Which is the best ROM for GX8-RIO-L03C69B004 - Huawei GX8

Hi guys. I just bought a GX8-RIO-L03C69B004, one SIM and 2gb Ram (16Gb inner storage). I'm happy with the design and photo quality, etc. Battery duration: its a dream come true. But I have to say that I'm not happy at all with general performance. My Gs4 with GPE JFLTE 5.1 ROM made by @devth rocks in speed and performance so much more!!! I don't feel that octacore at all!!. Also the official Android M update has not been released here in Mexico so I can test if EMUI 4 performs better.
Because all the above, I really want to try a custom ROM to see if the phone works faster without EMUI. I don't like CM roms because they are super buggy, camera-wifi problems all the time, they are not just what I expect from a custom ROM. I see PAC ROM doesn't support my device. I'm wondering if you guys can suggest me a nice ROM which is 5.1.1 Lollipop or even better: Marshmallow! The things I would expect are:
-Excellent battery duration (as equal as the actual duration or better!)
-Better speed and performance in multitasking or general usage of apps and services
-IDEAL: The option to have updates to escalate to Android Marshmallow sooner than later
-MANDATORY: No camera, wifi or modem bugs or connetivity problems!!
This is my first Huawei so I'm not familiar with any custom rom for this device out there. I'll really appreciate any recommendation about this. Thanks and have a nice day!

[TIPS] Best custom ROM for P6-U06???

Hi guys,
As I am more and more considering trying and eventually moving to some custom ROM like CM11/Carbon/Omni/Paranoid Andoird I just wanted to ask those of you, which are using these ones or just have been on them:
- Which one is most stable from your opinion
- Which one works smooth and have good battery life
- Which one have most tweaks*
*(in fact I was wondering which of them are having the Active Display and also can they all use CM themes?)
- Are these ROMs infact better than the B708_RePack_BbN for example, that I am using now and is it worth it to go on one of them?*
*(As I am using Angel Kernel and I don't know if it is available for them???)
Thanks!
Common guys, someone must have some experience with that! Please, give some opinions!

Okay, so i've tried Omni, Paranoid, and CM11. None of them have battery life as good as the B708, stock roms in my experience have the best battery life. The compatibility of themes and extras for CM11 is very good, and it is highly customisable due to the theme engine which is brilliant. Out of the three, Omni had the best performance for me. I don't think that any of the custom roms were faster than B708, maybe the menus were slightly faster but apps such as snapchat and facebook both performed just as badly on CM11 as they do on B708.
The custom roms are perfectly usable on a daily basis, remember to check the known bugs sections in the ops to see all of the bugs you might find. I do however think that with B708 huawei have made slight tweaks to performance and battery life that just make it an all together better option for our phone, and i enjoy the way the the EMUI simply fits with the hardware of the phone.
The work that the developers has done is amazing, but i think the best you can get from the very poor KV32 processor that huawei has made comes from B708 at the moment, so i would say stick to stock unless you really hate EMUI. Just my own opinion. Hope this helps

Sadly , NO! I'm using OmniRom for 1 year, it has active display which is amazing, But it has no theme engine. of course you can install xposed modules to theme your device, but they dont do theme your device as well as CM theme engine.
Battery life is not good (mine about 18hrs of usual use without gaming).
i used omni Rom too but i dont know i keep allways coming back to stock roms. I used B511 with some tweaks and root for better optimazing. i had that rom for some time. now am using 708 repacked with KangVIP tools, its really greate. its very good Rom but it's not very good with battery life like B511.
i prefere using stock roms with root and some apps to get better performance.
sorry my english am better Reading than writing.

Try HYD52ROM_V7, I think it's the best rom with battery performance, and it's a good rom. Try it and tell us what you feel.

[Q] Which ROM / Android Experience?

Hi Guys,
I have a T800 on the way (in the U.S.) and am doing my research on the device and OS/ROM options. I am relatively new to android but have a technical background (I'm a developer, and joined the xda forums back in the windows mobile days)
My main question is which ROM I should go with, options seem to include:
- Samsung's 4.4 or 5.0 releases
- Cyanogenmod or BlissPop (i.e. non-touchwiz based ROMs, if I understand correctly?)
- Ironrom or other tweaked touchwiz based ROMs, if I understand correctly
I bought this mainly as a browser / reader device to replace my (jailbroken) iPad 3, which now feels ancient and slow and has a cracked screen. The lack of RAM is pretty annoying. Also very annoyed with the brightness levels when trying to read at night, hence the OLED based tablet. I think I would like a stock android like option, however I am not super familiar with Samsung's custom UI and I would like some opinions at a high level on what the pros and cons would be going for CM vs a tweaked (de-bloated?) samsung experience.
Thanks in advance!

Flashing a tweaked Touchwiz rom gives you some great things that can reduce lag and such. Those roms are for if you want a better rom whilst keeping all the Touchwiz features. Its smooth and such yes.
For CM based roms, those are what get you an stock android feel. But you will lose fingerprint scanner ability and multiwindow and some things that Touchwiz roms has. CM roms are great for the stock android feel, smoothness and has no stuttering, good battery life, customization and less ram load/usage from my experience.
I myself prefer liquid smooth rom since well it is butter smooth! Feels great and does most tasks easy and with no problems.

Honestly I have no problems using the stock rom. Something like ironrom is a good stock option.
However just lately I've taken to running rooted stock and just debloating and removing stuff I don't need and modifying the kernel to my own needs.
Lately a ton of roms have popped up, so there's plenty of choice.
I won't use anything that loses functionality.
Thanks guys - I got my T800 and am just finishing up the stock Lollipop upgrade. Bought a 64GB microsdxc for backups etc., so I will try out common apps for a couple of days and with the feedback above I will probably give a custom ROM or two a go this weekend (after doing my homework/research in advance).

G3 Best ROM for battery life over all versions

hello everyone,
i've replaced my G3 with a S7 Edge and i wanted to give my phone to my daughter who is more willing to have a stable and durable phone than a fast and short life mobile.
so my question is simple, over all the Android ROMS and versions (Kitkat, Lollipop, Marshmallow & Nougat), which one is the best in term of stability & overall battery?
she does not need any rooting or special tweaks.
thanks for your recommendations

Hello,
I would recommend Marshmallow ROMs.
Something like Cyanogenmod 13,Stable,Fast,Easily disabled Root Access(it's disabled by stock).
No bugs and crashes at all. The battery with a lowered brightness(40%),can easily make a day (normal usage example wifi, data, location All ON messaging,(messenger)
And while playing games it can stay 3-4,5 hours and maybe more.
Also with Doze feature, the battery has more durability when the phone isn't being used.
So my opinion is Cyanogenmod 13.(And that's what I'm using right now)
Greetings.
thank you very much! i'll give it a try this evening
If you ever find the cm 13 ROM, let me know. Im looking for it on the d852.
Thanks

Custom Rom Performance

Hey guys.
Just want to know your thoughts about ROM performance in terms of smoothness on different roms.
I was a long time user of tylers RR build and it was really fluid.
Now i am back on Imperium since a month (because of camera) and its overall UI performance is worse that RR.
Can you please give me some thoughts about your experience in UI/ROM peformance on Rom/builds?
thx

Well I'm not surprised you experience worse UI performance on Stock based ROMs, overall in my experience the UI performance in AOSP Custom ROMs is way more fluid and smoother, but the performance in apps is slower than in Stock based ROMs. A bit longer load times, less frame rate's but a more stable frame rate in games and a bit less responsive after a long period of use. For me the camera performance and photo and video quality on Stock based ROMs outweighs AOSP ROMs and that keeps me close to Stock. I have used Dualboot Patcher for a while so I could use AOSP ROMs as my primary ROM and and a Stock based ROM as my secondary ROM so I could still enjoy a fluid and smooth UI and the camera performance of Stock when needed. I really dislike the micro stutters I experience on Stock, especially when I'm scrolling. But I dislike my phone getting slow after a long period of usage even more, which forces me to reboot my phone regularly. So because of that I am running a Stock based ROM as my primary ROM for now.

thx a lot for your feedback!
Thats a good idea with dualboot patcher, but (for me) not really practical
Your experiences coincide with mine!
In my case i also had thermal issues with AOSP roms -> cpu runs hotter quickly than on stock.
Did you also experienced such a behaviour?
Which AOSP rom do you use?
And which do you think has the best (UI) performance?
thx

No problem! :good:
Oh, for me the CPU on AOSP ROMs actually ran a bit cooler and heated up less quickly than on Stock. Although my G4 never really runs that hot even on Stock. And I forgot to mention that I get better battery life both in stand by time and average SOT while running a AOSP based Custom ROM.
At the moment I run a Stock based ROM on my G4 but I have used CyanogenMod till it's end and it's successor Lineage OS which it's pretty much the same but under a new name . I've also tried other ROMs but most of them where based on CM and are based on Lineage OS and they pretty much performed more or less the same. So no big differences.
That's why i do not use any more customs roms...
It's on the decline !
I agree with you !
-camera and video quality lost
-lost performance after a long usage
-lost customer patent and innovation
-lost the pure performance on games
-the modem is not as well as exploited as customers firmwares (sometime bad network quality on customs)
-always minors buggs and sometime big buggs
-near all devellopers wait for Lineage source (Lineage spend 1 year to build an android version and it's never "perfect"....and lots of merges,abandon,clean... on their source all the time,it's never stable and finished)
- on RR,DU...etc....you remove design customizations and you see an empty poor rom
-you loose FM radio function and there never have had effort by the dev for to port an alternative like spirit-fm radio (this dev have had big succes with some very difficult phones ,and som LG)
-you have much more chance than stock to have battery drain with some system process (the main cause of stocks firmwares drain is the google apps ! )
Maybe a custom rom is good for low and some middle-end devices (principaly for to have a light rom.....and hardwares are not the best on these devices ) but completely useless for hight-end device like G4...that's my opinion !
I use a MM firmware + simpleGX 2.0.3 kernel and i'm very happy ! Very good...

Best rom for gaming & speed? and a little question about F2FS

Hey guys!
I was wondering what the best ROM is in terms of gaming performance and overal speed.
I tried resurrection remix, FreedomOS.
Currently I am thinking of testing paranoid android, something about being coded on Snapdragon language coding etc making it faster. (dunno if it's true)
And how much faster is F2FS when it comes to daily use and gaming?
I sincerely hope someone can anwser these questions for me.
I finally got rid of my HTC m7 which i used for 3-4 years & am totally in love with my 3T midnight black edition.
Cheers!

A rom is not really going to make a difference in games. A kernel can, i would stick with stock and maybe try out Xceed since it is an overclocked kernel and gives more peformance.. I wouldn't use F2fs the difference in speed is minimal and the stability is alot more off, not worth the risk I would say.

Paranoid android is good for stability and speed but the current build has an annoying phone idle battery drain bug , the Devs have said an update is coming soon but I'd recommend xXx no limits ROM along with xceed or elementalx kernel...
Only two roms gave me good gaming experiences. Stock rom with EX kernel overclocked and using Mostafa waels Burnout AKT profile.
and other one is Phoenix AOSP rom with renders kernel.
