Not sure why this is in Verizon but which model are you using? The international unlocked GSM or a foreign carrier?

The international unlocked GSM
n930FD

Whose your carrier? I know for example with AT&T my brother had crappy signal until he called and had LTE provisioned.

Verizon is CDMA so the amount of info here might be limited.

[Q] Note 2 - 5 Models already !!

So Galaxy Note 2 has now got 5 models to be released shortly, here is the breakdown
International : GT-N7100
Verizon : SCH-I605
TMob : SGH-T889
Sprint : SPH-L900
AT&T : SGH-I317
Thanks to Evan
AT&T : 850 cellular/1900 PCS GSM/UMTS & 700MHz (Band class 17) LTE
Verizon : 850 cellular/1900 PCS CDMA/EVDO & 700MHz (Band class 13) LTE
Sprint : 800 SMR/1900 PCS CDMA/EVDO & 1900MHz LTE
T-Mob : 1900 PCS GSM/UMTS & 1700/2100 (AWS) UMTS
Seems like they will all have Quad Core Exynos with a seperate LTE chip
My question is does that mean we will be having five different model forums, or is it possible to have only the current one for all the models, since they are pretty much the same Exynos + LTE.
I hope not......i hope they each have their own

Interesting question.. I think that as far as you dont flash a different radio(assuming that the main difference its the band) you would be good to go.. an example of this happens on the Gtab 7+ variants.. mine its 6800n(different band for south america) and i can flash any rom from the other variants 6800/6800h no problem.. just keep my radio..
There is two international versions:
N7100: 3G only
N7105: LTE
And yes they will most likely get the same forum with seperate development sub-forums.
One thing I wonder about, here in Sweden the LTE frequencies is 800/900/2600 MHz.
It means that when we get LTE it will be different from the international version and developer support will be non-existent or can we flash international roms if the only difference is LTE frequencies?

Each carrier wants to have complete control on what is in the phone and what they want to cripple. I'm heavily considering the International version this time but will wait for all the details to come first.

I think he was being sarcastic
Also, UK has just released LTE on 1800mhz band, any idea if Note 2 will support it?
(it would be really really stupid from Samsung, if they didnt, but it's still a possibility)

carriers use different frequencies and network technologies (CDMA or GSM)
I hope they do have a separate one, as they did with the Galaxy S3...it was really confusing at times.

Soooo, its (worldwide) just Verizon & Sprint (or let´s say it´s JUST sprint) that causes this fragmentation?
i have never bought an international version either but if it comes out sooner i will since i would like to travel a lot...
will the international version for any reason not be as good as the eventual verizon version for me in regards to anything....4g speed, roming, etc...
thx!
No need for me.to get the international versions anymore I guess, since the processors are the same.

No, there is also fragmentation between AT&T and T-mobile versions. They use different frequencies for 3G (HSPA+) so an AT&T phone will not work on T-mobile and vice versa. You'd need a pentaband phone (e.g. Galaxy Nexus) to cover AT&T, T-mobile, and international gsm networks.

[Q] CPU question

Hello, I just bought a Tab S 10.5 LTE version. I found out only now that the CPU varies between models, so now I wonder, will mine come with a Snapdragon or an Exynos?
It wasn't written on the description.
Use an app called cpuz to find out what chipset you have and everything about your device.
Yeah I will. But the thing is it will arrive in 3-4 days so the doubt is strong
I was just wondering whether 100% of LTE versions have the snapdragon.

If you bought LTE version, it will be snapdragon 100%. Exynos doesnt have LTE support.
Snapdragons is exclusive to u.s carriers

wrong, here in Sweden both WiFi and LTE uses Exynos 5420, with LTE support thanks to the Intel LTE chip.

All right thanks. That's a bummer :|
From what I've read the CDMA US carriers (vzw + Sprint) have snapdragons, the others have exynos.

That depends entirely on which carrier you are with. I'd expect them to have identical strength on supported bands.
4G LTE signal?
Exynos Version: Is anyone using this phone for MetroPCS? I have tried several different APN settings for an LTE signal and not capable of receiving one... Only 4G icon is displayed at all times. Is anyone having this issue in the US?

This has been discussed times and times again... 4G icon on non-US phones means LTE. you are getting LTE speeds buddy. go to network status to check what network you're connected to this will confirm LTE assuming you have the correct APN settings.

Actual practical differences for Verizon S9/Note 9 Exynos variant (vs Snapdragon)?

If you have Verizon and you get an Exynos international model in the USA, what would be the practical difference or issues you may experience?
Of course, the reason to get Exynos is for the unlocked bootloader.
Supposedly Exynos won't support any CDMA bands, so you'll only have service under LTE. However, looking at the 4G map for Verizon it's a solid color, so shouldn't this mean you shouldn't really have any loss of reception since you can just stay using LTE always?
How about internet speeds? Would there be any difference?
Are there any other practical differences?

What variant?

What variant should you buy if you want to root with att and has the Snapdragon processor? Bands would also have to work for signal

Anyone? Is it the f or the DS variant? Or maybe b?
I'm not positive but usually you need Exynos processor to root. That means you'll be the UK or International variant which is usually the F.
It's very unlikely there will be root for the Snapdragon processor if it's carrier unlocked, much less likely if it is at&t flavored. Those were the good old days.
I was planing on getting the note 10 5g before this phone and the "better" one was the China version... They had snapdragon devices rooted in those threads
