I ****ed up when trying to install flash TWRP 3.0.2 - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello,
I was trying to flash the newest version of TWRP on my Note 4 by flashing the image within TWRP(as the instructions suggested). What I did not notice was that I had an older version of TWRP installed than the one recommended in the instructions. After flashing the image and reboots the phone enters the download mode, and I am not able to proceed into recovery mode.
I downloaded the newest version of odin and flashed TWRP using the AP mode. By utilizing the auto-reboot setting I was able to boot into the OS, and everything seems to work fine. However when trying to reboot into recovery I still get the download mode. Is there any way to fix this?
All answers are greatly appreciated.

Are you Rooted, or are you trying to root using this method? If you're rooted download flashify and download TWRP, or CWM, or Philz for the device and it should be successful. If it's not, please reply back and i can see what's going on.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I am indeed rooted. I tried flashing TWRP through flashify, but my phone still enters download mode when rebooting after flash. "Could not do normal boot" in the top-left corner. To make the phone boot into the OS I have to flash TWRP through Odin. This solves the "booting into the OS"- part, but when I try to boot into recovery I get the download mode aswell. I am thinking that I might have to wipe everything and re-install TWRP and the custom ROM(emotion rom MM). What is the best way of doing this?

[Q] Won't boot rom or cwm recovery - only download mode

Hi! I have encountered a problem, and really hope someone can help me!
Two days ago i flashed Omnirom Nightly on my n7105 to get Android 4.4. I was running cmw recovery but couldnt get the ota updates to work, so i was trying to flash open recovery instead. I used an apk that was supposed to install a script.
When i rebootet my phone, all i could get was the Note 2 boot image. It wont boot into recovery mode, or the rom. I am however able to boot into download mode.
Custom Binary download: Yes (4 counts).
Current binary: Custom
System Status: Custom.
How should i proceed? I've already tried to reflash cwm recovery, which did work, but didnt solve the problem. I am currently downloading stock firmware, but the file is 1.2 GB so it will take i while. Figured i should ask here in the meanwhile.
I'm not an expert at Android at all, im just a guy enjoying having custom roms and playing around a little. I do know that there are a lot of very talented people in this forum, and i really hope someone can help me find a solution. I've been googling for hours, but cant find anything that seems to work for me / or i dont fully understand and wont risk try before someone approves it.
Thank you, Vetle
EDIT: Is it correct that i cant flash any custom rom trough Odin? Or could i just flash omnirom again trough Odin?
If i manage to flash the stock rom and the bootloop goes away, will everything go back to normal, so i can flash cmw again and then a custom rom again?
No custom rom can be flashed through odin, as most of them are zip cwm/twrp base.
When u can only go to download mode, an official firmware only can help u through odin.

Thanks for the answer!
Yup, i have flashed a stock rom now and i got the stock recovery. Everything was working fine.
Then i proceeded to do a factory reset in the stock recovery and flashed cwm trough Odin. When it was done, it wouldnt let me into recovery again! I can still boot up the phone tough.
I've also tried Open recovery. CWM via Rom manager. Open Recovery trough Goo Manager... Still cant get recovery to work, the stock rom works tough.
Any ideas?
Okay, i tried to flash the stock rom again and installed Rom Manger.
It still showes TWRP and CWM under installed recovery and i guess these its these two who makes the problem.
My plan now is to figure out how to completely remove them. I've never done anything related to adb before, so i hope it possible to remove them in another way?
This is so weird. Somehow i managed to install CWM Touch via Rom Manager and it booted. When i choose reboot /pull battery it will only boot straight into CWM again. I tried to flash TWRP via Odin, wich sucseeds, but then it reboots into CWM again!
I am soo lost its almost funny!
EDIT: Since i could get into cwm now, i tried to flash omnirom, but it aborts and all i get is status 7...?
EDIT2: Latest now is that i suddenly managed to install TWRP via Odin, but i still cant install the latest omnirom, all it says is "updating partition details".

I had recovery problems in the last few days also.
Installed DN3 rom using philz recovery, because its capable of prepare the phone to a new rom in a easy way.
It all went fine until first reboot.
I had a recovery boot loop. All I could see were some buttons and then reboot again.
Like you I had download access and flashed philz with Odin, but no luck.
Installed twrp via Odin and all was fine, and flashed philz new version.
Then I had to flash a new kernel (to be able to access wifi) and it all started again. Now I'm back on twrp.
Let's see what happens on my next flash.
My suggestion is to flash the recovery, and if that's OK flash the rom and use it
Next time you need recovery get Odin to help, but not all the way from an original rom. Just the custom recovery.
But if you want to get rid of your strange recovery configuration, and you are not already on new 4.3 recovery(which in your case could explain some of the problems you had) , with knox, install an older original rom, 4.1, and make all the steps, root it, install a custom recovery, and from there the room you want.
Reading your path sorting this problem, that was what would do next
Best regards

Recovery Fail!

So two days ago I thought about installing Vision X rom on my Note 3 (T Mobile).
I downloaded the ROM and then backed up my current ROM (nandroid). I had Phillz touch recovery then.
Then I thought about going to TWRP and thus I downloaded the latest zip for my phone and flashed it via Phillz upon trying to reboot into recovery it got stuck in the screen "Rebooting Recovery...".
When I restarted it would still try to reboot into recovery and get stuck. I got out of that by going into download mode and then selecting "Restart Phone".
After that I looked for solutions and upon failing to find any I thought about going back to stock and starting from ground zero. I managed to flash the latest stock using Odin however I forgot to do a factory reset before hand.
When I tried to do a factory reset in my, now stock, phone it failed and then got stuck trying to get into recovery. It would flash "Rebooting Recovery..." then restart and flash that in a loop.
I have lost my root as well in the process and trying to root using Odin and CF-Root just get's me back in the recovery boot loop. I can use the phone OK however this is not a stable situation.
I'm sure I've made some serious errors in the tinkering and would like to get my recovery back. I really love Custom Roms. Any kind and knowledgeable souls out there to help me in my cause?

Go to the Playstore and download TWRP Coordinator and then
use it to install the latest TWRP recovery for your phone.
Once you can get back into TWRP recovery you need to flash
the cf-autoroot for your phone. Be sure you flash the CORRECT
version of cf-autoroot for your phone's model.
Good luck!

The app is constantly crashing!
It would start for a second then close. I tried the TWRP manager as well with the same result.
I've lost root access when I Odined back to stock, won't I need root access to install new recoveries?
Sounds like you flashed the stock 4.4 firmware and now need recovery to root. Flash this TWRP file using Odin http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/hltetmo/openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.1-hltetmo-4.4.img.tar
Once you flash it, you need to boot into recovery to install supersu to root.
Switch off the Galaxy Note 3 (remove the battery and reinsert if needed)
Next, press and hold simultaneously Volume Up, Home and Power.Release the buttons when the screen flickers and wait for the TWRP menu.
Select Reboot, then System and install Supersu for root.
Once booted, open Supersu to update it and grant permission.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

[Q] Phone won't boot into recovery.

I have been messing with my S3 lately and just tonight I tried flashing the newest compatible TWRP recovery so that I could run SlimBean on it, which is recommended, but after I flashed it, the TWRP recovery, my phone would no longer boot into recovery. It will boot into download and will boot normally. When I try to boot into recovery it shows the "Recovery booting...." text in blue but then goes to a black screen where I can't go any further. I have tried booting into recovery while completely turned off with Volume up + Home + power, with ROM manager and with goomanager. No matter what I try it refuses to boot into recovery. Any help would be very, very, very appreciated!
Where did you get the recovery? Get twrp from my sig and flash via Odin. Should get it going again.

I originally got twrp from their site the first time I attempted to flash it and also tried flashing it directly from goomanager.
Thank you, I'll try it right quick.
*EDIT* I tried the twrp you said to and it crashed my odinv3.07. I'm going to download Odinv3.09 provided by you and attempt it again. Any tips on changing the twrp file from a .zip to a .tar file?
There should be a .tar.md5 fir each version. Use that with Odin. The .zip files are for flashing in recovery, which wont work for you atm.
Sorry about the late reply but after I flashed the twrp from you with Odin v3.09 it booted right into recovery! Thank you so much!

Unable to boot into recovery

Twrp should still be there. That rom you installed probably had a incompatible kernel which is what is sending you into fastboot. If you cant get into recovery for some off the wall reason flash back to stock with a tot or kdz.
any off the wall ideas on how to get into recovery

Am I to understand this as you installed the TWRP Manager apk? Or do we read this as TWRP is the recovery you had originally installed? (Not trying to be funny here)
If the TWRP Manager was used from within the ROM, instead, use Flashify to reflash the recovery, not TWRP manager. Get the IMG file from HERE first, and tell flashify where you saved it.
If you are completely unable to boot as well as not access recovery, you will have to start from scratch. Follow THESE instructions to get back to stock and start over. (Choose Restoring Stock/Removing Root Flag)

Caught in Recovery Bootloop

Recently I flashed through TWRP Resurrection Remix new 7.1.1 Nougat on my Tmobile Note3. Was working great. I had the newest twrp 3.0. I was looking at a custom ROM that said I would need CWM so I downloaded CWM from Google play and I ran it. I decided to back up through CWM and it rebooted my phone. My phone rebooted into recovery, and is stuck in recovery bootloop now. It keeps rebooting into recovery. I tried to fix by taking out battery for a long time but when I turn it on againit goes back to recovery in the loop. It can power into download mode. I don't know what to do in that mode though. Please help me. If I'm to use a computer to flash a different OS please include all links to find the downloads as well as the links for finding the usb drivers. Anyone know what I'm to do?

I find it odd that you would find a ROM that suggests CWM instead of TWRP, but the way I see it is you go back to Resurrection Remix or try to flash the new ROM you found with TWRP (2.8.7 is recommended)
You can download the .tar file for TWRP 2.8.7 here: https://dl.twrp.me/hlte/twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-4.4.img.tar.html
For clearer instructions, you can visit this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672393
These are instructions to flash back to stock, root and install TWRP 2.8.7
I suggest right after doing this, you flash the ROM you want, that will guarantee a "cleaner" installation of the ROM
Good luck!

Thank you for your help. I did all the clear instructions from the thread. I couldn't get the CF auto root to stick. Also couldn't find a surfboard for TWRP 2.8.7, they only have 2.8.0 on the TWRP site, or TWRP 3.0. Ultimately I've got my original factory stock lollipop back. I'm no longer rooted. I had rooted before through KingRoot. I tried again and it says that I'm out on a list for root for my phone. So my phone works again. I guess I should be happy with that.
If you want to root, you could try flashing cfautoroot with Odin.

I did try to flash CF auto root with Odin after I flashed back to the stock ROM. But it didn't work. It stayed stuck on the T mobile screen for a very long time. So I just gave up trying to root again and stayed with the stock ROM without root. Thanks. Maybe I'll try again and see if it'll work next time.
Flashing twrp with Odin and flashing supersu from twrp had always worked for me.

Yes. When I want root with stock recovery, I use cfautoroot. When I want a custom recovery and root, I flash twrp and supersu.

OK. Thanks. Also, which version of TWRP? I can't seem to find a download for 2.8.7.0, only for 2.8.0.0 and 3.0 on the official TWRP site. Also where can I find SuperSu? Do I flash SuperSU with TWRP once TWRP is on phone? I read somewhere that the best version for TWRP is 2.8.7.0, but I can't find it anywhere.

Flash twrp using Odin. Olen Odin, do not check anything except f reset time. Flash twrp. When you see the word reset in the status window, remove USB cable from phone, remove battery, replace battery, use button combination to boot into recovery, connect to computer, copy supersu to phone memory, flash supersu from twrp.
