Nextbook download file help - Supported Devices

So I need help on how to get Remix to work on a nextbook tablet. I downloaded the file for nextbook on the support page but all I see are IMG files instead of an ISO file like it usually is. So what do I do the get it to work on a USB.?

I've been looking at these threads for a while now. I think the Remix O.S. 2.0 from jide is for the Nextbook 11 alone. Us with the Nextbook Ares 8 are out of luck since the available methods of install don't work. If anyone out there has any advice, we're all ears.

rename to .iso and use install tool. works with .zip, but still cant boot, just shutsdown nextbook

I used Imgburn to make all the files in the zip into an iso file. Then i used the installation tool from the remix os site and selected my iso that i created.
EDIT: It did not install...

Help! Unable to root my phone

Hi, i've tried this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765 but the program fails to uncompress these files. don't know why either.
Hi first make sure you are on 11A download again the file http://downloads.codefi.re/thecubed/lg_g4/lef/vs98611a.tar.gz and try to uncompress with winrar.
well the latest is 13b, so make sure you get the correct img file first. I was on 13 and flashed 11...then had to KDZ. Pretty simple process though!

[FIX][GUIDE] Marshmallow + AutoRec Hard Brick

Hello everybody, so I noticed a lot of people struggling with marshmallow + autorec hard bricks (symptoms: no download mode, no recovery, black screen)
Just to make sure: I'm not responsible for any damages done. This worked for me perfectly, should work for you too. Use it only if you bricked D855 30B!!! (Marshmallow)
Here's what you have to do to fix that:
First follow this amazing guide by senior member l33tlinuxh4x0r, big thanks to him. ---> LINK TO GUIDE
Important stuff: You need to install qualcomm drivers (windows 8, 10 users need to disable driver signature enforcement), you need to short the circuit of your phone, like it's shown in that guide, by shorting it correctly and plugging it in you immediately get connection (keep note of that, there's no need to wait for something, no sound - redo.)
Instead of extracting tot, like it's shown there, use attached files (target Dir). Then again, flash them like it's shown in the tutorial. You should be good to go.

Select the attached download folder as "Target DIR" in the application, it will load the files and let you flash them like it's shown in the tutorial

I've the same problem as you describe here. After I upgraded g3 to marshmallow I applied autorec and my device became hard brick.now my phone under com ports as Qualcomm 9008.
from this point I'm confused that which way to go the first your description 'Instead of extracting tot, like it's shown there, use attached files (target Dir)', Then again, flash them like it's shown in the tutorial'',the second tot file of the rom that we were running. (not older not newer same version). The first way I did not understand attached files where are they ?
if I follow the second way how can I find tot of my rom D855 30B!!! (Marshmallow)?
thank you waiting your help
Instead of tot you use the files from the download link in my post since you don't need to extract tot now, just mark that folder in "target dir" and follow the second guilde, as you call it. Good luck!

No problem hope it works out well for you. I had trouble understanding the software but I managed to unbrick my phone with it.
I've a look to the zip file...
The exe file looks "bizarre"
┼¼▒╚ÐÃ╝▒¥╚╣ñ¥▀V1.1.4.exe
The MD5 file is corrupt : "erreur d'entête" in French
I think it is because of the file name. I'll test unzip under linux

I change the name using Linux Mint.
I'll upload the file in a few days.
I'll have a look the the text files (resources) in order to give some explanations if I can do it.

There's no need to rename the files/folders using linux. Opening the .zip file in explorer (win10) is enough to uncompress it, then tou can rename files/folders as you like.
The software installs and run just fine. Nubia Z17 is supported up to rel. 3.08 (so it seems exploring the "Recovery" folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\nubia\BackupRecoveryTool.
All the recovery files are in .7z format and password encrypted (don't know at the moment if the password is embedded into the recovery tool main program.
Don't have W10
<HS>
I've some problems too to unlock the boot loader.
After unlock it once and flash TWRP, all other attempts are KO (can't flash with adb).
I wanted to flash the "standard recovery" to install the OTA update (modded 3.08) and reflash after TWRP.
I'll test it later

How to create a new scatter file

Hi All,
I want to install Lineage OS on a MT6580 device with 3.10.72 kernel. I have the stock rom available. I've found a suitable Lineage rom, and I know I just need to swap the boot.img and system.img (after conversion from system.new.dat) into SP Flash Tool, but I don't know how to create a new scatter file.
The scatter file from the stock rom doesn't work, I believe because the system.img and boot.img file sizes differ from the stock rom.
Can anyone give me a step by step guide how to create a new scatter file, or post a link to a tutorial. I can't find the procedure anywhere!
Thanks in advance.
Peter
What Lineage OS Rom did you find? I also have a device with a MT6580 and 3.10.72 kernel and I'm looking for a new ROM because the stock one seems to have chinese spyware.
Steps to Create a Scatter File for MediaTek Android Phone
After downloading and installing the MTK Droid Tool file on your PC, launch and run it.
Now, connect your Android Mediatek Device to your PC via a USB Cable.
Make sure you have the USB Debugging enabled on your device.
You will see the Device Info on the MTK Droid Tool, just click on the Blocks Map option.
A new window will open. Click on the Create Scatter button.
Select the directory where you want to save your Scatter File and click on Save option.
You’re done. Enjoy!

Question Problems with the connectivity on Poco F3 LineageOS + Magisk

I using my Poco F3 since a few month with lineageOS and I'm quite happy. The only problem: Wify and mobile data. Most of the time there is an exclamation mark in the topline on the icons for wify and mobile data.
I tried all the normal stuff:
– reboot the mobile phone (which sometimes really works)
– reboot thr router
– check the settings
– swap the sim cards (because sometimes I was only able to call somebody with one of the sim cards
With the last update of lineageOS it seems that the sim cards work again properly for calls, but not for mobile data.
Despite the exclamation marks surfing und emails works fine. I just can't synchronise my calendar via DAVdroid.
Any hint is appreciated.
are you using the recommended firmware version?
i had some issues with sounds with newer firmware versions
Good question.
I didn't change the firmware. How can I check, which version is runing on my device?
Idk how you'd check the firmware version but you could install the latest firmware for your region regardless.
Or if LineageOS recommends a specific FW version, install that instead.
Xiaomifirmware.com is one place where you can find official MIUI ROM versions and Firmware (/vendor).
You can just install it in Recovery, install itself takes a couple of seconds since Firmware is around 100 MB.
Isn't there an official site to download the firmware?

xiaomifirmwareupdater.com is a reputable source for official Xiaomi FW and ROMs.
Xiaomi do have a website where you can DL ROMs but it's bad.
Perfect, thx a lot. I will try,if it works. Keep fingers crossed ;-D
Sorry, I don't get any further. I only find complete Roms with 3.1 GB and more. But not a vendor with the code POCO F3 Global - V13.0.3.0.SKHMIXM as mentioned on the website of Lineageos.org (https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/alioth/fw_update). Even the direct link downloads a complete Rom.
And can I install the vendor with my linux computer or should I switch windows and the mi-tool as mentioned on some websites?
Thanks for your help.
Okay, I'm a little bit further. As far as I understood it. I download the whole Rom but install just a few parts via adb. Following the instructions here: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/alioth/fw_update
I should install the payload-dumper-go to unpack the zip-file of the ROM. But I don't know how to start the programm
I downloaded it from github for Linux, but I don't know how to get any further.

You're right. I checked out that website and those links are indeed full Recovery MIUI ROMs, not just firmware.
Those instructions show you how to manually flash just the firmware from a ROM.zip
However, you don't need to do that. Here is a link to just the firmware for that exact ROM:

v13.0.3 seems rather old to me, but if it's their recommendation, then I guess go ahead. After all you simply want these problems to go away.
How to flash:
Simply boot into Recovery and do ADB Sideload
"adb sideload firmware.zip"
If you want to use the Payload Dumper anyway:
In your Linux Machine, open the Payload Dumper folder,
right-click an empty space in the folder, click "Open in Terminal",
type "payload-dumper-go -o . " and drag & drop the MIUI_ROM.zip into the Terminal (this will autofill the path to that ROM),
Hit Enter.
Then, open the created folder where all the extracted partition-images are. Open that folder in Terminal, and do the fastboot commands listed on the LineageOS-website that you linked to me.
Great thanks a lot for your help. New stuff to learn – that's great.
Unfortunately I figured out that the reason for the problems could be a wrong setting in my AFWall+. I will double check that and if it's not the reason, I will follow your instructions. Thanks a lot for your work – awesome.
heres the firmware archive,no need for full rom and fastboot commands
