im planning on getting either a K7 or a K10 on friday. Anyone know which is easier to root?
Ive seen a lot of stuff on google for the K10 but most of it has bad english and makes me skeptical
I have a K10 on TMobile and I have not found anything solid either about how to root. I would recommend the K10 though. Since they are both budget phones and not as high end as the G5 I don't think you will find anything really.
The K7 has less RAM and only 8 GB of ROM. You will hate it on no time flat. Just don't...

I see... Coz I've seen a video in YouTube where the K10 from MetroPC have the same UI as on the G5... That's why i thought yours have it too...?

So no update for the OG? Damn....
So far the only official version we have is 4.1.2 for all variants.
Would be nice even if one variant gets 4.4 cause then it can be ported like how the Korean rom was ported and then later the HK one before NA officially got 4.1.2
Just remember, the fragmentation of Android don't benefits the Google... So the company has been trying recruiting all devices eligible to dissemination of SO... Including LGOG... Maybe not in October, but most fast possible.... My opinion

Most smartphone users do not care about software updates. They do not know the importance of it. Just want Facebook working well on a big screen and durable battery. LG should drop their own software and form a partnership with Cyanogenmod. Simple as that. No problems with software and they could only concentrate on hardware.

Weird how LG replies with news of an update, when they ignore everyone who needs support
I'm hoping above all else that we do, but it just seems weird that an LG phone would be among the first to receive an update considering the company's history

I think the Nexus devices would have the exclusivity for at least a month before any other device gets the update.
Well i just read that lg france answered a user asking for the kit kat update for our lgog and they said it will be ready to launch this month

will problably go for the G3 on the middle of summer....however I hope that we gonna have the 32g/3g of memory in north America.....but something told me that we gonna have only the 16/2g of memory version here.... it just suck since I like the 32g on the g pro

G Flex 2 is coming by the end of the year..so original G Flex is unlikely to be updated after kitkat..and that is a shame for such an expensive phone

I bought my G4 mainly because of the size. I have to tell you, the 805 chip bummed me out before I bought it, and admirtingly my g4 is not as clean on transiyyions or quick. But for some unkown reqson, internet is way faster and better. I know there isn't an explanation, but man, it's so much better. I'm definitely happy

A thought has just occurred to me.
The recent Nexus 5 rumours led me onto a thought train. According to some of the rumours we're seeing, the new Nexus 5 may well be, to all intents and purposes, a slightly different G4, with added fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C. The rumoured specs seem to show they share the same SoC (Snapdragon 808, Adreno 418), same RAM (3Gb), same camera sensor... etc.
Theoretically, if the new handset was to share these specifications and come with stock Android (as previous Nexus devices have done), would we be able to port that ROM across to our own devices, to essentially give us stock Android (obviously with work to unlock bootloaders, or a workaround)?
Nope! Not gonna happen. Nexus 5 x will be an affordable midrange device.

Except there was no nexus 5 port to lg g2. A nexus 5x ROM would make the g4 perfect though. If only we could keep the camera set up. Oh well. The 10N update helped alot with overall feel. So let's see what marshmallow does! Hopefully it's an improvement. If love to try a vanilla experience on here though. Imagine if that's what the marshmallow update was!!!? We don't need this skin LG.

I like the fact that the nexus5x is likely to have the snapdragon 808 as ours .. and marshmellow will lead to a good battery life with this processor! and i'm sure that battery improviment will be also on stock LG update

I just ordered my first phone in a long time (last was an s5 with a broken camera), an lg g4 (the h815 species thereof) for $239 like new, and I look forward to seeing what magic I can perform on this beast with your help! I can only hope I like it, but I think I probably will.

..I see the issue. I can only hope, as I'm sure not ALL 505xxxxxxxxxx g4's are affected. The price ($250-$290) seems to be pretty universal, so maybe I'll be OK. At any rate, thank you for pointing this out to me. It may be a huge bummer, but knowledge is power
