Metal Band: Where to buy/Best Prices? - Sony Smartwatch 3

Does anybody know of anybody selling the metal band original or after market for a decent price?

Nobody?

I got mine on eBay for an unpleasant price. I saw on here some time back that seller dropped the price, I believe. I don't regret it, though. The steel band is pretty nice, so if this is the look you want for you watch, get it at about any price you can. I suspect it will greatly increase the value (maybe even pay for itself if the SW3 is in that high a demand later on) if you were to sell it later on.

My friend has one.
Since the strap IS metal but the watch core is not (it's plastic), you'll have to be careful not to accidentally hook on something because he did and the core broke off the strap. Now he has to use silicone black band, no chance to find a replacement metal band in Poland...

I got the original one here in Denmark but never use it as the black band is more diskrete. So I could be open to sell it. PM me if interested, it's just gathering dust at the moment.

almost impossible to find ...

I do not recommend it. I take care of my gadgets but this strap get scratches for nothing. The front is made from mc donalds toys plastic. A small scratch and not even deep and you will see the gray base plastic. No way to fix it. Stay with the black strap.

Athletic Bands with quick release

Has anyone found any quick release bands that are more on the athletic side. Something that's a sweat resistant one would be ideal. I did some checking on found a few just not quick release.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Maybe these ones:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BD-Sports-S...hash=item280d5eb2cc:m:mAliLjS-R0C31lHy_IPRmFA
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BD20mm-Widt...hash=item2a5d5d7883:m:muhvB9eLJpfN-cldrgSLtrw
According to the description, the bands have "built-in pins". I'm not sure they are quick-release pins though.
Here's what they say:

I can confirm that the band from the link above does include quick-release pins in the band. Overall I like these bands, comfortable to wear, nice change to a more athletic look, and they're plenty long for my thicker wrists. With the standard leather strap I'm either on the last hole or next to last, but with this silicone strap I have 2-3 holes left.

I placed my eBay order on Feb 11 and received in the midwest yesterday, so just under 2 weeks.
Just received them (1 Black & 1 Blue) and for me they are awesome and comfortable for activity's, sports, etc! Here's a few pics
Tiagobt, Rant, Galaxys: Thanks for the heads up and reports. I just bought a black and a blue one. I'll report back once I get them.
Just ordered 3 of these (grey, black and blue) off the back of the positive comments here. I'm a fat git with big wrists and the standard straps are a little snug - these silicone ones look like they'll have some room to spare. I usually wear G-Shocks so prefer silicone straps anyway.
Now to find a dock which works well!
Mine has just arrived. I really like it! Fits the watch perfectly and includes quick-release pins.
I bought this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-S...hash=item5b1d9fb1ba:m:mAGU61q7dYTOFXgT8m3EwCA
But the product seems to be the same.
^cool! They all do look the same. I actually ordered mine from Amazon....
I'm looking for an orange silicone band. I took the chance of ordering the 22mm band from amazon but it ended up being 22mm where it connects to the watch and the band was 30mm! Anyone had luck finding an orange band that works?

Only seen Red in these comfortable well fitted 20mm silicone ones. Would also like Orange, but may order a Red one and Green one to add to my 2 current Black & Blue ones!
I've got several of those bands on order now. I am also trying out the Clockwork band for Philip Stein in orange. I'll report back.
Anyone willing to sell me a band?

The band came in the other day. It should work after some modifications. Really I just need to switch out the spring bars to the 18mm and maybe trim a little of the silicone where it joins the watch.
Got two on eBay. Black and blue to wear cycling. Very comfortable.

Perfect fit. Quick release. Nice quality. Good price. Received in less than two weeks from China. If this is the type band you want then I recommend it.
Have you seen this one? I bought this brand in 18mm black and I like it a lot. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01A...watch+band&dpPl=1&dpID=419-PSYJ7+L&ref=plSrch

Official Huawei Bands are Now Live

Not sure if this has been posted here yet. But you can now order the bands from Huawei site.

Why would anyone pay those ridiculous prices?
Unfortunately the Huawei site doesn't take orders for outside the USA. I ordered the black leather strap from the following Seller via Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B018UP0952?ref_=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_1

Because these prices are not crazy for some other people. And I for one, will not buy a cheap nock off from eBay or Amazon.
Its there for people who wants it. No one is being forced to buy it. But yes, if I need one, I will be buying from them.

I was seriously asking... lol. Looking at the Amazon listing though it does not appear to.
I can see differences right off the bat though. The band on Amazon must be slightly slimmer than the Huawei official. If you look where the band attaches to the watch, the Amazon version is the same width as the band itself. The Huawei official band is slightly wider than the actual part that attaches to the watch. (lugs pin?) I am not very good at explaining stuff so I am not even going to try to explain other differences I see. lol
EDIT: Disregard, I was looking at this one.

I have to agree and disagree. I do feel that Huawei has the bands overpriced. However, you also get what you pay for. The ebay / amazon knock offs may "look" the same but are unlikely to be manufactured with the same quality of materials and to the same quality standard. I am trying to grasp why the steel mesh band is $129, when the price difference from the Huawei Watch with a leather band to the mesh band is only $50....
Myself? I would definitely purchase the knock offs! I may be OCD, but I will not worry nearly as much when my $25 stainless steel mesh strap gets scratched or banged up then I would if my $129 one did.

The metal bands may be VERY similar in "appearance" so I agree with you there. However, leather is a whole different story. If you know anything about leather at all, you would definitely know leather is not leather. The Huawei leather band is actually very nice. The knock offs on Amazon are going to be low quality, crap leather with poor stitching, I guarantee it.

I only asked if it had the logo because he stated that it was "identical". It was a serious question to him, being he actually purchased one. I personally would prefer it not have the logo on the clasp for a cleaner look.
I didn't say anything about not wanting to buy cheap Chinese stuff. I said that I would buy the $25 one over the original so if it did get scratched / banged up it wouldn't be a big deal.
Just a quick update having today received my Huawei black leather strap from the Amazon.co.uk Seller I mentioned at post 3 above http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...051_TE_3p_dp_1
I bought this leather strap for work, so that I can swap and wear my original metal bracelet during the weekends. I can confirm that, this strap from Amazon is the genuine Huawei leather strap. The boxing and presentation is exactly the same as with the watch and the spare Huawei charger, and the strap has all the proper Huawei markings. The strap itself is good quality, supple and soft with perfect stitching. This strap puts that which I have on my Montblanc watch (and costing twice as much) to shame. Whilst comparatively expensive at 77 Euros, it is one of the best leather straps I have had. I'll order the brown strap just as soon as they have them in. Loving this watch.
Pavoni.
they are probably charging these crazy prices because otherwise noone would buy the upgraded huawei watch models for $100 extra if they could just buy the band separately and save money.
this obviously has nothing to do with the quality of the band. no leather band on earth is actually worth 100 bux or whatever they are charging.
and if you are willing to pay that for the huawei logo you should seriously reconsider your priorities. there is nothing special about these bands.

interesting..it looks chunkier than the black rubber strap though...I have very small wrists (on the stock black rubber strap I have the latch in the middle hole) so this might be too big for me. Anyone have small wrists and have pics of it on for comparison?

I thought the same, looks massive! Surely they could have made it smaller. With the size it is, I think a nice strap on it would look silly rather than nice.

If anyone gets one, please let us know if it's a dust magnet like the normal black strap, that's the only thing letting this watch down at the moment. Hopefully the metal strap will be available soon as well at a decent price.
Got one, to me it fits better than the 3d printed, definitely no dust manget.

it does look well made...but it appears taller than it needs to be...I mean why not just take the holder design from the silicon band, then cut it off where the holder narrows into the straps, and put a regular strap adapter there? (if that makes any sense lol :silly the size is a few millimeters shy of an an ankle bracelet.

yeah, know what you mean, but physically impossible to have a holder and attachment for the seperate straps in that small space. See below pictures with original and this holder. In the original strap the device itself already is overlapping the strap. So you need that space first on the seperate holder and then hav the location of the strap attachement strong enough (that is , more material needed)
thanks for sharing the detailed pics, I can see how the design does limit how close the adapters can be positioned to the actual core. No hope for my dainty wrists then...Also, is it just me, or is your stock silicone strap glossy?
I think the holder with black mesh strap looks quite nice

my wrist is smaller then yours i suppose, had the original strap in 3rd hole :
and it's not shiny from origin, its just worn (as you can see in previous pictures, the corners are showing metal underneath)
nope my wrist is smaller, i'd have only 1 hole exposed above the sony logo if I took a picture this way.
still, it does really look nice and premium, but it's just too much bezel for me.
There's a few official SWR510's on ebay at the moment, shipped from Japan, around 30 Euros.
Think I'll order one of these rather than the 3d printed ones.

Replacement housing and band

Just wanted to let people know that after the clasp on my watch band broke and not really willing to pay $89 for a lime green replacement, I took a shot with a company called Shapeways that was offering a 3D printed housing that was compatible with a 20mm watch band.
I've been using it a few days so far and I'm really happy with it. The housing was $18.99 with shipping and I got a silicone rubber band for less than $10. The housing takes about a week to make before it ships and the one I got was flat black and looks good.
All in all, a good replacement and $60 ahead without having to go acid green.
Here is a link http://www.shapeways.com/product/XP...oJE_1sU8OG3f1xZ8hoCHgvw_wcB&optionId=58575197
Thanks for the info mate but where can I choose the silicone rubber band?
Any standard 20mm watchband will work. Go to a watchstore an buy a watchband there or get it from some online store like Amazon.
This is the one Igot from Amazon. Link: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B017TDWDSM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00
Would you mind sharing some photos of the watch in the housing? I have been interesting for awhile but unwilling to pull the trigger without seeing the SW3 in the adapter. Thanks

Smartwatch 3, no more spare parts

Hi there,
I think I have bad news for us. Last week the metall wristband of my SW3 was broken, I sent it to our german Sony Support Center (the third time now, they replaced it two times), yesterday I got the old broken wristband back, with a comment that Sony has completely removed the spare part supply for the SW3.
Looks like the SW3 is dead .

Judging by the price here in the UK @ £79, and the lack of stock at major retailers, I have to agree.
That's bad when you consider they may have to support it for about 5-6 years in the UK AFAIK due to consumer laws.
Yes, its bad news for you and all us people .
same thing happened to my but it was my OG silicone strap, so i got a 3D printed case from shapeways for £18 and got a 24mm leather band from ebay for £2. Its been 2 weeks and ive been using that and imo looks better then before. You could also get a 24mm metal band if thats what you prefer.

I can say this 3D printed case work fine. I have used it 24/7 for a month now. You can also order it in polished metal colour, although I have no idea how plastic can look like metal. I ordered a black one, polished it by myself with sand paper and use it with silicone and black steel straps. This works well for me.
Just a suggestion: if you are not in a hurry, you can wait for discount or free shipping offers.
my screen got broke, placed two orders with MaxBhi, both got cancelled, now money is stuck as they are unable to refund. Anyways, I am still looking for a screen if available. Please let me know...
