Fail Bluetooth pairing with Nexus 4 after 1.5 (MDW69) Update - Huawei Watch

Hi,
as i wrote here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67552393&postcount=71
after the 1.5 update, my huawei watch doesn't pair with my Nexus 4 anymore.
With a downgrade to 1.4 it works but after some hours it update to 1.5 again.
So i think that 1.5 introduced a bug with bluetooth pairing.
Other xda users in the link above had the same issue with the same phone.
Same result in the Official Android Wear forum: http://bit.ly/AndroidWearBTIssue
My watch, after 1 month, is still at the Service Center.
Today i tried a massive campaign on my social media to obtain a reply from Huawei.
If anyone want to help me with like and share, here are the link. I'll post everyday the same image on every social.

same issues... nexus 4 android 6.0.1, downgrade 1.4 ignore update.. wait for fix or wait for 2.0

Just a guess, but I wonder if the update might have introduced a new Bluetooth stack that isn't compatible with the Bluetooth stack in your older phone?!?

i don't know what 1.5 introduced.... but i think that buy a new phone isn't a solution and it isn't my fault if Google or Huawei make a mistake in developing the 1.5.
I spent 300€ for this watch and i want to be able to use it with my phone because it worked before 1.5.

What does Huawei support have to say?

On Phone assistance: they said to ask to LG (if is a nexus 4 fault) and then call again to open a ticket.
on Facebook Page: they said stupid things like update my phone up to android 4.3 or update the app. Stupid things from Social Media Manager without technical preparation.
On Twitter: Nothing
Italian Service Center: I brought the watch one month ago and described the software problem. They sent it to Huawei. But I haven't news about the status of my watch.
EDIT for Who have this watch and Nexus 4
i don't have my watch now, but if someone has it (and has a nexus 4), please produce (during the Pairing error) and send to google a debug report (report of the phone and report of the watch).
here the address: [email protected]
here how to produce it:
VERY IMPORTANT (PLEASE READ)
Please follow up all this instructions, we need both bug reports from the phone side AND computer.
Without it we can't solve this issue.
Before you get started, make sure you have access to a computer.
1) Instructions: Android Wear devices connected to Android devices
Say "OK Google” or tap the background to bring up the cue card.
Scroll to the bottom of the cue card list and tap "Take bug report". If this option is not available, tap "Settings", then tap "About", then tap 7 times on the Build Number. Once developer mode is enabled, open the cue card again and tap "Take bug report".
If bug reports do not show up on cue card after enabling developer mode: Go into developer options and enable bug report in menu & restart
You should feel a confirmation vibration from your watch. If you look at the card stream on the watch you will see a card with the text "Bug report Collecting data...".
Once the bug report is done, you’ll feel two short vibrations and see a card with the message "Bug report captured. Swipe left to share your bug". After you swipe left, tap Open on the next screen.
Return to your phone or tablet and open the notification shade. You will see an entry that reads "Wearable bug report finished. Touch to send." Touch this entry and email the bug report file to yourself so that you can access it on your computer.
On your computer, access your email and open the message you just sent to yourself.
Download the bugreport.txt attachment.
Reply to this message and attach the bug report file.
Note - you can also initiate the bug report from the Android Wear Companion App on your phone or tablet: In the app, open the menu in the top right corner of the app and tap “Report Wearable Bug”.
Instructions: Android Wear devices connected to iOS devices
After the bug report is taken and is transferred to your phone, on your phone you will see a notification “Transferring bug report. Please wait.”
When the bug report is transferred from your watch to your phone, you will see a new notification on your phone: “Bug report ready. Swipe to send.” Touch or swipe this notification.
This will open up a feedback form in the Android Wear app. Write a description of the problem you experienced in the field, and send the report.
2) Instructions: Companion phone or tablets
On your device, go to Settings > About phone or About tablet.
At the bottom of the screen, touch 'Build number' seven times in quick succession. You’ll see a message saying you’re now in developer mode.
Press Back to go back to the main Settings screen.
Touch Developer options.
At the top of the screen, make sure 'Developer options' is set to ON.
Check the box next to USB debugging.
Check the box next to Bug report shortcut.
Reproduce the issue or error message on your phone or tablet. It’s important that your device logs at least one occurrence of the problem.
Immediately after seeing the issue, press and hold the power button until the power menu appears.
Select Take bug report, then select Report in the dialog that follows.
After a significant delay -- up to two minutes -- your phone or tablet will vibrate and display a notification saying ‘Bug report captured’. Touch the notification to open Gmail with the report attached.
Email the message to yourself so you can access it on your computer.
On your computer, access your email and open the message you just sent to yourself.
Download the bugreport.txt attachment.
Reply to this message and attach the bug report file.
After replying to this message, you can disable developer mode and bug reports by going to Settings > Developer Options and sliding the top toggle to OFF.
3) Instructions: If you are unable to send us bug reports, please check ADB instructions
To collect watch bug reports from your watch when you are not paired with your phone you can use the ADB process if: a) your watch has a pin-based cradle or has a micro-USB slot, and b) the Android Wear version currently running is 5.1.1 or above (Go to Settings > About). To collect a bugreport follow the following steps
On the Android Wear device, Go to Settings > About > Tap on build 7 times. This will enable developer’s mode.
Swipe to the right to go back to the settings menu
Go to developers settings
Switch “Enable adb debugging” to on.
Connect your watch to your computer by plugging the USB cable directly or via the pin-based cradle provided by your watch’s manufacturer.
Your watch will prompt you to allow debugging.
For Windows, it is necessary to install the appropriate driver for adb to function - please see this webpage (http://developer.android.com/tools/extras/oem-usb.html) and follow the appropriate instruction for your version of windows.
On your computer, open Terminal (for iOS) and Cmd (for Windows). Run "adb bugreport > path_to_output_file" from the command line.
Once a bug report is generated, please attach the output file to this email.

How can I prevent Skype from autostarting?

Whenever I start my SGS2 Skype starts with it. On top of that it always starts in Online mode, regardless of what my previous mode was (Busy, Invisible).
I've only had this happen on this phone, not other Android devices. Any idea how to stop Skype starting at book, and if anyone knows how to make it default to the last status?
Much appreciated!
Search for the "autostart" app in the market. Its symbol is a car. You need root too. Hope this help.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
to stop Skype from starting when the phone boots up..
sign into skype...go to My Info TAB..
press menu button- click settings... then uncheck the start up automatically box..
in order to keep the previous status...you need to uncheck sign in automatically box..
the downside is you have to enter the login password next time you sign in...
its the limitation of the app..hopefully gets an update to fix it...
edit : i noticed that when sign in automatically box is checked...the status takes 2-3 secs to change to online... if you are quick enough..you can quickly go to My info and change to appropriate status
Great replies, thanks! The autostart manager will come in useful (though I can't find one with the symbol of a car) and I've disabled Skype autostart as per instructions.
The status limitation I can live with for now, my primary concern was that Skype autostarted in Online mode on each boot leading to a flurry of untimely messages. When I start it intentionally changing the status is only a minor inconvenience.

facebook for android app | push notifications "fixed"

Hi all,
Sorry if this is old news - but its new to me!
Whilst doing some random googling i stumbled accross another forum where a chap had posted a "fix" he had found regarding the lack of push facebook notifications with the official face book app.
Up untill now it has been the one feature for me that has really let android and my phone down.
I am not sure of the rules on posting link to other forums so I will not do that, though I will run throught the basics below.
This worked for me as well as many others on the other forum. Notifications are instant and I have the polling set to never in the FB app.
You need either a blackberry phone, or to download a blackberry phone simulator to make this work.
1) log out of the FB app on your phone
2)from home screen goto settings, applications, manage applications, facebook and clear data and cache
3)log into your facebook account on a blackberry phone and enable notifications on it. Then log out
4) log into facebook on your PC, goto Account settings (click on down arrow next to "home")
5) click on "notifications on the left hand side"
6) scroll down towards bottom of page and click on "other applications" - click on this, you should now have "facebook for blackberry smart phones" - make sure there is a toick next to this
7) log back into the FB app on your galaxy
8) go into setup, uncheck notifications, then recheck notifications
9) set refresh interval to never
10) that should be it
This honestly works 100% for me and other on the other forum. The notifications are instant and it even shows different icon in your notification bar for different types of post (ie wall post or message)
I am running CM7.1 and FB 1.7.2
This seems to work on a wide range of handsets/android platforms.
I dont know how this works. One suggestion is the permission/software the blackberry enables on the FB server is generic for mobile devices and that it is somehow "mising" from the FB app,
All i know is it works for me,
I take no credit or responsibility for this,
I hope this helps somepeople out as it was driving me nuts!
again my thanks to the original poster on the other forum
regards,
anthony
off topic but, i never installed the app because it requires practically every permission in existence, really don't trust it, knowing facebook's privacy issues
fair enough,
but the one thing that has always ruined its usability is the lack (or poor at best) notifications.
untill now anyway (for me at least)
regards
This worked for me for a while. However, I've stopped getting notifications again
forget the original facebook app, use friendcaster

Did it stop working after an update for FB?
Try this login to your FB account and go to "Account Settings". On the left hand side click "Notifications". Scroll down and you should see one near the bottom that says, "Other Applications". Click that and in there you should see "Facebook for BlackBerry® smartphones" If there is a check mark in the box, then un-check and hit save. Then re-check the box and hit save again. You're done and the notifications will start working again. If there is no check mark then add it and click save. Viola FB notifications should be working again.

Gmail, Calendar and Contacts

So I bought my wife a used but very new Kindle Fire 2. Took it home, setup her email app to connect to gmail. All worked well until I realized that the previous owner didn't do a proper factory reset of the device. Still had enough of his stuff to where I could have really screwed him. I didn't. Anyway, I didn't want to have to mess around with manually removing his stuff. So I did a factory reset. The correct way. All his stuff was gone. Went to re-setup email and got the error message that I didn't have permission to sync with that server. I guess it has to do with changes google made to how devices connect to them via a non-google app. They are not allowing new connections and since I hard rest the Kindle, google looked at it as a new connection. After a lot of searching and messing around, I found one solution that allowed me to seup the email, but no calendar and contact syncing. I then happened across the below website that gave me the solution that finally fixed the problem. Email, Calendars and contacts all sync. I hope this helps others not spend the amount of time I did to find the solution. Below is the solution. I cannot post the link but it was found at kindle-fireforum dot com - You just need to fix the url in step three. Being a junior member I had to put it like that so I could post it. I'm sure you'll figure it out.
I had this problem setting up gmail account on new Kindle.
Here is what Kindle support gave me. Worked fine.
Connect to a Wi-Fi network.
2. On the Home screen, swipe down from the top and select More. Tap Device. Tap ON to turn on Allow Installation of Applications from unknown sources. Tap OK on the warning dialog box that pops up. Don’t worry! You will turn off this feature once update is completed.
3. On the Home screen, tap Web. Enter url address
(just add http :// here)bit.ly/0018580031
and select Go. When you open the web url link in the Silk Web browser, the update downloads automatically.
4. Swipe down from the top of the screen to see the notification bar. You should be able to see the update downloading. Once it completes, tap Email.Apk. Tap OK on the “Replace application” dialog box that follows.
5. Tap Install on bottom right on the “Do you want to install this application?” screen, update will then download. Tap Done after application installed.
6. On the Home screen, swipe down from the top and select More. Tap Applications. Tap Installed Applications. Tap Email. Verify version number is 1.04_104003110.
7. On the Home screen, swipe down from the top and select More. Tap Device. Tap OFF to turn off Allow Installation of Applications from unknown sources.
8. On the Home screen, tap Apps. Tap Device. Tap Email. Select Gmail from the list of account, and then enter the requested information. With the email app update you should not have to edit any server information.

NfcTagRelay - Automate your life by scanning tags with your Sony SW3

NFC Tags are awesome for automating stuff. Want easy to activate sleep tracking? Just set up a tag near your bed. Want easy to activate car mode? Set up a tag somewhere in your car. But they have one big flaw: to use them, you must take your big ass phone out of your pocket.
(In above example, I activate sleep tracking, disable always-on mode and enable theater mode by just touching the tag. Always-on mode is then automagically re-enabled in the morning when sleep tracking stops.)
NfcTagRelay is simple and light tool that reads tags using your smartwatch and then relays the tag detection event to the phone, so it can be acted upon using various automation apps such as Tasker.
How it works
Every NFC tag has unique ID that can be used to identify it. That ID is broadcasted via Intent to all apps on the phone whenever tag is scanned. It is broadcasted via two different intents:
Intent 1
Action: com.matejdro.weartagrelay.RECEIVED_TAG
Extras:
tagid = <ID of the tag>
Intent 2
Action: com.matejdro.weartagrelay.TAG_<ID of the tag>
(This second one is more useful for apps that cannot filter Intents by extras such as Tasker).
Tasker example
Here is my example on how I'm receiving tags via Tasker. As mentioned above, app sends events via Intents. That is why we will be using System -> Intent Received Tasker event.
1. ID Receiving Context
First we have to figure out what is the ID of the tag that we are scanning. For that we can use com.matejdro.weartagrelay.RECEIVED_TAG which also broadcasts tag ID.
Create new context with System -> Send Intent event
Under intent action enter com.matejdro.weartagrelay.RECEIVED_TAG (See attached picture 1.)
In task that is triggered by this, copy contents of the %tagid variable to the clipboard. For convenience, you can also copy it along the rest of the second intent (see attached picture 2).
After you get the tag ID, you can delete that context or just disable it to add more tags later. It is triggered when you scan any tag so you likely won't need it.
2. TAG Context
Now that we have the ID, we can create context that will be activated whenever tag with that ID is scanned. For that we will use com.matejdro.weartagrelay.TAG_<ID> intent.
Create new context with System -> Send Intent event
Under intent action enter com.matejdro.weartagrelay.TAG_<ID>, where you replace "<ID>" with the actual ID of the tag (See attached picture 3.)
In task that is triggered by this, add whatever you want. This task will be triggered every time you scan tag with specified ID.
Installation
Install Sony SmartWatch 3 NFC Support Package. Without that, NFC will not work at all on your watch.
Install included APK to your phone
After some time (usually up to a minute), app will be automatically installed to the watch (you will get notification). After that you may also need to grant the app NFC permissions (it will ask on the watch). Make sure you do, otherwise it won't work.
Huge thanks to user ebones. Without him, this would not be possible.
Hi, all installed and appears to be working. Although I didn't get any notifications to grant NFC permissions etc. Can you also please confirm the name of the app once installed on the watch?
Thanks
I think it only asks for permission if you are running Marshmallow on the phone.
Has anyone managed to get an NFC tag (or reader for that matter) to relay to another app? I know this app does work with tasked, but it would be great if there were a way to relay to a chosen app. E.g. HID Mobile Access.
And does this app allow two way communication?
no app?
i dont get a notification about the app being installed on my smartwatch. what should i do?
Does it appear under all apps?

I've installed NCF support package and app. Can I scan NFC Pass-card to this watch and use only watch to pass against card?
No, this is only for detecting NFC tags and perform various actions when detected.
Hi,
please, tell me your full setup (device, ROM, etc.).
After days of trying to get it to work I'm really frustrated and have no idea what to do.
My device is a Samsung Note 3 and I tried it with Kitkat 4.4 (Sweet ROM), Lollipop 5.1 (Dark Wolf), Android 7 (Resurrection) and several versions of the wear app. But nothing workes.
Smartwatch 3 Setup: TWRP, LCA43 (Android 5.1.1, built-in Wear App Version 1.3.x), NFC Support Package, Wear-SuperSU
Smartwatch 3 Working: for each new pairing with the different Smartphone OS's the watch had to be resetted and after that I installed "Wear Mini Launcher" and "NfcTagRelay" (as well as I did the steps mentioned in several descriptions e.g. enable dev & usb debugging), the NfcTagRelay installed successfully and gave the option to enable/disable NFC
Note 3: within each new OS I installed the appropiate gapps and apk's ("Wear App" v1.3.x, "Wear Mini Launcher" and "NfcTagRelay"), installation with other versions of the wear app on the phone didn't work, as expected
Note 3 Setup with Kitkat 4.4.2: Wear App works fine, connection is always enabled, Mini Launcher works great too. But that didn't work for the nfc purpose. The watch seems not to scan any tag (no vibration notification at the watch, no reaction on the phone)
Note 3 Setup with Lollipop 5.1 (Dark Wolf): Wear App does not find the watch (as far as I remember, have to test this another time, coming soon...)
Note 3 Setup with Android 7.1.1 (Ressurection Remix): after succesful pairing with the Wear App it seems to loose an active connection and on several actions in the app a message pops up that their is no connection, Smartwatch reacts on nfc scan with vibration, no reaction on the phone

Gmail push notification does'nt work- somone secceeded to fix it?

Hi
i have xiaomi mi5s (miui global 8.0.3.0 stable) and i dont get push notification form the gmail app.
i try all the instructors that i found at the internet and nothings fix it, is there somone that know haw to fix it?
i try this steps:
1: Go to settings --> manage apps' battery usage --> choose apps. From there, pick all the apps you want to receive push notifications and select "No restrictions."
2: Go to settings --> permissions --> autostart. From there, pick the apps you want to receive notifications, and toggle the switch to turn it on.
3: Go to settings --> app notifications --> pick the apps you want to receive notifications, then turn the toggle for "Priority" on.
4: Lock the app in the "recent apps"/ "app overview" plane. Do so by first opening the apps, then press the "recent apps/overview button" (that's the square button on stock Android, or the button with three horizontal lines on the Mi Mix). From there, find the app you want to receive notifications, pull down on it to "lock it", so it never gets cleared.
5: This last step requires Developer Options privileges. To enable that, go to settings (man... I'm getting tired of typing "go to settings" ...) --> about phone
--> tap on MIUI version tab like eight times. You should then get a little message saying "you are now a developer." Then head back out to settings, go to developer option, scroll to nearly the bottom, find "memory optimization," and turn it off.
Mine does the same sometimes it's intermittent.
Things like this is why I never use Miui, its a horribly crippled version of Android that just makes life more difficult unnessesarily if you live in a country that allows free access to a service called Google
Never own a Xiaomi phone without removing Miui and replacing with a ROM that works in the real world
i wtire this comment for who will need this solution.
i secceeded to fix the push notification problem by the following
1:I changedmy rom to original miui rom (mine was fake) now i have 8.0.3.0 global
2: go to setting -> sync -> and disabled "wifi only" and enable "sync"
3: Go to settings --> permissions --> autostart. From there, pick the apps you want to receive notifications, and toggle the switch to turn it on.
4: Go to settings --> manage apps' battery usage --> choose apps. From there, pick all the apps you want to receive push notifications and select "No restrictions."
hope it will help..
Also have a look here for some more context: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5s/how-to/miui-kills-background-processes-solution-t3532397
The guys above me pretty much summed it up - setup autostart for the Gmail app and Google service frameworks, disable MIUI memory optimization and lock the Gmail app (menu button --> slide the app thumbnail down and click the lock icon).
Having done all of this, the push notifications are fine. I use the EU rom 7.3.30 (weekly).
Hi,
I have a brand new Mi 6 which im loving (running the standard default theme), however i have a bit of a problem with Gmail.
Im getting all the notifications, no problem at all. However, the floating notifications do not show a preview of the email i have received for Gmail. I get a floating popup, but all it shows is that i have a new email, it does not show who sent the email or the subject line, nothing.
All my other floating notifications are fine. Whatsapp, outlook, facebook etc, all of them show the floating notification with a small preview of what the message is.
Anyone else experiencing this? any ideas?
I have ALL settings correctly set to receive all the notifications, floating, etc and as i said, i DO receive notifications, they just dont show a preview specifically for Gmail. Im using latest Global Rom by the way.
