From the Recent Redstone Builds "Hey Cortana" app doesn't work,
so we miss Cortana passive activation through heycortana app for supported devices like lumia 1520,930
when you open Heycortana app,it says "turn on cortana first",if you click on cortana settings,we can see cortana already setup
after 10-12 trails from 8.1 to Redstone,finally setup "hey cortana " to working again
we need to Active Hey cortana from 8.1 (1520/930 only)
PreRequirements:-
1)Hey cortana supported device(1520/930)
2)2.2 GB data sharing from wifi connection
3)2-3 hrs of free time(need patiency)
flash to 8.1 to Windows Device Recovery Tool(WDRT)/any other tool
in the Initial setup uncheck automatic store app update & automatic phone update & complete the setup(see screenshot 1)
go to date&time settings forward date to 100yrs (ex 2016),come back click on Extras+ info & uninstall it,
set the date & time correctly
log in to store and first install "upgrade Advisor" and complete setup &enable windows 10 update.
go to store settings, click on check for update
list of available app updates will come,update "heycortana" only
turn on location ,open cortana complete setup,you need to turn on "location" till the end.
now open Hey Cortana and complete training..
go to phone update and install update(lumia update+wm10 update)(1.2GB wifi data required)
after updating to 10586.107,
Skype+messaging :-
don't update Skype+messaging to use it on >14367 ,don't update it.
those who want to deploy Skype+messaging 2.13 : Download(see sceenshot 14)
install windows insider select fast ring & it will restart
update all required apps from store
now check for update download it
and
while installing it turnoff WiFi & cellular data
Before clicking on restart make sure you turn on location,otherwise you need start from first
after upgrading 14367,say hey cortana ,it will work,now open cortana,now you can use hey cortana even when location turnoff

thanks @raghulive finally i got heycortana on 14371,which i missed from last few Redstone builds ,messaging + skype also important to me,i updated all apps+ store except messaging+ skype on 10586.107,no problems:good:
cortana on 8.1 can answer more questions and even open system settings ,not possible yet on 14367

are you crazy,what the need of copy, its not one thought /innovation to get this hack ,while 950 xl got .29 update (dec 2015),MICROSOFTMDG updates on discussions,when this build released for only 950/xl,
is it a big thing to change registry values to get update,its just a commonsense ,not one copy other

can anyone help me? i want to underclock my old lumia 950, after a year i think i picked it up from my drawer , and start to update it , and downloading some apps, it gets too damn hot, it was nearly burning ? did factory reset but nothing changes, installed its rom with pc , again nothing changed, so i want to underclock its processor , so it will be cool in every situation , i think ?

nope its not battery , i changed it and the heat is beginning from cpu chipset (its near the power button)

Not sure if its working at all in Lumia 1520. I am on .164 buld, did phone reset and lost both glance and hey cortana. Previously they didnt work on 1520. Glance gave me briefly settings then go black, and Hey Cortana was giving me "Not suported for this phone"...

Erase WMAppPRHeader.xml inside xap arhive and deploy using vpv xapdeployer. On lumia 640xl dual sim i have this message when open hey cortana from settings: this feature is not available for your phone. I will try to change PhoneSOCVersion . (HKLM\SYSTEM\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo)

On insider. Installed but no updates. I used then upgrade advizor.
It is now available for all Preview Ring Members. Installing it now on my 1320.
installed it also today via Release Preview Ring. I first thought my 1320 was bricked because it hang at NOKIA logo but after 1 hour the upgrade started.

Try removing your SD card when it reaches the moving gears and re-insert after the reboot when it starts with the migration. That should make your upgrade faster and smoother on the 1320 (most people i know who have a 1320 have the same issue and fix as well).
I haven't updated my 735 in a while, what is the latest official insider build and can 10.0.10586.218 be installed by modifying PhoneManufacturer?
My 1320 is stuck on the Nokia screen for more than an hour. I removed the SD card and plugged on charger, what could be the issue? Any fix for this?

Windows Update service migrated to TLS 1.2 but OTC tool is built against .NET 4.0 that does not support TLS 1.2.

However, users can still get the existing OTC tool to work by adding 8 required entries:

Just to say thank you for your efforts and that I have now got Win 10 on my Lumia 640 LTE. After the initial install I did get another Windows Update and then I could access the MS Store and download the apps I wanted to use.
Thank you, this is the best and the simplest way to upgrade from WP8.1 to W10m. And I'm keeping your file for the rainy day.

Hello. Is this compatible with 512MB ram phones like Lumia 530? I want to download the update for Windows 10 using PC because i don't want to get low storage error with my device using OTA update. Thanks

Hello. Is this compatible with 512MB ram phones like Lumia 530? I want to download the update for Windows 10 using PC because i don't want to get low storage error with my device using OTA update. Thanks

I am not sure, I have not even used the tool myself. If you find any manual to update L530 to W10 which uses otc updater, then yes, it should work.

It's July 2022, I downloaded this and tried to update my Lumia 640 LTE to W10M. The updater ran, detected my phone, downloaded logs, checked for updates, and said no updates were available. Any thoughts on what to do?

you can try offline update.
Tried the offline update and updated successfully to W10M. Aside from losing access to the Here WeGo GPS app, everything else works better. Even after the 3G drawdown the phone works well with LTE/4G/2G. A couple of catches: IMS is not provisioned, and Wifi Calling does not work. When I have wifi turned on, all my calls go straight through to voicemail. With WiFi off, they ring properly.
