Hi. I just had this problem and it is quite annoying. My mobile data is on and it shows connected but on the status bar there is no indicator if I am already connected. Please help me.

It seems that once you're subscribed to a surfing promo or you have a consumeable data or you're using regualr load, that's the only time data connection icons appear. If you're using free Facebook, it won't. Weird implementation of LG but it seems how it is. Globe user here as well.

As an default Android option, when mobile data enabled, if it can connect (fetch&send) with google servers, the indicator will be shown, else it won't. You're on free Facebook, that only allows you to only going Facebook, it can't detects any connection with Google servers, so yeah

Look at this screenshot. It's from Temasek's CM-13. As you can understand, in custom roms, this option can be changed. But not on AOSP and based on AOSP roms (Like Sense, LG UI, Touchwiz. Literally, on vendor roms.).
Turn off the phone remove sim insert some other sim turn on mobile data and see whether its working...if its workin now Insert the old sim in other port which is obviously 2G... And then Interchange it

I was having this problem for the first day or two. I simply turned off mobile data for awhile and then turned it back on a few hours later and it only pops up now when receiving or sending an MMS (or when I leave the wifi signal, of course). Not sure if that's the fix or just a fluke.

This is across all phones I've used from time to time nothing to be concerned about it'll go away with time with no action on your behalf.

I figured out that its verizon's stupid CallerID app. It needs mobile data on to analyze incoming calls. It's not used, but its on. I disabled callerID and its not there anymore
I also thought it was the CallerID app and disabled it. However the issue re-occurs whenever I open the My Verizon Mobile app to work with my account. I tested it though by streaming some music for a while then checking my phones data usage in settings and it's not actually using mobile data.
My uncle's did the same thing when using Facebook app and then turning on wifi. Haven't had a chance to test his yet, but I'm pretty sure it's the same issue. Still, it's an annoying problem, especially when you get phone calls from the fam wondering why their phone's using 4g when on wifi
When my 4G won't turn off I just restart the phone and it does the trick. Doesn't happen very often for me though.

The icon on mine used to be white when either I didn't have enough storage (And got the notification) or background data wasn't enabled. Also it occasionally happens. When it's white you also don't receive push notifications.
I think white means it is connected to the server but there is currently no bandwidth activity, meaning no uploads and downloads running at the moment. On the other hand, blue means either an upload or a download is running.
Thnx all. I managed to fix it. I reflashed and upgraded to 3.0 and works like a charm.

XDA-Premier App Not Connecting . when i install and try to connect says contact the administrator. i try installing Xda-Premier app and tap talk app as well please help. i tried from tap talk. and all its not connecting at all.
The message i am getting is

yes with wifi and mobile network after installing if you restart the phone then it works and then after viewing the treat if you close you cant view again. i am from UK.
Was there ever a solution for this? The app has done this to me on 4 dofferent phones now, wifi or mobile network (sprint for all), on touchwiz, aosp, kitkat lollipop etc etc. Its still happening on my brand new g4. I can hit the refresh button a few times and eventually connect, but its kinda annoying and i did pay for the app...

Check the location settings. The gps was disabled on mine by default so it was only using cell towers to provide location.
High precision, activated... Having issues there is anyway to calibrate it? Im crying, sold my S5 for this new G3..

Call T-Mobile and see if they can tell you what to do. I know you can go into the special settings by entering a code in the dialer, but I forgot what it was.

Went to mobile network and switched to CDMA/LTE + evdo and I do have 4g LTE that sticks

Edit: hadto switch to gsm LTE and it worked for a minute doing it the other way doesn allow text or call just internet

Also after retrying the method I noticed that to access these settings in under mobile networks you MUST BE IN GLOBAL MODE

4G LTE sticks in that mode, but you switched to CDMA, that means you can't make any phone calls anymore. So not really a fix. I switch to this mode sometimes when I will be surfing for an hour or more (e.g. on the bus) and want to have max speed, but then you need make sure to switch back or I won't receive phone calls.
Yeah noticed this pretty quick lol I was upset about that
