No signal when use 4G network for a period of time - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just changed my SIM Card from a 3G SIM to a 4G SIM recently. However I met an issue, whenever I use the 4G Mobile Network for too long (like 1-2 hours), the phone will suddenly lost all signal for 5-10 minute before recovering the signal. The signal bar is empty, and it appears the "Emergency Call Only" stuff. Is it just me or everyone is encountering this problem?
I have no problem at all when restrict the phone to connect 3G/H+ network only, it only occurs when I connect to the 4G network for a period of time.
My friend that uses the same telco with me doesn't have such problem (disconnecting/no signal at all) when connecting to 4G network, and it doesn't seems to be the antenna problem since the problem does not happen when I connect to 3G/H+ networks.
What might likely be the cause? Is there any solution to this?
Sorry for bad English, not my native language
(I live in Malaysia, and using UMobile Telco. )

Now that you mention it, I have pretty much the same issue of losing signals, and the problem hasn't occurred ever since I stopped using 4g. I didn't notice it was because of that, because I changed the phone too while changing the sim. I have marshmallow by the way. Don't know if that might be linked to the problem.

No network when network is "G"

Hi guys!
I have a strange problem with my One X. When my network is on 3G/HSDPA i have perfect internet. But when i'm at school, i have only G network. The problem is, when i'm on G network (full signal bars) i have no internet acces, no google talk acces, nothing!. As soon as my network jumps to 3G/HSDPA i have network access again!
I don't know what the problem is. But i guess you people can help me out!
Thank you very much!
Edit: I also tried to reboot, airplane mode, mobile data on/off. No go!
could be just because gprs is so slow and sucks so bad, that everything is just timing out?
try forcing the phone to use wcdma only when you're at school, then it might have just one bar signal, but that'll still be better than gprs.
i have to do that at work to be able to stream videos in the car park lol. otherwise it simply doesn't work.
Haha allright! Nsh it worked yesterday lol. Maybe something to do with sim card?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
could be a network outage possibly (i work for a comms company, and we get notifications for o2, used to get orange and vodafone notifications as well for when the networks go down, or having maintenance, and they do have lots of problems)
could just be they're either doing maintenance or the local mast is having a problem with 2g.
if it worked fine before, i'd try calling the network provider first and reporting the issue, they may well advise new sim, but i doubt its the sim if the 3g is working and 2g isn't, sounds like a network issue.
I take it you've tried rebooting your phone?

Three Signal Issue

I know this has been raised several times, The issue i currently have is i no0longer have GPRS/Edge. When i select *#*#4636*#*# then click on GSM Only, it gives me the GPRS/Edge signal but no internet connection.
Anyone know the reason why? I have had it previously, but week or so ago when i changed it, it never came back.
HSPA/3G works without a problem. (When i have the signal)
As far as I know Three doesn't have a 2G network at all (at least in the UK).
I have problems with my Three Sim in some places where I don't get any signal because of that.
2G (GPRS/Edge) signal on Three is only available through roaming on Orange. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I have experienced.
Using Orange 2g network if i remember correctly , i set mine to wcdma only so i dont get any issues.
I remember on three back in 2008 the 2g speed was shockingly slow , even back then on old mobile tinterweb sites.
I will give that setting ago, see what happens, cheers mate.
But now 3 is no long working with orange. So now they don't have 2G signal, either 3g or nothing

Text/call problems on 3g only

Hi,
Does anyone have any ideas on a specific problem I have with the One X (on t-mobile - sim only contract in UK)
Had the phone since it first came out and the last 6 weeks I've been unable to send or receive texts while the phone is in 3g (wcdma mode or wcdma/gsm auto). The only way I can receive/send texts and calls is in gsm mode. I've been on the phone with T-Mobile for over an hour making sure my service centre number and network operator is correct and I have no signal issues (mostly full signal).
I've tried turning the wi-fi off to see if that's an issue but it makes no difference. What's weird is that in 3g (wcdma) mode I have no problems with data, so I can use the internet/facebook/twitter apps and upload/download pics and files just fine.
The engineer at T-Mobile (android dept) told me there's a 3g and 2g antenna in the phone and the 3g antenna may be faulty. Sounds plausible but wouldn't that mean no data connection on 3g too? I've also been told to check my micro sim in another phone, which I'll do when a friend comes round (I don't have any other phone that uses micro sims).
I just thought I'd check in here to see if this is a known issue. I've googled and nothing's turned up with this particular problem. Normally it isn't an issue as I use wi-fi for data so just keep the phone in gsm mode. However, when I'm out I swap to 3g sometimes and forget to swap back. I had two days worth of missed calls and texts when I forgot to switch back this weekend
In summary:
gsm mode = texts, calls and internet all working fine (though slow data connection, obviously)
wcdma = no texts or calls but internet fast and working fine.
Any ideas, help or advice would be appreciated. I don't want T-Mobile saying it's a phone problem and HTC telling me it's the network's problem.
The same problem here using a WWE model (no carrier) in Vivo Mobile (Brasil).
No solution until know...

the problem of the reach of 3G,WCDMA,GSM ok

For me, a similar problem
Setting the network mode to auto or just wdcma makes the phone unusable.
Although the extent of the phone grabs. Nay, sometimes even 5 bars but the state does not tra large than 5 (sometimes 10) minutes and reach lost. Often with good coverage, I can not make calls and the internet does not work. Redials the phone ends in the subscriber information out of reach (the phone shows that he has range)
Switching the phone on GSM ONLY mode causes that everything starts to work as it should (only the net so slow)
The problem started a week ago
The problem occurs in various parts of the city, regardless of whether I use the transmitter Play network or roaming.
Factory reset did not help. I suspect the SIM card but the more I'm bending your point defect (eg antenna) since the last few months everything worked
EDIT:
1h watched by telephone yesterday, and what I noticed.
The problem is when a weak signal mode UMTS.
The signal strength of -90,-95dBm causes the phone to have problems. If the signal is below-100dBm the phone is able to maintain a dial-up connection to the Internet are no longer problems. Often there are also decreases above 100dBm signal which usually end up losing the connection of both GSM as well as internet and phone needs a few dozen seconds to reconnect.
If you set the mode to GSM only signal strength is-55dBm and the problems do not occur.

it's your network providers problem not our's. you can obviously not get 3G all around your city

strange network problem

I receiven a m919 with strange network behaviour
I used a profesional tool : Octopus Box Samsung to repair EFS and NVM Area, I unlocked again and phone started to work decently (not as expected) after 1 or 2 days the phone came back as in the initial day.
To explin better:
it always says searching, but it do shows 3 or 4 signal bars, if you find network manually it finds the network but if you try to register it give error registering on network.
I dont know what else to try
when I repaired everything with the tool it started to work well, but indoors it had no network or dropped calls, usssd codes failing, etc.
outdoor it worked fine but as I said only 2 days.
in my counry there is only one network and it's 2G/edge not 3g or 4g here.
is there any trick to make these phones'modem work only at 2G mode and never try to find/connect/switch to 3g/4g/lte. etc? maybe this could make phones work nicely on 2g networks?
I have noticed most 4G/lte phones has poor signal reception here in my country.
