ROM issues - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6

I'm pretty sure this has been asked a lot, but I'm trying to install the "TeamSPR Rom" and i'm following the steps exactly. I still get stuck on the bootscreen with the logo with the blue LED glowing. What am I doing wrong, and this happens with TeamSPR and Renegade.

Make sure that you are rooted (goes without saying) and using the correct version of TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862

Saafir said:
From the information in your post, you seem to be on the right track. That ROM has taken upwards of 25 minutes to boot for some folks. As long as the blue light is slightly pulsing, it's doing it's thing. As long as you have TWRP installed and working, you should be good to go.

So pulsing plus the samsung logo, is a good thing?

p.s. Thank you guys so much, I'm skepticle when it somes to asking for help on forums, cuz usually people are short tempered and or a-holes. I really appreciate it though.

1 last thing, do i install/flash the OTA part after it optimizes all the apps?

finished everything, it's booted up now, but my screen is spamming "unfortunately, "APPNAME" has stopped" is that normal?
EDIT: Can't get into my text messages either.

Saafir said:
You shouldnt receive any errors. I would reboot to TWRP, do a wipe and reinstall the ROM. Let the device boot and set it up. Once all is good with the initial install, reboot to TWRP and install the update.zip. This should ensure a nice clean start.

1. Flashed ROM, waited 20 is mins.
2. Phone loaded up, restarted into TWRP and Flashed the OTA zip.
3. Phone loaded up. This is when I start getting a popup saying "Unfortunately the process android.process.acore has stopped working." and my message app still won't open after i cleared cache and data.
Thanks in advance

I did exactly that. Im currently reflashing the Full ROM taking longer at the samsung screen. But I'll wait. If all else fails I'll probably go back to stock.

I'm now back to stock 6.0.1, going to give this one more go.
Would anyone mind giving me specific step-by-step directions. please?
I feel like im forgetting something crucial.

everthing finally worked out. just having an issue with xposed literally taking hours at the boot screen

[Q] Help please - "unfortunately, NFC service has stopped"

Hello,
I have a fairly new samsung S3 on AT&T. The phone is rooted and the new jellybean update applied.
Everything has been fine until this morning it started showing "UNFORTUNATELY, NFC SERVICE HAS STOPPED".
I can hit OK and it goes away but within 5 seconds it's back. It is making my phone unusable.
I went into titanium backup and froze all NFC services - that didn't help anything.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

that fine that you reflash but go in to 3e Recovery by holding down Power+Vol Up+Home until you see the blue writing in the top left corner of the screen. Then let go. From there Factory Reset/ Wipe Device (Warning this will wipe data/pictures). Then Reboot.

I'm having the same issue, but wipe does not work, I am unable to turn the phone on really, it just gets to Welcome screen, where you choose your language, followed by Unfortunately, S Note has stopped, I press ok, then Unfortunately, NFC as stopped, and it does a few others and then repeats, over and over.
How can I fix?

Well, I never had this happen, so try this:
1: BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP. Nobody wants to lose data.
2: Grab the CyanogenMod you want (I recommend the latest, based on Nougat, catching cats is another reason)
3. Grab Odin, I have a copy BUT my computer is out of commission (Using my Pi 3 )
4. GET A RELIABLE USB CABLE. Any issues can make you own a Samsung brickwich.
5. Flash CM using Odin, and also flash TWRP for good luck.
Done, and hope it works.

Stuck on Boot Screen CM10

Just tried to installed CM10 on my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy II. It's been stuck at the boot animation for over 10 minutes. What can I do? My SD card bit the dust and I don't have the backup I'd made previously. I had the SD card's contents saved on my desktop but no idea where the file would be or what it's name would be for the backup I made previously.
I'm not really a n00b per say. Have flashed CM roms on other phones in the past with no issues. First time this has happened. I've tried doing a factory wipe/reset, wiping the cache and Dalvik. Multiple times. No change. Any help is much appreciated as this is my only phone.
UPDATE: Found my CMW backup files but no luck using them. CMW gives me a MD5 mismatch now. Any ideas? Where can I find a stock T-Mobile ROM of 4.1.2? (I think that was the version I had last)

UPDATE #2: So I am trying to do what's said over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513359 but getting stuck at Step 6/7. No matter what it seems Odin will not recognize my phone. Phone is in Download mode as it says to do but Odin never detects any phone plugged in. Any help?
Have latest Samsung drivers but it appears per Device Manager that it keeps getting stuck (the phone) at "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" error. Tried uninstalling device, uninstalling drivers, and reinstalling drivers. Same thing every time. I got ODIN to recognize the phone once but after a few minutes it came back with FAILED.
Wish I could figure this out. More frustrated that I can't get it at least back to stock than anything now.
If you have CM10 installed on your phone and if its stuck at boot screen. Do this:
1. Download darkside-cachewipe.zip from http://sourceforge.net/projects/darksidetools/files/ and copy it to your sdcard.
2. Remove the battery wait for 10 seconds
3. Insert the battery again. Holding the volume keys and power key, boot into recovery mode
4. Install zip from sdcard and run darkside-cachewipe.zip
5. Try booting the phone again.
6. This time it should boot correctly.

Well that seemed to work. I had to do a few other things but I ended up getting CM 10.1 RC5 installed and got to the homescreen. Problem I'm having now is I can't get a signal from my carrier at all. No matter where I'm at. It was connected to it at one point but now it doesn't. It's registering on the network because it says T-Mobile but no bars and no 4G indicator showing up whatsoever. Any ideas? Kind of useless at the moment with no signal.
EDIT: So from another post I have on the CM forums they said to look here in XDA for an updated radio? Any ideas? I'm not a n00b but I haven't modded a phone since my old HTC original Android phone years ago so I'm a bit rusty. My current Baseband is currently T989UVLE1.

Ahh yes! Done. Thanks again. Do have one last question. When I finally got into the phone again it started to re-download all my apps I'd had installed previously. But my wi-fi dropped out in the middle of it. How can I make it do that automatic download of my previous apps/settings again? Or can I?

Not sure if you can do that. Go to google playstore from your laptop and then install all the missing apps from the laptop. Its faster that way.
Me too am a flashoholic, so I create update.zip file from TitaniumBackup app and keep it for installing all my apps from the recovery mode.

[Q] Blank OS in HBOOT

Hello everyone,
So I've looked around on this topic and it's still an issue, albeit a minor one. I have the T-Mobile HTC One M8 phone........ unlocked/rooted, and S-OFF'd. I am currently using ViperOne M8, which is awesome!
When I boot to HBOOT after installing new firmware the OS line is filled in, but after booting to Recovery and going back to HBOOT, the OS line is now blank. I've been told this is a bug in TWRP, and not a bug or issue anywhere else. I've tried 2 different approaches to fixing it. One entailed flashing a new ZIP (or flashing something), but the instructions stated that I needed to boot to Recovery while in Stock Recovery, which my phone does not do. It's only when I use a TWRP Recovery that I am able to go into any Recovery Menu. The other one had to do with flashing a zipped firmware, but even though that flash worked just fine, it still didn't resolve the OS issue. I have tried looking all around, but either I'm missing something, or it's just not knowing enough about what I'm reading to recognize the right answer.
So please, will someone tell me HOW do I get rid of that pesky TWRP bug that causes the OS line in HBOOT to blank out after only 1 visit to recovery post-firmware update?
I would appreciate ANY info you can give me.
Thank You,
RockStar2005

Ok got it!
Download the modified TWRP from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=54054835
You are going to have to flash your current firmware first before installing it for the OS info to show up again in HBOOT. You can use the Flashify app to install it or else just do it the PC/ADB way using command prompt like I did. It totally worked for me, so go ahead and try it!!
If you have questions on how to flash anything, lemme know.

Hey Zac,
Forget about that TWRP. It wasn't good. Please DELETE any backups you made using it and the twrp image file itself as they are all corrupted and won't boot up (I found this out after my initial post here). Read this post I put elsewhere for the real deal Holyfield lol:
So I ended up finding a RELIABLE fixed current version of TWRP on xda you may wanna check out. You can find it here: http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?16278-SPRINT-RECOVERY-TWRP-Recovery-(UNOFFICIAL)-v2-7-0-4 (Go to that link then Control + F this: "Downloads TWRP Recovery 2.7.1.0 (DH) | Mirror (AFH) - build date: July 13, 2014". I downloaded from the Mirror link.)
Don't worry about it saying Sprint...... the dev CONFIRMED it works for all variants/carriers. So after creating a new backup using the standard twrp, I went back to stock recovery, re-flashed my most recent firmware (2.22.401.5), and then switched over to that new version of twrp........ created a new backup and then restored it using that new version. Worked like a charm!! And the "blank OS" issue........... gone! I highly recommend it!!
If you have any other questions Zac, please post here and I will respond.

I double an triple checked that.
So I did know that this blank OS only showed up after flashing the TWRP standard version.

Hey BerndM14,
I'm 99% sure I tried doing that when I got that screen you just described, and all my phone did was reboot.... and not to recovery either. I dunno. It's not a big deal as I've since resolved the issue by finding a newer "fixed" version of TWRP and/or firmware (whatever the issue was, I think it was with TWRP though).
Maybe next time I do a firmware upgrade and have to go back to stock recovery, I'll try it again.
Thanks!

So I have the same thing for my sprint galaxy s6 5.1.1 . Its rooted (obviously ) but i wanted to know if there was a way to remove the root and put everything back to normal without losing all my data. I can't connect to the google play store at all (check connection and try again). This is the main reason i want it to go back to normal. I used the unroot option in the supersu and tried uninstalling but i keep getting uninstall unsuccessful. I turned off oem unlocking and usb debugging. I dont know what else to do and im new to the site and dont know where to go for help so im posting here. Thanks in advance.

How I Rooted my S7 on Nougat. PlayStore ROM V3 *outdated but still working*

*I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR ANY OF THIS, IM JUST TELLING HOW I DID IT. I AM ALSO NOT GUARANTEING YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME OUTCOME*
*I recommend going to this new update guide by CVertigo1 in the ROM's section as this version of the PlayStore ROM is outdated.*
Credit for Root and PlayStore Rom goes to jrkruse (https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1949695)
ROOTING
1)Flashed stock Nougat ROM
2)Flashed ENG-ROOT found here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767141717
- Make sure to flash the correct kernel included in the zip file
3) Install SuperSU. Link: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862710010
- I used the regular Root.bat not the one with tweaks
FIXING LAG
1)Install Flashfire from PlayStore
2)Download the PlayStore Rom from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767144652
-Transfer the file to the S7
3)Open Flashfire and flash the zip choosing only Mount/ system read/write
4)Now AROMA Installer will pop up and go through all of the terms and conditions
-When asked what to wipe I choose to wipe everything
-Next when asked what bloat to remove I choose the PlayStore Rom which removes all bloat and replaces stock apps with google apps (To see full list of changes refer to the PlayStore thread)
5)Now when my S7 boot it showed no launcher, I simply held the home button down which opened the google search, in there I searched for the playstore app and installed Nova Launcher.
-Now reinstall SuperSU by double clicking the root.bat like before
6) Installed the following apps to help with lag; Lspeed, Greenify, Kernal Auditor, LeanDroid, Force Doze, and SSD Boost
-I used most of the settings found on Lag fix threads for the MM root
My S7 is smooth as butter after all of this, no lag spikes and random crashes like I was experiencing with just the ENG Root flashed.
EXTRA
1)I did have to to a reboot to get the camera to work properly
2) I had to download a Dialer/Contacts and Message app from the playstore because the stock ones were deleted in this process. But the store ones work just fine, I am recieving calls and messages like normal.
3) *Battery life is just a little worse than stock, might be worth waiting for Xposed to released for Nougat.*

Weird, did you wipe your S7 completely before doing the process? I would flash fresh nougat and try again.
UPDATE
Went through the entire process once more and found that wiping but keeping SU image works the best, I chose "no wipe" but it caused random reboots. I then wiped my phone and did as stated in my original post and it is working smooth once again.

Did you start on a factory fresh Nougat? It must be trying to run the setup that you first have to do when you get/wipe your phone. But you should have already done this prior IF you wiped your phone completely and started from there.
Here is another guide that you might find helpful: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s7/development/rom-t3576124

Yes the *US*S7 does have the Qualcomm processor, and this ROM does work with it. If you are looking to see if it will work for another device with the processor then I recommend looking here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1949695, for more information on the ROM and compatibility.

I've got it all in working order, but to address the issue.
It was just straight after using the first Odin file. (Flashed ENG-ROOT)
Although with hours of sitting here and determination, I came to a solution using this post and many others.
I now have my S7 (Verizon) rooted and functioning with no issues.
Thank you for sharing. :highfive: :good:

I haven't rooted a phone in a few years but I feel like I missed a fundamental step of the root process so I have a stupid question: I get to the rom flashing step and my phone can't reboot because "Custom binary locked by SECURE BOOT (boot.img)." Then I reflash the ENG-ROOT boot.img and that same secure boot blocks because of the custom modem binary. So I just reflashed stock to get it working again, but it still gives that message if I try to install something like magisk. Am I missing something?

You cannot use any custom kernels on us snapdragon models. No magisk or anything. The only root option is engboot and root.bat plus the setups to smooth it out or no root at all
