DPI - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Is there any way I can chance screen dpi with stock ROM (Oxygen). My phone is rooted.
Thank you

add this line to your build.prop file (located in /system)
ro.sf.lcd_density=XXX
change xxx to your desired dpi and reboot

Just download the build. Prop editor from the playstore. Search density. Change it to what you want. Restart. I use 320.

Im using le dpi changer and im using 290

Adb shell wm density xxx where xxx is your desired density. No root required.

With adb you get issues like play store big icons zooper widget didnt work correctly etc.
Sent from my ONEPLUS3

No play store issues but chronos widget battery icon did become bigger than usual. Also cropping profile pics in WhatsApp etc seems broken. I just reverted to stock dpi and I'm happy ever since.

This approach caused incorrect display of some display elements for me - for instance the top developer icon on play store looks abnormally large. Setting the dpi from build prop has no issues

If you encounter any oddities in apps when you change dpi, install Xposed & App Setting and you can revert the misbehaving app back to stock dpi individually.

There is paid theme app on a play store called TouchWiz 5 for cm10. It's for HDPI devices but you can change your dpi density and install it and than back to original density. I'm using a theme and it's just an eyecandy

[REQ] Always On Display from S7/S7 EDGE

Could someone port this feature alone via an APP. The one with no root necessary or flashing a ROM. I think a lot of people would like that. Thank you!
I would like that too
for the always on display....the s7 kernel is needed which samsung has not released the source code yet. so just be cool....if the source code is released, we will get it

That's a bad rip off of a feature that only drains 1% per hour just like night clock. That probably drains 10% per hour. Also it looks horrible lol.

What are you talking about? I don't see it. I have searched on setting and also via S Finder. No setting with an "Always" word in it. Care to post a screenshot?
I'm on Sixperience Rom, it's the Dpad version MM 6.01 which is STOCK from the Edge Plus.
But as far as I'm aware the plus doesn't have the S7 always on feature either.
Come on guys.. Clock on your hand clock on the edge clock on the Walls clock on Pc's, at last how many clocks?

Changing DPI properly on stock Rom ZE551ML

I am rooted but I didn't unlocked bootloader yet. I tried third party apps to adjust dpı but they didn't changed it. I tried command prompt from Windows it changed it with a little bugs like swiftkey and the photo of the user in status bar. So how can I adjust dpı properly?

Stock? or Custom ROM?

8) Adjusting DPI without root

To adjust the DPI follow the steps below, THIS DOES NOT REQUIRE ROOT.
NOTE: I have used the DPI 250 here you can adjust the DPI according to your own taste. The default DPI is 480
CLICK TO HIDE CONTENT
1) Enable USB Debugging
2) Start ADB and check if you see your device by typing
Code:
adb devices
3) If you see your phone go ahead and type
Code:
adb shell wm density 250 (or your preferred setting)
4) Reboot your phone to apply the effects system wide.

I haven't tried Swifkey but I don't care for it anyways. Too buggy all the time. I have no issues with any other apps though. Unfortunately I don't remember the last setting I used cause I went in steps until it was where I wanted it but I think it's currently at 320 or 350 dip right now.

you can change your dpi by manually editing your build.prop, or use an app like textdroider dpi.

The question is about screen size, not density.
OP: try this. You have to be rooted.

Both of these are interesting options. I am testing, there is a bit lagginess though.

Dpi change

Can we change the default dpi on Mate 20 x. The developer setting to change the width only make the font smaller but everything else still big, like the icon, home screen and status bar etc. Any method for root or non root.
Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
Some interface elements such as the ones you mention are not affected by changing the dpi setting. There is no way round that.
It's a bug, it worked great on the Honor Note 10.

I hope so, yeah on Honor its changed everything.
Hi guys, I posted this in another thread before I found this so I'm going to copy-paste what I put there:
Hey guys, I've been thinking of getting this phone but after trying it out at a store and realizing that the navigation buttons and notification doesn't change size, I'm a lot more hesitant to get the phone. Is it possible to change the sizes of them? Any luck using ADB to change the lcd.density? According to this other post in the Mate 10 forums https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76106073&postcount=32 it's possible. They did edit the build prop directly though. Not sure if this is able to be edited through ADB so no root is required.
Would appreciate any answers to this! Thank you!
Is there really no way around it?
