Looking for a wired headset with microphone for oneplus x (android 6.0) - General Accessories

Hi folks,
My mobile operator has started offering a comprehensive package for international calls, so I'm looking for a decent handsfree that would be comfortable to wear for longer periods of time.
On the PC I use a Plantronics USB headset with a microphone, and I'm wondering if there is something similar that I can plug into the phone via 3.5mm jack?
I have in-ear headphones with mic from Sony that came with Z2, but that is ok for short calls, not for wearing the full day.
I'm not a big fan of bluetooth headsets, they need to be charged and cost more, so my ideal solution would be a wired on-ear headset with microphone, as I'll be sitting at my desk, but instead of using Skype and USB, I'd be using my phone for the voice calls.
Is there such a thing and can you recommend a model?
I see there are a lot of 2.5mm kits like that for DECT phones, but the smartphone has a 3.5mm socket.
Thanks!

Just got a Xiaomi Hybrid IEM. For that price they are a steal!
I am very happy with them, like many others.

Do these have a microphone? It's not clear from the text, but it looks like just headphones.
I'm looking for something similar to Plantronic Supraplus but with 3.5mm instead of USB

Yes, they have a microphone (I don't think there's a version without mic). They also have 3 buttons (multifunctional + volume).

Wanted: A Wired stereo hands free kit.

Can anyone recomend a replacement for the standard stero handsfree kit that comes with the MDA Pro.
I've seen these http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/10098.htm, but was wondering if anyone knew of any better ones?
I'm also looking for such a headset. The one on your links looks nice, but is there a volume control on it? I can't see that.
The one in mobilefun.co.uk is just the same as the one came from the box.
There is no other alternative so far I could find....
Though I found one (and I ordered already) from
http://pc-mobile.net/pqtaa.htm
that is for a 3.5mm headphone/mic jack.
So, I will post again if this really fits the Universal....GOOD LUCK!!!
Cheers,
Yeah, the headset fits without any problem.
That is the same as the HP Ipaq 54xx/55xx/63xx/65xx, Toshiba e75x/80x.
Although its a bit expensive, USD33 including postage....
Cheers,
Just out of curiousity, what happened to your hands free kit that came with the unit, guys?
The original one comes with the package is excellent except that it is too lengthy and the pair of earphones always messes with others.
I would like to have a single lead earphone that I can change to stereo when I want.
So, the one that I just got is perfect but it is quite easily to be damage....
Cheers,
  My over excited dog snagged them with a paw when I got home from work and I think she snapped the cable inside the sheathing.
Wired headset with headband with wires
Can anyone recommend a headset for the Universal that
IS NOT BLUETOOTH
Has a headband with good sized speakers, not earbuds and dangly wires
IS NOT BLUETOOTH
Microphone, PTT switch, volume
and isn't bluetooth? i.e. it's wired to the 4 pole jack?
Thanks
Nick
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the info!
I have one of this headset that I bought few years ago for my XDA/Wallaby (with the 2.5mm plug). Yes, its very easy to be damaged (very delicate) but yet mine is still functional until now. Some part of the wire is already torn and I have to put some tape on it.
I use it mainly to connect my XDA/Wallaby to my car stereo system.
Thanks that you share this info, now I know that there is a suitable version for the Universal as well.
Do you mind to confirm back that the headset indeed works perfectly with the Universal:
1. The call answer button
2. The microphone
3. Volume control
4. The stereo jack
I will definately get one if you can help clarify that every point is working fine. Thanks in advance.
Yeah. Everything is fine altough the answer key need more practices.
Good to hear that the info is usefual.
Cheers,
Thanks Chris!
The answer button, you just press it once to pick up a call right?
What special practice do you need?
I sticked my old one (for the XDA) in my car dashboard near the stereo system. So when the phone rings, I just press it once and the call then will be in the car speakers. The microphone is not that great, ppl usually complaint me that my voice is so low, but guess what, they indeed can hear me.

This is exactly what I'm trying to set up in my car,how do I do it? I tried using a splitter (one 3.5 mm male plug with two female 3.5mm openings) and running one end to my car stereo, and the audio from the call comes through the car speakers nicely but I can't use either the mic from the included (in the box) headset for voice nor will the device's mic work...

any good stereo headsets? pls recommend

i have a ****ty headset.. ears hurt, head hurts, n everything else juss seems annoying.. i love smaller more comfortable, stereo headsets.. any recommendations.. please give me links from ebay if the item is available over there.. all feedback is highly appreciated..
Try the motorola s9 stereo blue tooth headsets. I know they are expensive and all, but they are pretty decent looking for a stereo bluetooth headset, most of which are have been pretty ugly so far. Here are the reviews. I am planning to buy one myself.
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-MOTO...6208?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1182306778&sr=8-1
I know you might not be looking for wireless headset but I think they will become very popular in near future, given that most mp3 phones now support that a2dp functionality. Anyway thats my 2 c.
I don't know, but what do you people think of this one?
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4301
The site also has many other OEM bluetooth, if you're looking, but I wonder about this headset.
Edit: yea, i stupidly bought it, tell u it doesn't work, cause of 11 pin usb.
Doesn't work

Hello. Unfortunately this type of headset (with mini usb) does not work with Prophet. I tried with a RAZR adapter and no sound... The link also does not included Dopod 818 (aka Prophet).
My recomendation is Jabra BT620s http://cgi.ebay.com/New-OEM-Jabra-Handsfree-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset-BT620s_W0QQitemZ140151107677QQihZ004QQcategoryZ133228QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
This is a BT Headset, the sound is very good and work fine with Propert.
I've this one and recomended.
See you.
Anyone know good ones that i can buy online, with wire.
Stereo headset
I did a lot of looking around before I bought my headset, and in the end chose the Plantronics Pulsar 590a. It kicks ass! It comes with a REALLY nice case, a headphone jack bluetooth transmitter (for your cassette walkman), an extra microphone extention arm, an inflight cable for use without Bluetooth, a wall and USB charger and a nice desktop stand.
Performance with the Prophet is great. If I'm listening to music and a call comes in, it switches over to Hands-free mode and I can touch the phone button on the earpiece to answer. After the call is over, the music comes back automatically. The earpiece remote also allows for voice-dail, switching tracks and mute/volume adjustment.
I did manage to fry mine by trying to charge it with the USB charger cable plugged into a car cigarette lighter style USB adapter. After that they would no longer charge. I didn't want to deal with the company I bought them from, so I called Plantronics direct. They wanted a scanned copy of the recipt, and when I sent it, I recieved an answer which said that a new unit has been shipped, and to please dispose of the old one. 2 days later I had my new headphones! Now that's service!
The only other complaint that I have with the product is the blue light on the earpiece. It kind of draws a lot of attention, but I love them! Best headset I ever owned!
Mine is a Dell BH200.. works fine..
expansys.com have tons of converters so one can use any 3.5mm minijack headsets
though not with mic i think
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorola-MO...8?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1194653052&sr=8-1
this one seems insanely cheap not sure if it's good or even works with htc pdas but cheap
i use a coverter so i can use ordanery headphones for music, not to bothered about using it for calls
pairing bt headset for music
hi. I need help. Have bought a cheepo BSH01 BT stereo headset. Looks fine and works perfectly with calls. Can't get it to work with music though. Any clues? I have a O2 converted to PM300 WM5 (ROM 2.13.9.21 ITA radio 02.07.20). Something to do with a2dp? any player that I might use instead of wmp?
Thanks

what you think?

stereo bluetooth 3.5mm adaptor

I was thinking about buying one of these.
Does anyone else have one? Are they an good?
I have just a basic usb to 3.5 headphone adapter, and I use iPod headphones.
Sounds great to me.

Yea, I bought those and they are being shipped to me right now.
But I think that the stereo bluetooth adapter seems pretty convenient, no?
If HTC shipped a bluetooth adapter like this, I wouldn't complain about the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack
Or you could just get stereo BT headphones and forget the wires and adapters!

No stereo bluetooth headphones can compare to my Shure earbuds.
Plus I think that most stereo bluetooth headphones are clunky.
Do you have a nice pair though? any recomendations?
I got one from ebay as well. I paid less than that, but it's still the same. They all are manufactured in China. I use mine everyday. Good sound quality, works right out of the box. I haven't really had any problems.
I only have two complaints. 1. You cant use them while charging, as the charger shown in the third picture is plugged into the headphone port. Strange, yes but it works. That is not really that much a problem, because it has great battery life! 2. No matter what I do, I cannot connect it to my computer to stream music from my computer to the A2d2p adapter. (or whatever it's called, lol) If you come up with a solution after you get yours, please post, or email me.
For me, price was an issue. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money to listen to music from my phone, but I wanted good sound quality. Regular Bluetooth Stereo Headphones are expensive. For me, this was the way to go. I bought this and a pair of Sony wrap around headphones, and I am rockin'. I think you will be pleased.
**edit**
PS - I have attached the manual I got from a Chinese Suppliers site, as one doesn't come with it. At least not with mine. (Maybe thats why I got mine cheaper, lol)
PSS - And you know they are not only headphone adapters, but can be used for calls as well. It is kind of awkward to hold the adapter up to talk to someone, but I usually just clip it on my lapel. OK, done editing now.

Nice! Thank you for the information!
I think I'm going to get one, I just have to be careful because most of the ones they are selling on Ebay only have UK outlet plugins. I live in the US, and it looks like you do too by the picture of your plug.
I have these:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DRBT21G-...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1246133334&sr=8-29
Great sound, comfy and durable as hell.
But I think im going to try out these next as I want something smaller and lighter, Im still shoppin though for a newer pair:

Cool dude. The Voyager ones look nice, but I think I'm gonna go the cheap route and just get the converter.
I have one of these:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/hbh-ds200?cc=CA&lc=en
It's a Sony Ericsson DS-200 which I bought last year specifically so I could plug some decent headphones in!
I think it was fairly expensive - about £50 when I bought it, but it has worked great with anything that I've wanted to pair with it, including my Excalibur.
But it's far better than using a wired headset with a 3.5 jack in my opinion, because if you use "proper" earphones that come with a long-ish cord then combine that with the long-ish cord from the wired headset then it makes for some nightmareish tangles! Using A2DP seems like freedom in comparison!
Highly recommended

Lol about the longish cord, gave up on wired headsets as the ammont of times i'd rip the cord when cycling, i'm using STAK semi enclosed cans made for 3 network they were cheap bout £30 and give loud playback with comfortability and like post above a2dp makes listening to music far more enjoyable skippin tracks in an instant answering calls in an instant...
BT is the deffenat way to go
Then cap it off with PocketPlayer....

I'm using Sennheiser CX300, not audiophile grade by any means but certainly better than bundled headphones or stuff like that, they're great.
I love impressing people on the bus by hiding the A2DP receiver in a pocket and then watching a movie or something on my phone, I've had a few people who were watching over my shoulder anyway ask me how I was listening to the sound! Hehe

Bluetooth stereo headset for HD2?

I am looking to buy stereo bluetooth headset for HD2. I want earbuds, not over the head. Sony Ericsson ds980 got my attention, and also cheaper models like Plantronics Pulsar 260 and Sony DRBT100CX, but ds980 is my first pick so far.
Can anyone point me in right direction?
Thanks in advance.
I have a Magic and I am using this: Bluetooth Nokia BH-214.
Back then I was using HBH-DS970, great sound and good bluetooth performance but the plastic mesh sleeve covering the lanyard part going to the receiver "shrinks" after a few months, exposing the actual wire cables in a "pulled-out" state. If the HBH-DS980 has the same mesh sleeves, I wouldn't recommend it for you.
An alternative is HBH-DS205 which I had next. It has more stable bluetooth connection and longer battery life than DS970/DS980 and its older brothers, DS200 and DS220. Though it doesn't come with in-ear set rather with a standard Bass Reflex earphones, but you have the freedom to use any earphones in the market that has 3.5mm jack. Its only drawbacks are, one, the LCD functions only as a battery/pairing-mode indicator and it doesn't lit up, two, it only has one slider control for both volume and skip track function. But for me it was a good trade-off since it's more convenient to use.
Another alternative choice is the one I have now, a Jabra BT3030. It has complete function controls for music and calls, comes with decent 3.5mm in-ears, and has two options for wearing it, either it be by lanyard or by clip-on. Only drawback I can think of is that it has no screen, which is in my opinion better as LCD screens only add up to battery consumption. Another bonus is that it comes with microUSB port and charger, which you may use to charge your phone with and vice versa. Though these chargers have different ampere output and not entirely recommendable to interchanging use, its a good feel having similar chargers amongst your gadgets, especially when situations that you need them most arise.
had a look at motorola S9-HD? excellent sound
also have a pair of altec lansing 903 - also good sound (not as good as the S9) but better comfort
Yeah, surprised to see that the best ad2p headset isn't even in that shopping list
Get the motorola s9-hd, briefly the best in all aspects amongst all.
I've been using Moto S9s and love em. Great while I'm working out and controls are simple and easy to activate.
Yep, the Motorola S9-hd Rock!
You want the best, then you should buy a Sennheiser MM450 Travel. It's kinda expensive but it has the best sound in the market.
Anyone got any idea what the Sony Ericsson MW600 headset is like? I've got an HD2 and been tempted for a while but reluctant to pay £40 before I find out about them and if they work ok with the phone.
How about somethine like this Sony DRBT100CX seem like what you are looking for. Or the Nokie BH-214. Also, Bluetrek Duo and LG HBS-110

someone should really move this to the polls section.
Hi Guys, is anyone using the JVC HA-W700BT with their HD2. I need to know if it's fully compatible with the HD2 as I know many of you are having compatibility issues with HD2 and Bluetooth Headsets.
Many thanks in advance
I'm pretty unsure as well. I dont think I want the motorola s9 cause I just dont want a pair of headphones... I've been looking at the Jabra BT8010 and the Altec Lansing Backbeat 903. Both are basically double bluetooths that still have the mic in your ear.
The Jabra's second earpiece detaches which is nice when you just want the BT part in your ear.
But I've heard the 903's earphones fit much nicer in your ear and the strap around the back is nice plus mic quality is suppose to be great.
On the other hand there are a couple units out there that are tabs that you wear around your neck that have a headphone slot...those are pretty nice...but I think I have my choice narrowed down to one of those two.
Just a final question has anyone used either of these two with a newer android device. I'm getting a samsung galaxy s and I'm hoping it works well with it.

[request] Bluetooth Wireless with Noise Cancellation

Hi
I am planning on buying Bluetooth Stereo Ear Phones for my mobile.
I checked many sites but couldnt find products to my needs
My main considerations are :
1. Low cost ( $100)
2. In-Ear (ear Plugs)
3. Noise Cancellation
4. MultiPoint connect ( connect 2 devices at a time)
Does any one know any product with these 4 features ?
I thought of 'PLANTRONICS BBTGO2-BLK W BACKBEAT GO 2' or 'SONY MW600' or 'SONY MW1'
But none of them have Noise Cancellation.
I already have
Plantronics Backbeat 903+ , but i didnt like the confort, the noise cancellation is good.
So i am searching for IN-EAR plugs.
Kindly let me know.
THank you
PS:
I would also be interested if someone can help me MOD the existing Plantronics Backbeat 903+ to have EAR BUDS (in ear), I applied Quick Fix Glue and attached the SONY ear plugs, working fine, but they often fall off and also my ears pain a lot after using for few mins.
So i wanted to pull out wires and attach the ear plugs of my existing Sony Plugs, but the internals seem vey complicated with ribbon cabling.
Never mind, I made it myself :victory:
