I can't use google voice in the Samsung keyboard - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Every time I hit the Mic button it goes to S voice. I disable and enable Google automatic typing but no luck. Anyone else?

Same here. I installed Google Keyboard and Google Handwriting.

I personally switched to SwiftKey which is the closes to Samsung Keyboard. Have no clue why they took out Google voice typing and tried to make us use Samsung voice typing.

Noticed this issue as well! Samsung Voice is no were near as good or accurate as Google Voice. Very disappointed. They could have at least given us a choice!

I agree. This is a major issue for me. Especially since you can not disable censoring of spoken words in S Voice. Which is a MUST for me.
This needs to get fixed Samsung. I am considering returning my note 7 because of this. My S5 is still plenty fast. Just does not have a stylus.
EDIT: Ugh, the Google keyboard has no number line. That is a number 1 gripe that I have about phone keyboards. Switching back to the Samsung one....

This is the type of thing that would be no big deal if these garbage bootloaders weren't locked.

Leave a comment / review for the Google key board on the play store. I experience the same thing when i got the note 4 left a bag review and it was fixed on the later update release.

Anyone experience with Google Voice Apps?

I'm looking into buying a Google Voice App. Did a few searches, but the reviews are mostly outdated and some of the cons are undoubtedly fixed.
Wondering if anyone recently done the same search and what conclusion you came to?

If you mean the program that records calls, I had an issue one time on my HD7. I used the app on an Android and it recorded a call and kept showing the icon on the lockscreen of my HD7 when I started using it. What it did was mix up the voice message origin between the Google app and the built-in app. I could never get the icon to go away until I made a new voice message to my HD7 using the built-in app. Then I was able to delete the message and make the icon disappear.
I stopped using Google Voice because of that.
I've been using GoVoice, and its worked pretty good so far. Its a far cry from the official Google Voice app I had on android, so I'm hoping socket support comes soon, and hoping Google will make an official app like they did with the iPhone.
I come from using a Nexus One so the switch has been painful to say the least. I do like GoVoice somewhat. Hate the fact that you have to sign up for a third party service to get push notifications. Otherwise it's an ok app.
My pick is FreeTalk. I was using GoVoice before, but I found that FreeTalk offers a more user friendly interface. I like the fact that when I start up FreeTalk, you can immediately choose to either look at your messages or immediately swipe to the phone keypad hub screen to make a call. This is especially useful to me, as I make a lot of international calls through Google Voice. Lastly, for those who might need this feature, there is a non-English translation option that will translate your SMS and text voicemails to another language. I am not sure if this is built-in into the Android version, and I don't think I saw it in GoVoice either.

Why does it do this?

Anyone else hate how picture messages play as video for a few seconds then go back to texts when its done? Sometimes its just a button to press play, no preview of it in the texts.
This happened on my Captivate no matter what ROM I used so I don't think it is Nitro specific. I would like to know how to stop it though.
Most annoying thing. I've only had my android for a couple months now. Mine and my wife's phones both did this. Go to the android market and download "GO SMS Pro". Its an awesome messaging function and I don't use the factory messaging anymore. It eliminates the annoying play feature and gives you a lot of cool features as well.

A bit off topic, but is there an app that would use google voice for messaging? google's voice app is kind of hard to use, imo.

S Voice lady sounds a little rough?

hey guys.
anyone else not too happy with the way S Voice sounds? even though I had the Galaxy S3 before I never used S Voice until I got this phone. now i'm trying to get along with all the new tech, including S Voice and it's working well...but jeez she does not sound very friendly.
the voice sounds a little too rough for a woman in my opinion...any way to adjust it?
do you guys use S Voice?
I find myself using them both. S voice does better with reminders and calander appointments for me. I use google now to look up stuff on the net. On past leaks they had it were you could have a British voice. Wish I could get that.
I disabled S-Voice on my phone. I didn't like that i needed to have my phone unlocked to use voice-dial though S-Voice. By disabling the app, it defaults to the Android Voice-Dial which does allow you to use it while the phone is locked. Plus i think Ms. Android sounds more friendly than Ms. Samsung...

Samsung utilized a scampy Yahoo chatroom for their voice acting.
Seriously though, I killed S Voice a long time ago. I just wish I could map my bluetooth headset key to Google Now and not voice dialer.

Reply to text with typing!?

Is there anyway to reply to text messages on the watch with typing??
It's not always convenient to reply with voice and I'd love a mini keyboard or something on the watch to use for ease.
Anyone have a solution?
Thanks
try this http://minuum.com/minuum-on-smartwatch/ havent tried it but will soon sometimes voice isnt always accurate for me
Minuum and this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.michy.wearmessenger&hl=en work pretty well for me. Tried other ones but always come back to this, so worth a couple bucks imo.
Yes, Wear messenger work well with few different keyboard. I prefer the FlipKey with big keys.
I use wear messenger, then I sideloaded Google's keyboard apk and I have working swype on my smart watch.

No Spam Message Blocking? Had it on the Note 4..

I upgraded from a Note 4 to the Verizon Samsung Note 7 today and have been unsuccessful in locating how to send contacts text messages to the spam folder - A feature that I used frequently on my previous phone. Does anyone have any idea where this feature could be? This is different than going into your contacts and blocking their phone calls. If this feature no longer exists, I will likely return the phone for a different one if I cannot find an app to send these texts to without replacing the default messaging app. Any help or ideas on this would be appreciated, thanks!
Verizon has taken that feature away and added their own. They want you to go on my Verizon add block it through there.
Lame huh.
I use an app in the play store called Hiya. An article I read said that White Pages and Hiya merged or WP bought the later and that Samsung was using them. I know it can integrate with messages but I haven't enabled it yet. So far this morning it rejected 5 calls, three were telemarketers or suspected and two were the IRS scam. It flashes for a brief second on the phone then shows "Call Rejected - Suspected Telemarketer", or whatever the reason for rejection. Then it allows you to view comments on the number or add comments of your own. It's pretty cool, although I sometimes miss answering with my latest, "<insert business> Pizza, Would you like to start with our new carry out special?". That or "Judges Chambers, bailiff...", always gets a quick hangup. Lol
Truecaller app is awesome.. I've been using it a long time.
