I think you use a wrong TWRP, that's why your device boot into TWRP !
Here is the right SuperSU for flash on Android MM .
Good luck !

TWRP install on G4 H815 20A mm, doesn't stick (unlocked bootloader by LG official)

Hi,
I get TWRP running on phone , but when I boot into recovery , I always get the Standard Recovery, only option being a factory reset. Have opted for this factory reset and that is exactly what I get, no TWRP :crying:
Thanks
Also if you reboot to recovery through TWRP itself, it won't stick? If not: Is rooting an option for you? If yes: Try Flashify and flash it through this nifty little app .

Update on getting TWRP to stick. ......... I had success using following
adb reboot bootloader

fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-h815.img

This happened to me, too. Here is what i did:
Boot your device into fastboot mode via adb, straight up boot to recovery ("fastboot boot twrp-2.8.7.0-h815.img"), transfer the recovery image to your device, then flash it from within TWRP (there is an option for that within the normal install menu, its called "install image" or something like that). Hope this helps, it did for me.
Edit: Just realized you already found a solution. Never mind.
Ive the same problem. I unlocked the bootloader by the official procedure. Then i tried to flash twrp but it doesnt install truly. It always appear the stock recovery. I tried also clockrecovery but nothing. No recovery wants to get installed. Pls help me i want a custom rom on my g4
use twrp v2.8.7.0 on 20A mm....... adb reboot bootloader, fastboot boot twrp-2.8.7.0-h815.img, and to double check you have recovery, adb reboot recovery and then flash STOCK-20a-ROOTED

you can upgrade twrp with the twrp manager from playstore (once youve got twrp and root of course)

Dirty Flashed?
You need to flash twrp recovery through your computer again.
boot into the recovery
after that clear cache/dalvik/art , data , system
flash your rom
done.

modified TWRP not booting

Hi! Sorry about my english.
I have a problem with my oneplus 3.
Did the unbrick with msmdownload tool, worked.
Bootloader is unlocked.
Did the fastboot recovery flash of the modified twrp 3.0.2-1.28
When i want to start twrp it stucks at one plus logo screen.
When i flash an older twrp version (don´t know which one, 3.0.2.1) it boot into twrp. but i cant flash any rom. Its getting stucked at installing (tried a view roms).
What did i wrong?

Are you on OOS4? If so try 3.0.2.19 of TWRP or the bluspark version 11 by eng.stk
no, @ stock OOS 3.2.8
ok did the update to oos 4.0 now.
and doestn work...
i have no idea
Try: "fastboot erase recovery" then "fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img".
Otherwise try re-downloading it.
thanks, but no success
when i flash modified twrp, get stuck into booting to twrp.
after rebooting oos4 and reboot to recovery, original recovery is getting started.
Tried everything now for hours. Without getting a working twrp. Has anyone the same problem?

I have the same issue, I'm on OOS4.0.1 and TWRP won't boot, tried the blu sparks one and the one included in the toolkit 3.7
Neither would boot, just stuck at their splash screens. I'm also looking for an answer.
do you have the dm-verity screen too at booting?

I recently posted a guide to solves issues like that. Here it is: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-flashing-oos-v4-0-1-custom-rom-t3537757
I hope it helps.
There is a lot of reading there. So, read it carefully before proceeding any further.

Unless is missed something, I am pretty sure that there is no TWRP fully working with Oreo yet. If you want to go back to stock recovery then you should just flash the full OxygenOS zip.
