G930A_PF2_Stock_DeOdexed_Debloated_ROM (7/12/2016) - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries,

**You can begin the following process from any Build but you must already have Root Access**
**Required** [root] FlashFire
Download:
- G930A_PF2_Stock_DeOdexed_Debloated_ROM.zip
1. Place the ROM onto your device (use either internal or ext-sdcard).
2. Open the FlashFire app, grant root access, and "Agree" to the Terms and Conditions.
3. Press "(+)" twice to bring up the "Actions" menu.
4. Press "Flash Zip or OTA" and locate and select the ROM. Use the default settings under the "Options" menu and press the checkmark to continue.
5. From the main menu Uncheck all options under "EverRoot" and set "Reboot" to "Download."
6. Press the lightning bolt then "Ok" to begin the flash . The screen will turn black then display the contents of your system before beginning the flash. FlashFire will pause for about 1 minute while flashing the "system" partition.
7. Once the flash is complete and the device reboots into "Download" mode, flash the G930A_PF2_Stock_Modem_Recovery_Bootloader using Odin's AP slot. The device will take 10 - 15 mins for the first boot!
8. To regain root access, re-run "root.bat" once the device has fully rebooted. Make certain usb debugging is enabled. Enjoy!
Tip: for blazing fast speed turn off animations from Developer Options and reboot!
Notes:
1. The above process will not affect your Knox Warranty Flag.
2. The above process will update your Modem, Non-hlos, System, Bootloader, and Stock Recovery.
3. The ROM will automatically wipe all User Data!
4. Follow this guide if you do not already have root access: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-...g935a-t3410538

Will it work for g935a? And does it fix lag?

Awesome!

Ok how many folks have successfully flashed this?
It's still using eng boot? And will I be able to update super su script once installed? Also curious if maybe deodexed means I can get v4a running on this bad boy sorry for the question blast just excited to see the att s7 taking off into #root =D in Texas it goes "y'all got root?!"

I can confirm. This flashes!
I needed to run root.bat twice to get it to take, but everything is working, AND...
Knox still reads 0x0!

Noticing any difference from original Rom performance wise? I'm thinking about joining ya but I got this thing running so buttery smooth I don't want to fix it if it ain't broke.

Do you fix the lag?

I think I am. It's either this Rom or the eng bootloader, but it runs hotter. It's running in interactive governor but cpu temperature is averaging idle at 45°c whereas on stock it felt much cooler. Something about this installation is causing this thing to heat up.

Okay, I figured it out guys.
After flashing, rooting, and starting to set it up, you will probably notice it feels a bit sluggish and runs hot, even after correcting the CPU governor to Interactive.
I believe I found the fix over in the Verizon S7 area.
Head to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=67605246
And follow the directions in the Recommended Next Steps section. I flashed the Fix and Debloater zip, and my phone is now fast and running very cool.
OP may need to consider adding this tip to the OP.

Ok thank you. Figured so but just wanted to make sure. I'm downloading the Rom now. Glad you found the fix and debloat from the Verizon thread, I seen that the other day and used it and his other guide on how to set up Greenify and amplify. My phone is running awesome on the stock rooted but I always like to grab muniz's deodex versions and run them.

Also, if you want to get rid of the Custom icon on boot and reset it to Official in status, use the XTouchWiz xposed module.

Is this rooted? Id love to flash a deodex, debloated rom but have no root on it...

" To regain root access, re-run "root.bat" once the device has fully rebooted. Make certain usb debugging is enabled. Enjoy! " is copy pasted from the OP so that would imply that it isn't rooted until you root it, as for why you would want a deodexed Rom (which is a performance hit) without root is beyond me. From what I gather reading this short thread you will need root and possibly even xposed to get it running right. In order to do that you would have to do some more reading. Hope this helps.

Don't needed. You can root the normal cf-auto-root with latest sock without problem.
After we pm chat last days about rollback to T900UEUAND4 as unique possibility for rooting, i decided to do a last try before that, and luckily works perfect:
-just did a factory reset to restore from B3 recovery i been trying to prev installed T900UEUANI1 stock, wipe caché with stock recovery, odined cf-auto-root and voilá, just rooted!
No need to do the old B3-rollback-prior-D4 method now. Just a normal auto-root with no hassling.

When putting the tablet into sleep mode, it will automatically shut itself down. When I try to turn it back on, the tablet will only do so after I plugged in the charger. The battery itself is fully charged.
I've updated to the latest available firmware version that's available to me. I couldn't find any list of known issues, so I'm wondering if this is a common problem and if I should return my tablet?

Same here. It seems that the problem maybe is temperature: after some time charging it gets really hot and maybe can't awake from that and need rebooting.
I've disabled the magnet sensor vía 3rd app to off the close-lid functionality but don't improve the problem.
Here in summer the room gets to +30°c and the Tab ups to almost 65°c when it gets hot!
Maybe it just reach the temp threshold and self shutdown, or intend that not letting awake.
Perhaps CM11 build here charges battery too fast, with higher voltage than allowed and provoque overheating. I mean, i really feels that it's charging real fast..
Well currently its winter and cold. My tab was cool but it does not respond after deep sleep unless i reboot. Dev said he will look into it and i will wait. Not sure if temp is cause as mine was not definitely not hot.

Posted update last night, check it out
Thanks, btw, i was able to use ODIN to get a good version of TWRP and the ROM installed smoothly. I have encountered a few small bugs but nothing to report that is new. I noticed the "sleep of death" I think you are referring to, deep sleep resulting in a manual reboot to wake up. I have noticed my bluetooth disconnects and reconnects every few minutes during deep sleep..not sure why. will report back. Thanks SO SO much for the development, i love it, so sick of the green and blue and the settings tabs on this stock OS disgust me. I am curious tho, am I the only one who noticed significant slowdown and lag compared to stock? I do not put a lot of stock in benchmarks (skewed toward uncle sammy) but they also showed big slowdown....just my very humble and grateful early experiences. Thanks again.

Well there's a problem right now, seems that this rom prevent to enter recovery.., this is what happen to me:
Reboot from Android with 'reboot to recovery' option and when the TWRP splash logo shows it enter in a bootloop always to this instance that TWRP logo appears.
Then i just installed the good old UAND4 rom and it works fine.
Maybe i shouldn't go to recovery direct from android to prevent bootloop happen and try to go the normal way from boot.
Don't know, maybe I'll try some day.., or maybe better wait to Android L comes to us.
Please advice all that stuff in the respective threads, i can't.., cause' these 'noobs-wait-to-10-posting-before' rules..

1. You can "dirty"-flash (install w/o wiping) the new ROM over the old one - nothing to re-install - if you wish you could extract the kernel (boot.img) and flash it by Flashify
2. There haven't been reported any SOD issues after flashing chhaggerty's latest ROM version
3. I have had no issues with with TWRP after having flashed the KOT49H.T900UEUANI1 - I just assume that some parts of the Firmware, not touched by cm, has been improved (but since this is WIFI only, it might not be the case for a non phone device) why I preferred to make the update.

The changes done between the two versions (99% sure) was only some modifications in the kernel-code. Why flashing the kernel only should be fine, it will resolve the SOD and also make it run cooler. But if you wish you can also dirty-flash. However, cover your bases with a full back-up.
No issues at all with the reboot to recovery option

HERE it is
unzip the downloaded file
place boot.img on your SD
use Flashify to flash the kernel
after this I believe flashify will boot you up in recovery, just reboot and you should be good to go.
Just remember to make a back-up for just in case...

flashing screen, powering down...
I have twrp 2.8, v2 of our Cyanogenmod, set processor to on demand as suggested...
Still when I play games like CoC and others, if I am not plugged in even with a lot of bat% left, I get a flashing screen and occasionally my tab just decides it needs to shut off.
Any thoughts on what to do? I have greenify and Xposed installed too...
It pretty frustrating.

My guess is that gaming need more power, why I would stop greeify and reset the governor to interactive while gaming. But other than that I have no ideas, as I haven't heard of this problem before.
This ROM is fantastic! Smooth, fast, responsive and just as described...big thanks.

Thanks for another quality update, notably when reading how other cm11 exynos versions always seems to break something. With your T-900 cm11, I have never had any issues. The latest version is still running smooth, the changes in the CPU governor will probably allow for better battery life with the added conservative setting. However, I don't know what trade-off this will have on performance.

Maybe they start to use the big.LITTLE behavior of the Exynos, instead of ever using just the full power a15 cluster (battery eater).
I've haven't tried it but since it's a 4.4.4 rom they should work fine.
Error flashing ROM
Hi guys,
I get this error message when I try to flash CM11:
"Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset"
This is a brand new rooted SMT-900 Tab Pro 12.2". Here's some notes:
- I received the error using V1, V2, and V3, all receive the error message
- I downloaded two copies of v3 from two separate mirrors (CA and AZ), both receive the error message
- I did a factory reset and still received the error message
- Wiped davlik/cache/system partitions
- Tried on TWRP 2.7 and 2.8, both receive same error message
- All I have done to this tablet is root it, install TWRP, and create one backup
Any thoughts? I can try using CWM if someone can give me a quick overview of how to install it and remove TWRP (or keep TWRP).

How I Rooted my S7 on Nougat. PlayStore ROM V3 *outdated but still working*

*I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR ANY OF THIS, IM JUST TELLING HOW I DID IT. I AM ALSO NOT GUARANTEING YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME OUTCOME*
*I recommend going to this new update guide by CVertigo1 in the ROM's section as this version of the PlayStore ROM is outdated.*
Credit for Root and PlayStore Rom goes to jrkruse (https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1949695)
ROOTING
1)Flashed stock Nougat ROM
2)Flashed ENG-ROOT found here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767141717
- Make sure to flash the correct kernel included in the zip file
3) Install SuperSU. Link: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862710010
- I used the regular Root.bat not the one with tweaks
FIXING LAG
1)Install Flashfire from PlayStore
2)Download the PlayStore Rom from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767144652
-Transfer the file to the S7
3)Open Flashfire and flash the zip choosing only Mount/ system read/write
4)Now AROMA Installer will pop up and go through all of the terms and conditions
-When asked what to wipe I choose to wipe everything
-Next when asked what bloat to remove I choose the PlayStore Rom which removes all bloat and replaces stock apps with google apps (To see full list of changes refer to the PlayStore thread)
5)Now when my S7 boot it showed no launcher, I simply held the home button down which opened the google search, in there I searched for the playstore app and installed Nova Launcher.
-Now reinstall SuperSU by double clicking the root.bat like before
6) Installed the following apps to help with lag; Lspeed, Greenify, Kernal Auditor, LeanDroid, Force Doze, and SSD Boost
-I used most of the settings found on Lag fix threads for the MM root
My S7 is smooth as butter after all of this, no lag spikes and random crashes like I was experiencing with just the ENG Root flashed.
EXTRA
1)I did have to to a reboot to get the camera to work properly
2) I had to download a Dialer/Contacts and Message app from the playstore because the stock ones were deleted in this process. But the store ones work just fine, I am recieving calls and messages like normal.
3) *Battery life is just a little worse than stock, might be worth waiting for Xposed to released for Nougat.*

Weird, did you wipe your S7 completely before doing the process? I would flash fresh nougat and try again.
UPDATE
Went through the entire process once more and found that wiping but keeping SU image works the best, I chose "no wipe" but it caused random reboots. I then wiped my phone and did as stated in my original post and it is working smooth once again.

Did you start on a factory fresh Nougat? It must be trying to run the setup that you first have to do when you get/wipe your phone. But you should have already done this prior IF you wiped your phone completely and started from there.

I've got it all in working order, but to address the issue.
It was just straight after using the first Odin file. (Flashed ENG-ROOT)
Although with hours of sitting here and determination, I came to a solution using this post and many others.
I now have my S7 (Verizon) rooted and functioning with no issues.

I haven't rooted a phone in a few years but I feel like I missed a fundamental step of the root process so I have a stupid question: I get to the rom flashing step and my phone can't reboot because "Custom binary locked by SECURE BOOT (boot.img)." Then I reflash the ENG-ROOT boot.img and that same secure boot blocks because of the custom modem binary. So I just reflashed stock to get it working again, but it still gives that message if I try to install something like magisk. Am I missing something?

You cannot use any custom kernels on us snapdragon models. No magisk or anything. The only root option is engboot and root.bat plus the setups to smooth it out or no root at all

How many here are rooted/running custom ROMS?

I used to be extremely heavy into the rooting game. I started with the Galaxy s2 all the way to the Note 5 but then it kind of seemed to me like rooting lost some of it's appeal and development seemed to slow down for some devices. After the Note 7 issue with the recall I switched to iPhone for a little while. I am back now though and I'm highly looking into rooting. I see the Pixel XL has tons of development and am just wondering what do you guys think, is it worth it to root? Many people I have talked to say Android has come so far, that it's not really even necessary anymore. What are the Pro's/cons?
If this is a topic that has been posted before, I apologize, I tried looking and couldn't find anything. Also, this is my first stock google phone, in the past I have always been a galaxy/note user.

I still root because of theming and my call regarding app. Imo, custom roms are still smoother.

I was always a huge fan of theming! Hmm, perhaps it's time to pull the trigger!
I've always rooted every device, starting with my HTC Hero years ago, but I have to admit, the stock Pixel experience was the first time where I've had to ask myself is it really worth it this time.
So I tried it un-rooted for a couple of months, (which is a personal record for me!) and I loved it. But I eventually made the decision to root because I missed:
1)Dark U. I (Using Substratum)
2 Adaway Adblocker
3)Custom Roms
Now I'm on PureNexus, and couldn't be happier.
With Google seemingly tightening the screw by making it harder to modify our devices, I just hope Root access will continue to be available to me in the future.
Just like buzzboy for the most part:
- Theming. (Domination from daveyannihilation on the playstore)
- Ad blocker.
- Custom ROM.
- For pushing theme ready apps to system/data partition.
- Kernel manager app (EXKM)
- Certainly other things I forget right now...
Cheers...

No, no and no! Don't go on YouTube when you have the best on XDA. That doesn't make sense...
Download TWRP: https://dl.twrp.me/marlin/twrp-3.0.2-0-RC1-fastboot-marlin.img
Download SuperSU 2.79 sr3: https://download.chainfire.eu/1021/SuperSU/SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742.zip?retrieve_file=1
And place in the root of your internal storage
Reboot your phone in bootloader.
You must have latest ADB/fastboot from Google: https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip
Unzip it and place TWRP image inside platform tools folder with ADB/fastboot.
Open a command prompt on your computer and boot into TWRP:
fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-0-RC1-fastboot-marlin.img
It will boot TWRP. Once booted, tap "install" and select SuperSU. Swipe to install and let it do its job.
Once done, just reboot. It will likely reboot two or three times. Don't worry, that's normal. You'll have Root with full stock. TWRP will vanish after the reboot.
Don't try to flash this TWRP image or you may have to reflash a full stock image... Read TWRP thread for more infos!
I think you could have found the same how-to here either in the guide or Q/A section though... :good:
Good luck...

I've followed Max Lee's videos many times before and they have always worked. I guess I shouldn't have. What I did was download fastboot, the root marlin pixel and the usb driver and basically boot into the stock recovery by holding down power and volume down and doing the comman in command prompt to unlock the bootloader and then boot to root.img now it's stuck in a bootloop

You used the old root method for 7.1
If you know how to flash a Kernel then flash the factory Kernel and then use the directions above. If you dont the easiest way is ro just flash back to stock without a data wipe. First post in thw thread below.

No offence here. Just, the method you tried is not up to date... If you took the time to search a little bit before proceeding you would have known that. All infos you need to flash/root/mod are most likely already posted here. All questions have already been answered as well. Use the search function next time or at least, wait for someone to reply :good:

G930A_QE1_Stock_Deodexed_Rooted_ROM

This is my first ever ROM to post up. I just recently started building them. This is a stock deodexed Nougat ROM that is pre rooted. It is 100% AT&T Nougat with just a few fixes. I have left all Samsung and AT&T bloat for those that want all the bloat but like to be rooted and deodexed.
Follow the steps below for installation:
Step 1: You must already be on Nougat firmware. There are various threads on how to do this but if you can not figure it out just ask and i will try to assist you the best i can.
Step 2: Once on Nougat, root your device. Follow this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eres-how-rooted-nougat-s7-edge-g935t-t3567502
Step 3: Once Rooted, install Flash fire from playstore.
Step 4: Open Flashfire and grant SuperSU access, once you are at the main menu, press the + and select Flash ZIP or OTA, go to the place you stored the ROM and selecet it. On the next screen MAKE SURE "Mount /system read/write" is selected and click the check mark in the upper right hand corner.
Step 5: Click the + sign again and select "Wipe", leave the defaulted boxes checked (System data, 3rd party apps, and Dalvik cache) and click the check mark in the upper right corner again. ( optional, you can select internal storage but you don't have to).
Step 6: VERY VERY IMPORTANT, select and hold down on Wipe and move it above "Flash ZIP or OTA"
Step 7: Make sure EverRoot is disabled and Reboot is set to normal.
Step 8: Click the lightning bolt and then yes on the next prompt, and let FF do it's thing.
*****Be patient, it will take up to 15 min to boot but most times it is quicker than that.*****

This is 100% stock rooted, deodex, if it didn't work on stock unrooted, chances are that it don't work on this one either.
Hello, I've flashed the rom and loving it so far, it is buttery smooth and seems to have the same battery drain as in stock, but two problems... Every reboot or when I just turn off the wifi, it forgets the password. I've tried build prop editor and set ro.securestorage.suppprt to false, but no success. Another problem, Blutooth won't turn on. It used to before I changed the build prop, but now, it just doesn't turn on. I'm not sure if it is a problem with nougat root or your rom itself, I would love some answers. Otherwise the rom is great and I hope you continue to update it as there isn't a lot of development in AT&T.

Thank you for your feedback. I have experienced the Bluetooth issue on another more custom rom that I'm building, i haven't pin pointed it yet but am still working on it. I was originally thinking it had something to do with something that i removed from the rom (bloat) because when i run this rom with all the bloat i didn't have the issue. I will switch back to this rom and run it for a few days and see if the issue pops back up. As for the WiFi password, i have no problem with that and i have mine set to "true". I'll look into it though and get back with you.
For the battery drain, install kernel auditor, settings menu in top left corner, go to cpu, and set the governor to "on Demand" that will help a little bit.

I have reflashed the rom and also added a dual speaker mod. Everything is working like a charm. Bluetooth and Wifi are all working.
Flashed this and it works fine, but I also experience WiFi 'losing' passwords.
I just flashed it again and no change. In fact, from the time I enter the WiFi password during setup until setup is done, I have to re-enter WiFi password because it 'forgets' (it reports authentication error later after having worked fine initially)
Any other ways to fix this so I don't have to keep re-entering passwords like this?

Install Via the app. After reboot I suggest a force restart. If you still cant boot, clear cache in recovery. You should be able to boot up fine. It can take 5 to 10 minutes, so don't panic.
If you gained from this, I'd appreciate a hit from the thanx button. I just started here on xda. Would make me feel good

My s7 edge is now fully rooted with Ufirmware and I reflashed the stock BL as Arse18 suggested. I am very happy with the performance of the phone while rooted! It is super snappy! I did a benchmark test before I obtained root on this device. I will post these scores along with the newly rooted scores soon for comparison after I install all my apps on the phone.
The only issue that I have is loss of the fingerprint sensor. When using JKRuse's root.bat, I chose to use the finger print fix when obtaining root through the program. However, the fingerprint sensor does not work now.
Can somebody direct me to a fix for the finger print sensor? In the meantime, I will go back and read through the entire thread to see if I can fix the issue myself.

Not sure, I'll check.
Fingersprint sensor works just fine. I had chosen to not install the fingerprint fix by accident the first time I rooted the phone. I have since rerooted the phone and made the correct choice this time.
Yes, I'm an idiot!
I tried this yesterday and yes, the lag is completely gone. I have yet to see any issues doing it this way. For whatever it's worth, I downloaded the latest G935U firmware: G935UUEU4BRD1. I had no issues making that work. Unfortunately, I didn't take screenshots of Antutu, so take this with a grain of salt:
before: 104948
after: 151326
I have all cores underclocked the same in the before and after. If you leave the clocks at stock speeds, you should see better results. Just wanted to say thanks! This should give a lot more life to my S7 Edge.

Enjoy!
I agree 100 percent that there is better results with speed and battery without CPU governers.
Honestly though, this phone still can't beat my g900v s5 running crdroid ROM. Speed and and battery is insane.

Yep, I recently had to wipe one of my S5's and return it for credit, so I could get in on a Note 8 deal from Samsung. Was still quick, by any standard, even on TouchWiz. Certainly even better with a custom ROM.
The battery life with G935U firmware is marginally better with the bootloader reflash, but I have not even debloated yet or tweaked anything beyond the basics with L Speed & Kernel Adiutor. Looking forward to getting this fully tweaked up with all of my previous battery savings. Still, it's so much smoother than just with the EngBoot, that even if it didn't get any better, it's still miles smoother and more enjoyable as a daily driver.
So am I correct to assume this root method is root without the actually engboot file in the phone...is the battery life the same with stock or just slightly better than the previous root method...im already on bra1 u firmware...do I have to flash anything prior to rooting this...can I flash Roms and still maintain better battery life or will I lose root
Does this work on the flat 930T T-Mobile S7?
So, does it work for s7 flat? or just s7 edge?
I'm asking because of the link to the ufirmware part.
Thansk in advance.
Doubt
By following this method to root my Samsung G935V from Verizon would I lose the latest update Android 8.0? Can you confirm if everyting works?
Hi @ROMAD27. I do own a SM G935V S7 Edge from Verizon. I am looking forward to do this process to gain root access on my device however I don´t quite understad all the steps I need to follow. Can you guide me through. Thanks By the way Android 8.0 is now installed on the device. Would there be any conflict?
Does it trip safetynet?
Will this work for the S7 Flat?
OREO ROOT IS HERE!!!

Hello guys. Can anyone help me? I can't flash the Rom G935u by illuminati.I have a problem with the AP file. Is a winrar archive, not a MD5 file like it has to be.I don't now what to do.Thank You
I'm sorry, but could you explain the part with the Nougat_S7_Edge_EngBoot.tar.md5 file, how do I use it with Odin?? I´m kind of a noob, but I've flashed my phone before, but it gets hot and laggy sometimes.... Thanks
