Anyone BOGO news? - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Seeing everyone in this forum and other people online get their note 7's is making me so sad, I want to buy one for my dad and I but $850 per one is pretty steep. So, I was wondering if anyone has heard any news or rumors about a bogo for tmobile/sprint for this phone.(buy one note 7 get one free. not the buy a note get a s7 edge free) Thank you for your help

You would probably have to check at your carriers retail store because best buy has the note7 and S7 deal but my carrier AT&T has the 2 note 7's.

I've been looking into it constantly and there's no news. I finally went and looked at Evan Blass' Twitter page and read his original tweet where he suggested that there would be a BOGO for note 7 at T-Mobile. There was a reply to his tweet on August 2nd where someone told him his information was wrong. Evan Blass got offended and told him that his info was correct. He seemed very adamant that a BOGO is coming but gave no further info. With his reputation on the line he said more than once that he was not wrong and it's coming. Go look at his Twitter page and read the tweet from July 19.
I'm very impatient too and want to get my wife and I our note 7 ASAP.
I'm sure it will come in the next couple of weeks. No later than the iPhone 7 launch.

It just officially came out today, come on. But sprint is offering a S7 free if you buy a note 7. Just saw the commercial as I was typing!

I purchased two from att with a bogo, 695 off the second phone. So almost free. They give you credit in your statement, for the 30 month installment plan. One phone can be an upgrade but the second has to be a new line.

wow I wish Canada had BOGO deals! So you guys can buy a Note 7 and get another for free? That's amazing!!

So Verizon is already having their BOGO. Att has theirs. It would be hard for me to imagine that T-Mobile would not also do it.
I looked on Evan Blass' Twitter and the same guy was giving him a hard time telling him he was wrong about the BOGO. I think he was trying to provoke him to get more info.
At this point I don't know what to think but I'm so impatient I just don't know if I can wait.

Okay, I hope I'm not getting on people's nerves. I keep posting about this BOGO deal and I don't know if no one is really interested but this and the other thread are dead and I'm not just posting to boost the thread. I might just be super impatient but I'm about ready to give up on this BOGO deal. I'm starting to get the understanding that if T-Mobile did a BOGO it would be a T-Mobile promo and not a Samsung promo. If T-Mobile wanted to do a BOGO promo they would have done it at launch to compete with Verizon and ATT and draw in new customers.
I'm feeling like it's not going to happen. T-Mobile is still offering the promo deal to get the free gift with the note 7 now through Sunday. I might just break down get 2 this week.
If no one cares and no one is paying attention to this thread that's cool, maybe I just needed some time to talk to myself to work through my decision. If anyone is interested drop a post and let me know that I'm not the only one. Check you out later.

Don't worry man, I'm so anxious for this deal to happen too! I've been postings everywhere I suggest you wait until the 28th to buy, if you don't get the bogo deal at least you get a gear fit 2 or 256gb micro as card

[POLL] Upgrade to S3 now or wait for S4?

I am due for an upgrade with Sprint. I am currently on the Evo 4g. There seems to be some good holiday deals on the S3 right now. I was thinking about jumping on one of these. However, after doing some reading it looks like the S4 may not be too far around the corner. Any thoughts on waiting it out or even waiting for the first of the year for some of the new HTC line? I know waiting with a subsidized carrier like Sprint means you're basically losing money, so I'm trying to decide the best course of action.
I would say just get the s3 its an amazing phone I'm running cm10 on it right now and its super fast stable and the battery life is amazing! The s4 most likely won't be out until next summer if you want a major upgrade I would say wait for the galaxy note3 or the nexus5!

I got mine on black friday so it was impossible to turn down. I had the evo, but it just wasn't cutting it. Rooted and everything stripped out of it, I still couldn't have facebook, google music, google maps, and skype installed at the same time because of storage issues. I really like the s3, and if you can get a good deal on it, you might as well. My gf still has the evo, and she's now eyeing my s3. If you want to wait for the s4, you might as well wait for the s5 or s6, or whatever... My philosophy with tech has always been, what will benefit me the most now, because if you always have in the back of your head that you plan to upgrade, you never will. Do it now, or do it never lol
I'm currently leaning toward the upgrade, but I may have just been dealt a blow. I checked with Amazon and they said I'm not eligible for the $50 price because I'm a current customer (despite that I'm up for a two year contract extension). Does anyone else have any experience with this? Is this true?

That doesn't make sense. Could you print out price from Amazon and go to best buy for price match?
I could see if they still had premier upgrades after first year but you have fulfilled your 2 year obligation to sprint. You're a free agent now.

That's what I figured as well. I haven't really found any information on the internet about people upgrading after a 2-year contract either. Has anyone successfully done so through Amazon or any other retailer? Perhaps I was mistaken when I thought the discounted price applied to me?
Also, will it matter that I am on a SERO plan? Don't want to lose that guy!

Best buy is supposed to be having a sale on the Galaxy S3 this Sunday....it'll be $50 in store.
Got mine for $30 through Amazon about 3 weeks ago. But I was a new sprint customer.

Easy call, if you see an outstanding deal on the S3 ($50 or under) then snag one. If a deal doesn't come your way then hold off. I'm on the SGS3 right now and it is a pretty amazing device. I was able to get it for $50 through Sprint on the Black Friday stuff, my wife's SGS3 on the other hand we shelled out $250 for, and we just wish we had waited the extra couple of months *Grin*.. Of course if you are like some and Money isn't an issue Get Both !
Just got mines Today at Best Buy for $49.99. One day sale!!!
Got mine black friday, price matched from sams at walmart. Got a $100 gifrcard too. Freakin sweet! Id say get this phone, its gonna be one people still want a year from now. Promise.

I also had the original Evo 4G for two years wating on the SIII to come out.
At this point, you might as well wait for the SIV to use your upgrade option. Shop around for deals on SIII online and you might just be able to snag both phones.
It is an amazing phone though. I can say with confidence that i'll keep it until I get a good deal on a SIV, after the first few months after the launch date.
Well after talking with Sprint Employee Account (I'm on a SERO-P plan), they offered me $75 off my bill for the next two months to effectively make the S3 $50. I went ahead and took the plunge! I should have the phone tomorrow.

Just get the s3. Still a strong selling phone. Stay away from HTC. They tend to stop updates to there phones after they have been out for a short time. I don't think the note3 will be out anytime soon since the note2 just came out. S4 won't be out until sometime next year probably.

I decided to go ahead and take the plunge for the S3. I was eligible for the early upgrade and I had the Buy Back program from Best Buy. If I waited for the "next" phone I would have lost the Buy Back. Turned out the S3 was $99 and the Buy Back gave me $130 on my old Epic 4G, so I made out pretty well. Got the phone and had some left over cash to use on a case.

[Q] T-mobile noob needs buying advice for GN2 -- pay full price?

Howdy,
Noob here, looking to get a Note 2, but need a little advice to make sure I'm not overlooking something.
Background:
I currently have a Galaxy S II that is way too sluggish and frustrating (was my first smart phone, purchased a year ago).
I’m with T-mobile on their “value plan” and have about a year left on my contract. I’ve been with them for over 10 years.
Options:
Is my only option to pretty much pay for a Note 2 at full price ($650)? I cannot find any deals online for a SGH-T889. The guy at the T-mobile store said it wouldn't even make a difference if my contract was up or not -- price for the phone would be the same. Wow.
Any ideas?
I suppose I could try to call their customer retention line but I feel like they are not going to do much for me, since I’m pretty powerless – being locked into a contract with a year left. I really don’t want to leave T-mobile anyway.
The only other thing I can think of...: It sounds like there is probably going to be a rebate sale on Valentines day, but there are no details out yet – just grand speculation that there's going to be a big sale. Does anyone know if to qualify for one of their rebates, you typically have to be out of contract? I'm guessing "yes".
I also looked on craigslist and eBay for used Note 2s, but apparently people think they are made out of gold – barely discounted. For the price they are asking I’d just rather purchase new.
Thanks for the help.
-Nate
first of all, you ask in the wrong section because this is General section...your question should be in T-Mobile Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting Section
"The guy at the T-mobile store said it wouldn't even make a difference if my contract was up or not -- price for the phone would be the same." i think this isnt right because as a value plan customer you have the right to upgrade your phone anytime and when your 22 months is up you will receive discount to upgrade your phone with lowest price.
i get my note 2 for only $180 with renew 2 years contract at a retail store. you should try to check the price around those retail stores.
Thanks man.
You get a deep discount at the end of your contract and you are on a "value" plan? Or are you on a "classic" plan?
Regardless, if I don't want to wait that long, I'm pretty much stuck paying full price, right?
PS -- Sorry if this was the incorrect area; feel free to move post
Value plan you pay full price with money up front then $20 payments a month after.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
I ran into the same thing. On the value plan, you pay retail, but in payments. So you would probably have 200-300 down and 20/mo if you have the available credit on your account. You can upgrade anytime, price is always the same. I am on prepaid ($30/mo 5GB is hard to beat if you don't want lots of minutes). I did the math and figured that I would break even paying out of pocket full price in less than a year. That's worth it to me to save up for a while. At the end of the day, it's up to you. I'm loving the Note2, excellent device. Even better if TMO really does drop LTE as fast as they plan to.
They are just trying to boost there sales rate for personal promotions thats why I hate tmobile sales man they always try to push you into something ur not sure about well just look into it buddy
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Even with the payment plan, you essentially just pay full price for the phone. There's another option though. You could try going through craigslist or ebay if you trust them. You would save a little plus tax but the down side is that they could report the phone as missing. But in my experience of buying phones off craigslist, or never happened to me. You just have to find a reliable seller. I bought my t mobile note 2 off CL around 2 weeks ago for $400 brand new in box. The seal was still on the box and I tried my sim to make sure it worked and it did. If you go through ebay, you would have buyer protection though ebay, so if anything goes wrong you could dispute with ebay. Buying from ebay would also allow you to buy insurance for your phone through a third party. Square trade is a good company to get the insurance from.
natesi,
The Tmobile rep was right, you are going to more or less pay full regardless of the timing of your purchase. You are on the "Value" plan, pure and simple, its a service only plan and its bare bone. Other plans allows you to get a discount (subsidized priced) phone, but the trade off is higher plan prices.

That's not correct. Phones are not subsidized on Value Plans. On a Classic Plan, yes. Value Plans require you pay full price for the phone - half down, and $20 a month.
I got a quick question im on tmobile sold my tmobile s3 I haf first got on contract with tmobile and now I got a note 2 just a few weeks ago used but like new I had callef tmobile about my payments and they seen my sim was registered as a note 2 the rep on the phone said by the way u have a great phone the note 2 is awesome well the bottom line is the phone is absolutely clean esn and imei since im using I with tmobile 4g $70 wanted to know if tmobile would let me get the unlock code for my note or do I have to wait a few months ive been with them since august of 2012

if you can wait a few months to see what the gs4 and gn3 are about may be a good idea?
Thanks everyone, I appreciate all the feed back -- it helped a lot!!! Seriously.
I went into the T-mobile store (again) and asked about the upcoming Valentines Day sale. The sales associate said that to get the rebates you don’t normally have to be out of contract – you just have to *extend* (renew) your contract.
I’m not sure if he is correct or not, but I HOPE so.
Last year, they were giving a couple hundred off phones (with rebates), so although it will be really painful to wait longer, I think I will hold off until I find out what kind of deals they are going to have on the Valentines Day sale.
Unless, that is, I can find a good deal on one sooner. I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

Hmmm... I was thinking about that...
The GS4 is expected in the US around the end of April/May, right?
And the GN3? I was thinking around Sept - Dec release, although I just saw these articles, stating possibly at the end of February (???). That seems insanely soon though, for a phone that just got released not too long ago. Or maybe not?
I'd show you the links I'm referring to, but I'm being blocked from doing so because I don't have 10 posts yet (lame).
The other thing is, the Note 3 will supposedly have a 6.3 inch screen?! Doesn't that seem a tad on the too-large side?
How credible do you think a February-ish release date is for the Note 3, and how soon before it goes on sale in the US, you think?

He was correct. Any of the T-Mobile sales are for existing and new customers. If you're on value, you can just buy it on EIP (payments) and still qualify for the rebate regardless of contract tenure. I'd put my money on $0 down after rebate being the sale for V-Day.
hmmm.... I just saw a Samsung Galaxy "next big thing" Super Bowl ad/video on youtube.
What could they possibly be announcing besides the Note 3, if that is suppose to ship before the S4?

Why would the GN3 ship before the GN4? the GN2 is not even 6 months out yet. The GN3 is approaching a year. My guess is this rumor is actually caused by the note 8.0 which will likely be made official at MWC.

Boy do I hope that's true. I passed on the Christmas Sale because it was only $100 down and not $0 down. I'm holding out hope that the V-Day sale goes down to $0. If not though, they will surely at least match the Christmas sale with $100 down. I think I'll pull the trigger at that point. There will likely be another sale for the Value Plan only transition, but I don't know if I can wait that long.
Info for you

Yeah, I know it is weird that the Note 3 would come out so soon -- I'm just going by what I read in a few articles yesterday.
LIke I said, I cannot post links yet -- not my fault -- I don't have a high enough post count.
Here's how you can find some articles that talks about the possible unvailing later this month:
Google "Note 3 release date"
Click on the first news article from PC Tablet "Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date Could be at Mobile World Congress 2013!"
Then maybe the fourth result down by Trusted Reviews, "Samsung Galaxy Note 3 rumours point to 6.3-inch octa-core handset"
And others...
Google customizes search results so your ordering may be different than mine, but you should be able to find those articles with the info I have specified.
It's all speculation of course.
But what would Samsung Mobile be running an expensive Super Bowl ad for, with major celebrities??? What could be that big -- seriously? The SIII is too old to be pushing so hard. What else could it be?
I guess we'll find out on Sunday.
But man, it is taking every ounce of strength I have to not go buy a Note 2 right now.

I would go for it bro. I previously had it on Verizon before switching to T-Mobile so I could get the Nexus 5. Which is the only phone I dig more then the Note 3 and Nexus 4. Got the nexus 5 about a week ago now and I saw the deal on the Note 3 yesterday so went and got one for myself. Its kinda weird having two phones. Like I said I like the Nexus more but I can't resist the awesomeness of the note 3 as well.
So that should tell you how great it is and that it's worth getting now. Normally I would never rock two phones at once. And this time around I can actually do some mods and flash custom Roms to the Note 3 unlike when I had it for Verizon.

Lol I just got me a note 3 last Friday and left Sprint for T-Mobile as well looks like everybody is tired of the mess and I work for them!!! But couldn't have picked a better device soo in love!
Sprint sucks
Everyone and their mom's leaving Sprint for T-Mobile? Lol count me in to the club, I just got my Sprint account termination letter due to excessive roaming. Me and my wife are very interested on getting this phone but we missed on the cyber Monday deal. In the end the phone will probably be around the same price, just zero down vs 100 $ or so down.
There is someone over at the anandtech forums that has a Tmo GN3 for 550$.
Left Sprint as well for tmobile. Speeds are way faster than what Sprints Lte service was in NYC.

Snagged the T-Mobile Note 3 on the Cyber Monday deal and am loving it. Switched from Verizon to stop overpaying for data.
If you didn't get the deal for Cyber Monday (or the whole weekend for that matter), the T-Mobile in our area seems to ALWAYS be running sales or specials. You may be able to snag it at Christmas, if your willing to play their game a little. Some minor customer coercion/pity can go a far way, even if they aren't currently offering it.

[Q] Note 4 Pre Order Question *Please advise*(BB)

I pre-ordered the device via BB only to find out that several stores in my area only received a handful of stock ( less than 8 within a 90 mile radius .) So, I am trying to figure out if this is a nationwide thing? Whats the advantage of pre-ordering when you can go to sprint on launch day and pick one up? I called BB mobile number and they told me that they were waiting on the manufacturer. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or is this just an isolated issue for my area?
My store had 2... TWO im so pissed i even was going to buy it at sprint but they said the double buyback credit was over ...
Yeah same here in east Tennessee, pre ordered last month to only go in bright and early today and be told they don't have mine in, that I didn't pre order as early as some (also on my date of pre order the lady that helped me said "we will have enough that if you change your mind about the color you want you can change it that day" well she was wrong, and they told me to keep calling back and that they may get a shipment TONIGHT. It really blows to be let down by a terrible product release on the release date. I so happened to eyeball the cage with the phones in them and they had only around 15 note 4's, needless to say I will never pre order with them again and plus the misinformation given to me they should be held accountable due to the lack of training they give staff (that or the staff was trying to get rid of me).
I feel the pain

YOu guys are absolutely right, I asked a manager about the issue and they blamed it on the manufacturer saying that samsung didnt deliver enough of them. Whats the point of pre-ordering if I can go to the sprint store on launch day and walk out with a phone? Sprint stores in my area are still offering the (up to 200 trade in) but not the samsung guarantee 200 with the trade in, of a phone worth atleast 10 dollars. YOU SUCK BEST BUY!
I just got off the phone with my best buy and the guy told me they got 10 in only 5 for att and 5 for Sprint.

i just called mine and they where to busy to talk or give me a idea if they had any. i left my number for the callback
I called mine, and they said they had a lot of ATT models, and I was the 3rd person from Sprint to preorder.... This guy told me that they only got 2 sprint phones. and I'd have to wait on next shipment.... Best buy is garbage. It wasn't Samsung, its Best Buy, because if sprint has a surplus and has Pre-Orders AND walk-ins, there is a gap here. They better honor the deal considering it's their fault they don't have my phone ready. I plan on going in and paying 100 + taxes give or take.
Man, this sucks that you guys are having all this trouble.
The whole double buyback thing is a farce anyway, especially if you're dealing with a relatively new device. No way would I have traded in my LG G3 for $200. I'll sell it on eBay and get at least $350 - $400 for it. This is why I normally just go with the carrier stores. Sure, their promotions aren't always great, but I paid $79 less than Best Buy would have charged me ($720 vs. $799) and I had the phone in my hands yesterday, delivered right to my door. To boot, I'll make almost double what Best Buy would have given me for my old phone. All that combined is totally worth foregoing the promotions in my book.
Regardless, I hope you guys get your phones soon That's total BS. What's the point in pre-ordering if you can't get the product on release day? Isn't that the reason pre-orders exist in the first place?
My sprint store told me the 200 buy back ended
Stop whining guys. You're getting 200 skins for a $10 phone. That works out to getting a Galaxy Note 4 for $99.. have patience. At least that's the deal with Best Buy.

Im actually trading in a note 2 i think its worth 10 bucks
I am quick to let my S3 go. lol, its ultra outdated. I just find it so crazy that best buy can't ever get it right come pre-orders. I think if they reserved the money aside they can come with the phones... They don't delay in taking payment, they shouldn't delay in giving the product. Now if I could go to them and say I want a pre-order and we both take our times in delivering money and product, then sure take as much time as need be.
yeah i just talked to them and they said no ETA on next shipment and mine did not come
I called my BB cause they are 45 min away. He said they had my phone set aside for me and it would be there waiting.
I believe that whole being clueless on when next shipments and things coming in, is utter crap. I've worked in retail, and for them not to know not only would be unprofessional its completely incompetent of the employees. I believe that is just what they are trained to say. Ehh, what do we do though. Might as well sit it out n wait. I think if people are just better informed things wouldn't be so bad. Don't give the "I don't know" line as a business.

rEALLY?
nO offense dude, but that comment was silly. So you mean to tell me if I purchase a 13 oz steak for a 3 oz steak cost, I shouldn't complain if I get it at some point, just not when I want it? I.E 3 hours later... and cold? lol *Its my money and I want it now* -Like in the commercial
That phone is still a beast atleast

Do you think they will actually offer the buy one get one promotion for the Note 7? Leakster Evan Blass said they would.

Not until sales slow down, I don't think sales will be as good as the s7 and edge
Friend/manager at t-mobile said he was given an outline for three months and they didn't mention anything of the sort for the note7. Im stumped.
ATT is doing this right now, not sure if its for new customers or just for buying a Note 7. The wife and I just did this yesterday, we are leaving tmobile and doing the direct tv to get the unlimited data. ATT is not advertising this deal for some reason but if you go to a store they will fill you in.
So far Target seems to have the best deal. Buy N7 get $200 if you trade in any working device, $100 gift card and a free gear device.

I'm very confident once iPhone 7 will be released or right before we will see all the BOGO deals for note 7. Knowing Samsung and how competitive they get.

Last time on the S7 release we didn't find out about the BOGO deal until right after the phone was released. People who pre ordered were not happy but I remember someone saying on XDA that he went back to the store with his phone that he pre ordered and they let him get the BOGO deal.
I want to pre order and get the SD card but i don't want to miss out on the BOGO. But if they don't have the BOGO I'll miss out on the SD card too.

Does your friend at T-Mobile always know about these deals ahead of time? At the T-Mobile store an associate told me that they only find out about the deals the day before. But he was just an associate. Ask your friend if there is a chance of a deal that they are not yet telling him. I imagine they would want to keep that as secret as possible because if everyone knew they are having a BOGO deal after launch I'm sure that would hurt pre-order sales.

That makes a lot of sense. The iPhone is supposed to launch in September and the Note 7 Launches in late August so it would make sense for them to offer the BOGO right after launch or within a couple weeks after.
I got a pair of Note 7s BOGO. T-Mobile dropped the ball and is making it up to me.
I highly doubt we will see a BOGO deal anytime soon. Especially with how well pre-order sales have been doing. Unless they start slowing down on sales, and if the iPhone 7 is something amazing to compete with, then maybe we will see a good deal. Otherwise, if sales are consistently hi and the iPhone 7 happens to be a flop, Samsung will pick up all the converters moving from iOS to Android.

Didn't hear about that. When was it?
The bogo last sat was for everything but note 7
I spoke to the head of loyalty and was informed there was a one day BOGO event on THE NOTE 7. He was able to get me a BOGO deal for some mess ups on my acct.
---------- Post added at 01:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:06 AM ----------
I know which event you are talking about because I got my s7 edge on BOGO as well. Could have got a tablet as well today, I'll see if it's worth the extra $10×24 commitment.
10 X 24 is only $240.... I'm sure you could easily sell a note 7 for $600..... A freebie is free $.
I got one note for free. The tablet was free with a 24×$10 commitment, sorry for the confusion.
Dayum... that sounds even better

I can confirm, I was this close -----> | | <------ to doing it with the same Direct TV/unlimited data on 4 lines deal. I had 2 note 7's and 2 iPhone 6s's on BOGO, and would've had to pay the taxes had I signed up.
But I didn't. So there's that.
Does anyone in the community reading this know someone at T-Mobile that can give you a little inside information that can be shared here?
