Verizon not selling note 7 ? - Verizon Note 7 Questions & Answers

Is it true Verizon not selling note 7 after recall is complete?

I think so that's what the rep said when I went into the store but tried to recant when the mananger came out and tried to pursaude me to get the s7edge until it comes back in which I don't think it will ...cause he clearly said we're not selling it anymore at all
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They're not selling it til the phone is fixed. They haven't stopped forever.

I just talked to a Verizon rep, for what it's worth, who did not think Verizon would continue to handle the Note 7 after replacing the recalled ones. I could picture it going either way, and wonder if Samsung might release a very fast next model to get out from under the stigma. I'm just waiting for my local store to get the new ones in to exchange mine, but not sure how I'll feel if we see a Note 8 in a few months.

I know when i talked to Verizon about the pay off on the edge program. He told me that on Samsung's flagship phones you can upgrade every year when the phone ia released and Samsung picks up the balance of the previous generation phone your turning in. So if they jump to note 8 earlier then next year this time, that's fine with me ill just get it

I have never heard of this... Didn't happen when I went from Note 5 to Note 7. Is this a real thing now? Much like Apple's program? This would be big news.

On Verizon anyways yes, there is a handful of devices that qualify for a 12 month upgrade swap like the old edge program was. Pretty much only top tier Samsung phones and iPhones qualify. There's like only 5 handsets that get the exemption. It's been this way since spring. They also give you an extra 2gb data per month per device....

I just purchased one on the Verizonwireless website. I had to get creative to find the order form, but it says it's shipping out to be here at 10:30AM on 9/21 (to my house). Shop --> Samsung --> click on the Note 7 buy link before it disappears.

Well I guess that's answered. They are such scum. We all sit here with fire balls and they have the nerve to sell to new customers?

I checked, and they said the Note 7 is in stock and shipping today.
Available now the new Galaxy Note7. The Galaxy Note7 was previously recalled on September 9th by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) due to an issue with the device's battery. This new Galaxy Note7 has been approved by the (CPSC) for all purchases and exchanges.

Note 7 BOGO

Do you think they will actually offer the buy one get one promotion for the Note 7? Leakster Evan Blass said they would.

Not until sales slow down, I don't think sales will be as good as the s7 and edge
Friend/manager at t-mobile said he was given an outline for three months and they didn't mention anything of the sort for the note7. Im stumped.
ATT is doing this right now, not sure if its for new customers or just for buying a Note 7. The wife and I just did this yesterday, we are leaving tmobile and doing the direct tv to get the unlimited data. ATT is not advertising this deal for some reason but if you go to a store they will fill you in.
So far Target seems to have the best deal. Buy N7 get $200 if you trade in any working device, $100 gift card and a free gear device.

I'm very confident once iPhone 7 will be released or right before we will see all the BOGO deals for note 7. Knowing Samsung and how competitive they get.
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Last time on the S7 release we didn't find out about the BOGO deal until right after the phone was released. People who pre ordered were not happy but I remember someone saying on XDA that he went back to the store with his phone that he pre ordered and they let him get the BOGO deal.
I want to pre order and get the SD card but i don't want to miss out on the BOGO. But if they don't have the BOGO I'll miss out on the SD card too.

Does your friend at T-Mobile always know about these deals ahead of time? At the T-Mobile store an associate told me that they only find out about the deals the day before. But he was just an associate. Ask your friend if there is a chance of a deal that they are not yet telling him. I imagine they would want to keep that as secret as possible because if everyone knew they are having a BOGO deal after launch I'm sure that would hurt pre-order sales.

That makes a lot of sense. The iPhone is supposed to launch in September and the Note 7 Launches in late August so it would make sense for them to offer the BOGO right after launch or within a couple weeks after.
I got a pair of Note 7s BOGO. T-Mobile dropped the ball and is making it up to me.
I highly doubt we will see a BOGO deal anytime soon. Especially with how well pre-order sales have been doing. Unless they start slowing down on sales, and if the iPhone 7 is something amazing to compete with, then maybe we will see a good deal. Otherwise, if sales are consistently hi and the iPhone 7 happens to be a flop, Samsung will pick up all the converters moving from iOS to Android.

I spoke to the head of loyalty and was informed there was a one day BOGO event on THE NOTE 7. He was able to get me a BOGO deal for some mess ups on my acct.

I know which event you are talking about because I got my s7 edge on BOGO as well. Could have got a tablet as well today, I'll see if it's worth the extra $10×24 commitment.
10 X 24 is only $240.... I'm sure you could easily sell a note 7 for $600..... A freebie is free $.
I got one note for free. The tablet was free with a 24×$10 commitment, sorry for the confusion.
Dayum... that sounds even better

I can confirm, I was this close -----> | | <------ to doing it with the same Direct TV/unlimited data on 4 lines deal. I had 2 note 7's and 2 iPhone 6s's on BOGO, and would've had to pay the taxes had I signed up.
But I didn't. So there's that.

Am I able to cancel my order?

Hello all,
I have been thinking for the past week if I actually want the Note 7, with all these issues popping up(not including the battery). I ordered from Samsung directly, and it was a preorder. It never got shipped out because of the recall, and I was hoping I could cancel it.
I don't know what phone I was going to switch to, but I don't care for it and it's issues.
Hopefully I will get a timely refund a long with it as well.
If you'd actually gotten phone in hand, you'd probably feel different. I was going to take mine in today, but I just couldn't bear to part with it. Maybe tomorrow.

I know I returned my yesterday to my carrier. I miss is badly. This One plus 3 is fast but just not the same. I'm gonna get an Exynos version when they're available again.
Went into tmobile today and the only loaner they would offer was a J7. No thanks. Guess I'll keep my Note 7 until they pry it from my charred remains.

Call T-Mobile at 1-844-275-9309. They will ship you an S7 or S7 edge overnight as a loaner. They instructed me to keep the Note 7 in a safe place and powered off and thet would follow up with an email on how to return the phone. The CSR said that they do not have a time frame as to when the replacements would be available and said that I may just keep the phone and return both the loaner and Note 7 when I exchange it for the new phone.
I called regular Customer service and they told me ro go to the store. Probably because they were offering cheaper phones in store. I got the toll free number from the following link:
https://explore.t-mobile.com/samsung-galaxy-note7-recall?cmpid=CRM_EM_SMSNGGLXYN_BI0WY9IUAL19613
They told me that when the replacements come in, I have the option to keep the loaner or exchange it for the new phone.
Thanks Sirdragonx! I was hoping to make an exchange today, my Note 7 is actually running uncomfortably hot. I should start carrying a fire extinguisher.
Once I got connected to business support, they quickly arranged to send an S7 Edge to tide me over. With any luck it will arrive tomorrow.
I'm hopeful they make a sweetheart deal on the S7 Edge after the loaner period, so I can use it to upgrade another line on my account.

Refund for Note 7

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to give some information out to everyone in regards to the Note 7. With the latest news involving the replacement Note 7s having battery issues, Samsung and all carriers have stopped the exchange of the Note 7. Depending on the carrier, they will either let you exchange your phone for another device(S7, iphone, etc.) or a full refund. Wherever you bought your Note 7 is where you will go to do the exchange or refund. If you bought it on the Verizon website, then go to a corporate store. If you have purchased your phone through a third party(ebay, swappa) Samsung will refund you for the Note 7. I literally just got off the phone with Samsung. I purchased my phone through Swappa and I asked the Samsung rep on how to get a refund since I purchased from a third party. The representative asked for my name, address, and IMEI number of the device. Then the representative asked what third party and directed me to someone else to initiate the refund. Once I got with the other person, he told me that they will be sending me a box with a prepaid label and told me to put the phone and all accessories in the box and mail it back out. He said once the company receives the phone, it will take 10 to 14 days to receive a check for the refund. He told me if you happen to have the receipt of the phone, put it in the box and they will refund you that amount. If you dont, they will give you the MSRP of the phone based off of what your carrier is selling it as. I told the guy that I didn't have the receipt obviously since I bought it from Swappa and the seller didn't have it and he told me that I would be getting the refund of $864 since that is the MSRP of the phone through Verizon. Just thought I would share my experience to everyone who may be in the same boat as me as I will never buy from a third party (Swappa) again.

Just a helpful message to those dealing with Verizon. I successfully did an exchange for the iPhone 7 + today and they tried to charge me a $20 per line upgrade fee for each Note 7 I exchanged. Your situation may be different but I did not upgrade to the note 7 originally, I was a new customer purchasing the Note 7 but there is no way they should be charging anyone a fee in this situation. The guy on the phone just said it was all sales tax, it wasn't until I received email confirmation of my order that I noticed there was sales tax + upgrade fees.

My theory probable?

So after talking with a lady from level on customer service support via phone I have a theory to how this is going to play out. Verizon nor Samsung has put out a definite date for returning your phone but just to do it as quick as possible. Now my theory is if I wait for Samsung to declare the phone as a force recall they will give you the option to trade in for a 7 edge with the option for instant upgrade when the note 8 or 8/8edge to come out. Does that sound probable to anyone else or should I trade in the phone for a 7 edge and risk being stuck with it until next upgrade period comes.
Your upgrade is available now. Check your account online, it seems that everyone is eligible for an upgrade since this morning.

I understand that and since that change has been made to my account I called in to find the details of this. I am not theorizing the upgrade I am theorizing the issue of getting a sub par phone to the note 7 and being stuck with it till my edge plan is paid off. Thanks for the response though...
I called in and asked if I upgrade now to a Pixel XL can I keep my 12 annual upgrade status that came with the Note 7. They said no. They also said I can't get the 300 credit for trade in because they don't consider a phone that may blow up at any time to be "in good working order".
Basically they don't know.

I agree with the OP though. Officially Verizon told me today there is no official recall yet. They made us "upgrade eligible" now to expedite exchanges. You can upgrade now but doing so automatically issues a return shipping package for the Note 7. Don't return it, get billed for it.
But.... If we wait for the official Samsung release we might get tickets to be first in line for the Note 8. Therein lies the conundrum for me. If I upgrade to the Pixel XL today I am stuck in another 2 year device agreement. So even if I had the chance I couldn't jump on a Note 8.
Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk
I talked to my local Verizon store today, they told me if Samsung will issue directive to allow Note 7 buyers to update to the Note 8 lets say, from any other phone is no problem, even in like a month after purchase, however if Samsung does not then, must follow corporate policy.
I fortunately do not fly, so I will be keeping my Note 7 and hopefully like said above getting some perk to exchange for s7e temporarily or Note 8 or whatever it is. I installed a temp monitor app, that has a pretty decent alarm sound, set that to 96F and will just use common sense when charging and not really leave it unattended anywhere (esp in the car) to cause a problem, perfect, no, but nothing else out there really is all that good, especially after having this Note 7 for a bit.
My intent is to keep the Note7 until the Note8 is available to order. I cannot see Verizon ending the Upgrade Available button in my account. I will continue to make my monthly payments on the Note7 and fully expect to be Upgrade Eligible when the Note8 is offered for sale.
Only other option is to downgrade to Note5. Not a terrible choice but not a great one either.

Has anyone received their replacement handset from Samsung???

Has anyone received their replacement handset from Samsung??? the reason I ask this, is I spoke to Samsung just over a week ago and went for the S7edge option and nothing has arrived so I rang just now and was told it will take another 4-5 weeks until I receive it as they need word from their warehouse first .......this is a disgusting way to treat Note 7 customers....this was Samsung Australia

The consultant I spoke too, told me I have to wait
I received my replacement on 10th Oct, but, I called samsung today, and they tell me that no more support for note7, since it is officially discontinued, and that they will deactivate them in 2 weeks..... at least in Mexico, I am very sad, There is no other phone that I like, The S7 is fine, but in a short time there will be the new S8, so, I am at a loss

You spoke to someone at Samsung and you were told they plan to deactivate them in the next 2 weeks, is that correct? That's what you were told?

Has anyone received their replacement handset from Samsung??? the reason I ask this, is I spoke to Samsung just over a week ago and went for the S7edge option and nothing has arrived so I rang just now and was told it will take another 4-5 weeks until I receive it as they need word from their warehouse first .......this is a disgusting way to treat Note 7 customers....this was Samsung Australia

That is totally unacceptable. You MUST not tolerate this sort of attitude. I suggest you seek free legal help through one of your countries consumer protection agencies. Samsung have a glut of S7's and considering the media and attitude shown to Note 7 owners I would expect Samsung to be bending over backwards to maintain customers not causing them further grief by messing them about replacing what has been their ****-up.
Clearly Samsung Korea is NOT enforcing its will on the local country wide importers. My Samsung head office here is just incredible. I refuse to let them put me off Samsung but its bloody hard work! I don't want to cut my nose of to spite my face. Samsung need to get their global house in order and fast.
Do not accept this behaviour under any circumstances. Keep us posted how you progress. :good:

PS. Every time you contact Samsung get the name of the person you speak to and make notes. It is also a very good idea to start writing letters to Samsung and send them recorded delivery. Phone calls can be denied letters are a solid proof of contact when sent by recorded mail. ALWAYS ask to speak to a manager when you call your local Samsung importer, again get their name.
Sounds like it's just less cumbersome to get a refund than to bother with the S7.

I agree 100% but others may well want the S7 or cannot change contracts etc? I am learning here it is complicated for some for a variety of reasons.

I started a thread awhile back. I have not received my s7 edge replacement yet. I ordered it on the 13th. Says it will ship in 2-3 business days. I haven't received any order or shipping confirmation. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3479656
Sent from my Galaxy Note 7.
I just came back from my carrier office, there I talked with te manager, and told me that I can use my note 7, without worrying about blocking or dissabling, in Mexico, as no government instructions to do such, And that the warranty will be kept as normal, in that event, replacement with other model would be the remedy, and, that I can go for replacement for other model at any time within the warranty period if no longer want the note, I am satisfied with this, even though many will say that it is dangerous, But, in my experience, I have had other devices with similar problems so, I am not overly scared

Here in Singapore, Samsung SG is only offering an exchange for the S7 Edge with SGD$250 (approx. USD$178) or a full retail refund of SGD$1168. That's roughly US$835.
Unless you're a true diehard or the S7 Edge appeals to you, the full refund makes more sense. If I took the S7 Edge and sold it to a shop, it doesn't match the value of the Note 7 refund.
So now with the full refund, I can go ahead and purchase the upcoming LG V20 and still have some spare cash for a pre-owned Note 4 for my mom.
Worth noting, all phones here are unlocked. So the carriers are not involved in the exchange or refund programme. This is entirely with Samsung.

I also went for a refund. Bought a Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 as my second mobile and will save the cash until march when the new series is available. I cannot find a replacement for the Note 7 so I have put myself on a diet of self control until March.

I got my replacement oct 15, but then less than a week later I get a call saying there has been a second recall and that my options were to either get a full refund or exchange with s7 edge (with the difference being paid via check). either way, I still have to go back to the store at least twice. first to return the note 7 and second to get the check (either for the full refund or for price difference between s7 edge and note 7). they say check processing will take around 3 days
this week I got another call saying I can now drop by anytime between now and Nov 17 to either replace or refund (they didn't specify exactly if the s7 edge is available right away but from my understanding of our conversation it should be replaced right away just like the first recall when I dropped by)

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge plus. Very good mobile. If I wasn't a techno junkie I would keep it for several years. I have only one reason to change it and that's because I now need the S-pen again. I have taken a look at the Note 4 BUT it's silly money for a three year old mobile. Can't get the Note 5 here in Europe.
The SG A5 2016 is a very VERY nice mobile, superbly crafted in fact one cant tell the difference in quality between the A5 and the Note 7. Function wise they are, of course, chalk and cheese.

Recieved the S7 edge today and I will send it back. It's nothing like the note 7. Old ui. Less memory aso.

Funny thing, the Note 7 S Pen works on the Note 4. Guess I'll be confiscating that before I seek my refund.
