Not able to Add APN for use with other networks - Sprint LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi Guys,
I have got SIM unlocked for my Sprint LG G5. Now whenever I try adding a new APN (to use with other network), it doesn't save..
(I have the MSL Code but even in ##3282# and enabled roaming.. No option to edit APN out there..)
Any solution would be highly appreciated..

It should be inside networks settings then APNs ( be sure to put 'default' in APN Type blank, i dont use ##3282# because at least for me it doesn't work for creating APNs
Enviado desde mi LGLS992 mediante Tapatalk

I'm doing that.. I went to networks.. Tried to add apn.. Used apn type as "Default".
But still it doesn't save.. As a result what's app and other such apps are not working on mobile data for me..

Yes, please help us Guys!

Anyone here who can help?

edit apn
Here what I found on another forum
APN edit/save issue finally solved on firmare ZV5.
On the phone enter ##786#, enter SPC/MSL
After the reset, re-unlock and the APN edit/save finally was available under Settings > More > Mobile Networks > APN
The only one problem is how to obtain SPC/MSL code?

How did you unlock your G5 after you did the reset? What firmware are you on?

ZV5 and i had to pay someone
Enviado desde mi LGLS992 mediante Tapatalk

Once your G5 was unlocked, we're you able to change your APN settings? I got mine unlocked but have no data access because I'm unable to change the APN settings.

Yes but i did what this post said, changed my msl to 000000 then did a reset and unlocked again
Enviado desde mi LGLS992 mediante Tapatalk

So you'd have to pay to have it unlocked again after the reset since you'll lose the unlock?

Yes

Can't Add APN
I've tried all suggested methods to add APN on unlocked Sprint LS992 but to no avail (no options to add apn). Able to send texts and make calls but not data. When I enter settings>mobile networks>apn settings, there are no options to add apn. It just shows greyed out otasn. Anyone else come across this and if so, how did you solve the problem?

No Service - HELP!

A friend has given me a Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7105 to root and change roms, I have put a few custom roms on it and rooted it, but I cannot get it to connect to any network. It didnt connected before I did any of this. I put a new o2 sim in it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do now to get it to connect to o2.
I'm downloading a stock rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032849 uk vodaphone, so im going to try that when it finishes.

I'm not sure what was done to the phone before it was given to me to sort out, but I can only imagine what pain this phone suffered in her hands of installing any rom on it with words galaxy note 2 in the title.

Yes the IMEI number is the same as the one under the battery, my baseband version is N7105XXDMD1, I tried a couple of stock roms using odin, I am now connected to the o2 network, and I have full signal. However I still have the same error when I try and make a call it says mobile network not available. Im at a loss now as to what to try next. I also tried flashing a few UK modems, none of them made any different apart from turning my baseband version to unknown. Any help would be much appreciated. Im thinking maybe instead of flashing to the latest stock rom, maybe I should look for the oldest one and let it do OTA updates. Does anyone have a link to a default or old stock rom for this phone ? Or know how to fix this problem?
I found a post here which looked promising but it does not support this phone

Anyone? Surely someone must know how to fix this.

AFAIK, all the N7105's currently in the UK are from either EE or 3, and are almost certainly network locked to them. If the device has been flashed with a generic ROM without being SIM unlocked, that could be the root of the problem.

I tried this method
Just dial the following keys *#197328640#
Main Menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > (after choosing this option, wait about 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select Back, now you are in [6] Network Lock then choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ ..... wait for a minute then reboot your phone... enjoy!!!
but never see an option of NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ

unfortunately the phone is showing as unsupported i tried looking for other similar apps but couldn't see one for this phone ], I dont suppose you know of any others, or maybe one that will tell me if its locked, or if it is locked what network its locked to, so i can get a sim for that network
I wonder if there is any mileage in doing a manual search for mobile networks to see if any of them show up?

Need help unlocking LG G2 LS980 flashed to boost mobile.

Hey, I just need someone to point me to the right direction.
I bought my LG G2 off ebay last year, it came flashed to boost mobile. All I need to do is flash it back to sprint and unlock the GSM on the phone.
I just found this forum and don't know where to start in this process..
Im on 5.0.2
Software version LS980ZVI
Model # LS980
Thank you if you can help
this thread has everything you need
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g2/general/ls980-lollipop-update-root-sim-unlock-t3357837
After you install TWRP successfully but before you unlock the sim card, You can install the latest version ZVI that is already rooted
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g2/development/rom-ls980-stock-5-0-2-zvi-flashable-t3303163
for unlocking the SIM card I would use this procedure instead
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g2/general/ls980-lollipop-update-root-sim-unlock-t3357837
Thank you !!
Since you are on ZVI already, you could try the steps in this thread

Hey I did all the steps and got it unlocked but I cant to get my simple mobile sim card to work.
When I select the network mode global I have full bars, but when I try gsm/umts all my bars go away.
The phone is reading the sim card, but im not able to make calls/text. I Also get a authentication error when I try to update the prl/profile settings
did you do the twoclick procedure to unlock the sim card?
did you edit your apn? from the dialer, dial ##3282#
i am on freedompop so i changed my apn to freedompop.foggmobile.com. Simple mobile might require it to be mvno.att.net or something like that( i used that for airvoice).

Yep I did the two click method but on both of my sims my phone refuses to connect/ find networks. I get emergency calls only.
I used a freedompop sim too and changed my apn to freedompop.foggmobile.com. but it still wont connect to the network. When I go into the freedompop messenger app it says. I dont have any data.

that;s strange. It worked for me as soon as I added my APN. Does your phone see the APN for three.co.uk and 3hotspot when you have the freedompop SIM in there?
I don;t even use the Freedompop Messenger app. i just use the sim for data. i can test the functionality of the sim slot because I have a freedompop CDMA/Sprint sim card along with a GSM one.
there are a couple of other ways to unlock the sim slot-they're all based on the same way so don;t know if anything will be different. there is a simfree.exe and there is a thread by someone named summercat for a 1 click procedure. try one of those

im gonna tot back to zv8 and try this one more time or im just gonna go with ring plus or ting.
But thanks for all the help.
And you used ##3282# to add the new apn, correct?
I would go down to zve, then do the Ota update from sprint to zvg or zvh, then do the unlock and root and sim unlock. It's worked fine for me on zvh and zvi.

Yep, I enabled the lte/cdma, rebooted, then enabled gsm, rebooted and I got it to say freedompop on the lockscreen but after a couple of min. It went back to searching for networks.
im gonna try zve to zvg with the two click method
Good luck. The way you know it is supposed to be correctly installed is that your boot animation changes for the yellow sprint spark animation to some swirly wavy rainbow. The carrier image gets swapped to a gsm version.

Oem-specific info/Settings disabled how to enable

I've read on here that 8.1 is locked I was trying dialer codes and ran across a app that showed oem-specific info/Settings disabled. How would one enable this hidden setting? Dialer codes aren't really working on my phone.

I'm wondering the same thing. I am on T-Mobile which supports Wi-Fi calling but even when I turn this on in the SVC menu, I'm not sure how I can know if Wi-Fi calling works.
Add it 5457#*500#
The only code is usable for my Sprint unlocked V50 is the first one of the OP,but in the options it gives me,i dont have the SVC menu option like i have in other LG models.
I want to see the condition of my battery and its charging cycles.
Any idea or another code?
I tried also the other codes given in the OP.
Sprint V50, use at your own risk, some settings changes requires unlock code, get it from Sprint.
