LETV Le one pro X800 US version porting from Huawei NEXUS 6P & ZTE AXON PRO!!! - LeEco Le1 Pro ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other D

Hi everybody
On the Quallcomm website : https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/devices/all?processor=810
you can find other devices that uses the same 810 chipset as our LETV x800.
I'm not a developer but was wondering if someone can port from Nexus 6P? the specifications are almost identical. Same with ZTE Axon Pro... https://www.zteusa.com/axon
Both phones run MM.
cheers

I think no developer have this phone ?
Sent from my Le 1 Pro using Tapatalk

And One plus 2 has 810 too, but what exactly do you want to port?
For the the US model, we'd need a stock marshmallow rom
For the chinese model, there're already various marshmallow CM builds and derivatives

Which is the best phone for LineageOS 2017?

Nexus is dead, Pixel is nothing (just a Nexus with iPhone price) and Samsung is dead (Exynos/Knox/kernel source), so what is the best phone for LineageOS? I really don't like OnePlus anymore, because for the same price I get a S7 Edge with VR, warrenty and local support (Samsung service point). Car charger for 30 bucks, dash charger, dash cable... f... that!
For now I got a Mi Max Prime (64GB version) and a Mi5s Plus which is just like a 100$ phone compare to firmware support for a highend device (buggy firmware, no real updates, no Xiaomi support (flop)). Don't get me wrong, the hardware is genius (dualsim, 128GB, 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 821, 3800 mAh, QC and for under 400€ with import and shipping) but it feels like the first CM alpha builds from a S3 with Exynos :/
So I need to switch... I looking for a new powerful device with great ROM support, like OnePlus. The battery (SOT) is on the first position, after LineageOS support.
What you think? Switch to the old Nexus 6p, buy a OnePlus 3T (it is the last option for me) or maybe a other phone? A brand new S7 Edge I can get for 400 bucks, a Mi Note 2 for 550 but I really don't care anymore... good battery and official LineageOS is what I need for the future.
I hope you guys can help me.
Regards

right now i'm enjoying my Nexus 6p, but if you want something newer the OP3T is your best shot
That is pretty much how i feel with my old LG g3.
Last I checked the Nexus 7 from 2013 had community support well into 2016. So maybe we should all stop placating Google/Oracle in their resource gluttony & update rampaging....
My 2 cents.
What about the Asus Zenfone 3? So far that's the best hardware I've seen for the lowest price. The software is the only thing I don't like about them so much but so far it beats all the other overpriced iPhone comletitors

If a dev like this phone or using this phone now, he'll build it
Change your mi5s plus for mi5
Xiaomi...cheap and great
I am using redmi 2 for over a year now. Couldn't be happier with it
I already got the Mi5 and it was a beast with MIUI but the Mi5 get real firmware support. In 60 days we get 5 (stable) updates and anything works perfect but 5 inch is to small
Its a pain to unlock bootloader but it works...
When I look at the OnePlus 3T: Unlock bootloader in one min., TWRP already official, Kernel source released, based on Android 7.1 official and ROMs like LineageOS already works perfect, without official build.

I use a note 3 Samsung with lineageOs and it works great! I wouldn't change it (ir, micro sd, battery that you can change, etc.)

Zuk z1 , yureka , and one plus can be preffered as these phone officially ran on cm os ....
ALSO IN zuk z1 rooting and bootloader unlocking is covered under warranty

I think Wileyfox will be a good choice in the near futur. Bootloader unlocking is the easiest I've ever done. They made good price, good quality product, official Cyanogenmod support (but it's over now). They don't make overpriced product like OnePlus or ****ty one like Xiaomi (7 days just to have a code to unlock the bootloader) and Xiaomi have brand new smartphone variant every week. Redmi note, redmi note prime, redmi Pro, redmi note pro.... Hard to follow.
I've bought a wileyfox Swift 2 at 189€ - 30€ = 159€ on the official website after broke my OnePlus 1 screen. I find it's better than my OP1 except for the photography and for the rom support.
I've got before a moto g (peregrine + falcon) ZTE open C, Fx0, oneplus 1, Redmi note 4 sold 2 weeks after receive it. And wileyfox is one one the best quality/price I've ever had just after the Fx0.
not the "best" only "best fit"
Hi,
why not the ZTE Axon 7 (snapdragon 820, >=4Gb RAM; back fingerprint, usb-c + QC, Amoled; good photograph) ?
david
I have now a Xiaomi MI4 but for sure a Zaxon 7 is a good choice
Xiaomi MI5S plus user here. LineAgeOS is working for my phone (unnoficial), but is great!

I sell my mi5s plus, got the mi5s but main phone is the OnePlus 3T and it looks like I will never switch from OnePlus, because easy bootloader unlock and support for custom roms.

Zuk z2 plus!
This phone has a pretty good camera, UIis crap for stock but sexy on custom ROMs
Sent from my ZUK Z2 Plus using XDA Labs
I haven't own or used or even ever seen a Mi 5 Prime.
I have owned / used (rather using) Mi Note 5 Pro, Mi Note 4 and I have seen hands on (friends and family) Mi A1, Mi 4A / 5A and Note 5. I am also using Zuk Z2 Plus.
Now based on this experience and judging from above mentioned Xiaomi devices, I would chose Mi 5 over Z2 Plus. Reasons ?
Better Camera, since Mi 5 seems to be having 16MK with OIS. OIS does make a hell lot of difference.
Certified support for QC 3.0. Though Z2 Plus does support QC but that's via Custom ROM and an uncharted trial and error territory.
MiUi. Personally I hate it, but I can't deny the frequency of update Xiaomi has. Always uptodate security patches plus they update even their 5 year old devices to latest android version, not just security patches !!
Support for Custom ROM. Though both ZUK and Xiaomi are in same place here, for their wide range of custom rom, but combined with above mentioned points, Mi5 would be my choice !!

That's why im looking at the ZUK Z2.

This is a different issue. Your personal issue with Mi 5 Prime which you already have. But as device wise, I would prefer Mi 5 Prime over Z2 Plus as in overall.
MiUi is full of ads, yes some bugs, but at least they are on steroid with their update cycle I see. My note 5 pro isn't yet a week old, got 10GB update lol. Started with 9.5.x, did, 9.5.11/.13/.14/.15 and now doing 9.2.6. Compare that to Z2 Plus, released with Android 6.0, got one update to nougat, ZUI 2.5 and there it stopped. No patch, no nothing.
If we compare bugs, MiUi is no where close to what ZUI 2.5 had for us.

System-based differences between Redmi Note 5 Pro with Redmi Note 5 AI-dual-camera?

I'm planning on getting a Redmi Note 5 since my old iPhone kept stealing my money due to broken parts and I'm on a tight budget.
The thing is, I don't like MIUI (or any OEM-modified firmware, honestly). So once I get the phone, unlocking bootloader and installing a LOS or RR rom is my very first thing to do, along with some audio mods like V4A or the newly ported Xperia XZ2 sound system.
And since this sub-forum title is REDMI NOTE 5 PRO, but every Redmi Note 5 availablein my country is NOT the "Pro" variant (it only have 13mp front cam unlike the 20mp on the pro), can I use any custom roms or mods on this subforum to a non-pro redmi note 5 device?
Thanks
Yep you can
Short answer yes.
The pro and the Ai are the same the Ai is for the Chinese market just with different carrier frequencies. If your one got the Snapdragon 636 you are right here as in some countries it's just called Redmi Note 5 /global.
Front camera:
China/Global: OmniVision OV13855 13 MP 1.0 μm
India: Sony Exmor RS IMX376 20 MP (f/2.2, 1/2.8", 1.0 μm),
thank you so much for the answers, cheers!
I'm looking to buy a whyred too (upgrading from vince). Does it matter if i get the 6gb or 4gb variant? I mean, from my logic, it shouldn't matter since that is hardware that has nothing to do with custom roms but still.. Can i still get all the custom roms available if i get the 6gb variant one? Or is its hardware different pertaining custom roms?

You'll still be able to flash any custom roms for whyred if you opt for 6gb ram variant.

Development potential oft redmi note 8 / redmi note 8 pro

Hi everybody,
I am considering to buy this phone, (rmn8 pro), however it ships with the mediatek G90T processor. in the past my understanding was that ROM development for mediatek based phones is troublesome due to missing sources. Can anyone confirm this issue for me?
Would it therefore be better to buy the non pro version of rthe rmn8 shipping with an snapdragon 655 processor?
Yeah I'd like to know it too.
OK - so it seems that if we want custom ROMs we should go with the non pro version.
Based on xiaomis history and the development activity for the redmi note 3 snapdragon and redmi note 3 mediathek there is a considerable difference.
Furthermore it appears that it took 3 years for xiaomi to release the kernel source for the rmn 3 and the rmn 2 mediatek version. In general it appears that the source release is up to the OEMS - e.g. Xiaomi. Mediathek is known to only distribute the source to customers or people who are willong to pay.
This is kind of disappointing as the pro version of the rmn8 is quite a bit better.
Any other opinions ?
I want the pro version but mtk processor no way ill be buying as I want gcam and custom roms.
I would suggest you to wait for the Global launch because Xiaomi might launch RN8Pro with Snapdragon soc..

That could be the case, but I guess it won't happen as they try to create some hype around the new helio chips.
If Xiaomi released source code for kernel, there is chance for start develop custom ROMs and kernels, but SoC from Qualcomm Snapdragon still more universal. I think MediaTek will get custom ROMs/kernels but Gcam will be more problematic. In my opinion XDA members should try create better support for MediaTek SoC. Why ? MediaTek Helio G90T it's seriously impressive SoC with some more performance than SD730G.
The phone is very, very good

The problem is that MTK doesn't fully release the sources of their SoC's that's why it has low development here in XDA.

Exactly my thoughts.... Redmi Note 7 pro has lot of developments going on and it is better than Redmi Note 8.
Redmi note 8 has Samsung sensor which does not have much gcam support.
Redmi note 7 pro has Sony sensor which works flawlessly with gcam.

Well about development, sure note 7 Pro may have better Dev support coz it's an older device but as far as gcam support is concerned, you may be wrong, I'm using note 8 and it's working flawless. At least it's giving much better camera results when compared to poco

gcam for mediatek device

hello everyone. this might be more of a "gcam" question than a "note 8 pro" question. ive noticed redmi note 8 pro has had gcam support for quite some time now, and it has a mediatek proc. so my question is.. is the gcam for RN8P only for RN8P? or can it also be compatible with other mediatek devices? i cannot test this myself since i do not have a mediatek device at all and my Redmi Note 9 (which has a mediatrk g85, no xda forum yet for this device) is still on the way, so i would like to know in advance to lower my expectations if ever it isn't compatible  thanks in advance
