I'm using fosso transparent case and I'm afraid that the hardware keys might give up on me hence I never use them.i use the capacitive keys to lock and fingerprint to unlock but I need some App or a Nova launcher activity so that when clicked the volume menu pops up and I can control any volume I need without using the volume rockers..

If your rooted then you can use gmd gesture control to bring the volume panel with a gesture.
Or You can get a volume tile in the notification panel with Xposed and gravity box.
I don't know any non root app.

Look for "All in one gestures" app in Play Store.
Don't be fooled by the name: it does what you ask and some other interesting things; no root needed.

Is there any app to unlock screen easily?

Hi,
Is there any app to unlock the screen of HTC droid Incredible 2? To unlock the screen every time I have to push the power button, which I fear it may spoil the button. So, guys please suggest me any other way to unlock my phone (HTC droid Incredible 2) screen.
Most Roms usually have options to use the volume keys to unlock the phone. Its normally found in the tweaks or rom features via the settings menu.

^^This.
And you do know that that is the reason the power button is there, right? It's kinda like saying you don't wanna use the door to your house, and use the window instead because you don't want to wear out the door.

Well, having only one entry to house is very dangerous, you should also have a backup door: Just kidding

i believe widget locker has that option to unlock by the volume keys also there is a mod you can flash to the same.
you can also install mi locker wich gives you a bunch of different locks from miui alone with the option to unlock the phone by the volume keys

Thanks for your support. I tried MiLocker, it is good but has lot of bugs. Can you suggest any other locker which unlocks when pressing music keys?
Widget locker the only bad thing is that is a paid app there is also a no lock app. I'll look for the link and repost it

I can code the wake on volume keys MOD to ANY ROM, PM me if you need this..
Personally I can't run a ROM without this MOD, it's much easier for me to use the volume keys, and i use a widget to lock the phone, so i never even touch the power button.

is there any ways to unlock screen by the touch key ? ^^, i want to use all key to save all of them ^^
The app "No Lock" gets rid of your lock screen completely, so all you need to do is press the power button or a volume button if your ROM will let you. It is pretty cool, and should work without being rooted.

[Q] How to remove Front Touch Buttons?

Hello friends!
I got my LG G Pad Yesterday
Is there a way to remove the Front Touch Buttons? I couldn't see any options in Settings! Is it possible after rooting?
I plan to use only gestures for the front key button functions... May be we can use the screen real estate more effectively if we get rid of the buttons?
Any thoughts / suggestions?
I just installed an app called GMD Auto Hide from the Play Store. It provides an auto-hide feature for the touch buttons. It seems to work well, except that it overrides the setting on the phone that lets you change the button order. I want to set up the soft touch buttons so that the "back" key is on the right to match my Samsung phone. It appears that the GMD app doesn't have a setting for that. Too bad.
Does anybody know a way to get auto-hide and also customize the button positions?

Thanks for the quick reply.
With GMD auto hide, does the display get extended to the button area or the area just becomes blank?
I am thinking of using GMD gesture launcher to to replace the buttons...

It gets extended. I haven't used it very much yet, but it looks like it does the job, if you don't mind the button order.
Ok, I played with the app some more. When it replaces the soft touch keys, it puts a red line at the bottom. I did get it to put the back button on the right side, but another issue is that it puts a "recent apps" button where the menu button usually goes, then it puts a different menu button on the right edge. I wish it would l wish it had more options to set it up the way I want to.

I tried it, but it didn't work for me. The normal soft touch keys were not hidden.
GMD Gesture is fantastic. It hide autobar (your tab need to be rooted) and replace virtual button by gesture that you can define by yourself. Moreover, the developper is very reactive..

Thanks. GMD does the job quite well. I overlooked the status bar on/off part in GMD?

[Q] Torch on h/w button

I have an unrooted, locked, stock KitKat Z1c.
Is there a hack / mod that allows me to use a h/w button (like longpress on power or similar) to engage the torch without powering on the phone?
My old HTC used to do this, but I think it was a modification supplied by the Viper ROM. So, is this something that requires a completely different kernel/ROM or is an app sufficient?
You can do it with Xposed and GravityBox mod. But root is required for Xposed
OK, thanks a bunch!
I just checked now, you have to power on the screen first though.
I will look into it once I am rooted. I am sure I can find a way to make it work sufficiently for me
I think I know and understand what your requirements are, and I also was wondering the same thing.
A flashlight/torch is handy when you need it, and you don't want to have to unlock the phone one handed in the dark, when you need the torch the most, right?
The solution working best for me at the moment is using a flashlight widget on the lock screen. Not only that, re-order the widget so that, instead of getting the clock widget when pressing power, you get the flashlight widget placed in the middle, thus the default.
I don't use password or pattern lock on my phone, just the swipe to unlock.
Gravitybox (an xposed module) let's you hold volume down to activate the torch with the screen off or on the lockscreen.

Thanks again to the folks who replied. Now after rooting and digging into Xposed I have also found a dedicated module (called Xposed Torch). Gravitybox can also do it indeed, but only from lockscreen. The other one can fire it up on long press of h/w button without even powering on the screen, this is what I was looking for.

lol, I did, see post #2
Using an app called Torchie, just press both 'volume buttons' together to turn on/off torch anytime. It runs as a background service and just works anytime, even when screen off (if enabled from Torchie Settings). It kinda make your phone feel like a conventional battery operated torch. No root required.

Camera on lock screen?

Is it possible to enable the camera widget on the lock screen? I wasn't able to find any settings or a widget that I can add manually. I have a stock LGLS990. The camera was the tipping point for buying this phone, so it'd be nice to get the most use out of it.

You can hold down the volume down button while screen is off to quickly launch the camera. Aside from that, there are app shortcuts on an unsecure lockscreen. So if you use a secured lockscreen, the volume down shortcut is your best bet.

This works, thanks! My experience is the screen needs to be on when locked, and then pressing the Volume-Down button will launch the camera. Not as intuitive as swiping the lock screen widgets like Stock AOSP or CM, but still much quicker and more convenient than having to unlock the phone.
or set one of the quick access apps to the camera app :good:

One handed op back button

When I had the Note 4 Samsung had a control panel similar to pie controls (back, home, menu etc...) that you could swipe from the side panel. It was built into Touchwiz and It was really convenient.
I can't find the option on my Note 7. What gives?
I've tried other pie controls but I get the stupid "screen overlay detected" everytime another app asks for permissions.
Anyone know of a control app that doesn't make that screen overlay window pop up without rooting?
