Just open layers > uninstall > uncheck navbar and uninstall it, and reboot!
if problem not resolved, install xposed insatller and xposed framework, then install Force immersive mode module in xposed then follow the instruction within the app! it is that simple.

Apocalypse Users!!

As I was impressed by the development and hit of Apocalypse on Ace forum I decided to install it's port to my Gio (my first custom ROM). But I was disappointed. The Port was not like the original ROM on Ace forum. The app drawer interface was so different. It had to slide vertically but on ace it was horizontally. In the Menus there was no transparency to see the wallpaper and last but not the least I could not stop that annoying vibration whenever I pressed that back button.
Are all ports like this?? So different from original??
You can customize settings like you want, just open holo launcher settings and choose drawer settings, there you can set transparent and horizontal instead of vertical (choose drawer style and then select Horizontal paginated), effects like you want . It's not only the drawer, you can customize settings for desktop, docks and much more to stop vibration for back button, open phone settings > Sound > scroll down and deselect haptic feedback.

How to open Holo launcher settings??? :-/
And there was another problem when I open any application such as calculator and then press back button it should take me back to the app drawer interface but instead it takes me to the home screen And what about the task manager?? there was already a task manager in my previous Stock ROM (2.3.6) but this ROM does not have any.
It it important to factory reset the phone after installation??

You can open Holo settings by pressing menu button on home screen and select Launcher settings. I don't use apocalypse rom, but i use holo launcher too, and i don't think it should take you to home screen when pressing back button, someone else might know why it happens so and custom roms doesn't include task managers but you can go to phone settings > Apps > running services and there you could see what apps are running and background apps, ram but you could also install task manager apps like advanced task killer from google play if you want. It's always good to do a factory reset after roms installation.

I just checked and there are no launcher settings in menu. I think this ROM does not have Holo launcher as I can see launcher pro installed in this ROM and I cant figure out its settings... Do u know where its settings are??
Actually after my first installation of ROM after applying patches I did a factory reset but on its rebot it was showing cyanogen mod animation again and again and not going ahead. So i installed the ROM again and didn't risked doing factory reset again..... What could be the reason??

Oh sorry i thought you were using holo launcher because ace apocalypse rom are using it if it is launcher pro then you can't switch to horizontal unless you install another launcher that has horizontal drawer :/ what do you mean with cyanogenmod, do you want to install another rom to cm7 or are you still on apocalypse but trying to apply patches? do factory reset before and after flashing roms. And when you want to apply patches, open cwm recovery > mount & storage > mount /System then flash patches, be sure to apply right patches.
I was saying after installing ROM and all other patches I factory reset my phone but on the restart my phone was stuck on boot loop. Why is that so??
What the clockworkmod recovery version does you have on your phone? do you have any M, L or V as your phone model example GT-S5660M or GT-S5660L?

[Q] How to delete downloaded system update and prevent future updates/notifications?

Im still on KitKat and want to stay that way, but my N7 has automatically downloaded Lollipop and has the notification to install. How can I remove this notification, delete this update to free up space, and prevent it from happening again?
I know this must have been covered someplace else, but Ive spent the last 20 minutes searching and havent found a definitive answer....
Thanks!
I got this from some thread here.
Depends if you are rooted or not.
If rooted, you need to disable 3 receivers. To do so use one of the apps:
Autorun Manager, or
Autostarts (free in F-Droid).
The 3 receivers to disable :
service:com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver
(this will run on boot competed).
com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$ActiveReceiver-
(this will check for OTA on connectivity change).
com.google.android.gms.update.SystemUpdateService$SecretCodeReceiver
(this will check for OTA when your phone "handles" the secret code).
.........
If not rooted, I "think" you can go to
Settings / apps
Go to All tab
Select "Google Play Services" and unselect "show notifications".
This second method has some disadvantages but I don't remember what they are.
Hope this helps.
I'm in autostarts and seemingly have all of these disabled (I am rooted) as seen in the screenshot, but still getting the update notification (as also seen in the screenshot).
Thoughts?

Bump for an answer. Would like to know this too
I found this yesterday:
Download System Tuner, free from google play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.pmw&hl=en)
Open App
Click Startups
Navigate to Google Play Services - If you do not see this in the list, press add in the bottom right hand quarter and navigate to it
press and hold over Google Play Services
Press Open
Press Details
Press Activities
Navigate to update.SystemUpdateActivity and uncheck it
restart phone
This did the trick for me. I am unsure whether this also removes other notifications from google, but it certainly got rid of the annoying "system update downloaded" notification.
Or better still if you are using xposed framework download the NotifyClean module. Let the Update System notification appear after a reboot and then select it in NotifyClean to get rid of it. Brilliant!

Unless I'm mistaken, all this is doing is hiding the notification. While that's great, the notification currently says "System update downloaded", so my assumption is space is being taken up by this download which I'd really like to clear up.
With the issues many have reported running Lollipop on the N7, I'm really surprised there isnt a common, well known process for this.
Then try my message #5 above.

That's more or less the same thing... just disabling the notification. Also interested I'm how to delete the existing download.

[Q] Can't seem to install .apk files?

I've been trying to install Game killer (the equivalent of CheatEngine on PC) except I ran into a very unusual problem. I've been using "Application installer". I would provide a link to the app, but I seems that the site won't let me.
The problem is that when I try to install the Game killer .apk through this installer app, I get to the usual permissions interface where I see what permissions the apk needs and all that. What's strange is that I cannot seem to click the Install button. I can interact with every other part of the screen, but I simply cannot hit the install button. Even pressing my finger onto the install button and then sliding towards the "Back" button will cause the back button to illuminate like it usually does, but I still cannot select the install button.
I'm running stock ROM, stock Kernels, stock everything. Device is rooted. I can install apps from google play just fine, but of course, Gamekiller is not on the play store.
I ran into a similar problem when I installed a screen rotation app. With the rotation app intstalled I could not install any other apps that were not from the app store. Once I removed the rotation app everything was fine. This a security feature in android to prevent apps from modifying your screen without you knowing it. Check if you have installed any app that could have modified your screen.
I had the same issue on mine, the app total screen control was the culprit. I couldn't get apps to install when TSC was active.
Are you using any type of screen filters? If you are, disable them and it should be able to work now.

Disable heads up notifications in lollipop (requires root)

Download SQLite editor

Are you referring to the notifications on lock screen?
If so, they are super annoying.

Would this enable Pandora to be controlled from lock screen?
Nice!
Any idea on how to remove the quick connect and sfinder buttons from the notification panel?

Hello,i had before a Galaxy S5, LG G3, and it worked with the SQlite editor procedure , but when installing SQlite on the M8 (grant supersu acces and all of that) it says that no database found (attached a screenshot below) , the same thing happens on my Moto G 2014, so i thought it can't be that i have the S-ON, i tried also changing SElinux to permissive but no luck :crying:
I solved this :good:
install headsoff from google play store. it works for me to disable heads up notification in my note 3.
goooooooood
it dosenot required root device

Add notifications to Shield

Must have your Shield rooted
apps needed installed
-AppOps
-Settings Editor
-Snowball
-Heads Up Notifications
-terminal emulator
Install the 5 above apps.
Grant settings editor WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission in terminal
-su
-pm Grant by4a.setedit22 android/.permission WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
Add Snowball and Heads Up listeners to active listeners
-go to secure table in Settings Editor
-choose "enabled_notification_listeners" and choose editor value
-replace all text with "com.snowball.app/.nsprocess.NotificationService:codes.simen.l50notifications/.NotificationListenerService"
Grant draw over apps permission to snowball and Heads Up in AppOps
-for each app change "this app can appear over top of other apps" to allow
Now open Heads up and snowball and run through the setups.
You should now get notifications.

I just did it without root, just needed to not use appops.
so you need
-settings editor
-terminal emulator
-heads up
install settings editor and terminal editor
open terminal and put in"pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS"
install heads up
-go to secure table in Settings Editor
-choose "enabled_notification_listeners" and choose editor value
-replace all text with "codes.simen.l50notifications/.NotificationListenerService"
open terminal and put in "pm grant codes.simen.l50notifications android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW"
let me know how that works
Quick question before I try this, is there a way to turn off notifications? Like say I don't want notifications from specific apps - how do I stop this if there is no way to turn off notifications from within the app??
Tbh I only want notifications coming from one app only if poss

just turn off the notification toggle in settings apps for the app you want notifications disabled.

Can anyone else help with this?
can you adb into your shield?
No pc or root, I have been using termux recently to upload music to Google play music as there's no way to do this with Android atm, which is working fine. I tried your code again the other day using termux, seems like your code you asked me to enter needed a few spaces in places for it to recognize the command but I still got an error, I'll upload a screenshot later on when I'm at home
Try using "ADB Shellkit" to enter the commands, I've tried it and you need at least ADB access to follow this walkthrough without root.
