Just place the downloaded firmware (UL-xxx.zip) into root folder on your internal storage or external sdcard. The system will automatically recognize it and asking do you want to flash it.
Just make sure you had the correct regional firmware (mine was WW)

Rename your downloaded firmware to K012_sdupdate.zip then copy to your MICROSD. Now you just have to go into droidboot mode.
Follow the step below to go into droidboot. (Start by turn off your device).
1. If you had never update to kitkat before, go into droidboot by holding VOL DOWN + POWER until droidboot menu is present.
2. If you have update to kitkat before (or currently on kitkat), boot into droidboot by holding VOL UP + POWER until menu is present.
Next step depend on menu that appear on your droidboot menu:
1. If you had SD UPDATE option presented on the MOST BELOW option, go on and select it. (Beware, you should choose SD UPDATE not SD DOWNLOAD)
2. If your menu doesnt show SD UPDATE, then you had to choose RECOVERY.
I think thats all to do, your device must have start the update process by now.
CMIIW
But there is no recovery mode in this device like cwm or twrp..............
have a look.....
in the video below i have started in recovery without puting the firmware archieve in sdcard....will it surely work...
and one thing more is there ant way to install cwm or twrp or any other recovery on this device......
Flash fonepad firmware
It's very easy. Just put the downloaded zip file in the root of you internal memory and you will see a notification which says it has detected a new update file. Tap on it and install.
Good luck

How to root your Redmi Note 4 and install TWRP recovery.

WARNING: this tutorial is specifically for the Redmi Note 4 [ Qualcomm Snapdragon ] variant. Attempt to try it on other devices may brick your phone.
It is slightly technical but a really easy procedure. So carry on only if you have the skill, patience and confidence. I will not be held responsible for your mistakes, because I have tried this on my device and it works perfectly fine.
***NOTE : All links have been disabled since I am a new user. I'll update them as soon as i am over the restriction. thanks for understanding. (Just google the file you want to download, and they'll easily be available )
This takes barely half hour if you have the proper skill and an unlocked bootloader.
So, let's start.
So there are some steps to be followed over here. You need to complete all of the below steps. Links to the files required will be given below.
1. You need an unlocked bootloader.
2. You need the ADB and Fastboot device drivers installed on your PC
3. The ZIP files required for flashing.
So You will need the Mi Flash tool and MiUnlock tool during the bootloader unlock process. ( The MiFlash tool is available for download. but you can download the MiUnlock tool only if you get the permission to unlock your bootloader from Mi. To apply for a bootloader unlock go here : en.miui.com/unlock )
Once the permission is obtained, download the MiUnlock Tool from the same link, and follow the instructions to unlock bootloader.
The unlocked bootloader is mandatory.
You have to follow all the steps given below once, you have an unlocked bootloader.
Before you perform the below steps, make sure you download the adb and fastboot for your Computer. Download them here : ( *** ) [ONLY FOR DEVICES RUNNING WINDOWS ]
Download the TWRP recovery file for Redmi Note 4 from here : ( *** )
NOTE: You can use either SuperSU or Magisk for rooting your phone. I personally prefer Magisk.
Download the SuperSU ZIP file from here : ( *** )
OR
Download the Magisk ZIP file from here : ( *** )
Once all these files are downloaded,
1> Place the SuperSU file OR Magisk file (whichever you choose) inside your internal storage directory of your mobile device.
2> Place the TWRP recovery file in the folder where the adb drivers (Platform Tools folder) have been downloaded on your computer. Then rename it as "twrp".
3>turn off your device. then switch it on by pressing the volume down button and the power button together.
leave the keys once your device vibrates. This will enable the fastboot mode. (For beginners, It will display a green coloured rabbit on your device with fastboot written ) Connect it to the PC once the fastboot mode is enabled.
4> Come back to your Computer and Open the folder where the adb drivers and the twrp recovery file is copied.
Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and then right click in the empty space of the folder window.
There will be a menu that pops up with some options. You have to click " Open Command Window Here "
This will open up the terminal/cmd on your computer. (NOTE: Steps given for a PC running the Windows OS only. )
5> In the terminal you have to type a few commands. Again make sure your device is properly connected to the computer and with fastboot mode enabled.
Note: Connect only 1 device running fastboot.
To verify connected devices enter command " fastboot devices " This will show available fastboot devices with a string of letters or numbers.
After verification of connected device,
First enter the command " fastboot flash recovery twrp.img"
Then hit enter.
(twrp can change according to your twrp recovery file name, if you have renamed it as i said above, no wories, carry on)
6> The terminal will indicate completion of the command. once this is done, type in
"fastboot boot twrp.img"
7> You device will restart and the twrp recovery will pop up on your mobile. Now you can disconnect your device from the computer.
8> In the twrp recovery screen click on install, and select the supersu ZIP file OR magisk ZIP file which you had placed in your internal storage. Then swipe to confirm the flash. It will be indicated when the flash is completed.
Once it's done, click clear cache/dalvik and swipe to confirm.
And hit reboot.
Voila! You now have a rooted Redmi Note 4 with TWRP recovery installed.
[
If you install the magisk ZIP or SuperSU ZIP, under some rare circumstances the app might not have installed on the phone. So you might have to download the apk once the phone has started.
Grab the Magisk Manager APK file here ( *** )
Grab the SuperSU APK file here ( *** )
]
[NOTE :
All the steps are important to be followed exactly. Do not mess up the steps or you might brick your device.
Here unlocking the bootloader is key. Do not ignore my Bootloader unlock thread. Otherwise rooting isn't possible.
This thread is a bit long, sorry for that. But it's written in an easy way so it's better for the new users.
Hope this helps guys. Follow the thread accurately, and it'll work perfectly well on your device.
Cheers.

[How to..] How to Unbrick CLT-L29C432... Here is the situation and solution.....

I bricked my phone after flahing EMUI 9.0 and subsequently First Ever ROM build 10/12/2018 as well. My phone was booting in to stock eRecovery only. Ofcourse I was able to boot in to bootloader / fastboot mode. I booked appointment with Huawei recommended service centre. I wanted to give one last try and finally gave life to my phone. Here is the steps that took through.
Note: These steps works for downgrading to EMUI 8.1 as well
For downgrading, skip all the steps and go to step 10 after flashing custom recovery explained in Step 7
Getting the device ready:
1. Download EMUI 9.0 from here https://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=CLT-L29C432&firmware_page=0//
2. Unzip the file UPDATE.APP from Update.zip
3. Using EMUI extraction tool extract following image files (see step 4 below) from UPDATE.APP. Download tool from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603873616
4. Extract, CUST.img, KERNEL.img, RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img and System.img and copy these files in the same folder where you have ADB tools. ## Create a folder ZIPS-HERE in the same folder where you have ADB tools (as explained in the section above) and put both update.zip and update_all_hw.zip in this ZIP-HERE folder.
## Download update_data_public.zip for EMUI 8.1 from this LINK and copy to the same ZIPS-HERE folder. You do not require update_data_public.zip for EMUI 9.0
## Download this nocheck.img file and copy it in to the same folder ZIPS-HERE. link here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603873636
## Issue following commands (you can copy and paste in the command window)
adb shell twrp decrypt
adb push ZIPS-HERE/update.zip /data/update/HWOTA/update.zip
adb push ZIPS-HERE/update_all_hw.zip /data/update/HWOTA/update_all_hw.zip
adb push ZIPS-HERE/update_data_public.zip /data/update/HWOTA/update_data_public.zip (this command line is not required for EMUI 8.1)
adb push ZIPS-HERE/nocheck.img /data/update/nocheck.img
adb shell "echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update.zip > /cache/recovery/command"
adb shell "echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update_all_hw.zip >> /cache/recovery/command"
adb shell "echo --update_package=/data/update/HWOTA/update_data_public.zip >> /cache/recovery/command"
adb shell dd if=/data/update/nocheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery_ramdisk
adb reboot recovery
WAIT AND WATCH THE FLASHING HAPPENING VIA HUAWEI eRecovery. Once done, restart your phone. Your phone is back to life.
So far I have soft bricked several times in the past few days and brought back to life. As long as Bootloader (fastboot) partition is not disturbed, we are good to recover our device.

Thank you very useful when needed
