[Q] Changing region and language of HTC one x

Hello Guys,
I am a newbie here & would appreciate your help in following matter.
I bought a HTC One X from Bangkok and i m using it in India now.I am facing following issues.
1. I suspect that the phone that i bought was AT &T locked phone earlier and i might have been cheated by the seller in this regard. My question is how do i confirm whether this is an AT&T unlocked Phone?
2. The language of applications installed on the Phone is chinese and i cant seem to get rid of the language even after changing the language from settings page. How do i get it to be in English completely?
3. Indian carrier SIM apart from CELLONE does not detect or register on any network here. and the SIM slot is a normal one not a micro SIM Slot. Does this Phone require any special kind of SIM card?
4. Even Google Play is not there. whenever i try to download anything a page in chinese opens up. And i do not know chinese.
4. Will rooting of my phone help in any of these regard? I even dont know whether this Phone was a rooted one.
Please Help somebody....
Thanks & regard..
Nix.

Well i am sure that its not a chinese knock off atleast.. but this may be AT&T unlocked, that i am confused about...
Got to<settings <about<software information. Take a screenshot and post here.
here is the screenshot.. plz help dude.. i am all confused right now
Looks like it could be a really old build of HK firmware, but the kernel date doesn't make sense.
Try flashing the latest HK RUU (1.29.708.15) http://www.filefactory.com/f/7cc7b2fbdd03c031/
I'll leave it to you to find a username and password that works, but it's been posted in this forum more than once.
Strange, Also you mentioned that the phone takes a full sized sim not micro sim. Check the HOX's spec sheet and you will find that they were manufactured with micro sim slot only.
Maybe it IS a knock off OR someone modded the build.prop and sold you a Desire X?
i am uploading my factory mode screen. Please see if you guys can help
The number of speaker holes are less that the genuine one x. I think you have been fooled. The Hboot that you have is different. Check the attached pic.
Well this just gets stranger and stranger.
Doesn't look like a real One X I'm afraid.

yeah, it definitely seems that i have been fooled now. Any ways, is there any way to know the device hardware configuration, so that i may be able to flash it to atleast use it here in India.
Is there any ROM compatible to any handset?? If so, Then how do i go with it?

I was trying to be sensitive in my previous posts, and felt for you. Best you leave the rom as is, chances are if you try flashing you could end up with a brick.
sorry to bring this post back to life.. but need help.
my cousin from europe gave me his old HTC One X for my parents to use. but they need that to be in traditional Chinese language system.
can someone help me? I have posted up the SW and kernal version for your reference.
Thank you.

[Q] Samsung Tab 3 8.0 SM-T310 firmware

Hi,
I work for a large electrical retailer and when new models come out they allow us to buy the demo units from the previous model at a reduced rate. (I'm more than happy to SS a receipt to prove the unit isn't stolen etc)
Normally I just disable the demo mode and reflash with a stock firmware that I get from samsmobile, however samsmobile seems to be having issues and the firmware gets to around 60% then interrupts and upon restarting says immediately that it is finished, of course its only got around 800mb of a 1.3gb dl. I have tried serveral times over the course of the past few weeks and from different locations but same thing happens.
I can't post in samsmobile forums as I'm not a premium member so don't have the permissions. Is there anywhere else I can get the official firmware?
Kind Regards

Please help LG-G4-H815 not booting up after a shutdown.

I need help, I've got LG-G4 H815 unlocked purchased from ebay brand new.
I had issue of phone warming up from time to time while charging or when I run waze and at the same time play music in car over Bluetooth.
Yesterday my phone shutdown on its own as it got too warm while I was driving.
After that phone is not restarting, I took off battery - let it cool down and tried charging it fully overnight but still looks like it is not restarting. I tried to do the hard reset and it wont even do that. All I see is the LG logo on screen and as I try to charge it using power cable provided by LG it warms up from time to time. The LG logo keeps coming and going from time to time as if phone is trying to reboot but nothing else happens after that.
Is there a way to fix this thing or I should contact Squaretrade for warranty call ?
Anyone can help with this please ?
I've tried putting in new battery assuming it was battery related issue. But all my phone does is reboots and brings to screen which says Android is starting....
It then tries to optimize different apps for Android. But nothing happens - after 10-15 minutes of optimizing app (at most it reaches count of 15-20 apps out of 84 apps) amd then once again phone reboots. This is going on in loop now.
It wont even allow me to factory reset phone using power button + down button combo. Is there any other way to fix this issue ?
Also I bought this online on ebay brand new, and this is H815 variant of device. So whom should I contact for warranty question ?
Will it go in to download mode? Plug it in to a PC whilst off and holding volume up.

If you can get to download mode, you can use the instructions in above link to reflash the phones software. If it still won't boot after a fresh firmware is installed, it's probably a hardware issue and you'll have to return it.
If you have the IMEI number noted, you can check to see if the software version for your specific handset is available here: http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/
Was it bought in the EU? If yes, contrary to popular belief, I'm almost certain the seller is responsible for the return for the first 6 months, but I'll need to double check that.

Thank you I tried using the firmware update to get it back to stock but looks like it is of no avail. Device still keeps rebooting.
I contacted LG for this issue and they wont touch the device because I'm in USA and this is international version of device. I bought this device off of Ebay probably 3 months back. So I don't think if I can contact seller for any exchange.
It might be worth contacting eBay to see what they say.
Did you use PayPal? They might offer some sort of protection.
Not sure what to suggest otherwise, sorry.

Thanks for your help. I will contact Paypal to see what can be done.
Do you know any other method to HARD reset device back to factory default apart from one in the link ?
Just that method. You're completely reflashing the software on the phone so if it was a software issue, that should have sorted it.
I also have the same problem and when contacted LG US support got the same response, saying its international version only LG UK can support it.
When contacted LG UK, they say they can send repair label only to UK addresses. Not sure what to do, been like this for almost 2months now

Samsung Galaxy Watch SM800X RETAIL MODE removal

Hello. I am totally new to this forum. Please help me. I am a complete novice.
I have purchased a galaxy watch at auction. It is in retail mode. I have looked everywhere for straightforward advice on what I can do to remove retail mode and make this watch work normally. I cannot even connect my phone.
Does anyone know where I can find this information in one place? Or where I can find a step by step tutorial to remove Retail mode, and make this watch functional normally. Is this possible or have I purchased a brick?
Thank you in advance
Sadly, I suspect you may have bought a dud. The retail devices very rarely contain the full technology to make the device work. This is certainly the case for phones, so I suspect its the same for smart watches. Someone may have a little more knowledge and hopefully prove me wrong. Good luck

Samsung S20 with a few shady problems

Hi, I bought a used Galaxy S20 from eBay and everything works fine except benchmarking apps wouldn’t install. Direct APKs don’t work either and the only suggestion I found is to clear Play Store which had no luck. The Galaxy Store works though but they’re mostly outdated or fringe benchmark apps.
Later I found that when I choose Emergency mode in the power off menu, it says “Can’t use Emergency mode on demo phone”. Nowhere else does it mention it’s a demo unit, including boot sequence and demo mode is off in developer options.
Last problem I found while troubleshooting more and found out on another site that the IMEI belongs to a Galaxy J5 Prime from Saudi Arabia... What can I do? Would flashing a firmware help with any of these problems? It’s a Canadian SM-G981W model and I would prefer to flash a US firmware without losing any data if it’s possible. Recovery mode+download mode both work and I don’t think the phone has been rooted as Knox doesn’t seem to be tripped. But I thought that you would need to root in order to fake/spoof IMEI?
Here’s a photo of the phone in download mode, I think it’s missing a few things including the OEM lock status.

Is this fishy or help solve the problems as I’m not super tech savvy Thanks in advance!
That's why nobody should buy a used phone off eBay.

Where should I buy them then? Swappa and Gazelle don’t deliver to Canada and traditional retailers are way overpriced. To be fair, the seller is pretty smart as the average Joe would probably never notice these issues as the phone works completely normal otherwise.
Return it.

I would lose out on shipping and the only phone I have and was using broke so that’s why I was replacing it with the S20...
