Any good clipboard apps for s-pen? - Note 7 Questions & Answers

I'd love to have a clipboard app that's quickly accessible through the air command menu. Right now I use clipper but it goes to the full screen app. I'd love instead some sort of easily dismissable menu/widget. Any suggestions?

SwiftKey keyboard has one built in.... stock keyboard as one also

Thanks.. not really what I'm hoping to achieve. I want something like this:

Replace instagram with the clipboard app (which I currently do with Clipper). But instead of opening a full screen app, it opens a small floating window that can be easily dismissed.

ICS 4.0 & All the Little Things! [undocumented features]

Just wondering for those of you who have the device already, have you guys found some neat features/tricks using 4.0 that haven't been documented or heavily advertised?
I would love to make a list of these features for other users to explore...
Lets get this started
List:
Reserved........
I know it's documented, but it was still a surprise to me - you can now finally delete apps straight from the app drawer, by dragging them just as if you were going to place them on the desktop, but then putting them in the recycle bin on the top.
No affiliation with apple. Or siri.
Sent from my samsung gt i9250 which is in the wrong country.
Nobody's talking about the search app. It's way better than the one in Gingerbread. Much easier to find stuff in your phone : music, app, sms, docs, etc. The old one was returning web search suggestion in 90% of the result... useless.
Search in browser let's you edit suggestion if you want to add something to it. But we lost popular web site suggestion
Just read it on Pocketnow but you can make folders in the favourites bar. Apologies if obvious.
When in the stock browser and you change orientation, tap the screen to make it rotate.

which runs TouchWiz, so it's not stock Android
Rotate the phone to the right whilst in any stock app (so the speaker grill and front camera are on the right). Notice that the back, home and task switch buttons have moved to the top of the screen so that they stay on the right.
When using an ics app hold down on an icon in the action bar to get a description of what it does

Not heavily advertised, but it should be:
The quick control in the browser. Almost the same as on honeycomb. Activate it in the labs settings of the browser. Love it!

NICE find! Thanks!
This is known about, however you said undocumented and I haven't a single document for the Nexus/ICS apart from on one which came with the phone, telling me how to fix the battery.
Hold the volume down and power key, and you take a screen capture. Which is very handy on occasions
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
If you tap the volume button which makes the volume bar appear, you can then press the icon to the left of the volume bar and it toggles between ring and vibrate.

In settings/about phone. Tap repeatedly on the android version number (4.0...) then a little android appears. Keep ur finger on it and it grows into a screen animation.
If u didn't know about this,I guess u r now thinking this is a joke. Or is it?
Need someone to test; try swiping the web pages up/down using 2 fingers

[Q] App to toggle between two apps using gestures?

I ran into an issue recently while using spotify and navigation while driving.
I wanted to keep the screen on spotify but check the map a few times while not taking my eyes off of the road for any length of time.
Long pressing the home button and choosing between the running apps was a pain. I was looking for an app that would just toggle between two chosen apps via a gesture such as a left or right swipe.
An app called "switcher" seemed to be what I wanted but it's no where to be found.
Can some one help find switcher or point me to something that will fill the bill?
You might want to try SwipePad its something like what your looking for. I think it might help

You could also probably accomplish that with Tasker.

Switching between two different apps will take more thought than I have time to provide, but with the info below, you should be on a good start.
In this example you would create a gesture to load a given app:
Create a profile based on an event; the even would be based on sensor; then you would select gesture or shake
NOTE: The Shake or Gesture will then have settings you play with to get it like you want
Then create a task based on App/Load App
The above would launch an app, or change to that app if running in background. Also, there is a function in the App Task to Load Last App. I suspect a different gesture for that would be used (in a new/different profile) which would then switch back to the previous app.
I haven't tested any of that, but I think the theory is sound.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for all the good suggestions; I tried Swipe Pad and it was very good but not what I was looking for. I'll take a look at the tasker thing (thanks very much for that)
In the mean time, I'm using "Car Home Ultra" that lets you assign "big buttons" to functions and I've just assigned an app switch and kill app function...it seems to be working.

Is there a fix or a way to lock the menu button while typing a message?

It's kind of annoying actually that everytime I am typing a message, a part of my palm touches the menu button and the menu window pops up and while typing fast it gets in the way and I push all sorts of stuff. Sometimes the back button also does the same thing too. For the longest time I couldnt figure out what kept popping up. I have on numerous occasions been in the middle of an important long text or email and the whole message was accidentally deleted. Has anyone else experienced this annoying issue? Any fix?
Oh and is there any way to remove the little white dots that are on your home screen....you know the ones that tell you which one of your home screens you are in? They take up a lot of space and you can fit 4 more apps in its place.
Fix the button presses with a case.
Fix the homescreen indicators by getting a new launcher.

How do I get a new launcher. Right now Im running Denomination 4.1.1.Can I add a new launcher to that or do I need a new Rom? I still like how it slides to a new screen going left and right, just want to get rid of the white dots.
Yep. Just get one from the play store. I'm partial to Nova.

Wow, yea Nova is cool. Any idea why my weather widget is missing when I use the Nova launcher?
Not sure what weather widget that is because I haven't used TouchWiz in months. I personally use WeatherBug.
Nova is great. So many options. Free, too.
Ill give that one a try. The one that comes stock with the big clock numbers.....idk whatever. Thanks a lot for the help.

Apex launcher is worth trying.
|When Emotion Goes Up, Logic Goes Down|
Apex and Nova are about the same, but I like Apex better because of the infinite app drawer scrolling.
I can't figure out how you're holding your phone to be able to touch those buttons while typing - do you have either very large or very small hands ? If there's no software solution (I would wonder how that would implement since you need to be able to use the "back" key at any time while typing if you need to get rid of the keyboard when you're done - and there's no way for it to know if you're "done" unless perhaps there was a special on-screen key, but that seems like it would have to be built into the keyboard software itself), a case or using portrait view when typing might be a good idea.
Lol, I have normal sized hands. Its more the menu button then anything else. While texting, I hold the phone in the landscape position with both hands with my index fingers curled around the top corners. Sometimes the skin on my palm right below the index finger creeps over and barely touches the menu button. Its really annoying actually after typing a long message and losing the whole thing.

The same thing happened to me. Having a case on the phone acts as a buffer, you can't accidentally hit the buttons anymore. People still carry $600 phones around without a case?
No, I have a case, but its the one that slides into another case with the clip, I forgot what its called. Got it from tmobile when I bought this phone. I guess a different case woukd solve the problem, but I like my case, too bad.

Damn, I still cant get Apex or Nova to use my stock weather widget. Everything else is there except my cool weather widget.

Pen window gimmick

Why does the app not just open in a window when you click Pen Window? What's the point in making you draw a box that has no relation whatsoever to the size or shape of the window the app opens in?
It's really annoying how if you're using the tablet in portrait format, the app always opens in portrait format regardless of the shape of the box you draw. So you waste loads of space if you want to watch a landscape format video on youtube in the window...

I have kind of wondered about this as well. I think it's just an excuse to use the Pen for something else. It's still a nice feature, even if it doesn't quite work like you'd expect. I use it to keep Hangouts handy when I'm doing other things.
I agree the little windows are really useful, just annoying to have to draw a box to get them to open! Would be really good if they did open in the box that you drew though...
Maybe a firmware update...
Search for "pen window launcher" in the play store. It works really well for me

I noticed if you draw the box portrait the app will be portrait and if you draw a wide box, it will be open in landscape so there's that.

That's the thing though - it doesn't! It always opens in the same orientation as the tablet regardless of the shape you draw. So you can't open a landscape window when you've got the tablet in portrait....

Why draw the box then? Why not just click on the screen where you want it?

This is a classic, "We do it because it can." Wow your neighbor feature from Samsung Labs. Useless but interesting.
I've disabled air command now (so I can use the button function in lecturenotes without the air command popping up)
I use pen window launcher for the windows, button + long press for screenwrite, and button + double tap for action memo.
Don't use scrapbook or s-search...

[Q] Size of S pen window and media player for pen window

Is there a hack that enabled the pen window to be smaller? Currently It looks like the pen window takes at least 1/2 x 1/2 of the screen.
For a calculator, I would be happy to have a much smaller window.
A second, related question is about a media app that works well on the pen window. I'd like to easily be able to start/step/select music while reading a PDF.
(Reading notes while hearing the matching music). I'm using ES File explorer, but everything is much too small. It is hard to hit the right buttons. I'd like an app that displays nice big buttons in a small window. Does that exist?
Thanks a lot!
If I click the Spen on the screen and choose pen window I can draw the window any size I want.
My question is how can I add apps I might want to open in the pen window?

Strange. On my Note 10.1, no matter how small I try to draw the window, the smallest it can be is a quarter of the screen.

There's an app that can enable any apk for working in the window. It is called MW-PEN App Enabler. Look for a thread discussing it.
Thanks.....I'm stock 100%. If that makes a difference I don't know.....

I'm stock, too. rom version MK1. Can you make sure that the window can be as small as you want?
Is that for the original size of the window, or also for resizing? When I try to resize my window smaller than 1/4 of the screen, it stops
resizing, and the edges turn red (resize by dragging the corners/edges)
It looks like it depends on the app, 1/4 of the screen to bit smaller.....The pen app, mw pen will not work for me. Sounds like each tablet is a little different.....

The MW app is not totally trivial to get working.
First pick an installed app. Click 'Pen Window enable'. Then click process. Then click uninstall. Then click Install.
