I got phone today and updated to 3.2.4 and I'm unable to transfer files to my pc.
I can tranfer photos ok using PTP but when I choose file transfers from usb drop down menu, I keep getting the oneplus drivers install option but I have already installed them

Right Click on My Computer
Manage > Device Manage > (There is a Unknown Device or MTP Device With Warning Sign) Right Click on it,
Update Driver > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick a list...... > MTP USB Driver > Next and u r done

Dont have MPT USB Driver in the list,
Tried to update drivers from device manager and get error
"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered error while trying to install it"
I also get "A sevice installation section in this INF is invalid" and
"Third party INF does not contain digital signature information"
I tried uninstalling the drivers and install them again after downloading but error persists,
I'm trying this on windows 10 64bit

Finally got it working by uninstalling unknown device from device manager,
then scanning for hardware changes , then doing as you said
ie installing MTP usb driver from the let me pick list :good:

Had the same issue. Tried out different things, including Windows installs and stuff. But this worked like a charm, and did not need more than 30 seconds to do.

Hello my friend,
For me it doesn´t appear MTP USB driver, so is´s possible to send me that certificate to install manually in my computer?

The thing with windows 8.1 (atleast x64) is that they have changed the way adb drivers are recognized (or not recognized). You might have to:
1) In windows device manager find ADB Driver (or unrecognized hardware corresponding to the adb driver). Right click and select "update driver software".
2) Select "Browse my computer for driver software".
3) Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."
4) With "show compatible hardware" checkbox ticked, two drivers should be shown.
(a) Android ADB Interface. and (b) MTP User Device or Composite USB device.
5) Select (a) above and click Next.
6) Device should now appear.
Always good to use the default adb drivers from google for this. (https://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html)
Hi marcusflint, Sorry to ask the obvious but was USB debugging enabled in developer options?

Asus Zenfone 2 USB debugging Problem [HELP]

When I Try to connect My Zenfone to PC & also trying to connect on debugging mode then it show display that debugging section is totally disabled & showing message "Device is in Charging mode, USB debugging is disabled.

2nd Problem is Media Device Not showing in Mobile & PC Also.
PLZ HELP & GIVE ME PERFECT SOLUTION
I have same problem. After switching over in my car to charging only - my Zenfone is also saying "Device is in Charging mode, USB debugging is disabled" I can't find any switch to take it back. Also the same with Media Device not showing in Mobile & PC.
How to make this working again???
The PC connection mode on your phone is set to "Charge only". Idk about the stock ROM, but on CyanogenMod you just press the notification that shows up when you connect the phone to change the mode

Dear wasiq224,
Thanks for your answer, but is not working. I'm on CyanogenMod - but there is no notification shown up. Phone is quite and also PC - no message.
Even if I press under "STORAGE" -> "USB computer connection" the phone is saying: "USB is now disconnected". I checked already various menues for some settings without result. Google was also not help in this matter.

Try going to Developer Options>Disable USB Debugging, then reboot. Then connect your phone and try going to USB computer connection again, and enable whatever connection mode you want. You can re-enable USB debugging after that.
Dear wasip224
Checked once more the debugging setting's. But if the phone is connected to the computer or not connected, disableing USB Debugging is not possible. This item is greyed out all the time. See attached pictures.

I'm at work now, but you use Explorer and go to the folder where you extracted the drivers and use right-click --> properties in one of the files there. There is a tab that lists certificates. Just to be sure you can temporally disable driver signing verification.

This instructions works in windows 8.1 and 10.

Doesn't work for me, it says it cannot find the files. In my win10 install i have two problems, ADB only works if i disable driver signing verification and MTP doesn't work. I tried running sfc /scannow and it says WinUSB is corrupt and cannot be repaired (probably why MTP does not work). I tried using intel drivers for both and it does not work. Only ASUS works (but fails because of certificate) for ADB Composite Device, but mtp doesn't work anyway.
This tutorial could help you anyway.

Hi Kras and thank for the response!
I Tried it too but in my device manager it wont show any device related to asus nor adb.
Tryied to boot into TWRP but no MTP either.
I Tried USDBview but doesnt show. The strange fact is that the phone charges normally.
It happened after i switched to CHARGE ONLY... after that, could never go back "/
I think i´ll try to revert EVERYTHING to stock. Somethings not right.
Another information, the cellphone charges, i´ve tryied to unistall and reinstall every adb usb_driver but in driver manager, nothing appears, even an exclamation. Tried to force install drivers, nothing either. All this happened after set CHARGE MODE i´m so pissed off and frustrated
This is a shot in the dark, but in device manager you can click View>Show hidden devices.
From there you can truly uninstall all drivers, and then reboot and try reinstalling. Maybe this will help.
Also, different ports, different cables?
If it's just for file transfers have you also tried something like AirDroid or Dropbox/Google Drive/Mega?

Can't get Fastboot to work

Ok. I can't get fastboot to work. WIndows 10 laptop. Disabled driver verification. ADB works fine and reboots into bootloader but once in bootloader no fastboot. I've got an "Unknown Device" in Other Devices in Device manager and I've tried to assign the google driver manually but it's not recognized as a driver for the device
I've removed and reinstalled drivers pre and post driver verification
I tried adding PIxel C lines to the driver INF file as instructed on stack overflow
I don't know what else to try. And i've tried on two different computers???
Help please.. thanks
I fought with this for ages today. To start with, I have the Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit installed. Now, when in bootloader, go to the device manager on your computer. Find the Pixel ("Unknown Device") and right click > Properties > Driver tab > Update Drivers > Browse Computer > Choose From List > WugFresh Development\Nexus Root Toolkit\data\Drivers > and pick the one that says something about the bootloader. Sorry, going off memory here. Now you should be able to get that one installed, and Fastboot will start showing up when in the bootloader.

That's OK. No problem. Did you try the steps in post #5 above?
Which operating system are you on? What worked for me on Windows 10 was to give up after several days and use a Windows 7 computer. I read everything and tried everything and I could not get Fastboot working on this device with Windows 10. I used every toolkit, every driver version, toolkits that install multiple driver versions, Minimal ADB + Fastboot, and who knows what else. If a well-documented end-to-end solution to this ever appears I'll be really grateful.
FWIW, it was my frustrations with this Windows driver nonsense, that eventually drove me to abandon Windows entirely. Been on Ubuntu for several years. No regrets.

It's very annoying, there seems to be a few reasons it fails. Cable, 3.0 usb ports, windows 10 drivers. I get different results with different cables in different types of usb ports. Also switching to PTP seems to work using a usb 2.0 port with a standard usb 2.0 A to micro with a micro to c adapter. Charging and MTP fail, but at least ADB and Fastboot respond.
I am going to try to edit the win10 driver using this post as reference.

I came to the same conclusion, but after a reboot it was unrecognized again.
Only way I can it to stick is installing the 2nd option drivers via skipsoft toolkit. Connect pixel c via 2.0 port and cable to PC. Switch to ptp. Then manually force install driver choosing have disk using bootloader option. From then on it works using ptp.
What I am able to see using USB Device Tree Viewer, is that when I plug in my Pixel C to my ASUS Z97-A blue usb ports with USB debugging enabled, it can not identify it. Those ports use Microsoft Windows 10 drivers for the Intel USB 3.0 eXensible Host Controller - 1.0. Which is what is causing the failure, not the Pixel C drivers. When I updated my other green USB ports driver, windows used the same ones on my ASMedia USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller and also couldn't recognize the Pixel C any longer. I rolled back to ASMedia drivers, it worked fine. Updated using newer ASMedia drivers 4/11/2016 ver 1.16.35.1 and those work fine. Now to find working drivers for the Inter Host. Win7 drivers refuse to load.
UPDATE: If your bios allows, disable xHCI. Your USB ports will work as USB 2.0 but will detect your PIXEL C without issues.
Solution works 100%
If you've installed the SDK drivers and win10 can detect your Pixel C in every mode with usb debugging off. Use these win10 USB xHCi drivers,

Fix for MTP problems with 8.1 official and Windows

After OTA from 8.00 to offcial 8.1.0 I ran into MTP problems, device not recognized by windows 10(x64)
After searching on Google I found a few options but this one works for me:
- Go to Settings->Apps & notifications->App info->Tap 3 dots in top right corner->Tap 'Show system'.
- Find both 'External storage' and 'Media storage' apps in the list and clear cache and data for them.
- Restart your phone and let it settle (wait a minute or two) before connecting the phone to your PC.
- The phone now shows the 'USB connected for charging' notification again, tap that notification and select file transfer.

No luck for me... any other workaround?
The same situation, in android 8.0 no problem, 8.1 and windows 10 x64, no MTP working...
I experienced the same problem. What I did was:
1. Search for device manager and open that up.
2. Go to portable devices
3. Click and right click on MTP(?) and select update driver
4. Click "Browse my computer for driver software"
5. Click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer"
6. Manufacturer should be on (Standard MTP Devices) and Model should be MTP Devices
7. Click Next and click Yes.
Only thing is it's temporary. But you can do it again and pretty much get used to it in no time

I have done completed in Windows XP.
You can read the topic: http://eclipse4u.blogspot.com/2014/12/solved-how-to-install-mtp-driver-to.html
Code:
If your device is not identified by Microsoft OS, then you need to use specific VID & PID for identification. When you connect your Redmi 1s through USB to your Windows XP PC/Laptop,a window prompts for installing MTP device.Until and unless you install MTP driver you can't access Redmi 1S's internal 8GM memory. To install it then you need to edit wpdmtp.inf file and to do that follow the following steps:
Right My computer-->Click Properties-->Click Hardware tab (in System Properties window)-->Click Device Manager
There you will notice the MTP device with yellow coloured question mark under Other devices.Right click MTP device-->Click Properties-->Click Details tab.
There you will notice VID & PID line below Device Instance Id-->Copy that line by left click the line to select and then Ctrl + C using keyboard-->Paste onto a text nod pad-->Remove everything after MI_00 and let the text be like it.
Go to Start-->Run-->type C:\WINDOWS\inf\wpdmtp.inf (it will open the wpdmtp.inf file)
Now search for the below lines
;Device is identified by Microsoft OS descriptor
;If your device does not support it, use specific VID & PID for identification
;
[Generic.NTx86]
%GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\MS_COMP_MTP
[Generic.NTamd64]
%GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\MS_COMP_MTP
Below %GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\MS_COMP_MTP exist under both [generic.NTx86] and [generic.NTamd64] , you need to paste the following line :
%GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, your earlier Copied Device Instance ID in note pad in step 3.
After pasting that it will look like this
[Generic.NTx86]
%GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\MS_COMP_MTP
%GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\VID_2717&PID_1260&MI_00
[Generic.NTamd64]
%GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\MS_COMP_MTP
%GenericMTP.DeviceDesc%=MTP, USB\VID_2717&PID_1260&MI_00
7. Save the file. And then go ahead to install your MTP drivers by right clicking the MTP device in Device driver list.
Enjoy with your Redmi 1S.

Go to Device manager - >Right click on the MTP device -> update driver -> browse my pc -> let me pick... -> Portable Devices -> select (standard MTP device) in Manufacturer and select MTP USB device in Model.
Finally Click Ok

I told that it had worked and still works, but I have to do this everytime I have to transfer files. Is there any permanent way for this.
Windows 7 here, PC Suite can't install drivers. Picking suggested MTP USB Device gives Error 10 and still no connection to the phone.
Any other way?
