Relock the bootloader, But I wouldn't recommend it is you may brick your device.

Does it really bother you? You can just avoid looking at it when booting...

It cannot be removed yet but there should be a way soon.

Stop restarting the device lol
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using XDA-Developers mobile app

before u even think of relocking bootloader or unchecking oem unlock under developer options, flash stock recovery 1st, then u can try to unlock ur bootloader, again oneplus supports unlocked bootloaders, so if u are worried about warranty, its still under warranty with bootloader unlocked

I know security can be annoying, but come on, it does not make your device useless. It's not like if you would see it very often though.
It's good that they make people aware about the risks and implications of unlocking/rooting your device.
The most annoying thing is the spelling mistakes

It's useful to have tho, if you messed up holding volume key trying to get into recovery after rebooting from fastboot.

Just hit the power button right away, it disappears, or as some have said.. Look away or close your eyes

Updating to OOS 3.2.1 fixes the grammar errors, that will make it more bearable :good::good::good:

Is there at least a way to make it not ugly, for example like Google's example?

There is one way.
Relock your bootloader.
Or simply don't look at it when booting.
Or press power button to boot without waiting.
Or buy a Nexus to have a less ugly message regarding unlocked bootloader.
Can't seem to understand what's the problem with the this.

Very useful thread, full of "don't unlock xD LFMAO".
XDA is no longer what it used to be......

If there was a way to do that don't you think it would be here already.
If this is like my old G4 there's no way of removing that unless you Relock the bootloader.
Not even change it with another image.
So please stop asking for something that can't be done(at least for now).
And xda is what it was.
Users aren't what they use to be.
Now xda is full of users that just don't want to bother looking for answers, that ask the same question over and over again, that breaks their device and blame the dev, and so on.....

As a user already wrote, before relocking bootloader, is necessary flashing rom and recovery stocks

seems this could be done…
someone from oneplus China says there's a way…
just wait and see what he will release for us

Until someone releases a way we cannot say there's a way to do that.
Until now there isn't a way for that so my post as is true on it.
If that could be done even I would be appreciated.

By doing some reverse engineering, maybe I could sort it out. However, we would need to figure out where is that security check (should be somewhere in bootloader) and then just NOP the jmp or the check.
I currently do not own the device, and the shipping is gonna take a while. 2 weeks before mine gets dispatched

How to check if bootloader is locked or not?

Is there any code to type in to check?
I need to make sure I relocked it so I can give it back to where i bought it and buy the nexus 4
Thank you everyone who actually read it and maybe is gonna post.
Sorry for the stupid question.

when you boot the phone up, do you see a lock that looks slightly opened?
or you can boot into fastboot mode and it will tell you if its locked or unlocked.
As above. You can also boot to bootloader (vol key in + power) it will indicate locked, or unlocked there as well.

Factory reset will do exactly what it says. Might want to format the internal sd 3-7 times depending on how paranoid you are (NSA standard is being zeroed out 7 times).

How to you format internal sd card after unrooting and factory resseting?
Also you guys advice me to return this gnexus for 360€ and buy the lg nexus 4 for like 350€ online? it will have universal warranty so the warranty is no problem.
The same way you would format any media device.
Just do what you want. Asking other people for their advice won't get you what you want.

Do I have to unlock bootloader in order to unroot?
Do you know how to follow directions? I'm not trying to be rude but there is a sticky at the very top of the development section for your device that tells you everything you need to know.

Repair HTC One M9

Hey,
I have set S-ON through fastboot, and have a relocked bootloader. I cannot enter recovery ("failed to boot to recovery mode. Press volume up or down to back to menu"). I cannot boot to my OS, because it is stuck to bootloop (wanted to install xposed arm).
Firmware is 2.10.401.1 and Android 5.1.
So I cannot flash unlocktoken with fastboot, because it is not enabled in developer settings.
How do I repair this phone?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Try installing the twrp again using fastboot. Then restore or uninstall xposed maybe?
Also go to lollipop xposed thread, they have multiple files and uninstaller there so make sure you get the right one. For me it's sdk21 64 bit.
(I'm just an average consumer so it's up to you if you'd give this a try.)
Edit: I missed the point where you got a relocked bootloader. Idk the solution to that though.
I can now boot to my OS.
So in order to run sunshine I need to uninstall xposed.
Can I uninstall xposed from there?
Any flashing app? Flash Gordon does not uninstall xposed.
Other idea is to restore nandroid backup via nandroid manager. But this says "Warning: This recovery is a partial backup. It is recommended that you restore this backup via your recovery because some recoveries are not able to restore partial backups". Is that safe, because the warning supposes not.
It is "HIMA_UHL_TWRP_Nandroid_2.10.401.1" from the internet.
Edit: Or should I wait for RUU and flash original recovery and RUU from flashify?
They have uninstaller zips in the xposed lollipop thread.
You need SDK22 64bit by rom racer... Or The 64bit uninstaller in the original thread.
Thanks. But how do I run the uninstaller? I cannot boot to recovery.
Ok, problem solved.
Here's what I did: Since I enabled bootloader unlock in developer settings, I forgot to generate a new unlock_code. With the new code from HTCdev I was able to unlock bootloader and boot to recovery.
Thanks to everyone who helped in this and all other threads!
How did you get a new unlock_code?

@nerlim: I also used cmd.
When you're running Android 5.1 please make sure that oem unlocking is enabled in developer settings.

I assume you have S-On?

Please give us more information, so we can help you better:
Bootloader locked/relocked?
Which Firmware?
What ROM installed?
What Recovery installed?
Can you start Recovery?
No, it does not start in recovery
Sorry for the late reply.
Unfortunately I don't know a way of how to set the enable unlock flag via fastboot. If you're able to do so, please let us know how. Then get a new unlock_token and after you unlocked the bootloader flash twrp.
If this is not possible you should flash RUU. Your version isn't published yet. However you could try the previous RUU. This might cause problems with your firmware. You're responsible for what you do!
Otherwise I don't see any other option than wait for a new RUU.
Btw: What have you done to your device? No unlocked bootloader and S-ON... Looks like no major changes from your side.
Did you ever figure out how to fix your phone?
I also have my phone "LOCKED with S-ON", can't access it with USB programming, and its stuck in a Boot loop.
i had this problem too
all i did was :ENTER RECOVERY MODE MANUALLY
even thou the phone goes there automatically, when in the "automatic" recovery mode go to reboot, press select(power) then hold down volume and it should reboot into recovery mode(it looks a bit different from the one you're on now) and then you can unlock your bootloader again
i was looking for a solution too because i couldn't go to developer mode because the phone kept rebooting in recovery mode so i decided to play with the buttons a bit
that's how it worked in my case just a moment ago

Should we wait to see if it is rooted ?

I have in the past setup my new devices, spent hours then somebody finally roots the device.
This usually means wiping the device, unlocking the bootloader, rooting and reinstalling everything again.
It is much easier if the first thing I do is unlock the bootloader and then root.
I then set up my device, and back up everything using Titanium Backup.
What do you do keep using the old device for a few weeks and wait for news and a procedure to unlock the bootloader and root ?

Not even ordering until I am sure that is all in place.
Can anyone buy the pixel for me and send it to me in Zimbabwe, I cannot order it for now.
I'm waiting for a method of gaining root access to be achieved before placing my order. The phone I have now (Nexus 6) still works fine so I'm in no rush. Also, I am kind of interested in seeing what kind of reviews the XL gets anyways. Mainly regarding the volume of the speaker.

You will almost certainly have root access on this device. The bootloader looks to be unlockable unless you get the Verizon branded version.
Remember, root doesn't mean supersu, or even the su binary. Root means the ability to run commands in the superuser context. You will have that at the very least. From there a new solution to give root access to normal android applications may need to be developed, but that is only a matter of time. As long as your bootloader is unlockable, you can build whatever you need into the kernel as a module, or run a service from init (like daemonsu).

in the past only unlocking the bootloader erased data... not the actual rooting. why not just unlock the bootloader before setting it up, continue to use the device as you please, and then just wait until a root method is released?

That is what I normally do...... unlock the bootloader right out of the box (it wipes the phone then before you set it up) then you have the option to root later on if you like.
ill keep my s7. the phone looks smooth And fluid but i hate the design. its also way overpriced.
How could you wait? Buy it. If for some wild reason we couldn't get root. I'm sure it would still be returnable. If you wait, the phone will already have root and a custom ROM before one ever shows up on your doorstep.lol

I don't do that.... I usually buy Verizon and purposely get at least 3 phones and return them as defective when I dont have root to my own device. Just as a little F-U to them. Then I finally hack my own phone and go with it. But I'll return as many as I can as defective first until they wise up and stop sending them to me.
You simply should not have to pay extra when hardware and software shouldn't be tied together in the first place. Why would I pay extra for an unlocked device that is exactly the same hardware as the locked one.
That is definitely the most immature thing I've heard all week.
You don't like their policies so you are 'showing them'? Give me a break. My 11 year old grew out of that behavior 5 years ago...

Dude its not hard to completely re set your phone quit being lazy I do it like 30 + times in 2 months, and install many themes apps widgets and configurations. I also use Nova launcher back up where you just have to install widget apps etc. But re setting a phone is nothing and do not expect root on this phone. Just google search root pixel phones. Many sources say its going to be impossible. Hope you didnt get it for root purposes. lol

I even already wait 3rd year cause I skip ugliest nexus 6p and now pixel xl which has no unlocked bootloader and no root, and on top of that it has NOT wireless charging AGAIN !!!
I'm incredibly disappointed because Pixel XL seems good even it has HUGE, gigantic bezels on top and bottom.
For now Nexus 6 is the best and hope not the last google phone.

Modified Stock Boot Logo for g5 (cedric) (remove bootloader unlocked warning)

Hello, after searching and only finding the g5+ (potter) modified boot logo to get rid of the bootloader unlocked and accidentally flashing it on my moto g5 and soft bricking the phone i decided to take matter on my own hands and made this, it's the stock g5 (cedric) boot logo modified to not show the bootloader unlocked warning (just the screen with the orange letters got replaced as it was the one that was showing on my phone, if you need some other screen patched just tell me and i'll make another version of the logo)
NOTE: THIS WAS ONLY TESTED ON XT1676 (16/3/DUAL), PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK
to install it, boot to bootloader and run
Code:
fastboot flash logo logo1.bin
and reboot
Hope this is useful!
We've had this bootloader unlocked screen covered ages ago, I don't think there's much point to this thread.

I don't even know how the other one looks as it booted straight to fastboot. This one is the stock boot logo, straight out of the November full firmware image that's floating around here, but with the warning removed
Well either way this all seems way too risky, I'd say the best splash logo to flash is one that is specifically made for this device rather than one that's been modified, originally having been made for another device, therefore could be considered ported.
I suggest this one to anyone looking to get rid of bootloader unlocked warning, as well as the annoying "n/a": https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/themes/motorola-boot-logo-n-removed-t3663735
Either I am bad at explaining or you guys suck at reading. This IS THE STOCK CEDRIC (G5, NOT G5+, NOT G5S, NOT G5S+) BOOT ANIMATION!!!!! It's taken directly off official firmware! Only thing I did is edited the BIN so instead the bootloader unlock warning it shows the original boot logo, THAT'S IT!

If your software is old enough (Marshmallow) you would be able to s-off with Sunshine without unlocking your bootloader, and then root the device. You'd have to pay $25 for it in that case.
The only other option I can think of is to ask the Sunshine team if they'd be able to manually s-off your phone without wiping it. That would require you to mail them your device (and pay the $25), so it depends on how desperate you are. You'd have to ask them if that's even possible.
Else, not much you can do.

Your bootloader being unlocked is not related to sim/network unlocking. The bootloader was unlocked prior to the s-off process. You can leave it as it is.

No.
So I have gotten TWRP installed and I cannot for the life of me get SuperSU installed. I tried to install Magisk first and it failed or it's on there and does nothing. I have followed a few different videos but for whatever reason I cannot get SUperSu to install. Any ideas? I have tried installing from TWRP and also tried installing from adb sideload both "worked" but no SU Icon and no root?
Solved the Issue, I stopped trying to install SuperSu and did an adb sideload of Magisk and got Root. Thanks guys for all your help

You cant, when you unlock the bootloader to be able to flash TWRP all data will be wiped. No choice there.

No idea never needed to use any so can't give any insight on that. I always use Google photos with cloudsync or onedrive. Works great and no worries about lost pictures.
Already S-off and bootloader unlocked. How to get root without erasing data?
