This is OctOS MM (6.0.1) for the G800F.
Note: This description was borrowed from member canodroid15's post.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 6 (Marshmallow)?
A: Yes, this is Android 6.0.1
Q: What code is Oct-M based on?
A: Starting with Oct-L, we've rebased OctOs on the CyanogenMod 12 code. Oct-M is based on CyanogenMod 13.
Q: What happened to AOSP?
A: All Android code is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Under previous releases, we tried very hard to limit the number of "Not from Google directly" repositories that we used. Unfortunately, issues with devices, the need for Code Aurora Foundation (CAF) repositories for Qualcomm devices, and compatibility issues meant fighting code more often than not. We decided that since the code-base for many repositories were the same across most ROMs, picking a starting point to build the user experience on outweighed the desire to craft code from scratch, or fix broken code to make it work with other changes we already had.
Q: Why isn't there XYZ feature?
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But XYZ and all the others have..
A: ROM developers build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-M.
Q: Superuser or SuperSU?
A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.

No ambient display. I did look into that though. I kind of assumed it was a feature I could just cherry pick and add to the ROM. That doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe have a look at this thread. It's for the nexus, but I believe it would work for most devices..assuming the HW support of course.

Just checked the link, but I cant find the folders shown in the tutorial, though it may be because its for lollipop, or because I'm trying it on slim6, which just has that things deleted to make it, well, slim

The framework-res.apk is in /system -> framework.
The SystemUI.apk is in /system -> priv-app -> SystemUI.
You need to use apktool to decompile and recompile them. You will not see the appropriate files if you just extract the .apk. If you need any help I can try to lend a hand.

I know, and I followed the instructions, but in the decompiled SystemUI.apk, there was no values folder, and some of the things stated that I had to change in framework-res were not there. Maybe in MM ambient display activation is simplified?

I decompiled the 2 apks and am putting them on my drive so you can download them.It may take some time for me to upload them and for you to download though. They're not large files. Just a lot in each folder. There is a values folder in SystemUI. Perhaps you did something wrong? Also,do this as root!
Edit the files needed and then recompile with "java -jar apktool.jar b [apk name"]
They are indeed taking forever to upload.
Check back here. I'll add the link when it has finished.
Here ya go
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_rGv18gTmnVY1hiZk9UcUFOU0E
Edit: It doesn't seem to allow you to download by folder for some reason which makes it kinda useless. My links are working well recently [emoji3]
Might just be easier for me to edit and recompile then send you the completed .apk's. I can't promise when though. I'm not at my computer now. I'll try to do it later today though.

I still can't get all the subfolders from systemui.apk nor framework-res.apk, even with root.
If you don't have that much time, you could just decompile both apks, put them in a zip file and give me a link for it. I will try and change the things needed for ambient display, and if I don't succeed in that, then I will wait until you have the time to try and do it.

Hey,sorry I've been busy.I will try my best to get it done today. It really shouldn't take too long.I'll give it a test too.No idea if it will really work or not.I'll shoot you a msg when I get it done.
If I don't have the time,I'm sure I can at least manage to decompile and zip them up later for you. Hopefully I'll be able to do one or the other later this evening.

Don't worry if you don't have time. It's just a feature I just would like to have, but it's obviously not 100% necessary.
If you have a bit of time, I would also like you to have a look at the Bluetooth, as I have an issue that was also in slim6.
It is that when I'm playing music in my BT speakers, whenever I turn on the screen, the sound 'lags', but once you unlock the screen or just turn it back off, this problem is solved until you turn on the screen again :/
I understand that you have (at least for now) limited developer skills, so I also understand if this is not possible for you.
Anyways, thank you for your time and support
Enviado desde mi SM-G800F mediante Tapatalk

Is there going to be an update anytime soon? I am currently using this ROM and like it a lot. The only problem I found was with the BT audio.
As I said in the post above, when I turn on the phone's screen while playing audio, the sound lags for ~10 secs. Is it possible to fix this?

4. Unified - Will work on all variants of the Moto G 2nd Gen (XT1063/64/68/69)
5. Layers/RRO support!
6. New bootlogo (optional in AROMA)
7. Cool looking light fonts
8. More to come!
INSTALLATION
1. Download ROM and Gapps (Gapps are NOT included in the ROM)
2. In TWRP, do a factory data reset

4. Enjoy!
BUGS/ISSUES
None so far, you tell me
NOTES (plz read)

Did a dirty flash on test3, with attacked kernel, SU, Xposed. Everything seems to be working fine.

Layers is compatible with every single MM ROM that doesn't have the CM Theme Engine. That means that you can in fact configure RaR to use layers
Basically:
1. Get root access (Flash super SU)
2. Install busy box, preferably from the busy box installer found on the play store.
3. Install the layers theme manager from the store, and grant root access.

If your question has already been answered, then alright. Otherwise- it's a known fact that stock MM 6.0 takes a massive amount of time for the first boot (about 20 mins), so you'll definitely have to wait a while.

Aggressive autocorrect depends on the keyboard you're using, it has nothing to do with the ROM. So you'll have to find a keyboard from the Play Store that supports the feature.
 @Vidhanth
I have some ideas/suggestions that may or may not be helpful
1. Many of the apps found in stock CM are actually quite useful (Snap, CM File manager, etc) If these apps were built into a stock ROM, I suppose that would make it a perfect slim go-to ROM?
2. If you wish to, perhaps you could also add native layers support to RaR?
3. The Stock boot animation on its own is pretty unique for all MM based ROMs, so there would be no need to replace it?
4. Kernel audiutor could be built in?
Thanks for this awesome ROM, looking forward to trying it really soon

1. Yep, I'll be making an add-on or something like that for those apps
2. Yeah, I was planning that for the next release
3. Hmm, the stock animation is pretty size consuming, considering the fact that it also needs the Moodles app from Motorola to show up. I'll see into tho, or maybe make a custom one
4. That'll go in the add-on

****READ - There is a video problem with this ROM that makes it rather unstable if you try to watch videos (youtube ETC.)I will look into this more when I have some time.If you want something similar I recommend AOKP *****
This is AOSP with RRO/LAYERS for the G800F.
I have been using this ROM for just a short time, but I must say I really like it.This may end up being my ROM of choice.RRO Layers are fairly cool and I personally like them more than the CM theme engine. If I do decide to stick with this ROM I will probably add things I like, compile with a better toolchain, kernel tweaks etc. I was going to wait to upload this until I did these things, but I figure some would prefer this version.I will keep this version up always even if I do "customize" this in the future.
Anyway,on with it...
What is AOSP?
AOSP (Android Open-Source Project) is the project with the open-source parts of Android. It's used as a base by anyone who wants to build or customize an Android ROMs.
What is RR Layers
Layers is a extension of runtime resource overlay.
RRO is a framework created by sony for use as a way for them to create xperia themes but also for internal quick prototyping.

YOU FLASH THIS ROM AT YOUR OWN RISK.I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR DUE TO THE FLASHING OF THIS ROM.
I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST DATA,BRICKED PHONE,OR ANYTHING OF THE SUCH.(PHONE EXPLODES,OVERHEATS ETC)
THIS ROM IS ONLY FOR THE S5 MINI SM-G8OOF (Exynos) DO NOT FLASH THIS ON ANY OTHER DEVICE!
RRO is a framework created by sony for use as a way for them to create xperia themes but also for internal quick prototyping.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/official-layers-bitsyko-apps-rro-t3012172
Notes
-added advanced reboot options
-Supersu will flash along with the ROM,so no need to do this separately.

I have to assume that it is as CM13 is for the F/M/Y. I cannot say with 100% certainty though as I know nothing about the M/Y variants.
Either way,I advise you to not flash this until I sort out some issues with this ROM.I recommend AOKP if you want something similar for now.

This ROM is broken. I have spent way more time on this than I wanted to trying to fix the video problem, only to end up making things worse. Therefore, I am going to be removing this project.
My builds of AOKP and Slimrom are similar enough to this ROM that I no longer wish to spend time on this. Sorry if that's a problem for anyone.
This is just a heads up before I remove this in a day or two [emoji2]

Only option im really missing is to re-arrange the quick setting tiles, unless i am not seeing that option some where. some nice options i havent seen in other roms.

Thanks for bringing this great ROM to our device. Looks and feels great. Just some bugs tho -
Selecting Video Recording in camera app results in force close.
SuperSu app from playstore didn't work for me, had to flash binaries.
And a small feature request - please add Live Display(couldn't find it anywhere).
Thanks again.

Root has been removed by default, I can add it into the builds if enough people want it but its best to leave it as an option for now to allow better compatibility across applications.

Great to see a much-stock-as-possible ROM.
Other ROM builds seem to have issues with the google camera and/or the front camera resolution. How is that on this ROM?

Unified builds (3 and 3T) have the source needed to get both devices to work by cramming all the needed files into the same source tree (which is messy, hard to keep maintained and will probably cause problems in the long run)
Dedicated builds (3T) just has the source needed for the OnePlus 3T and has more optimisations that are specific to the OP3T (which means better performance, battery and a lot more positive affects)
awesome see pure Lineage, testing here. keep going congratz

Ok guys, as you all know by know Q roms have a hit and miss WiFi functionality.
For some people it works and some it dont.
(Needed files will be down below)
there are 3 things you can do atm.
- flash Oreo "modem.img"
- flash "haumea_I.base_1.11_WiLG-gc35b9cb0" kernel
- zach's fix
______________________
If you are flashing a "modem.img" please use the one for your model (or whatever you frankensteined to)
Example:
- if you have a H931 converted to us998, then use the us998 modem.img
- if you have a original h930(DS), use the h930(DS) modem.img
- if you have a original us998, use the us998 modem.img
- etc etc..
if your needed modem can"t be found here, plz ask in v30 chat or download the oreo kdz from xda and extract the "modem.img"
______________________
Zachs Fix (doesnt work for everyone)
create folder in you internal storage called
"joan_int" then one inside it called "wlan_bins" then place the wlan_mac.bin file inside.
then in terminal emulator app copy and paste/type these 4 commands.
su
cp -a /vendor/etc/wifi/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini /mnt/vendor/persist-lg/wifi/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini
cp /storage/emulated/0/joan_int/wlan_bins/wlan_mac.bin /mnt/vendor/persist-lg/wifi/wlan_mac.bin
chmod 644 /mnt/vendor/persist-lg/wifi/wlan_mac.bin
then reboot
Thanks Zach??
______________________
Yes it is possible to combine the 3 above fixes.
For myself i needed oreo modem.img + Zach's fix to have working wifi.

Zachs Fix (doesnt work for everyone)
create folder in you internal storage called
"joan_int" then one inside it called "wlan_bins" then place the wlan_mac.bin file inside.
then in terminal emulator app copy and paste/type these 4 commands.
su
cp -a /vendor/etc/wifi/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini /mnt/vendor/persist-lg/wifi/WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini
cp /storage/emulated/0/joan_int/wlan_bins/wlan_mac.bin /mnt/vendor/persist-lg/wifi/wlan_mac.bin
chmod 644 /mnt/vendor/persist-lg/wifi/wlan_mac.bin
then reboot
Thanks Zach
