I have a unique version g4 and am stuck in "ILAPO" with no warranty. - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. i have a few posts from a while back about rooting my g4.
It turned out i had some weird beta version of the bootloader on it but i was able to update and root it still.
Well, now just a few months later. My phone just starts restarting over and over and will not boot past the lg logo.
After some research i found that most g4 made before September of 2015 had this problem.
So i contact customer "support" and they cant find my imei in there system. After talking to 3 different people one of them finally said that it shows my phone is a beta phone made in 2011 so they cant honor a warranty.
They said that they wouldn't even have the parts to fix it if i were to pay.
They told me to contact lg Korea but couldn't give me any help in contacting them.
Anyways. I came across the fix https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg4/comments/45gfg2/dae_g4_series_msm_big_core_disable_tool_guide/
But it appears that my phone model h810 (att) is not supported.
Also im pretty sure i was on marshmallow (honestly cant remember).
Is there any known fix for the h810 that anybody knows of?
And if i try this and it does not work, will it prevent me from being able to recover my data if someone does make a port for it?
I downloaded the zip but i dont want to flash a tot for another phone on here yet.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I doubt it is an 2011 year model. Look at serial number behind battery. The first three numbers are manufacture date - for example 505. First number means year (5 - 2015), other two are month (05 - May). Maybe you might have provided Serial Number rather than IMEI for them.
As you still have locked bootloader, contact the place where you bought it as you should still have guarantee. Either they will take it to fix it or they should give you contacts for authorized repair.

to make the modded KDZ work on your at&t you need to renamed with hex program phone model. the kdz is for h815.... read this page..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lg-g4-stuck-bootloop-t3268734/page72
well you need to be on LP if you were on MM.
i guess youll still need to downgrade anyways. to be safe..

My serial starts with 503, when i first got it it had software vo9e but i updated since then.
Im not sure where they came up with 2011 but it would make sense . maybe 2013 as a beta test phone.

Yup. Now its really a brick. Dont try that.
Cant even boot into upgrade mode now.
It will vibrate as if it was turning on. but wont even show the lg screen.
Should have just put it in the oven. That made more sense.

Recover on from bootloop on H815 EU

Hi guys,
Yesterday I got sweaty hand palms.
My EU 815 G4 is unlocked, the official way, and I had rooted it.
Then I tried to install xposed from twrp and I did something wrong, and ended up in bootloop...
I have just updated to v20b before, and forgot to connect the phone to the PC, and allow the PC debug access before installing xposed, so i could see the phone in ADB mode, but couldn't access it.
Of course I hadn't made a backup before this - I like to cry
Just as a desperate try, when everything else had failed, i thought about using the new tool provided by shakeyabooti LG UP to flash the factory KDZ all over
I put the phone in SW. update mode by:
1. Turning off the phone
2. connecting USB cable to the PC
3. Press and hold vol. up while connecting the USB cable to the phone
Then i downloaded the v20b KDZ file, provided by Autoprime (since this was what i where allready running)
Opened LG UP, loaded the H81520B_00.kdz, marked REFURBISH
Lastly i pressed "Start" and waited for about 15-20 minutes and "TADAAAA"
The phone where up and running again... only things lost where root and TWRP
- Sharing since I'm properly not the only one ending up in this kind of mess
Just tried it no luck :/
So just to confirm...unlocking bootloader official way does void warranty and we can not send it in for repairs?

Indeed. Maybe you'll find a cool employee at your vendor who will still do it, but your warranty is definately void and they don't need to do anything. Depends on how acommodating the employee is. If you're stuck in a bootloop @rakinisbat just follow the steps in this thread.
And please keep in mind that there's a way to get out of bootloops 99% of the time (in fact 100% if it's a software related problem), you just have to do a good search on xda. Furthermore there's an uninstaller app for xposed in the official rovo89 thread, which you can flash via recovery and it which undos the xposed installation and your phone will boot fine (if you can access TWRP - just flash it). If you have further questions you can PM me, always happy to help

Thanks Mate, I guess ill have to try my luck with LG,
I have that batch of H815 with the faulty motherboard, unfortunately I'm in that 1% *Sigh* :crying:
Tried literally everything i could with the software, pretty much confirmed it is the motherboard.
It looks like the KDZ is flashing properly, as LGUP shows whichever kdz i put on, but the actual hardware is not capable of booting into the OS.

Oh yeah that really sounds like a hardware problem. Damn it LG! But is your bootloader still locked? You might have a chance to get a new one if it is And if it's a hardware prob you still have your warranty, haven't you?

Nope, my bootloader is unlocked, im a flash-a-holic, longest i have lasted without rooting or unlocking a bootloader is about 2 weeks. I would have never imagined such a massive hardware issue with a flagship phone. I'll probably get a nexus 6P atleast it has better support than a LG. I'm in Australia, I imported this phone when it was released, so i have to send this phone overseas if i want it repaired, which they will most likely deny.
Sooooo over LG now! There are like hundreds if not thousands that are effected they are not even acknowledging it or providing a viable solution.

Good luck with that nexus - it's an awesome phone, too. Bye bye
I've got the bootloop issue. Phone was turning on or not, just vibrating etc. I've dissassembled it, assembled again and it started working don't know why...Now I've flashed CM I was on Genisis ROM earlier maybe that was the issue

If i flash cm ,bootloop not happend again?
Thank you
It doesn't matter what firmware you have got. Bootloop is happening because of hardware failure.

I just connected the phone to LGBridge and it notified the marshmallow update. I dont' know why it flashed a h818 rom
Does anyone know if there is a way to put the H815 firmware back? right know it believes to be a h818 so it doesnt allow me to flash it. WIth the h818 doesnt even turn on right now
Is ur phone recently repaired by lg or did u bought it used ? Cuz there is no way lg bridge can make mistake on ur g4s varaint...either someone u bought off tried to change the buid prop file to make u believe its h815 or ur phone is refurbished/repaired using components n sensors of other model
I bought it from a guy and the phone was totally new ( it had all the protection film on it and even the box was sealed).
I'm starting to think it was regenerated but i dont understand how could it be the dual sim one.
Do you have any suggestion how to fix it? right now i can just uplad h818 firmware from lgup but of course they are not working

Its probably refurbished ...if i were u i wont try to tinker any software things u might probably brick it so most probably leave it as it is good thing to know that atleast ur phone wont bootlooop like the rest...try contacting the person u bought it from or check it if its under warranty by lg from him
Right now its already rebooting aftern turning on, so i can not se how could damage it more. Any suggestion for possible solution?

Help needed, company denying warranty due to rooting (never rooted)

Hello! First off, i have never rooted my LG G4 since i knew the phone was full of bootloop issues etc and i wanted to avoid exactly what is happening to me right now. I returned my phone to the service center last Friday because the screen's right side stopped displaying correctly (many colorful pixels with a perfect vertical border). On Tuesday they contacted me claiming the charge to repair is a whooping 244 euros due to it not being covered by warranty. After a lot of talking with LG over phone they claimed that in order for me to repair my phone free of charge i would have to provide them with proof that i have not rooted it (i dont know if that is even possible). Soon as i got it back in my hands (obviously denied the repair) i installed a root checker apk which stated my phone is not rooted (apparently thats not considered proof). However, the service center provided me with a photocopy of what their machine indicated, that i was rooted and told me that if i could return the phone without it being indicated as rooted i can repair it free of charge. I live in EU and i dont know how i could pressure them to repair it as is but the only other option i can see is flashing a factory stock firmware. What do you guys suggest i do? If i have to flash the stock firmware are there any dangers if i get the correct firmware for my model (h815 with the v20h-eur-xx software)?

no, bootloader is locked. They also denied any affiliation with the developer lg website until i pressured them more over phone, where they said they cant know if the bootloader website is official and because its not the only way to unlock the bootloader and root, the fact that i have never entered my imei there does not prove anything...

under European law, you should have the option to go to your dealer/phone company and demand that they have it repaired. I remember reading that signs of unlocked bl/rooting only affected claims where software could have damaged the phone (like overheated cpu). I don't see how software could kill the display, though.
So, maybe try this, but inform yourself if you are covered and, if you are, explicitly state to your vendor that you want it to be fixed under this law instead of warranty (which is not required and may be subject to arbitrary preconditions by LG)

why not go to lg direct?
unless there is complete indisputable evidence of root they cannot deny your claim.
plus lg suposedly has extended waranty to 2 years again if bootloaders never been unlocked flash stock firmware they will never know
tell them to do there studies if ure not on a rootable firmware anyways no way that u could have been rooted
unless u bought the phone used and someone else did something major to it?

I talked about it directly with the bobs at lg customer support and they claimed the above.
phone was bought in a sealed box... Thats what is weird... I flashed the official v20d firmware kdz via lgup software update. I would love to flash a tot file since its prolly more thorough (pure speculation) but it seems theres no europian 6.0 tot... Anyway, now i installed the other official firmware (phone started spamming me with "update... stopped working and that google services stopped working) i factory reset and it seems to be running smooth. Will try taking it to the service center again tomorrow and see from there... (every visit not covered by warranty costs 7 euro....)

how old is the phone?
If it is less than 6 months after buying it that you notified them of this error, they have to prove (not claim) that the error was caused by you.

sadly i have the phone for a bit less than a year...
In the end i flashed the v20d software version and took it back to them. They accepted to repair it under warranty due to it not being rooted. (They also suggested to me from the service center to flash a stock firmware... Thankfully i had used xda in the past but a casual user would have it tough...) Now im waiting for them to receive the mobo from LG... So thanks everyone for your support
P.S. Woman at service center insisted some playstore apps root your device. She knew 2. When i asked she replied ... Buybox and superuser. I just smiled and left

Honor 7x volte problem.

I am in a very big problem.
Read carefully if you want to help me.
I rooted my honor 7x for trying the aosp 8.0 oreo rom i found that rom very intresting and very awesome i cant complain as it was its initial stage.
But then i moved to the official firmware of honor 7x but after flashing that from pc many functions got extinct...
Like-no volte
No update app
No system files app
And many other apps
Though i am okay with the app but cant live without volte if there is someone who knows the solution please help me.
Thanx in advance
My phone number- MOD EDIT: I removed your phone number. It's a bad idea to give away your phone number on a public forum with over 8 million members.
Did you flash original firmware? Has your build number changed?

Did you go back to the exact same firmware?
What is the buildnumber before and after, is it the same?
How did you go back to stock?
Because I was in the same position and tried flashing some dts.img etc. image files from some other variant and completely bricked the phone. Had to take it to service centre and replace motherboard. Only then they could flash stock rom.
Yes the build number have changed
I searched the whole internet but i cant find one so flashed some other like same firmware but as i told the features were missing. Can you tell how much they costed you to replace the motherboard...thanx for replying.
Thanqu

Oh my God! the world is round! I was in the exact same position yesterday as you are now! Only blunder I did was to flash some more img files and totally brick the phone. You still have hope as you asked for help before trying anything stupid!
You can directly go to service centre and get it flashed without any motherboard replacement. They should be able to power the phone up, that is all. Mine was totally dead.
By the way, mine was under warranty and there were not many technical people at the front desk of the service centre. So I did not have to lie and did not mention unlocked boot loader etc. Just told them I tried to flash a software update of different variant and that bricked the phone (which is true). So they changed the motherboard for free! didn't take a single penny.

What is the buildnumber before and after, is it the same?
How did you go back to stock?
Because I was in the same position and tried flashing some dts.img etc. image files from some other variant and completely bricked the phone. Had to take it to service centre and replace motherboard. Only then they could flash stock rom.

Question [fixed] rooted a325m suddenly no imei, no sim

I rooted my a325m by patching the stock AP file with magisk, had to use FRP hijacker by hagard to be able to flash the patched file. I root uninstalled several apps for debloating. The phone worked fine for like a couple of weeks, and now, suddenly I find there's the no SIM indication, and in settings -> about phone it says IMEI: unknown, and in software information it says bandbase version: unknown.
The firmware version I used was exactly the same as when I bought it, A325MUBU2AUJ4, with the right csc (ARO in my case).
EDIT: after a couple reboots, the bandbase version now shows, but still no IMEI or SIM detected.
Can anyone help me? What happened? What can I do? Thanks in advance!
flash all the with odin the correct rom. the twrp unstable and more like shell and who knows what bugs have magisk. until why have a good recovery i would no root my phone reallly if you want to unisstall the software from samsung and google i would say to use the universal debload https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater.
UPDATE: it got unknown baseband againI
I relocked the bootloader and now in download mode I have an option to "show barcodes" pressing the side button. The barcodes show the right IMEI and serial number. Maybe stuff wasn't erased, just inaccesible by the rom?
I was told by a technician to flash the original ROM (already did) then root again. Tried several versions but not an older bandbase because downgrade is forbidden by the bootloader, apparently, to no avail. Would try a newer baseband but i'm afraid it will not work and will be unable to go back to the origial baseband version.
Weird thing is, there is the EFS directory but no /data/nvram or /dev/nvram
Same happened to me.
I tried everything I could think of to get the IMEI back and couldn't.
It was still under warranty and I took it to Samsung.
Before taking it I unrooted it and locked it again.
They fixed it for me with no problem.

How did you root it?
as I understand, after rooting, warranty is void since it implies flashing a magisk patched boot image or AP tar. In my case I was indeed able to relock the bootloader and flash the original firmware but upon entering download mode, it shows "warranty void 0x01".
was it the same in your case?
Flashed original firmware, relocked phone, and then went to Samsung Office. I had no problem with it

most likely the warranty vod bit was on (you can check it yoursef by entering odin mode) and they didn't notice
so you got it fixed for free?
did they mention what did the fix consist in? I heard they say they change the motherboard, which is a lie, they just write the nvram or efs with the right stuff
ah sos de argentina? lol where did you take it? to a samsung store? I'm from neuquen and got it at musimundo, but here's a samgung store too
myself i was thinking of waiting for an update which should be soon, lock bootloader, flash some official rom and pull off the cable so it gives an upgrade error and doesn't enter download mode, then take it to the store
Unroot before update and unlock
wipe the cache partition . then reset the phone using recovery mode . this is at you own risk .
did you fix it?

nope, went to samsung, got rejected cause warranty bit on, no choice but take it to a service and I suppose they could do something with Chimera Tool, Z3X or something like that, which, as I've seen, claims to fix it in minutes (and the client gets charged handsomely, like 100 USD)
From Samsung I got the same bullsh*t I read in some threads: "this phone has been tampered with and it's a hardware problem, the board must be replaced"
For the technically savvy, I got a strange Magisk log which kind of looks like it may be the problem. It seems to try to "unlock"* some devices on bootup but gets "permission denied". One of them may be the nvram or something like that. I have an EFS directory but no NVRAM directory anywhere or /dev/nvram.
very strange, i guess we gotta not use magisk until its bug fixed.. i have seen other people have the same problem too, but anyways, i sent my phone to get probably JTagged for 54 us dollars, if they fix it well, great right, but if they dont i guess ill have to buy another motherboard from samsung or go to another city... and the best part is that while my phone is there, im using an S4 mini from 2013 with custom android 11 rom hehe
i saw that auh firmware causes empty imei in another thread and to flash aug, maybe you could try this? https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/has-anyone-successfully-rooted-this-a32-4g.4326193/post-85788523

or atleast use magisk with aug or even older firmware if you can... is your a32 A325M or A325F?
well, your firmware is A325MUB"U2"AUJ4 and that means u cant downgrade to older versions that have binary1 so maybe you could try using samsung's new version which was released past month

I found it impossible to downgrade, download mode doesn't allow it. Couldn't find a tutorial to do it either.
