AT&T G4 replacement on 6.0 - is root available or do I have to downgrade to 5.x? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I received my refurbished replacement for my bootlooped G4 from AT&T.
In the end, I want a rooted handset. I really don't care if it's on Android 6.0 or 5.x.
I see that 6.0 is difficult to root natively because it requires an unlocked bootloader.
My previous G4 was on 5.x, so I was able to root it with the published methods in this forum.
I can't seem to find a straight answer though - is it possible to downgrade my G4 from 6.0 to 5.x, so I can then root??
If so - which is the best method?

Also wanted to note, my LG G4 came with
Software Version: H810 21Y
I checked the anti rollback, and it's on V3
Am I screwed for root?

yes you can.. but now that the antirollback is at v3 .. am not so sure you can.. at least for h811 tmo i can only go to 10N lollipop atrollback v2 and MM 20i antirollback v2... so seems to me that you cant.

LG G4 VS98611A Marshmallow Root Update

So I currently am running Android 5.1 with Root. What do I need to do to upgrade to 6.0? Is there any special step? Do I have to unroot and re-root? Let me know.
First, Marshmallow has not yet been released for the Verizon G4 (VS986). So you cannot upgrade to MM at this time and will have to wait for Verizon to release the update. Nobody knows when that will be, but as of yesterday, all 3 other major carriers have released MM for their G4s.
Second, you will not be able to root Marshmallow on the VS986 since that particular model has a locked bootloader. With Marshmallow, Google added some new flags to the boot.img (kernel and ramdisk) to prevent root that have to be flipped in order to allow root, otherwise you just bootloop. But without an unlocked bootloader, you will not be able to flash a custom boot.img. Without an unlocked bootloader, there is little hope at this time for root on the stock LG Marshmallow ROM. If you want to keep root, you need to stay on 5.1.

ROOT for F400K 6.0 MARSHMALLOW

Is there any known good method for rooting an LG G3 F400K running 6.0 ?
Reason I ask is that I have tried a few, none seem to work? Updates to most of them were around 2 years ago?
If you are on v30n firmware is impossible to root, for moment, and you need to revert to an older version on firmware , if lg flash tool don't work, give a try to lg up
F400K30i
Thanks for the reply. I'm on F400K30i.
Do you know which versions can be rooted? (obviously not 30n)
any update that how to root lg g3 MM v 30i..?

first i want you to know that . h811 have antirollback. means if you flash a higher version you cant go back or hard bricked..
so am aware of LP 10n is V2 and so is MM20i you can flash and change from LP to MM or MM to LP only if you stay in this version LP 10n -MM 20i
now if you flash 20o MM thats V3 you cant go back to 10n or 20i.
once in MM 20o you can flash latest MM 20p wich is V3 also so in this case you can change from 20o-20p MM
now you must doenload LGUP search for it .. and decide wich version you want to be on.. and search for that version KDZ.
install drivers i think you can find it on LGUP thread. install LGUP , doenload the KDZ you want to use.
and follow each step.
Ok i get it .. But is there is any reason to downgrade from mm to lp...

NEW Root Possibility on MM for G4?

I'm new to here.
Actually, I purchased G4 yesterday and was looking for root on MM and turned out it's not possible on MM.
Then I stumbled upon following G5's root thread (Yes, G5 got rooted recently!).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/guide-adb-root-rw-dm-verity-off-sprint-t3523499
As OP of G5's root has mentioned "it seems that this userdebug kernel actually works on all devices running antirollback v0 and running Marshmallow!"
I just verified in my G4 it has antirollback v0 and we are on MM so it looks like we can root G4 same as G5 got rooted recently.
Any thoughts?
It's not important when you can root your G4 on 5.1 LP
It's important to get the bootloader unlocked

You can check antirollback version in hidden menu *#*#244773825625#*#*

That doesn't seem to work for Verizon VS986.
I would be happy with root only, adaway, system uninstaller to debloat, compatibility with more apps

Verizons always been good at disabling the hidden menu.... You go verizon. Not. Ive been reading up on this For the g5.
Been looking at getting another g4. Im sure if i do get one itll be on mm
Might buy one just to try it out.
It would matter if we had a userdebug kdz for G4...
So I have a G4 back on LP with v0 bootloader on Verizon that I haven't used in months. What benefit does this method provide?
