Does LG release any security patches at all unless you flash an entire ROM? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I only got my security updates when I flash to a new ROM myself. Am I not supposed to get security patches through OTA between Android version updates, or does LG just not bother doing that? I'm on an unlocked(not locked to a carrier) H815 in Sweden.

If you goto about phone and select check for update and it says your device is fully updated then there is no update
Updates are rolled out in phases based on phone variant, region, network branded or retail
Members of xda do not know when an update is coming so its pointless in asking
If its not available when you press check for updates then assume its not available yet
And please stop creating threads about updates - theres one already in the general section - we do not need loads of threads about updates

LG H815 Latest Security Patch

Dear all,
I was wondering what the latest LG G4 H815 security patch is? My phone's latest security patch is the 2016-07-01 patch, and I was wondering if this is normal.
I've got a slightly later version 2016-09-01 but still well out of date. Make sure & send an email to [email protected] to ask why, I do every few months just to show people care.
I think that this beta nougat have newest security patch for g4 h815.
V29 have 2017-07-01 security patch.

[OTA] NPN25.137-35 - April 2018

Hello all,
Have an unlocked rooted Moto G5 Plus here on T-Mobile currently running stock NPN25.137-33 (Nougat 7.0 - January 1, 2018 security patch) and I just received this update notification for a VoLTE fix named NPN25.137-35. It's relatively small (~48mb) , here's hoping one of the more experienced devs can incorporate this into their Nougat ROM's moving forward and also hopefully make a TWRP flashable zip for those of us who just want to upgrade their stock rooted roms.
Cheers!

My system info (pre-patch, of course):
If I flash this I will get my IMEI back or no? I didn't understand sir????
A little confused by this as well, your screenshot is showing January 2017 security patch and your ota is an old one. Are you just now getting this update through TMobile? Glad I bought the unlocked version if that's the case

Just wanted to contribute in case this OTA wasn't already out there (couldn't find it in my searches). I know that the current stock ROM version is 93-4 with the March security patch being pushed out to some regions...wanted to share the patch in case it wasn't pushed to other carrier versions so that it could help add robustness to existing Nougat ROMS, especially for VoLTE TMO users.
Wait.. this is a very old update.. the newer updates have NPNS instead of NPN
Edit: just read your comment, ignore this

LG G7+ThinQ Firmware related Questions?

I'm still having July update in my LG G7+ThinQ... Is that the latest version?
July is the latest patch for "World"-models, T-Mobile(USA) have September and in Korea they have also September but even newer firmware. World looks to have less priority according to LG.

LMG710EMW HKG version 10g update

Can anyone tell me what is the security patch version in the 10g update of HKG or MIA variants
Android security patch level: April 1, 2019
V10g-HKG-XX
This is something I don't understand about the LG patching cycle: some firmwares remain *forever* in an old release letter (like v10a), but are regularly updated with security patches... Does that mean they don't get any newer features at all, just the patches? It doesn't make much sense for me: since you are patching stuff, why not update the rest?

Nope. Series is just region specific and mostly has nothing to do with features. Though there are certain region specific features like lg pay (korean exclusive), most of the features are standard

But, for instance, for my region/country, we have branded (carrier) firmwares which are *always* at v10a, even though they get security updates, and unbranded firmwares which have the letter incremented with each release (currently at v10e).
Meanwhile, there is a firmware for India already in v10t (unbranded). This weird pattern also happens for other countries. It doesn't make sense and doesn't appear to be region-specific.
