i9195 Can't boot after attempting root - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently attempted to root my phone using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387341 however despite ODIN being all OK I got the error Set Warranty Bit : Kernel and the phone would just do nothing after that. Then I tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980 (although I had to sideload one of the zips rather than copy it) but I still get the same error. I can boot into Recovery and Download mode, but that's it. Thank you for any help.

Update; Now I've got a firmware from Sammobile but whenever I flash it with ODIN I get an error on hidden.img.ext4. Any ideas?

OK, now I am confused... you rooted or added a custom boot loader. Did both???
Since you are new to doing such things... I bet you have done the wrong Odin and settings. It is possible you did not enable USB debugging and could have messed up your device. So many variables you have not listed and leaves us to guess at something that you are not clear on.
Also there is a good rooting app that is easy and does not require Odin. I used it once on my ATT 5120 without a hitch.
As for a boot loader... I hope you are talking about the Recovery Uploader. That too may not work since you have not enabled USB debugging.
Your only option if you can get into the Recovery... Is to push a recovery firmware through Kies. I truly hope you have at least installed that and etup a good backup before starting on the failed root.

What rooting app is that? I keep getting stuck at "ERROR: Failed to confirm end of file transfer sequence! ERROR: RECOVERY upload failed!" using heimdall on a mac.

Tried Kies Recovery - Firmware error!

SGH-I747 (non rooted)
4.4.2 KitKat OTA
I have read a ton of the (un-brick) post on the forums, but they are all rooted phones, and the problem is usually because people tried to install the wrong ROM, but this phone is not rooted.
After OTA update, the phone was fine for a while (wife's). Then is started to reboot randomly. Did factory reset, and still had the same problem.
So I picked up an S5 for my wife and put her S3 in a box. Yesterday i tried to fix the S3 with Kies, tried firmware recovery, failed (Firmware upgrade encountered an issue).
Can get to download mode but that is it. Tried Odin, back to stock file (fail auth), so im guessing because i was trying to flash older ROM, looked for new (KK) ROMs but they are not Odin friendly, then read something about bootloader and 4.4.2 will not work, so i gave up after that.
Kies, emergency recovery will not work, fails every time, so what are my options?
thanks in advance.

I suggest you flash the latest version of Philz Touch for the d2lte in Odin from here: https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d2lte/
Copy a the latest cm10.2 ROM to your sd card.
Boot into recovery and flash CM10.2. Install the Samsung Phone Info App from the Play Store and confirm the installed bootloader and modem.
Alternatively, you could flash TWRP as your recovery, boot into TWRP, open a terminal windows, and type getprop ro.bootloader to get the bootloader version.

Help! boot loop - Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock

Hello, i have a SM-G920P model, its on a boot loop with the message on the top in red:
KERNEL ITS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock.
factory reset using the stock recovery and its the same.
i downloaded the latest firmware from sammobile and tried to flash it with odin 3. but odin always gets stuck on "Nand Write Start!!".. and doesnt do nothing for hours. i also tried an older version of Odin (1.3) and its stuck also on the flash. also tried to flash custom recovery..
i read somewere that using kies "fimware upgrade and initialization" works.. kies said that my phone was no supported, but the tool did accepted my phone model, but not my serial no. located on the back of phone (in odin mode is the same number). if somebody have the same model can give me their s/n so kies can download the firmware and i can flash using kies.
or does somebody know any good tricks i can do??
thanks
I need help too!

Yes, use Odin to install the latest stock ROM. There are numerous threads right here explaining how to do this and providing links. But....
Download Odin from here: http://www.samsungodindownload.com/
Download the latest stock: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24343351889231947

I tried that.
I'm getting this message at the stock recovery screen at the bottom:
Supported API: 3
dm-verity verification failed...
Need to check DRK first...
When I start odin, it gives me a fail shortly after. I cant figure out what to do. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

It looks like it will start to download as I can see the blue download bar on my phone, but I get a fail on odin.
It say Unsupport Dev_type under UDC START

I've personally never seen or heard of ODIN showing such a message, so my ability to aid you is greatly hindered. As a last resort, download the BPA1 full firmware and the vzw PIT file for re-partitioning from the same thread I linked before (instructions are either in post #2 or #3). Good luck.
Be sure to factory reset and wipe cache partition from recovery before any of this, if you can.

SM-J200GU/DS Stock firmware?

Hello,
While trying to root my J200GU I accidently wiped the OS. Now I am left with the TWRP recovery mode and access to Download mode.
I have been trying to flash a stock firmware to my phone using different methods without success:
1- Used Odin tool but it fails when it begins to write the rom
2- ADB sideload - Gives me an error saying the rom is missing the META INF
3- TWRP Install - I tried different zipped roms and all of them give me error saying cannot detect MD5, although the file is there inside.
I am very confused I dont know what is wrong. I am not sure if the roms I use are good but since I already tried multiples I might be doing somethin else wrong.
Can anyone help me out. Does anyone has a stock rom that actually works? or a method?
Thanks.
V.
download the official samsung firmware at sammobile then flash it through odin.
