Did you select "Xperia X" on the Sony Developer site to get the BL unlock code? Just asking since the Xperia X Perfomance does not show in the list yet.

Yes, just select "Xperia X" is ok. I have unlocked BL and rooted XP.

Thank you for the first kernel and root method.
I'm waiting recovery and xposed now.
Any "bad influence" after unlocked bootloder?

same as Z5 (no X-Reality and noise reduction in camera because of no DRM key and brabra), and workaround for DRM key is included in kernel.

What do you mean by workaround? Do you mean X-Reality and noise reduction will still be there after using this kernel?

Do you have the backup of stock kernel?

I built TWRP but it only boots when I run fastboot boot and touch didn't work, so I didn't upload TWRP for now.
I can control with USB mouse and I confirmed Xposed v85 is working well.
Maybe it's kernel problem (I'm using customized AOSP tree...), so I'll try to build working TWRP this week.

I dont have bash, is this the problem? Why isnt bash with busybox?
Shouldnt ash work?
BusyBox v1.19.2-cm71 static (2011-10-06 22:09 +0200) multi-call binary.
which zip and image?
You should really post this in the developers debdroid forum.
Which flashable zip and image did you download?
not enough posts
I cant post in dev, im too new.
Here are links to the zip and .gz that I dl'd.

rename or expand, bash for young
Did you expand the .gz to /sdcard/debdroid and name it linux.img or rename the .gz to linux.img?
not sure how thats supposed to work.
I see that bash is avail for the Young. Not sure why its not in calkulins rom...
Renamed the .gz
First i tried expanding it using estrongs fm. It gave the error "file size mismatch" and the resultant file was only 3.75G. I figured this was not the right way to do it and ended up just renaming the .gz to linux.img. Pretty sure thats how its supposed to go.
Maybe calkulin will include bash in his next rom.

You cannot simply rename the .gz to .img. Extract it on a computer then move it over to your sdcard as /sdcard/debdroid/linux.img. If ash is not working - bash is required because of the way functions are called in the script, however this should solve your issue once you extract the .img from the compressed download.

[Q] Ubuntu on desire z

i followed this( htt p:/ /androlinux.com/android-ubuntu-development/how-to-install-ubuntu-on-android/ ) tutorial to install ubuntu on my desire z but it doesn't work. i'm using miui rom, does that have anything to do with that?
my kernel is 2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod.
Been planing on trying this myself but it does say it will only work on dual core phones. Haven't confirmed if it can work on g2/dz
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
confirming it worked here

Looks like a couple files are missing. I got ubuntu to run quite well really (4GB image file with fluxbox, an office suite, media player, browser, pidgin, and several other apps). I didn't use that guide, I just grabbed the files and read the bash scripts to see what was going on.
Basically the zip you download should have an ubuntu.img file and about 4 other files. Make a folder on your sdcard (I called mine "ubuntu") and place all the files in the zip in that folder. Then use adb shell to connect to your phone and run.
Code:
[B]# sh ubuntu.sh[/B]
That will copy certain files to the system. Once that is done, you can run:
Code:
[B]# bootubuntu[/B]
As far as I know, you have to be using adb shell to run that and not using terminal emulator (though I may be mistaken). Once you run bootubuntu (from adb shell) you don't have to have your phone connected to the computer (until you reboot at least to run it again).

Failed to mount /system, IO error, what's going on...?

Hey my g3 is broken... After i installed resurrection remix marshmallow i ran into some issues with the screen tunring off a minute after starting and not coming back on (well backlight was on but nothing else), so i decided to revert back to lollipop. First i tried to flash a backup i had done before, that failed as it got stuck on "calculating details" or something like that, then i wiped the system partition cause it seems like that might work? but now everything is broken...
shorter version: had issues with marshmallow, tried to recovery from lollipop backup, it didn't, wiped system, now i can't install roms or anything
- can't flash another version of twrp (kinda funny how it says it succeeded...):
Code:

- cant flash roms, (example flashing ressurection remix) again it says it succeeds... but that's obviously a lie:

CUOCO92 11S V4.1-V4.3 OTA to V4.4 doesn't seems to get applied ?!

Hi,
today I noticed that there is again an OTA update from 4.3 to 4.4 for the CUOCO 11S US version.
The OTA Update Tool from CUOCO downloaded it without problems, but after TWRP flashing it seems that the described fixes weren't included or the update didn't apply.
I tested this by trying the quick fixes described in the change log, e.g. setting for calculator and qrcode.
Does anyone successful installed this OTA update on his CUOCO 11S US ROM ?

Yes, I've installed the ROM 11s Cuoco92, updated to v44 and now both the calculator and code-bar work correctly from quick settings

Even with a factory reset on my actual CUOCO92 V4.2 build I'm not able to update to 4.3 and then 4.4 via OTA-Updater.
After installation without errors regarding the TWRP install output my phone ist still on build 4.2. Maybe I have to delete all partitions and do a restore to the factory ROM via TWRP 3.0.2 restore.
Look at my last "last_ota_log". I tried also to install another ZIP here for example SuperSU Beta 2.74 this one also has problems:

Obviously it has something todo with the rw mount permissions of the system partition. It seems that the CUOCOS update script can't overwrite or replace the files:
ui_print("_________________________");
ui_print("LEECO OTA UPDATE CUOCO92");
sleep(5);
ui_print("Preparing update...");
show_progress(1.34,70);
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system", "/system");
sleep(4);
ui_print("Patching system...");
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
sleep(5);
ui_print("Cleaning...");
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/data", "/data");
delete_recursive("/data/data/com.otaupdater");
delete_recursive("/data/media/0/OTA-Updater");
unmount("/data");
sleep(10);
ui_print("Done");
show_progress(1.34,10);
sleep(5);
run_program("/sbin/reboot");
The script seems to fail during extraction of the package when it tries to replace the several folders under /system/...
