Huawei my next SmartWatch? Some questions! - Huawei Watch

Hello,
i bought a Galaxy S7 Edge (was an Iphone 6 Plus and Apple Watch User).
But now i need a new Smartwatch. Not really sure if i will buy the Moto 360 V2 or the Huawei Watch.
In my opinion the black little sensor bar on the Moto is a disturbing.
But more important for me are the WatchFaces. It seems as the Moto 360 has more Whatchfaces (like the Repo Faces of some luxury brands ) than the Huawei Watch?
Is this point right or can I get these Designs on the Huawei Watch, too?
Sorry for my bad english,my friends.English isn't my main language.

You can download all the watchfaces from the PlayStore that you want. Paid or Free and can even make your own.

IMHO watchfaces are not relevant at all in the choice of a smartwatch, as it's always possible to find the wished watchface somewhere or to design one by yourself (using Watchmaker).
More important to consider are the hardware differences (design, screen, etc.) and the price...

Most Android Wear faces are compatible with most of the devices and it's usually stated if they're not. The only big issues can be square vs round watch faces and low resolution, since the Huawei Watch has a higher resolution screen

I'm really a Newcomer in this topic. So i can't make Whatchfaces by myself and so i am depend on the developers of this great Designs.
Most Watchfaces which look good for me are designed for the Moto. But i don't know if it's such a problem because of the Screen Resolution.
If not I would go with Huawei. All in all,the price isn't an important point for me.
I can't buy a Tag Heuer Connected but the price between the Huawei and Moto is ok.

It's hard to say without any specific examples. Can you link any of the Moto faces you're interested in? But I have only come across very few faces which looked low-res on the Huawei Watch, most are fine since everyone uses high-res graphics anyway.

I do not know if that is so like to see, but I'm interested in Watch Faces like in this thread .

Edit : It seems as if this kind of Watchfaces have this black sensor bar in every Watchface. So it's hard to find this kind of Watchfaces originally made for the Huawei

Most of these watchfaces even though they were originally released for the moto will work on Huawei. I have many of them installed on my watch and they work just fine. I have not used this source which you have mentioned but I hvae obtained them from other places like facerepo. You will need to purchase the full version of Watchmaker however

Maybe you don't know this site:
http://www.watchawear.com/watches/watch-faces.html
There are hundreds of free watchfaces to be used with Watchmaker.
And actually even a child can learn to use Watchmaker..

Watchmaker and Huawei watch works perfectly. You can use any round watch face no matter if it was designed for Moto or not.
Never had any issues.
Here you can also find plenty watchmaker watchfaces: https://plus.google.com/communities/106982503578105386202

I think his main concern is that Moto faces all have that flat tire look and it carries over to the Huawei watch. But they don't..that area is covered up. As an example look at this watch someone with a Moto posted: https://plus.google.com/photos/1132...202&sqsi=25e11c8c-fc50-42c4-95d4-fea916b927cd
I just installed the same watch face and took a screenshot of it (look below). It looks just fine Not flat tire and the resolution is fine.
Also when you install an app like WatchMaker, you can customize the watch face as you want, changing colors and shortcuts etc.

Thank You very much.
I thought that the Black Sensor Bar would be on everyone watch because they are made for the Moto Watch.
Am I right, that the link i posted earlier would be in Fullsize without the Black Bar?
In Facer they have all this Black Bar.
Thank You for your help.

Huge fan of The Big O. And Roger Smith's watch plays no small role in the series.
There's a blue ring animation that would be fun to incorporate in some way, but I'm not exactly sure how. Just the watch face itself would make a good start.

Ps sorry for the awful picture.
Just ordered my 360 and can't wait to start trying out different faces. I've searched a bit looking for a Firefly-themed face but haven't found anything yet. If anyone has seen one or has the ability to throw something together, there might be a beer or coffee in it for you.
Any chances of seeing these beauty's on our 360s

Nobody for some skeleton watch faces ?? like these two beautiful Oris ?
Thx so far !
Could someone made this?
Top dial is a stopwatch minutes so that could just be kept still, date on the right, 24 hour on the left, seconds hand is the bottom dial. The large hand is the seconds for the stopwatch so that can remain still also.
Can supply better pics if required.
can anyone make one of these

I would like to get a new smart watch. My Friend has the 360 which I think looks awesome. But that flat tire thing really bugs me. I hate the way that looks. I though with the Moto 360 2 they would have removed that but they didn't. So now I am also looking at the new Huawei watch. Which to me looks pretty much identical to the 360 but without the flat tire thing. Are the android versions pretty much the same thing on all watches? I've read the Huawei is slightly thinner than the 360. Both are the same price $350. Just not sure which one to get....

The flat area is really a non-issue after the first 10 minutes with the watch.
Keep in mind that the Huawei has a 300mAh battery (and an AMOLED screen) while Moto 360 v2 has 400mAh battery (but LCD screen). I think the 360 V2 will have better battery life - in part due to their experience with V1 (while the Huawei has none) - and this is important. Also, the Moto 360 has a 1.56" screen while the Huawei has a 1.4" screen. Screen size matters on such a small device. The less bezel area, the better.
That flat tire thing as much as I tried to ignore it just bugs the heck out of me. I think it looks really really lame. I would gladly give up a little space to have it gone.
Any reason you don't want the LG Urbane?

Then you've already made your decision. You don't like the flat tire on the 360s, you don't like the LG models and you have nothing negative from your POV about the Huawei watch. They all run the same Android Wear, so functionally they are identical. Although they have some differences in hardware. This leaves you with no choice, but the Huawei watch.

Not sure why the flat tire is an issue. With a small battery like that you'd only look at the screen less than a minute every time, and if you're not admiring the watch but actually take a glance at the screen you will not notice and forget about the flat tire being there. Pretty sure practicality matters more than fashion (not like the 360 is ugly or anything).
On a side note, from my experience at least I have to look at the watch twice to tell the time, because it displays more information than a normal watch would I forget to look at the time.

I'm sorry but I'd rather have a screen with a flat tire than a small screen like the Huawei watch.
Seriously people complain about the flat tire but the truth is that all the other models have a huge bezel around and smaller screens.
The 360's screen is actually 20% bigger than the huawei watch.

I agree 100%. I didn't care for it and really put off getting it, but ended up getting one and now it's totally a non issue. Never even notice it anymore and there is a watch gave that actually used it in its design.

[Facer] [Watchmaker] [ROUND] High Quality watch faces/skins by lewi1032 taking reques

UPDATE 8/3/2019 Hello everyone its been a long time since I have been on here as I took a break from here as it is so time consuming on making custom watch faces but I still get a ton of requests, kinds words and donations to this very day. I understand that I started doing this way before digital watches were as popular now so I am considering starting back and trying to make custom watch faces and in helping the community and myself. I am adding a poll to see what the demand is for digital watch faces for any watch of your desire. Please share as if the demand is enough and can be advantageous enough for the time that is put into these I will start doing this again as I have always had a passion to create and contribute. Thanks again for everyones kind words as always!!!

Since our Huawei watches are AMOLED, I'd really like to see more faces that won't lead to excessive burn-in in ambient mode. I'm always looking for dimmed faces that only show hands, not minute marks or logos. I'd especially like to see more analog faces where the dimmed hands don't start at the center.
What option do you select in the settings for facer to make it fill and fit correctly on the Hauwei? All the options I see puts it smaller and towards the top left corner.
I nice high resolution version of the Rolex Submariner watchface without a bezel would be amazing!
Hi,
Is it possible to ask your moto360's skins without the black band at the bottom of each skin ?

well, the topic is quite calm. I uploaded the picture of the Lotus watch but no reaction from anyone so far.
Cause I saw in this and other topics that Leni (and ofcourse the others) made some great watchfaces so far. I wonder how the Lotus watch would look like digitally
So I'm requesting this watch face without the moto 360 and with working icons, or at least icons that display weather, watch battery, phone battery, and footsteps. I've loved this design since day one.
I'd like a watchface that does not turn all black in ambient mode. Some of the ZW3 watchfaces do that (for ex. Lux Copper) but I cant figure out how to do that on Hwatch. And the ZW3 watchfaces dont work on Hwatch (constant loading issue)
Thanks

Tag Heuer Watch faces

Tag Heuer Watch faces
Do we've Tag Heuer watch faces for this watch, I am willing to buy this watch I would like to know if this is worh purchasing or should I go for Moto 360 2nd Gen ?
https://www.facerepo.com/app/search/results?sortOrder=relevance&query=tag+heurer&page=1
I believe it's worth purchasing.
I found a review / compare of both of them: http://www.gizmag.com/moto-360-2-vs-huawei-watch-comparison-review/39774/
The 360 gen 2 has this thing called a "flat tyre look" where the bottom of the screen is cut off.. I don't like that at all. The Huawai looks better and I think closer to a proper watch.
My main driver for buying the Huawai is that it looks smart when I wear business clothes. The 360 is close and would also do the job but the cut off bit of the screen looks odd and annoying.
The 360 in ambient mode looks very pixilated, where the HW looks crystal clear and defined. Plus with the sapphire scratch resistant face you'll never scratch it. I've got 10 year old TAG's with spotless sapphire faces. It's a truly awesome mineral second hardest to diamonds.
The watch is frigging awesome.
Sorry to write on an old post, but since the release of the Connected I was wondering if you could get the official watch faces to the Huawei watch. Thanks!
They are on https://facerepo.com/app/
Choose your watch as the Huawei and then scroll through a few of the pages. You will see around 3 to 4 pages in the Connected faces. My Huawei is charging but here is one on my LG R. First on is fully on and the second is dimmed. Very nice face on the LG but even better on the Huawei! Pm me if you cant them.

Would you buy one now?

Need to find a replacement for my trusty Gshock that just died. Am thinking of going with a smart watch and the Huawei seems to be the best of the bunch.
With the new version coming soon, would you buy one of these now? I can't seem to find any good sales on the current watch at the moment, so would likely buy sell and hand.
Or will the existing watch go on sale when the new one is released and used prices also drop?
What real benefits is the new model likely to offer?
Anyone in the UK have a good example they are thinking of selling? Ideally with stainless strap and black would also be a plus.
Cheers
Sorry, realised this should be in the Q&A forum. Sent request to admin
There's rumors that the HW 2 will be revealed in less than a week, so if I were you I'd wait until at least then so you'll have more facts before making a decision.
http://www.techradar.com/news/huawei-watch-2-release-date-news-and-rumors
I've bought my watch about week ago and I do not regret. Great watch
well.. looking at the reviews the newer models do not seem to offer a huge improvement over the HW, and I really love everything about this watch after almost a year now
So yes, would def buy one now especially that the price is lower
You should keep an eye out on Amazon (US version). I picked up a "used - like new" Huawei watch for $124 from Amazon Warehouse. I expected it to be damaged but it was like new, except the box wasn't sealed. Really good deal and I glad I got the watch.
I bought one yesterday as I don't like the sporty look.

The watch itself is great. Android Wear 1 is a laggy though. So Android Wear 2 should make it better.
With HW 2 being too gear s3 ish and no rotating bezel.. I mean WTF - I'll probably go with the first gen HW. I just really wish it had GPS and NFC. Once it goes back to < $200 I'm grabbing one. I'll go to best buy and return it if wear 2.0 isn't what I hope it is. If thats the case, maaaybe gear s3 classic can fit the bill.
I just got my HW yesterday. I replaced my beloved Moto 360 gen 1, and I'm really glad I did. The screen is beautiful, everything about the watch screams quality, no flat tire, Wear 2.0 officially incoming. I was watching to see if the price would come down after HW 2 was revealed, but it actually went up. I got lucky and found one at pre-reveal prices. Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks "sporty" autonomous smart watches are a terrible idea.
I got my HW last week, just before the HW 2 was announced and don't regret it a bit. This is a great watch and great replacement for my Sony Smartwatch 3.

I actually have two. One with AW 2.0 DP4/5 and one still running AW 1.5 MM. Can't seem to part with either at this point. I also have a ZW2.
I have both Hwatch and ZW3, but I advise you rather buy ZW3 now (it is far newer watch with newer hardware) if your budget allows it. If not, then of course, Hwatch is a superb smartwatch, if you can find one for around 150eur.

I disagree, the ZW3 has no hear rate sensor, ugly protruding buttons and proprietary straps. The only plus is the ambient light sensor without a flat tyre

Naahh, nevermind
I ordered a Huawei Watch from Amazon and had a play, and have sent it back but may buy one again if the prices drop. It was the silver version and I would definitely want the black version. So I am keeping my eye out for deals on those. This watch is about as big as I would want to go, ideally a bit smaller.
I only played for a couple of hours and it seemed ok. The only thing I did notice, but didn't investigate too much, is that even on dim mode some of the watch faces were really bright.
I work nights and would want the watch to be stealthy at night. Is there a way to get the face really dim but still visible or is it a case of having to have the screen off? Hopefully that makes sense!
I also like the look of the LG Style (titanium) which from what I can gather is a bit smaller but has far less features. Is there anything else that might suit my needs? I may also just go for another Gshock for a few years and see how the smartwatches continue to pan out.
