AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

Good Job Taker18
But i think you do too many rom for too many device at the same time.
Don't mistake my words, i'm happy to have a lot of choice, but can you really make support for all of this.
Again, Really good job.

Thank you for your time and effort!!!
I try to ask, but it's just a desire that I have from day one with G4..
Is it possible to build Pure Nexus for G4?
I love that ROM and it will be a dream come true if someone could port it on G4..
Sorry if I ask too much, I'm just trying!
Thank you again for your work!

Taker thanks for the rom Besides i have a question..it would be really nice to create pure AOSP rom like cile did.

Downloading the latest update!! I have seen the SS now. Let's test this baby!
Great ROM! Thanks.
I've tried almost every GEE ROM and most have their issues but LEGO has been pretty stable.
Here are some of the persistent issues that I've experienced with other GEE ROMs (even some official LS970 builds):
Data: no LTE just 3G (i live in a strong LTE area)
GPS: locking was spotting that I would have to flash stock ROM, lock signal, update PRL and then flash choice ROM (pain in the arse).
Calendar: some could not connect to my google calendar account via app (could not connect to server would be the memo. Very basic need)
User personalization: each has their strengths/weakness but LEGO has the best of the best for me. (nice to have NOVA launcher as default)
Kernel Tweaks: most had a very thorough tweak menu and LEGO did not disappoint.
Portable Hotspot: hit or miss with them all. Have yet to try with LEGO but will report when I do.
Anyway, that's my experience and thank you again for your work to update.
I might've found a home with LEGO.
Hey, this ROM is actually pretty cool. Good job, mate! Gonna have to check this out for a couple days and see how it runs after some stress

Looks great only missing screen record, advanced privacy guard, clear all recents button and touchkey leds settings. I can live with that, as you mentioned it will take its time till all lego gimmicks are added..

WARNING: this is untested and i can not test it i am not held responsible for anything that happens to your device when flashing this.
Okay ive had allot more time for developing but i didn't want to do kernels i was gonna make a pure AOSP 5.0 lollipop build based on CM12/AOSP and i was slowly gonna make it more and more stock pure AOSP. But when i woke up and it was done building my Verizon HTC One decided to die on me so here's the first/untested build. Never tested straight from being built now this is mostly just plain CM12 i will be posting a new build with stock settings and more CM12 features removed.
I was slowly gonna merge this with pure AOSP and just use Cyanogenmod device tree/CM hardware components
If i get testers i will update this with more of a AOSP experience but if i don't get enough testers i will have to stop support until or if i can get my hands on a new VZW HTC One.
All the credit goes to Cyanogenmod team for there awesome work!

What's the point if you aren't going to test or fix issues? We already have a thread that is doing much more than this.

If you're changing source code then you should be maintaining your own git instead of just linking to CM. Especially considering you don't have an m7 to test with.

It booted up fine. Call worked sms worked camera worked. That's all I got. Seemed nice and smooth but had to switch back to old rom because I'm on call and need something I know works for the night. I think your build is good I'm just a little paranoid about staying on something that I haven't used a lot. I will use it more later in the week and report back.

And you can say thanks when i actually do more to it i don't deserve that yet as its mostly cms work at the moment.
Seems to be working fine, though the front facing camera acts weird... Looks like a CM12 issue though as I tried santod's port too and it did the same thing.
Great job
Ive been using this since shortly after you released it, it appears to work fine. I even have the face unlock feature active and it works flawless.
dude, battery life on this is stellar. it blows cm12 out of the water. i use to hemorrhage battery at 8.1% per hour, with this i actually get deep sleep and dropped to about 2.6%
Good job on the build. Much better than i expected.
Everything seems to be working great, except Bluetooth. I can connect to my speaker and headphones fine, but when you play Pandora, it just keeps skipping to the next song and never plays. Google Music is wonky too. Many thanks for working on this ROM!
I'm having issues with the touch screen becoming unresponsive at times. Only way out is a hard reboot.

LOADS of customization options...
U can customize the smallest detail of the ROM..
Anyways, so much of customization will obviously give some bugs.. So here are a couple of 'em-
1. The clear all recents btn isn't aligned correctly.. I selected bottom center but its a little misaligned.. (Screen attached)
2. When u select "Show fusion logo when recents are empty, the system ui restarts (as it shud) but the Nav bar buttons disappear.. They function as usual though..
(Also in screen)
Please ignore the attached image.. Just see the image IN my post
Anyways, these bugs can be neglected, due to the awesomeness of this ROM..

Not as smooth as other custom rom out there.
When you enable the Nav.Bar option, HOME BUTTON wake up won't work.
Lags a bit.
The black theme is good,
but the color of the fonts hurts my eyes.
make the font colors white instead of yellow
My phone heats up easily using this rom.
Going back to crdroid.
Be back when the issues are fixed.
Nice rom btw.
Hoping for future updates.

ImChoey said:
Not as smooth as other custom rom out there.
When you enable the Nav.Bar option, HOME BUTTON wake up won't work.
Lags a bit.
The black theme is good,
but the color of the fonts hurts my eyes.
make the font colors white instead of yellow
My phone heats up easily using this rom.
Going back to crdroid.
Be back when the issues are fixed.
Nice rom btw.
Hoping for future updates.

Play with the rom a little, maybe it needs to settle, mine does not heat, this rom and cRdroid are the best mm for my phone, and I have no lag (but I didn't test navbar, in my s3 the screan burnd from constantly using the navbar so I'm curently stayng away from it). I'm loving the wi-fi stability compared to cm
Trying it soon[emoji4]
And also,
are we going to see a video review for the ROM? @ISF @shark jungle ?????
(I am not requesting or anything, I am just asking so take your time!)

This ROM is the best ROM for me on MM, a fusion of Ressurrection CM13 (for the customizations, you have already all the CM13 app! New Camera, Eleven Music ^^) and AOSP MM (for the stability, WIFI stable, Charge is fast 1900 mha)... I continue to try a little and after post a feedback.
Just a request for the next release:
- Integrate Launcher 3 by default (for have the choice to use Nova or Google Launcher)
- Integrate Nova Launcher in App not SYS app (problem for update and change default launcher)
Flashing this today ?

Totally bonkers but I got it working. Hidden menu over phone (*#*#3646#*#* for those using search before posting for hours like me lol), set to default at LTE/CDMA and power cycled a few times. Making sure to keep persevering and changing it because it likes to default on LTE/GSM/CDMA/WCDMA and that's just not working. I also changed radio band to United States but I don't know if that was all that necessary, but its worth noting. Now its working and I even got VoLTE/AdvCall, the works.
Time to rock me some serious Hello Kitty Adventure Island time.

Oh, update on this. Setting it to United States at least for me is mandatory. If the radio band is on Automatic it will not work no matter which setting its on. The default of LTE/CDMA/UMTS (prl) does not work under any band. LTE/CDMA and Global do however.

Glad it is working for you. A quicker way to access the hidden menu is data usage->three dots at the upper right> then preferred network type. But again glad it's working

@tabp0le is one of the main reasons this rom became possible, software wise, as for hardware wise that would be @thewalkingdude and @buckmarble...........
If you seen his name in the screen shot, then obvious hes mentioned ... also if you look at the front page it says UNDER CONSTRUCTION..
there are many people to thanks.. I just havent gotten there.. would you rather me spend the next 10 days thanking people off the rip, or release a rom so that people can
have something new for a change ?
Also @tabp0le is in chat with me 24/7 on Slack group.. I talk to him everyday.. and he knows I am using his kernel for the building inline..
My kernel isnt setup for inline building yet..............
But yes, thank you for pointing that out to me.. When I get the time. I will finish the OP or have one my other members do it for me...............

Jesus dude was only pointing it out.
If that's the way you deal with people I'll pass on this one, which I'm sure you couldn't care about either way.

Fair enough and good luck.
Thread is Under Construction:
All mentions and features and instructions will be posted,
at the soonest time allowed.
I posted this thread at 12am, Was extremely tired.
Nobody will be left out.
@aclegg2011 and I spend the last 2 days trying to squash the sound and video bug that we were presented with..
Sound was fixed by removing google ffmpeg encoder. Dev options was fixed by disabling the System Reset Protection in system.prop.
Stock camera built with ROM still crashes.. we are working on that.. But all other 3rd party cameras work....................
Video does work as well as recording.. Google Camera doesnt work on video saving because of sdcardfs disabled in device tree..
we are working on this..............................
@Eliminater74 Thank you for your hard working. Btw, I see a new build 0408 in AFH. Are camera issues fixed in this build?
