doesn´t any sound mod work with OxygenOS lately?

audio mods dont work because of a file (dont know the exact name) which is present in our phone in OOS. special mods which are made specificaly for our device like ARISE OP3 edition works perfectly. other audio mods which deletes or modifies this file will not work.

The thing is, I'm currently using Ressurection Remix which is based on CM13, Why I cannot install them?
Does it actually have something to do with Systemless Root?
So, I'm going to try A.R.I.S.E. and see how it goes, Thanks for the reply guys

I got divine beats working really well (it's viper + atmos) http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/app-divinebeats-sound-master-phone-sony-t3274355
I couldn't get stock viper4A working even with permissive at first, but divine made it work.
I can confirm that A.R.I.S.E. works perfectly with my current setup
I didn't hear about it but is a really good audio mod

Best way to install Viper Audio with AcoustiX MOD?

I'm already s-offed, unlocked bootloader, on MM firmware and MM Leedroid.
Not using Android pay, so I have SuperSU installed.
Is there a way to install Viper Audio along with ZeroInfinity's sound mod without any conflict?
And also, I saw a lot of Viper variants and got a little bit confused. Which one works best with HTC 10 in your opinion?
Any help is appreciaed

As far as I know, there is no conflict.
What the ZeroInfinity's sound mod touches is only the HTC BoomSound profiles. Which also work when unmodified.
Meaning, V4A should work as normal (but will need different tuning based on whatever BoomSound profile you have selected).
I tried it once, but I didn't fancy it.
I can't say which is best, I believe that also falls on preference and what earbuds or whatever you use for audio.

Audio mod - Dolby?

Hello there,
I've checked out a few threads but can't find any pertaining to my exact situation.
So I'm on OB28, so Oreo OOS, tried a few proposed sound mods but none of them seem to work or else I'm doing something wrong.
Flashed a few compatible TWRP recoveries and rooted. Tried that ARISE mod but either the mods I'm interested in don't work or seem to give me FCs on reboot. Tried random dolby zips which don't do anything. I've even had a "factory data reset" message on startup with an automatic reboot to recovery.
Is there any decent audio mod that works on Oreo OOS (preferably Dolby)? If so, please show me how to get this done.
Thanks
There is no practical way to get Dolby Atmos working on Oreo as of now. Dolby Digital, however, can work. You can flash this mod by guitardedhero:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74880570&postcount=31701
Note that every other audio mod needs to be removed including any in Magisk for this to work. Viper can be flashed after this works but not a priori. SELinux permissive is necessary.

[Magisk] Mic low volume fix - custom roms

This is a fairly simple module that increases the mic volume for custom roms. Since a couple of months, mic volume became so low (I guess it happened after flex used xiaomi's Jan blobs in los16). This module just edits mixer_path_mtp file and raises the volume a bit. I've been using it for a month and no one complains about my low volume anymore.
This is not tested and will not probably work in stock rom since I remember that mixer_path file in stock is named something else and I don't remember it.
You may send me any mixer_path file in/vendor/etc/ and I will try to do the same edits and it would work.
Repo:
https://github.com/ahmedkassem56/tissot-mic-fix
Works perfectly (Revenge OS).
Thanks.

This is a magisk module that you should flash using magisk manager. AFAIK, Most custom roms have fixed the issue and added similar changes so I don't think this is necessary anymore.

[GUIDE] How to install Viper4Android and Dolby Digital Plus.

I have successfully put together a method to get Dolby Digital Plus and Viper4Android running on Redmi Note 8 Pro. Firstly I am rooted on 11.0.6 Global and using LR-TWRP as recovery. On another note I have tried nearly every recovery on this Forum but the only one that doesn't give me a black screen the LR-TWRP.
1. First you need to get the Android running in Permissive mode. For me the Magisk module DID NOT work. To get permissive I found a file on another forum that someone was using on other Redmi devices. It works perfectly with no flaws. Boot into TWRP flash Permissiver_v4_2.zip. And boot back into the device.
***Note.. If you upgrade rom using TWRP as I did from 11.0.2 to 11.0.6. You will have to reflash this file to get everything running properly.
2. Open Magisk and flash ViPER4Android_FX-v2.7.1.0(2710).zip. Reboot device and the open V4A. You should be prompted to install driver. Do so and reboot if prompted to, I don't remember for sure if it makes you or not.
3. Open Magisk and flash 2.1Audio_Modification_Library-v2.4.zip and then reboot.
***NOTE.. Only this version of Audio Modification I have had luck with getting this to run. I updated this file after having everything completely setup and working and it broke V4A and Dolby. Had to uninstall and reinstall this version..
4. Boot into TWRP, NOT Magisk and flash Dolby_Digital_Plus_v.6.5.zip
5. On reboot confirm everything is working. For me it is working flawlessly. Below is a link to the files you will need.

That is likely due to your phone not being in permissive mode. I've seen that guide as well. I took my past knowledge of getting Viper + Dolby to work and came up with this solution. Being in permissive mode is required for both apps to function
I just found out the reason why my V4A doesn't work when I plug in my headset/earphones. To all those who use poweramp and set your output to "Hi-Res Output", make sure your sample rate is set to 48khz. Setting it to 96khz and up changes the status on V4A to abormal and won't work.
Thanks bro. It is working for me as well you made my day..

Awesome my dude!! Glad I could help. I'm new to writing guides but love this device and would like to encourage its development as much as I can.
When I flash V4A it functions properly however my SIM card is no longer recognize. When I uninstall V4A my sim is restored. What's up with that?

That is extremely weird. Never heard of anything like that before. Just a couple thoughts but do you have BusyBox installed through Magisk and have your phone set to permissive already?? Also what MIUI version are you running. I have tested this successfully on 11.0.2 and 11.0.6 Global.
I'm still down on 10.4. I haven't been convinced to move to 11
Worked perfectly from EEU (EU) rom moved to 11.0.6 (Global)!

You are not permissive. That is the exact error I got before I found the file I reference to flash to get 'permissive'. To check your status go to terminal and first 'su' to get root. Then type 'getenforce'. Make sure your device is showing permissive. If this is notthe problem I would be surprised. Let me know and I will help you work the problem..

Awesome. The file I reference will change se status from boot. That app I think you have to set it after every reboot if I remember correctly. Regardless I'm glad you got it working. FYI.. Dolby won't show up as an installed app if your not running permissive as well. I know that from trial and error. Glad you got it working!
Steps work. Will confirm if this is any better than standalone V4A
[Update]
Yup. Definitely way better sound quality comparing to the previous methods i used. Also thanks for sharing permissiver.. The previous way i used to change SELinux was a massive pain in my neck. (Global phone on 11.0.2 Global ROM) Looking to see how v4a will fare in upcoming custom ROMs.
Do we have any dual speaker audio sound mod for our note 8 pro global?
+1 to dual speaker mod!

Dolby digital is not working after android 10 update... need the version update
Dear all, please note and be aware, this mod will not work on android 10 because
1. dolby digital version is not supported as i stated earlier..
2. when we change SE linux to permissive, phone becomes laggy and many secured application will not work... i have personally tried that may be because of high security of android 10.. i think we will need a custom rom
