LED customization - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Is there any way to customize the notification LED for certain apps without using 3rd party software? There is a setting under 'LED notifications' -> Per app notification. But I don't think you can use it to make apps use certain colors.
Thanks!

nope - you'll need to use third party software like lightflow LED

Always on display Note 7

Hi,
For those who are already lucky to own this phone. Can you tell me something about the features of the always on display.
1. Are third party notifications (esp. Whatsapp) supported
2. Is it possible after tapping on the notification to get a preview
3. Is it possible to dismiss a notification and/or to go directly to the app of the notification
Cheers

I haven't checked for Whatsapp specifically, but the always-on display shows me notifications from Pushbullet, Nine (exchange email), DS Cloud and others. I guess it works with any app.
Taping the notifications does nothing - or i missed something in the settings.
Double-tapping them opens the corresponding app (at the appropriate place; example, the email that triggered the notification) (but first of course you have to unlock the phone if you have a secure lockscreen set).

Okay it looks that Samsung has listened to the request for S7 user. Nice to hear that 3rd party apps are now displayed.
That I dont get a preview of the message and can't mark it as unread is little bit dissapointing. It looks that I still have to use a 3rd party app for notifications. It looks that nothing beats Moto Display so far
I believe th e always on display stays th ere for up to an hour after you right a note. You can choose different themes.

No. You need an app like Light Manager from the play store if you want to specify certain colors for battery and notifications. Do you have blink light enabled already???
I only wish so...

Auto expand the notification shade?

We just added an S9 to the family, and I noticed that after receiving notifications, they don't all fully "expand" automatically when I pull down the notification shade, you have to press the little down arrow to expand them. Is this an Oreo thing? it does not happen on my S8 (Android 7) I see all of them expanded.
When I pull down the shade I would like to see them all without user intervention.
Am I overlooking something?
Yes this happens. But only for system related settings and notifications that stay on top. But got 3rd party apps it doesn't happen.

But as you can see in the picture, it is happening on a third party app called Battery HD...
The system ones I don't care about to much
You can try this to adjust the info shown. Settings-apps-the specific apps- notifications then change the level of importance.

Lockscreen customization

I really hate lockscreen on MiUI. It's pretty much useless. All I had there was clock and 3 useless icons for Mi Remote, Fingerprint sensor and camera. Notifications were half-broken and never were displayed on it. I am used to my old iPhone notifications, which were very detailed and actually useful. I wish there was a method of editing the lockscreen. Like being able to add widgets to is and move stuff around. I couldn't find anything so far, is there any methods to achieve that?
Thanks!
You have to turn on the option labeled show on lockscreen in notification settings of an app

Set lockscreen to none through settings app then install klck app from playstore
Does this mean we can install third party lockscreen app in the latest firmware? I thought miui lockscreen would still run after unlocking with third party lockscreen app or it would appear after going to the homescreen.

Yes, it is possible to install third party lockscreen apps without any issue...but remember to disable system lockscreen and when installed third party lockscreen go to settings- installed apps- Any third party lockscreen app- go to permission and set display popup ON. Done now any third-party lockscreen app will work without any trouble
