if you still using stock rom 4.2.2 ,great news you can now enable soft keys on your phone
all what we need is (Requirments)
1-moded system ui flashable zip
2-rooted device with exposed installed
3-root explorer or other root browser
4-moded frameeork-res.apk if you want small height o navigation bar
at first flash that system ui normal.zip via recovery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/k92aumts8oglnqx/s5 SystemUI v5 Normal.zip?dl=0
(this is themed system ui to look like S5 thx to vadakkeveetil who provide it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2760990
●then I moded that system ui to show navigation bar
download that moded system ui and flash it after you flash the first one and rebooted your phone for one time
(download link in attachments)
after flashing the 2nd system ui file
open your root explorer and go to system>build prop ,right click on it and choose open with text editor and paste that line and save
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
reboot your phone ,,now you have navigation bar on staock 4.2.2 rom
another thing>in my phone I changed dpi to 235 instead of 240 you can do that through editing build prop and change
ro.sf.lcd_density=235
all the work I made by my self and it took me too much time to mod it ,if you liked my work please hit thanks
now download files
•if you change small height of navigation bar just replacr th8s moded framework with the stock one (height changed from 42 to 28)

thx mate
do you know how to add keyboard navigation left and right to navigation bar ?????
I saw it in carbon and cm roms

@elswerky (Els), Vishal from TG here.
I think this link will be helpful: https://developer.android.com/training/keyboard-input/navigation.html
Look for Handle Tab Navigation and onwards.
If you still need help, check this thread, very useful, and informative: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26985937/android-navigation-bar-on-side-by-editing-aosp. Though the thread mentions for AOSP, it can be used for almost all MM ROM's.

This rom is fantastic. Luv the way u have made it mostly "kitkat"ish.
1, The dark transparent backgrounds work beaurifully and the additional apps from Xposed does wonders.
2,Very stable.
3, Camera works but the default is down at 8mp even with patch. So the best thing to use is Lenovo Super Cam apk.
4, This rom can fool anybody that its kitkat since even the easter egg portrays it.
5, External mem shows as internal. Although most will prefer it, I prefer default since the phone has enough space for apps. So I modified that with a small change in the vold.fstab file. If anyone needs the same, buzz me.
Keep up the great work. Cheers mate. Thanks a lot

This is a extremely good rom but there are some problems
1. Photosphere laggy (we cant say its working at all)
2. Unused sim stays at the statusbar.
Else its the best rom yet for the device. And the looks are awesome.

I dunno about the photosphere issue since i use Supercam but in order to get rid of the unused sim bars, just use Xposed Framework, Gravitybox module. In that, you will find the option to hide inactive signal bars under status bar tweaks or some similar option. Did the trick for me mate. Cheers:good:

Amazing rom !
We do have to fix 3 things on our own though like internal memory shows as external can be easily fixed by replacing the vold.fstab file in system/etc by another custom vold.fstab file .then camera patch provided in the OP by extracting them and then replacing the ones in system/lib and setting permissions to rw-r-r. And making sure you do a reboot after each change .
A lot of tedious work but yes a very stable rom no issues yet not in wifi not in anything at all

When I replace the SystemUI apk with the themed one I seem to lose wi-fi calling. I wanted the full theme notification toggles and all but still retain wifi calling. Is this possible?
This is BOSS! Many THANKS! How can we get/extract the additional toggles found in other ROMs? Do I have to install a different ROM just to copy the toggle names listed in the settings.db of those ROMs? Or what else do we need to do to acquire 41 or now 46 toggles found in say Infamous, by example now?
Currently I have 29 toggles (-) 1 that doesn't show an icon on FireKat v10 using BobCat Theme v2.0 + the v2.1 Update! And the torch edit of the system.db didn't seem to work with my ROM combination unfortunately... TX!

Lol! :highfive: Oh here I am again @Y2Ne1 with both my appreciation & questions as follows: Ok, you know my situation for the most part. Current ROM I'm running as you well know is giving me some undesirable issues. I've been scolded in said thread for not following PRECISE yet recently re-edited specific directions about not using TIBU, GREENIFY ONLY USER APPS, ect...
So yea, my bad.. But not happy with my battery drain on "said" ROM along with "Wi-Fi" calling quirks, thus my interest as stated in the DynamicKat Rom v4.1 to hopefully if I get time this weekend, start FRESH and move to it. And now you got me really stoked adding in this "BobKat" theming option for it as you also well know I've been dying for. :good::good:
So let me just clarify what my best course would be here.
1) Backup current ROM just for kicks...
2) Odin the BASE Official T-Mobile Samsung official ANK4 stock firmware
3) Follow Root & TWRP instructions as I did originally of course way back and also as you do point out.
4) Now here is were I don't want to mess up but "think" was suggested by possibly you and maybe a few others: Boot to TWRP Recovery - Do ALL wipes INCLUDING INTERNAL but of course exclude wiping the External SD obviously since I have all my stuff on it along with where I will have the DynamicKat Rom v4.1 Rom - I believe the GPE/light or whatever, sorry gotta re-read your directions regarding that... - And, your FULL BobCat theme specific for DynamicKat v4.1 Rom that you created.
Am I missing any pertinent steps here? I want complete "Fresh" no left-overs from previous ROM when all said and done of course.

[Flashable Zip]Huge UI mod for stock apps for Jellybean (G3 style)

This mod will change default apps UI to look like G3:
Contact, Phone, Setting, Lockscreen, Home, Message, Camera
Little icon change for:
Internet, videos, calculator, gallery
How to:
1. You must have a file manager for editing Example.apk, X-PLORE file manager is always highly recommended:
2. Download zip from attachments, open mod & copy(replace) "res" folder in Example.apk.
3. Replace your new Example.apk with the original one in system/app.
4. You MUST always Restart your phone to get the right result! Possible Force closes before restart are normal
Done! Enjoy!
Flashable zip is here!please reply the result
----------editing apk files with X-plore file manager:
hold on an apk file & select "open as archive" & then you can modify APKs easily
----------how this mod works?
this mod will replace only some pictures in Example.apk
If you don't like a change, easily delete its picture from mod folder & copy pics again to the original copy of Example.apk.
!! remember to have the original STOCK APK files somewhere safe !!
I suggest to copy the system/"app" folder somewhere safe
If you want to have changeable status bar & navbar colors same as action bar(flat style like my screenshot, you can use FlatStyleColoredBars! Even on 4.1 like myself. All the credits goes to ibocharov, that's a great module & worthy to buy the pro if you like!
BUT IT'S ONLY FOR 4.3+! BUT NO PROBLEM, install Xinstaller Xposed module & disable checking sdk version & it will be installed & will work on 4.1 jellybean perfect!
NOTE: use the 0.63 or lower versions of flatstylecoloredbars on jellybean, the newer versions cause serious force closes! If you've already faced the problem, use Xposed recovery mode:
Restart the phone, once you see boot animation, press volume down four times or more!
That's how I solve the problem on my (locked bootloader-no custom recovery) device!
The 0.63 version that I'm already using it, is perfect for jellybean,I've attached it(edited, works with 4.1 without other modules )
If you want to have G3 style notification bar & lollipop Navigation bar on your Optimus G like the screenshot, here is the place:

The problem is my phone is not unlocked & I don't know how to make flashable zip!
But I make you sure even by deleting the apps above, phone will boot normally(tested) & you can replace or copy your original apps, they will be restored FOR SURE.
Also that's not that much hard to modify them! At most 10 minutes for all of them!

[MODv3] [NMF26V] NavBar Tuner, Additional QS Tile Rows, NavBar DPI - TWRP Flashable

**I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES TO YOUR DEVICE. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK**
**UPDATE v3 2017.01.04**
I've updated the mod to NMF26V. NMF26V increased the size of the NavBar to a ridiculous 48dpi, so I've had to add mod intermediate steps. I've also added 0dpi/0dpi, as some people have requested this. So far, I've tested each version and it has worked, but if you find an issue, let me know and I'll fix it. You can always return to stock.
The mods that can be applied are:
NavBar/StatusBar dpi
0dpi/0dpi
0dpi/20dpi
0dpi/24dpi
32dpi/24dpi
32dpi/20dpi
36dpi/24dpi
36dpi/20dpi
40dpi/24dpi
40dpi/20dpi
44dpi/24dpi
44dpi/20dpi
48dpi/20dpi
SystemUI Mods
NavBarUI Manager + Brightness
NavBarUI Manager + Brightness + 4 QS Tiles
NavBarUI Manager + Brightness + 4 QS Tiles + Battery Mod
Download here Stranula_Full_Flash_v3
**/UPDATE**
**UPDATE**
I've now used Aroma to make a TWRP flashable zip making this much easier to install.
Now in order to install, simply download the Stranula.Full.Flash.v2.zip reboot to TWRP recovery, install the zip, and select which mods you want. You can only select one SystemUIGoogle.apk and one framework-res.apk to install. I've also now included the stock apks, so you can easily revert back.
Download Stranula.Full.Flash.v2.zip
**/Update**
Coming from Galaxy devices, I got used to the "Back" button on the right and the "Recents" button on the left of the device, and have been trying to figure out a way to do this on the Pixel.
After looking at [MOD] - WETA UI Mods - [3MinitBattery][NavTuner][centerclock][navbarheight], I knew this had the answer, but I couldn't get it to work on NMF26Q, so after a bit of googling, I found this [MOD][GUIDE] Enable Navbar Tuner for Nougat [7.0] which gave me what I needed to make the mod myself. Finally, thanks to help from fritzgerald I also now know how to add the full battery % in the status bar instead of the battery icon (more details here [GUIDE] Add Battery % to Statusbar ! [Updated Stock 2.3+, CM9/10/10.1 etc -28.9.14])
I made 3 versions, and unless someone suggests a change that I would personally use, I do not intend to make any other changes, or respond to requests.
SystemUIGoogle-NavBar+Brightness.apk has the modifcation to add NavBar Tuner to the SystemUI Tuner as well as the option to remove the brightness slider from the dropdown.
SystemUIGoogle-NavBar+Brightness+4Tile.apk has the same, but additionally, when the full QS is pulled down, it will display 4 columns instead of 3.
SystemUIGoogle-NavBar+Brightness+4Tile+BatteryMod.apk has the same, but additionally has the battery % in the statusbar.

I've gone ahead and made a 0dpi, 32dpi, 36dpi, and 40dpi version. The 0dpi will leave you with no NavBar, so make sure you already have another option installed.
If this helps you, please say thanks!

**Manual Install Instructions**
SystemUIGoogle.apk

4. If it does not ask for your password, reboot to recovery again
5. Select Mount
5.1 Check System

8.2 Select Copy File
9. Navigate to /system/system/framework/
10. Select the Check Mark in the bottom right corner to copy

It's an old mod, I just pulled it in to this framework. Haven't really modded since my SGS2 but figured I'd start it up again. Feel free to shoot a PM if you ever get stuck and want a second set of eyes.
I've updated this mod with a TWRP flashable zip file containing all of the mods in one. I don't have any testers, so I've only tested it myself, and so far everything is working.
If you happen to use these mods, and the installer, please let me know if everything works, or if you experience any problems.

I'm really only proficient enough to implement changes other people have done the work to figure out. I was a bit more involved a couple of years ago, and this is my first jump into modding Nougat, so I'm still trying to refamiliarize myself. That being said, if you can point me to guides for Mods of interest, I can try to implement them.

I haven't tried. My #1 recommendation is to update then install. However, if that was what you wanted to do, you wouldn't have asked.
So, my #2 recommendation is to go into TWRP, mount system, open file manager, rename /system/system/framework/framework-res.apk to framework-res.apk.bkk and /system/system/priv-app/SystemUIGoogle/SystemUIGoogle.apk to SystemUIGoogle.apk.bkk.
Now you've backed up your original files. Install my mods and reboot. If they work, awesome, let us know. If they do not, boot back into TWRP and restore your original files, then come back here and let us know.

I don't know what you mean.
If you don't want the navbar tweak, don't install the framework-res.apk.
The framework-res has the navbar dpi edits. The systemuigoogle has the other edits.

immersive nav bar for Stock Oreo.

Hello guys. I just wanna share my humble contribution to Xz xda community.
Today i'm uploading a mod that "remove" navbar add the possibilty to add a immersive navbar like LG G3 does.
I'm not responsable if my mod brinks your device (I hope it don't do it). Keeps the ftf file near by. Lol
I'm not ready to give the respective credits to guys that help did this mod. Next step I will.
You Will need install simple control or any other softkeys program to add a immersive navbar Before apply my patch, because you Will have no navbar to configure privileges and other stuffs after flash it.
Don't use a diferent immersive mod version that your stock rom or you Will get an infinite crash pop-ups....
Install method:
Flash zip in twrp recovery as any other flashable zip.
Expect that someone enjoy it!
Screenshot:
New release for last stock firmware:
Now I create an all "immersive" bar mod. No status bar. If you wanna invoke it, you can configure the navbar shortcut to do it!
Updated to last stock firmware: 99.

Dear 888Leander, all mods that I have tested cause a incredible lsgs tô wake up screen. Sometimes I need to force restart my Phone to access my apps. This get me a so angry.
After all, all programs take enable immersive Mode don't give me all screen space: eg: home screen and Facebook.
Note the bluebar at screen bottom.
So I prefer to apply a mod that remove navbar snd statusbar once for all and add a "immersive navbar".
This is my prefer setup. Maybe your is good for you.
