Snapdragon camera for Nexus 5x? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if there was anyone willing and able to compile a snapdragon of room for our version 5x. It could be very interesting!

[Q] multirom?

I've been successfully built multirom for note pro and tab pro 12.2
It's not difficult to port it to tab s
do you need multirom for your tab?
We would love you forever and ever and ever! Multirom is fantastic! Been using it on my Nexus 5 since it was created.

What is mulitom? I have 705
Yes!
I'm waiting this to buy this tablet (T705)!
By the way, having a Note 2 I'm following what's happening for this phone. Basically MultiROM there works well for each "AOSP" Rom, but has still problem if you want a Touchwiz ROM as primary and other AOSP as secondary.
Does your porting work well in such scenario? Of course, on tabs where it already works

I'm using touchwiz rom as primary and cm as additional in p900. As our tabs have the same platform, I dont think it will be any using limitations.
Now I have only one noticable issue - touchscreen doesn't work in bott menu, but I hope it will be resolved later.

ps: I have already fixed all bugs which I found. If none of serious issues will be found, I'll build multirom for rest tabs by next weekend.
that will be great if t705 has cm 11 rom but we don't have one

Kernel sources for the M2

Does anyone know if huawei have released the kernel source code for the mediapad m2? I would like to start a port of cyanogenmod to it.

Would be great ... I think the hw is okay but the original sw is ....
I've sent huawei a kind email reminder that the kernel sources need to be published . Let's see if I get an answer at all. Having CM on the M2 would be a great thing
You guys never even bothered to just go to Huawei's website and looking for downloads? The kernel is right there at the bottom of http://m.huawei.com/enmobile/consumer/tablets/detail/mediapad-m2-en.htm , just select the Downloads-tab. It has been there for months by now.
You won't believe how many sites I've been through to find the kernel. That one I never went to. Thanks again for the link!
[edit]
Well... it's not really the kernel I was looking for. It's for the M2 10". It has additional fingerprint reader, bigger screen, etc. If you do the same for the M2 10 inch variant, you get "No results found" in the download section.
After finding the right person to contact, they said the kernel sources should be available as of 12th September 2016. Let's see if that happens. I'll update this thread when I get the sources.
Wow, this would be awesome! I am wondering why such a great device has no additional ROMs.

Those are for the M2-8 variant. The M2-10 has more hardware (stylus). Would be really keen on getting the board config for the 10-inch variant
They finally put up the source code for the M2 10-inch variants!! Even for both flavours (M2-A01L and M2-A01w)!

Lineage 14 for Galaxy Nexus

Any chance of getting Lineage 14 for the Galaxy Nexus or is the phone too slow and RAM memory too limited for this version of Android?
Any developer is allowed to build Lineage using the work done on Unlegacy. But this is hard work and everyone here is a volunteer. Unless you know someone who can help, the best you can do right now is running Unlegacy. I don't know if there is any developer who will take a donation from you as a bounty to get if working, but you could message them to ask.
This thread is technically off topic for the development forum
there is a lineage os rom for galaxy s2 i9100, maybe someone could port it to our device, galaxy nexus has similar amount odf ram and cpu compared to s2

There is also Unlegacy 7.1.1 for our GNex (that ROM was, in fact, my introduction to N on ANY hardware). So why am I not running it now? Simple enough - PureNexus 7.1.1 includes both the Pixel Launcher AND Google Assistant (which can be run together or separately; I run them as a tag-team). At some point, I hope to ambush some unsuspecting Pixel or PixelXL owner with my GNEX.

No idea - it is included WITH the 7.1.x ROMs (both 7.1.0 and 7.1.1). There are ways to add it to 6.x (or even 5.x) - still, I like 7.1.x because it actually feels more *whole* with both PL and Google Assistant in place - which is why I am still hoping to find a Pixel/XL owner to ambush here in VZW turf.

I think that it is better to have threads if people with various problems can help solve the problem.
He will be welcome if it is a thread for that.
If problem solving is possible, he will post for that.lol
Just remain patient.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus (i9250, "maguro") is pretty similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3 (i9300), which already got LineageOS nightly. They're very similar phones when it comes to features and exterior. Both have 720p AMOLED screens, front-facing and rear-facing cameras, approximation sensors, light meter, earpiece, microphones, headphone jack in exactly the same places. Both feature 1 GB RAM and 16 GB eMMC. Both have HSPA+, but no LTE. They're also just half a year apart concerning their age (December 2011 vs. May 2012). They both feature an ARM Cortex A9 processor, though they utilize different SoCs (GNex = TI OMAP 4460, S3 = Samsung Exynos 4412).
The G-Nex seems to have a larger user base than the G-S3.

What's next? SP or Oreo?

Are there any release notes for may security patch?
I hope we will receive oreo next..
Personally I think Oreo will come perhaps 1-2 months after the G6 launch.
I still see Motorola using the Android 7 v 8 comparison between the phones as a marketing ploy.

The Galaxy Nexus got an 8.1 port so I doubt they would give up on the g5 phones
Consider this:
On how Oreo 8 works vs current 7 so it's a biggie https://www.androidpolice.com/2017/...-will-modularize-android-make-updates-faster/.
Moto G5 Plus will not support project treble

Oreo != Treble. We won't get treble.
Lenovo screwed us over, stock-ish Android but no major updates or improvements other than security patches. I will never buy another one of their phones again that's for sure. Next device will probably be a Android One device like the Nokia 7 Plus.
