Clear View Cover & Always On Display - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I am using a Clear View Cover with my Note 7.
However, use of this cover disables the Always on Display feature.
The cover has its own black & white display function but it disappears after a few seconds. It is not "always on"
How can I achieve an always on display with this cover ?
Thanks.

Wondering about this myself.

no ideas ?

Remove the black sticker on the lower right corner inside the cover to reveal a round magnet, flip it around, then replace the sticker.
Same old trick from S7 works on Note 7 too.
Be warned, AOD will be slightly less visible with the cover closed, and you'll lose "close to lock" and "open to unlock" feature.
If you don't like it, flip it back and the case functions as usual.

thanks. that's a nice workaround.
but i would prefer a software solution which didn't break lock on/off functionality. no hope ?

does anybody have any news on this ?
I believe we should force Samsung do something about this.
If we use their original Clear View cover we lose the AOD feature...

A bunch of questions?

Howdy, gentlemen (and gentleladies) I have quite a few questions regarding the note 2. I know my way around android, these are about the device itself. As questions are answered, I will update the OP with the solutions / answers for reference, so others might learn from my ignorance
I bought a flip cover case, not the genuine samsung case, but one off ebay. It doesnt have an indentation for the home button so it is constantly being turned on. Is there a fix, preferably without rooting, for this? Maybe using the proximity sensor?
With the same flip case, I would like to know if it is at all possible to have the devices screen automatically turn on when it is opened, and turn off when it is shut? (Think "iPad with its magnetic cover") Possibly through the use of NFC tags or proximity sensor? The proximity sensor would have obvious issues with other things interfering. SOLUTION FOUND: DOWNLOAD "SIMPLE COVER LOCK" FROM PLAY STORE.
Are there mods that allow selecting something using the S-Pen's button, while it is in the air? Maybe using it to highlight text while in the air or click the button to register an input? I do a lot of copy and pasting and a feature like this can greatly improve productivity.
Is it possible to get the S-Pen to be able to push the soft keys? I absolutely hate having to continually change my hand posture whenever I need to access the back key or open a menu. Maybe, building on my previous question, have some sort of air gesture with the S-Pen button depressed that performs the actions of the soft buttons? WORK-AROUND, NO TRUE SOLUTION YET: GESTURE < AND ^ WITH S-PEN BUTTON DEPRESSED FOR BACK AND MENU ACTIONS, RESPECTIVELY
My last question is simple. Is the LED indicator an RGB LED? Like the one on the galaxy nexus that can be changed to any color? It would be cool to have different notification colors per app, blue for facebook, green for messaging and so on. ANSWER: YES
I appreciate the help, normally I would use my Google-fu but I much prefer answers from other users.

I can somewhat answer the first question. There are apps that allow you to use the proximity sensor to turn off and on the screen. A couple that I've personally tried are Intellicover and Auto Screen on. There's also Screen Lock and Off that allows you to turn off your screen by tapping a button. These work well, but if your flip cover is constantly bumping the home button, using these apps won't do anything different as your home button will still get bumped and then the screen will constantly turn on.
the best app to use for turning on the screen automatically is "simple cover lock" its a small free app that does just what it says it was created for the note 2 and does what it needs to really good
For the menu & back button question, hold the button on your s pen & draw a < on the screen to go back & a ^ for the menu
Edit: Also, Light Flow from the play store let's you control the LED lights

Thanks, seems to work fine for a beta, although it does show my homescreen for a second after the flip cover opens before going to the lock screen, even if it was already on the lockscreen when I shut it. I've never seen that happen with any lockscreen alternative, must be a bug. also, it gets kind of annoying if I accidentally move my hand over the proximity sensor and it shuts the display off, but the note is so big that this occurs rarely. Nonetheless, thanks

Thanks a lot, I feel like I should have known this one, but I can't recall there ever being any tips on this when the TouchWiz motion and gesture guides ran when I first booted my device. Thanks!

to fix the screen turning off when you move your hand over you would need to change the "turn off screen after" time to 5 so it would take longer to turn off when you closed the cover, i dont have the lockscreen bug on my rooted note 2 running a 4.1.2 samsung rom
I see, ill do that! I dont plan on rooting anytime soon, so I guess I have to live with it.

[Q] LG G3 Quick Circle Clock without QC case?

The title is pretty much self-explanatory. Is there a way to set Quick Circle Clock as Daydream but without actually having the Quick Circle case? I don't like the default daydream clock and the quick circle clock is just beautiful but I don't like to use cases on my phone.
Yes, a very good idea but I think LG wants the sales of it's Quick Window cases to stay high so that's why they didn't add it to the DayDream setting originally. Hopefully they will do it in a future update?

ive been thinking same thing.. maybe some dev brings it to our phones...?
If you put a magnet on the left of the screen near center while phone screen off it will enable circle clock

+1 to have a Dev look at this.
I'd really love to install one of the watch face for my lock screen clock!

Been searching for that too, since I just downloaded some custom Clock Theme for my LG G3.

Anyone find a way to do this on the G3 or G4 even?
I don't know how, but two times happened with me that the clock appeared.
First time my wife just put down the phone onto the table, second time I just took it out from my pocket.
Firstly I didn't know what I see, but after some search on the internet I recognized that it is the quick circle clock.
I've checked it and found that it's enabled in the settings.
I don't know how it could happen, but I think somehow my phone recognized something like a quick circle case.
I don't know which sensor is used by the case, I have tried to hide the front sensors, I tried to use my Samsung S4 case too, but I couldn't reproduce it.

Menu and fingerprint option

Hi Guys,
I am used to pressing the menu option and then sliding the apps from left to right and vice versa. Is there any way/app that can do the same in the 5t instead of sliding from down to up everytime?
Also the back sticker of the 5t says not to remove it as it contains important info, but we cannot add the fingerprint if it is kept on the back. Will there be warranty issues if it is removed?
Thanks
If you don't want to lose the information on the sticker, don't throw the sticker away. It will hold the information fine, even when you take it off the phone.
Also, which sticker are you worrying about? The silver one with the CE symbol? That's AFAIK only importing to european customs ("Can't let the product enter our country, if it ain't blighted with that ugly symbol.") Or, do you mean the large one, which tell's you where the NFC antenna sits?
The only way it could be significant to warranty, is having it be able to cross european borders in case of RMA or repairs. Just stick the silver sticker onto the shell, that held the phone in the packaging, and put it back on the phone, when you need to send it somewhere.

If by that, you're referring to the app drawer, then I don't think the OnePlus launcher has that option. However, there are a ton of custom launchers that look and work just like OnePlus launcher that gives you that option. I personally use Nova Launcher and it has the option to have the app drawer in that style.

I'm fairly certain the text saying not to remove the big plastic sticker on the back is a translation error. There is no way to use the fingerprint sensor if it's there.
I second the recommendation for Nova Launcher. It's great, full of options, and quick.

Android 10 Home Gesture Button.

How does one go about removing the grey/white strip background on the home gesture button?? I'd like to have the button but without the white background.
The only solution so far I've come across is using "immersive gestures", which is a Magical module. This requires rooting, though this may be a viable solution I'm looking for another solution which may help me avoid flashing my phone and having to start all over.

In my case it removes the strip, but I'm not sure if there's another way. Maybe somebody else will know.

Question Fold 3 Questions

Hi All,
I have just got myself a fold 3.
I have a few questions i need help with please.
1/. With external screen can a hardened screen protector be put on and if so do i need to remove pre installed protector?
2/. I am thinking of buying this case https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0995WPCXJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2SFKRF5TPZMT5&psc=1
Am i correct to say just the basic s pen will fit and not the pro?
3/. Not sure between the standard s pen and the pro.
Want to make sure it will fit in the case.
Thanks everyone
1, if 2, the case will crack the tampered screen protector if overlayed or pushed the protector off the edge.
2, standard fold spen
3, get the standard will do.

So what about Hydro gel protectors?
it depends on the case and dimension of the protector. i suggest don't change. keep the original protector.

I don't think you can get rid of the locks creek wallpaper, but you can change it to just a solid black picture.
I use Google Voice, but I'm sure there's a notifications setting in the messages app.

1) not to my knowledge. The toggle is in the notification shade. You may want to check in settings for the Auto Rotate option and see from there.
2) Go into Accessibility. Or, go into settings and search Google Assistant.
