AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on the Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, AICP was always AOKP based. Unfortunately when AOKP stopped their development AICP changed their base to CM and now LineageOS when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or LineageOS team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't LineageOS supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
In the beginning we would like to thank:

Latest Beta Release Version 12.1
Download link: AICP
Recommended Gapps: OpenGapps
Some negligible issues that I'm working on. Keep an eye on Post#3
AICP should contain everything you need to enjoy Nougat. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know what you are doing
Full wipe, flash rom, flash gapps, boot
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows EmotionOS source with some custom additions:
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
At this time OTA is not supported.

This ROM is currently in Beta status. I know there are some issues. If you find something, trust in the fact that I more than likely already know about it and am working on resolving it.
Network location isn't working so you will have to set your time zone manually for now. LiveDisplay also uses network location so there may be times where it may be in Night mode when it shouldn't. You can either change this away from auto or manually change it or just have it off. It is very rare that it is set to night for me during the day, but has happened.
SnapDragon Camera is the stock camera. It works, but even though it shows 4K video it won't work in 4K mode, yet. It will tell you if you try. Use 1080p for now, but I'm working on 4K. 3rd party cameras like footej camera does record in 4k
Fingerprint recognition:
Thanks to @jbm0329 for mentioning this tip
jbm0329 said:
If anyone else has an issue with the fingerprint, a tip that I picked up months ago from another ROM was while setting up the fingerprint, do NOT stop at the last swipe. Try to give it another quick swipe or two after the last one and it should have an additional vibration to let you know that it accepted your fingerprint.
Just tried this ROM late last night and I was about to be frustrated and remove it but because I tried this tip, I was able to register a fingerprint and then able to add 2 more... now the fingerprint icon shows up on the lock screen.
Hope this helps

Faster swiping worked better for me than slower did and I registered the same finger multiple times. It can sometimes still be temperamental, but more often than not works great. I use my Moto360 as a trusted device so it wont lock when its paired, but this works as a great secondary option for me as I can unlock with my fingerprint with the screen off so it wakes unlocked.

Wow! Some new life in the Note 4!!! Will wifi work on EPE3 baseband or is this still DOK2??
Oh yeah, 1st!!

How about Bluetooth? Any issues with it??
Thanks.

Since I know it will get asked because it seems to get asked quite often. I am answering this in regards to my experience. BT audio works, BT in-call audio works, FB (even though it is a resource and battery hog) works.

Well via the download link you'll have two roms to play with.
AICP is cm based, BrokenROM is not

Thanks for bringing AICP to Note 4 Tmobile. Downloading and will test it out.. I hate to downgrade to DOK2, but I guess I will have to !!!

If you are looking for a good dark theme, this is what I'm using.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blazze11.euphoria.dark
Don't forget to reboot after to make sure the theme gets fully applied.

Is there anyway to change notifications from white background and black text?

broken works better. I had the name before there was a rom and lets just say that there are issues with the team and some mods on xda so the team has elected not to start or allow threads on xda so we'll leave it at that. I'll post AICP but continue to work on and improve on both, and you'll be able to see updates to both on my afh account. I will not build just just for the sake of building to get a new date right now. The major things I need to fix on both is the camera. While it works better with broken, there are still issues. Default APN and no data on first boot are not an issues with broken, but is on AICP so I have to figure out what I'm missing there. Camera is more of a priority as there is an easy fix for the default APN issue for the first boot. The loss of data on boots after first boot and random loss of data should be a thing of the past

I hope you stick around for a while...I have no plans to jump to Note 7.... my gut tells me it will be locked down. AICP is running great, I've got Viper & Xposed running with now issues.

[ROM] [4.4.4] SlimKat (toro) [STABLE/WEEKLY]

SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
SlimKat is the project name for SlimRoms based on Android 4.4 and offers the following original features:
The Real Dark Slim
Full system-wide dark interfaces. - If you like it smooth and classy.
Custom Shortcuts. Everywhere.

Disclaimer: SlimRoms are not responsible for any damages to your device.
Some hints:
1. Be sure you are on latest CWM or TWRP recovery!!!!!!
2. Not all gapps packages right now are nice working. You can try others but at least I know that the one linked here is working. If you have other gapps which are working you can link it here of course
3. Full wipe when coming from any 4.3 or 4.4 rom (as well format system manually please)
Reporting Bugs
When you submit a bug you want to make sure that nothing from your side is causing it. Otherwise your developer might be hunting a bug which doesn't really exist.
The best way to achieve this is by doing the following.
1. Make a nandroid backup.
2. Perform a full wipe (factory reset + wipe /system)
Now we have two different ways depending on what kind of problem you're having.
3a. When you're having a problem with a ROM function, flash just the ROM without GAPPS etc. and boot back into the system. You will boot directly onto the homescreen.
3b. When you're having a problem with a 3rd party app in combination with our ROM then flash the ROM and GAPPS.
Boot now back into the system. You will boot to the setup wizard.
Log in to your Google account but make sure that you untick "Restore from my Google Account to this phone/tablet".
Finish the setup and open the playstore and download only the app you're having problems with.
4. Start a logcat recording and reproduce the bug (if possible more than once) while taking the logcat. If you don't know how to get a logcat read this tutorial or this.
5. Post the logcat in a txt file (this is important because you otherwise clog up the threads with your log) in the correct thread.
Please also write detailed description how we can reproduce the bug.
6. Restore your backup from point 1 and wait for a fix (don't ask for ETAs).
First. Also, Thanks!
Can this be home brewed?
EDIT: NVM
Damn right. I'm on slimbean weekly now, gonna nandroid this ***** right now and shoot over to slimkat. THANKS!

on maguro for 80% gps is working. There seems to be some user with GPS problems where we do not know why exactly...for most it works....on our team phones it works on all phones lol so:
Try to test it with GPSTest from playstore and if it does not work we need logcats

GPS is spotty for me so far, sometimes it works other times it just sits there. Only tested in my house so far, will see how it works tomorrow out in other areas. Other than that, only the noted issues so far.
Nice work, glad to see yet another 4.4 ROM for the VZW Galaxy Nexus! I think we're even beating the GSM Galaxy Nexus now!! Haha.
and just when I decide to capture a logcat while trying gps, it worked first time. Of course
I just got a build done and testing. I can't believe how smooth it is for being an alpha. This is going to be a sick rom when it hits beta builds. Awesome work!
I'm guessing LTE works on this?

If you do I am available for testing.
been running two other Alpha builds One from here and one from RootzWiki. Strange but for some reason the one from here was like 153mb while the one from there was 328mb I think. That is the one I am running now and I am really digging it this KK will be scrumptrulescent when modded and themed!!!!! SUPERFAST and not that many glitches for Alpha builds. Anyways let me know, I am available for testing.

I haven't actually flashed any of the 4.4 ROMs yet (just got crdroid 4.3.1 set up with kitkat apps and I like the working data), just thought I'd put my two cents in on the graphical glitches. I've seen several posts for different ROMs talking about glitches in animations, just curious if turning off animations in developer settings would "fix" the problem until it's actually worked out?

Or switch of WiFi either will work.

About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Features
Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously. But here is one for now:
Here are just a few of our features:

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.
5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

I am very low on bandwidth,so could you please tell high end games which were not working in CM are working in this rom?
And no source on this thread??
Rom sources need not be linked all the time as all the files contain apache code written in them.. I was just busy so couldn't upload them.. I'll do in sometime if its against the rules.. I am not sure about the games as i don't own the device.. It's pretty much smooth for everyday use.. No idea about gaming.. You can wait for other people's reviews..

Yuh the issue is solved by turning off pocket mode and a reboot.

1) All games working.(including the ones which were not working on CM)
2) Smother and swift.
3) Only one Fc found which is mention in OP.

Can you please make min brightness more minimum(making it more darker) cause it is eating battery. And now i am out of bandwidth so could not download kernel source.

MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP. We update our source code frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features of our own at the same time.

Not really this is just a stock mokee rom
So what is the difference between this one and the one in Android Development? And what makes this one eligible for Orig Dev and not the other one?
I like your work one the other one, just wanted to know what the difference is in this one.
OC/UV removed, eh? Eh, it seems to be flying along anyways lol...
But just to know, is there a kernel that works with this Rom?
@mtb3000gt
Will you be releasing your custom kernel separately from this?

@byrdcfmma, @LOWCOUNTRYDAVE, This is recognized as 'unofficial' by MoKee. The one in original development is also unofficial by mtb3000gt, but not recognized by MoKee. Considered this version as 'official unofficial,' and the other as 'unofficial.'. But the main difference is, with this version, you can get OTA updates. Just thank @mtb3000gt for his hard work for getting this officially "unofficial!"

That's what I asked in the first reply of this thread, and mtb3000gt implied that it wasn't just the same ROM with ota updates, so it left me wondering. No big deal, just wondering if it's worth me switching over ATM. The unofficially unofficial one has been the best KitKat ROM I've used on this device by far.

You may experience some issues, but it's definetly a daily driver. I would call it beta
I would not give it Daily Driver status... it has potential but not there yet.

There are a lot of changes incoming. (for the most part they are related to the kernel) The force reboot issue, which could happen is already fixed and only have to be merged. I'm really happy that we have devs like them :highfive:

The changes are just updating the kernel to what CM has and they're from motorola.
Also, @thompatry and I are cracking away at the speakerphone bug. We've accomplished breaking the mic, or fixing the volume but adding some extreme feedback, or causing the device to not boot at all
So, progress
We'll try to keep you guys updated on that
If any of you have ideas to throw at us to fix it (please think through them and test if you can) please do
Would it help, if I make a adb logcat during a call?
Edit: The extreme feedback also exists on CM if you call through both speakers instead oft just the top one. If I remember correctly our MXP has 3 mics, 2 for noice cancelling. Maybe disabling one or two would help
Am I missing it or is there no customization of the Power Menu?
Plus boot up and reboot times seem very long compared to other roms for this phone
Has anyone figure how to stop the notification light from flashing while on the charger but still be set up to receive notifications without turning off the notification light?
Ah the little things do make such a difference.

You'd have to dig around, I don't think so but I'm not sure
Pretty sure there isn't extreme feedback on Slim, or so I was told by @thompatry, I don't own a clark myself.
Dunno about reboot times tho
And yeah, we're aware its a common bug on a lot of roms, but we're not letting that stop us
We'll get there eventually
I had one reboot during a call and few ui freezes.... Btw the rom is awsome and it sleeps like a baby. Thanks! Waiting for the next =]
very stable rom fast and smooth and light no bloatware at all, is there anyway to add the color calibration from stock versions i just like the saturated colors hehe
This rom is amazing. Its is one the fastest I have seen on the X Pure. Thanks a lot
Can you please add clear all option in the recents panel and advanced reboot option?
I'm facing a bug: Whenever someone calls me I'm unable to hear their voice but they can hear me, but when I call them both of us are able to hear each other and there are no problems.

Glad to hear the ROM is good, but we didn't tweak color calibration from cm's kernel, and unless it's handled in-kernel, there's no way for us to add it, and I'm almost 100% positive that we're using a motorola based kernel.

Just want to say thank you for this. Been running great since I installed last night.
Only thing I'm not liking, and it's not your fault, it's an upstream thing is Camera quality. I definitely notice that the quality of the pics on RR are degraded from stock sense. (Yes I've tried multiple cameras) Again just a nitpicky thing. Other than this this is my new DD.

If you find a solution you'll be a god...Without knowing much it's gotta be a driver someplace, but that's as far as my understanding of Android and the components go. If we were on a Windows machine talking about tweaking it out, I'd have some better ideas.

Yup I saw that. Though I'm sure he has a list of changes that he's working on. Not sure where the camera in his list of things to address. Don't want to bug him either, all the hard work is appreciated. I'm sure if he has something up his sleeve he'll get to it when appropriate. But hey maybe we'll get lucky and he'll give us a good surprise soon.

Hi @tabp0le
Thanks a lot for finally making a thread for this ROM. Best AOSP experience on this phone. I had a small request though. I hope you don't mind. The spacing of the network traffic monitor is a bit larger than the other icons. Could that be made more uniform? Thanks! Also does OTA work?
Oh yeah work for you fine.

No small framework things like that are up to the RR devs. I build as they create it, but add stuff. No OTA as of now.
