EU/UK HTC 10 Ever confirmed working 4G/LTE in US? - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

This was a thread months ago during the release. Not sure if anybody ever tested this or knew.
Since they offer several other colors people might want here in the US, a few had thoughts about buying a UK/EU version and testing to see what networks really work in the US.
Not sure if it was a radio/firmware issue, or it the chipset supports it either way. Just need to put the correct firmware on and get 4G/LTE support.
But the question was is the band for TMo/ATT 4g LTE supported on these devices/tested working in the US?
Or is it a no-go?!?

Which defy to buy?

I'm considering purchasing the Defy. (completely in love with the idea of a waterproof phone)
I live in US and have AT&T. Seen topics about the T-Mobile version working on AT&T's 3G bands.
I plan on purchasing one from eBay and my question is, should I get the american "T-Mobile" version or should I get a European version. Which one has more/better roms available? Does the European version work on AT&T 3G? I'm a fan of the all black UK version as well. Are there any other hardware differences besides color of the phone?

Ok, if you buy the American (T-Mo?) you should be able to use it on AT&T 3G through the 850 freq, and of course, on T-Mo.

You will also be able to use it on the most common international freq, 2100. Looked at the Euro spec phone on the Moto site and they do not appear to be able to work on any USA 3G.
The USA T-Mo branded phone seems to be far less likely to developed the "failed earpiece", if that is even still an issue with current production.
Also, there is a thread with people complaining that the all black phone is structurally "cheaper". Maybe it's an appearance thing. Of course, the T-mo branded phone comes with wifi calling which you cannot use on AT&T... but should you ever switch...

[Q] Stupid question EU on US

Hi all,
I've bought a EU M8 mobile...I think it's EU as I bought in Dubai.
Sooner I will relocate in US and I've just realised that my mobile potentially could not work there ....is this true?
How can I check?

If it's eu, it'll work fine but I don't think you'll get LTE. I may be wrong. But it'll work

my phone is actually completely unlock and not branded. if i buy a new US sim cards why do you think that 4G/LTE wont work?

HTC does make two different models(GSM & CDMA). I don't think the frequency/bands on the GSM phone you have will matter much. As I understand it the Qualcomm RF360 Front End solution chip has 40+ bands on the chip exactly for this reason. It makes it more "Global", it should already be capable of receiving 4G/LTE on most frequency/bands available in pretty much any country.
I think the only thing that perhaps influences it is carrier specific requests to lock to certain bands... Probably for roaming purposes and to get more money. But a carrier free device like you have shouldn't have a problem to work(Even LTE) in the US if you insert a local SIM card for it.
But that's just how I understand it from a quick look up I did some time ago, can't know all the details though. You could probably read up more on it for yourself if you're interested.

you clearly explain what was in my mind.
i can understand if some locked/carrier phone could have some problem but i would be surprised to discover that a brand new mobile such this will have issue to work overthere.
i'm searching the web as well but it's quite difficult to find clear answer.

the One M8 will work fine with US LTE bands cause the EU and the US M8 are technically the same.
that's also the reason why it´s works not with any European LTE network outside Germany

Possible to use on verizon network (at least texting and calling)?

Hey guys,
I currently have the Pixel Xl and I am not really happy with the battery life at all. I want to buy the Lenovo P2. There are two versions. Is any of them compatible with verizon? If 4G won't work that would be fine. I just need calling, texting and 3G.

I just have not found any source stating that it is indeed possible to use this phone with verizon.
If anybody could answer that I would really appreciate this.

Looks like the p2c72 models work on Verizon but no LTE bands are Supported so CDMA or 3G only.

Getting VoLTE working for united states carriers on custom roms.

Before i explain what i/we all hope to achieve, ive been increasingly worried about network shutdowns. Ive seen at&t shut their 2G network down, I believe verizon is next with sprint or t-mobile to follow. For those who dont know without VoLTE, us verizon users use 1xRTT which is 2G voice. So, if verizon shuts the 2G network down, what do we do? So now that that speech is over.
Ive seen threads around on other phones and somehow the devs for these phones got VoLTE working on united states carriers. i dont know very much but i hope we all can use this thread to gather info and come up with ideas to get it working. I do know that the stock software has some sort of "sign" that in some way shape or form verifies the phone in some way.
The unlocked one supports many 4G VoLTE bands. If you want to know your carrier supports or not, ask your carrier customer support for VoLTE bands and cross check with below link.

Useful info, but I believe our main issue with custom roms is some sort of signature that tells the carrier something, thats about all I know

Question AT&T and International/EU 9 Pro

So, I have been watching the 9 Pro as my next phone (upgrading from HTC U12+), but am really disappointed in a couple of things: (1) it appears there is no plan to certify the US version for AT&T 5G, and (2) no Astral Black for the US.
Since the 5G aspect is unlikely to change anytime soon, and AT&T 5G isn't really all that great anyway from what I hear, is there any downside to buying an EU Astral Black model and using it in the US? I'm still researching all the bands, but it appears the EU model is only missing two LTE bands in use by AT&T (Bands 29 and 30). To be fair, the US version is also missing Band 29 for the 700MHz spectrum, but does contain support for Band 30 at 2300MHz.
I'm going to log which bands are being used where I live and work but, if I will be limited to 4G/LTE anyway, I'm not seeing a downside to buying the EU version. Am I overlooking something? Any thoughts, suggestions, or input is greatly appreciated.
EU has additional options that neither the TMO or US int models have. At&t is behind on 5g deployments anyway so you shouldn't miss out on much, Verizon and TMO would've been better for that. As far as general reqs go, I don't see why not.

As far as I know, no models work with att 5g.

I believe that is true - I just want to make sure I'm not inadvertently limiting myself with 4G/LTE coverage by buying the EU version. I don't really care around home/work, as there is usually wifi available. My bigger concern would be coverage in my home area that might get dropped now due to the EU version missing a band that is available on the US version. Or, perhaps when traveling if the EU version is missing bands that other networks (roaming) may use.

I have dual sims, straight talk att sim and t mobile sim. Att sim works fine no drop but no 5g, simple mobile -TMobile 5g,4g, I have the Chinese varient with eu firmware

You are correct. I call ATT about once a week asking if they're going to certify/whitelist OnePlus devices. I figure the more complaints they get, the more they'll be inclined to investigate it.
To add to this, most people I speak to have never even heard of OnePlus, which makes the conversation troublesome. Be completely prepared for ATT employees to feed you bad information, say your device isn't compatible (does not have the required hardware), is inferior to Samsung/Motorola/iPhone, and try to sell you a new phone or sent you a new SIM card.
I've posted before about calling ATT. I feel everyone who has their service should call on a regular basis. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

And the strange part is they have the 9 and 9 Pro listed on their list of devices that will still work on their network (VoLTE) after they shutdown their 3G service next year. Gives me hope they will certify at some point.
I run this phone on AT&T, and while I don't get 5G speeds, I get very fast LTE+ speeds of around 200mbps.
Thanks all for the input. After some more thought, I believe I have decided on the pine green US version. It's going to be in a case anyway, and I've had very few cases that aren't black. So, if it will be black anyway due to the case, I might as well get the US version. Plus, I think the black case and green camera bump will look sharp.

I want to get the 9 pro for T-mobile use in US. I need dual sims and want custom roms...
I saw that "toolhas4degrees" said they had a Chinese model with EU firmware. I don't know if he changed the firmware himself or what... A bit out of my capabilities.
Simply put: What would I need to do (if anything) to get the EU (LE2123) OnePlus 9 Pro to work with T-mobile?
