I recently received my note 7, which I purchased directly from Samsung which means it should not come with any carrier bloatware. I inserted my Canadian Rogers SIM card before turning on my phone and going though the initial set up only to finish and find a bunch of Rogers bloatware like 'MyRogers' and 'AppZone'. I have tried to uninstall these apps but I am only given the option to disable them. I even did a factory reset and made sure there was no SIM card during the whole process, but after completing it, those same bloatware apps were there. Is this normal? Is there a way I can uninstall these apps? One of the reasons I purchased directly from Samsung is so I wouldn't get all those carrier bloatware apps, but for some reason they are in my phone. Any comments and/or help is appreciated.

Just disable them and move on. If Disable is greyed out, use Package Disabler Pro. Also, apps are pre built into the system as system apps, so unless you find an untouched original firmware and flash it through odin, it will always have bloatware. I've disabled 137 samsung apps/services and my phones running like a beaut lol.

So all those websites saying that buying from the manufacturer is better because you won't have all that carrier bloatware are wrong? I read somewhere that they say that when you put a sim card in, it will automatically download all that bloatware, but I just realised my old Nexus did not have this problem which makes things even more confusing.

Although I did disable a few regular samsung apps like internet, calculator, clock, my files, and i think a few others. Just scroll through the list anf checkmark what you want disabled, and leave the things you want enabled unchecked.

Honestly I dont know, I havent bought a phone from a carrier in 5 years. I just go straight to the source. Just use PDP
Once you activate it with a carrier they load their programs onto the phone during activation. Sprint does the same and you can uninstall most of it except for a few.

This is the correct answer, in order to prevent this from happening - go through the activation process without a SIM inserted.

My understanding is that all of the Note 7 versions shipped to carriers install the boatware automatically in the initial setup based upon the first sim that is installed.
So if you took a clean Verizon Note 7 to tmobile it would setup tmobile bloatware instead.
I haven't been able to find out if it is cleared upon reset. I don't know if/when it will be possible to have a bloatware free version here without going with a carrier that just doesn't offer a full version Note 7. It is an awesome phone one way or another!

Unless you found the unlocked, non-carrier branded Note 7 on Samsung's site that they have yet to release then you got carrier bloat. It's not enough to order FROM the manufacturer but it has to say unlocked as the S7 they released is .. there are S7's marked for carriers which will have Samsung bloat and carrier bloat whether it ships on the phone or is downloaded during setup.
Again, you have to have purchased the unlocked, non-carrier branded version. This has not been released yet. Now .. once it has the ROM from that version will make it's way out and you can flash it. Then you'll have what you thought you purchased. :good:

Sorry, that's incorrect. The carrier branded devices have the carrier specific 'bloatware' baked into the signed firmware package. For example, I set up my T-Mobile branded note 7 before I put my SIM in. The tmo bloat was already there.

I got mine yesterday, but I hate the amount of trash ATT has loaded on to it. Is there a original WM7.5 version that comes with non-contract Lumia 900 phones sold elsewhere around the world? In other words, is there a rom available with no ATT stuff on it? Cracked version may be?

Wondering if anyone is using unlocked version in USA, and using the teathering feature. Are you able to use this feature without being charged extra by ATT?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but you can uninstall all the preloaded AT&T apps. Simply hold them in the app list to the right of the start screen and you have the option to uninstall them. If I'm mistaken, what other AT&T stuff are you referring to?
But is there any way to get mango?

It's already mango.....just remove the bloat ware apps by uninstall....
Press and hold the app in the app list that you want to delete and choose uninstall. Done.
yea, you can uninstall any app you want via a long press.
it's actually running a later build than any other windows phone right now since they had to make one to specifically add LTE support so it should have all the bugfixes in it.
it's so refreshing to not have to jump through hoops to remove crapware.

Knox is listed in the application manager, but not the app drawer. I seemed to recall that ATT did the same thing on our Note 3. Why is ATT blocking us from this application?

The question is why do you want this application? As far as I know which is not much as far as knox is concerned but I do know this is how they attempt to detect things like rooting and the sort... Is there things that will not run without knox because mine is disabled and its fine.

Ok from doing minimal research it is for security (so they say) and from what I read this a paid service for some carriers have you called your carrier and asked them if your phone is stock and under warrranty and this is an app that should have been activated with the device then it would be a warranty issue I would imagine . So I would call them first and see what they say. If there no help come on back here. There is a few ways to install apps. (app store, apk file, side load) .
Knox is a application/service which enables users to run a containerized virtual environment with the purpose of maintaining data security for enterprises. It allows users to store data for both personal and business purposes on a single device by keeping the enterprise-side completely isolated. This allows employers to manage and maintain the security of their data.
The Knox counter is just a small piece of the system that is used to maintain the integrity of the service as a whole. The intent of the counter is to ensure that the device, and thus the Knox environment, has not been compromised. Samsung is more concerned about a multi-million dollar breach of their technology than they are about 16yo kids rooting their phones for the "cool factor". The fact that it happens to be a reliable way for them to tell when one of these kids bricked their phone and is trying to get a free replacement is just a side benefit.
Ok just an update I have not deleted any of the knox but only froze on application. Did you find a way to put it on your device...if not im sure it could be ported from a note 3 from another carrier..or simply download the apk.
Note 3 stock rom rooted.

For those of us not willing to root right now, I have to say using package disabler to turn off CleanMaster, S-Voice and S-Finder have done wonders in the last 48 hours for making this phone just as responsive as my 2014 Moto X was. I've been close to biting the bullet and trading it in for almost anything else, and this may have changed my mind.

If you by misstake disable something that has to do with connectivity you will end up having to do a factory restore !!
If you by misstake installed this crap onto your device, you might notice that the de-install option is greyed out, don't panic.
Go into the security section and de-select the app under device administrators.
Now it can be de-installed.

Usually these kind of apps are being offered for free at XDA forums, but there's always somebody who's trying to
turn it into a buck, totally disregarding the people who d/l this and softbrick their phones...
Also the whole purpose and usefulness of the tool is defeated if you need internet access to d/l and use it.
Reason being the phone fills up with crap, the same second you connect it to the internet the first time.
You want to run a tool like this before, not giving the phone a chance to fill up with junk/updates.
Especially important is this in regards to OTA.
Disabled junk is still junk eating precious space on your mobile.

It only needs internet connection the first time by instaling procees, because the licence activation only works with internet. Once its activated it Work´s well
The server is very busy so it could mbe that you have to wait till all is fine again.
Im using it with my Galaxy S6 Stock not rooted 5.1.1 and i have disabled most of the system app

I am not sure what you are saying about this app is correct! in Android please tell me which app do not require internet, and accessing internet is dangers then all apps in play store is dangerous. Debloater do not give any recombination for which packages to disable, if you disable system packages with Debloater the only option left is factory reset (I have to factory reset my Note 3 after using Debloater)

Package disabler has a disabler all bloatware option . it will remove 100+ apps . that you did not know existed on your device.
There is also coding to identify bloatwares. It will double your speed.

i haven't root my S6 edge and don't really want to yet. so i was looking for something like this.
yeah i debloated it with a few app i actually use, great thing about this app is that it shows you which app are "confirmed" safe to deblot. it actually debloted automatically like 140things from my system.
where can i get those codes i don't se it in any of the setting?
i was about to give up on touchwiz and this galaxy s6, since i got it touchwiz has been hell with the reloading of widget and icons, clear cache and data help but a few hours later the slowness would returned ( i already exchanged devices 4 times for other reason and all of them had the same problem), also phone would get hot, sometimes pretty darn hot.
This app has solve all problem (also a different launcher like nova solved it) but using touchwiz and this debloted app have giving me more battery life, super fast device, no more reloading, and it never heats up.
i for one would like to have a device from samsung that i would not have to deblot to get a lag free experience. i believe the only device i have never root from samsung was the note 3 which ran like a champ always.

About time someone thought about security. That program is being used a lot on the note 5 forum. I find it to be potentially a huge security issue. I initially downloaded it and installed. I later that about it. I just went ahead and factory reset. It has way too much access imo.

Side note: I noticed it says knox is bloat.. But when I disable it causes my phone to bug out. Anyone else have similar issues?

If you own the phone outright, paid in full, they should disclose what they are doing to it. I cleared and froze right after upgrading.

This was also present on S6 and forward. Not new, but this should never have been added in the first place. I don't want random games on my phone.
I tried to disable but asked "Would you like to replace app with factory version?" Is another app that does the same thing going to replace it? I can't disable DT ignite if I don't click yes

I tried to disable but asked "Would you like to replace app with factory version?" Is another app that does the same thing going to replace it? I can't disable DT ignite if I don't click yes

Its because DT ignite has updates installed. Click yes and it will put the "factory" non-updated version back on the phone. Then it will allow u to disable as normal.

For those that may not have found it yet I have just started using Package Disabler Pro which let's you disable all of the verison and other bloatware without root...

DT ignite is a cancer waiting to spread. Forcing apps to install onto the device that has almost half its storage already taken by bloat. Haven't seen any apps besides the beam software install without my permission, had to install Nextradio manually ( which has annoying ads ). DT Ignite could one day install an app that can compromise your phones security due to programming flaws. All quickrooter exploits have been patched, however if it feels like a Trojan it is a Trojan
Just updated my VZ Galaxy S6 edge plus 64gb and this Cancerous AIDS is in that update as well. Before my eyes I had apps appearing like magic installing themselves one by one.
This is worse than most phones that have crap in their root preinstall folder that show up after every restart
Haven't had anything wacky installed, it's even installing an updated Instagram not from the Google play store
So before I attempt and break my Zfold4 I was wondering if anyone has tried it yet if so how did it go wand what did it remove?? As well if not do you think it will work on a non rooted Zfold

Well update I answered my own question it appears it was able to remove 3 Samsung bloat!!
This broke my software update check. I used ADBAppControl to restore the removed app. With no way to restore the apps using Samfw app I would recommend not using it.
Hmm interesting mine keeps wanting to to down load but for now gonna sit on mine firmware sense apparently my firmware isn't anywhere at least not on Sammy or samfw, but yea it removed 3 bloat but I also disabled the Knox with the samfw from tool
Personally I use Package Disabler, not in the Play Store and is a minimum cost. You can disable and re-enable in the fly without a PC. Been using it since my Note 10 with no issues.

The samFW extra services are very bad and not worthing the prices. A guy I know who used their unlock service for €29 got a chap that could not find the phone had the developer function debug already activated, did not do the job and did not give him the money back. Just simply stolen.

Debloat has nothing to do with extra services, it's part of FRP tool.
That said, all it does is run a bunch of pm uninstall commands on a list of package names it has. It's much better to tailor your own debloat script per manufacturer to keep/remove things that you care about.
