How is the video recording? - Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe Questions & Answers

Can anyone comment on the quality of the video recording? I found a youtube video comparing it to the S5 and it doesnt do very good.
youtube: watch?v=cDw5vBWKZpg
(sorry would post the full link, but appears I don't have the privilege yet.)
The image stablization looks terrible, zooming in yields a blurry mess. At 2160p it looks like 1080p, and 1080p looks 720p. The details and colours also don't compare to the S5.
Can anyone confirm they are seeing the same issues?

[Q] Touch Pro 2 video recording quality?

Recorded a video last night and uploaded it to Youtube but Im not impressed with the quality.
Checking the settings its set to 640x480 (VGA) but the video is awfully blocky. I was under the impression that VGA recording on the TP2 was rather good.
Am I expecting too much from the device or is there something amiss here?
Does noone have any input on this? Is the linked video what I should expect from TP2 video footage?
What settings did you use?
I use Resolution L (320x240) and Capture Format MPEG4
Comes out fine for me.
Capture Format: MPEG4
Resolution: VGA (640x480)
Its blocky both on the Youtube conversion and on the phone itself.
Could it simply be a result of poor recording venue?
If there is low light this will make a difference. But test and see. Try the slightly lower resolution (because then it can cope with better compression and may be less blocky). Would be interested if anyone else has different settings. Cheers.

1080p video is zoomed in

I have noticed when I am in the video recorder and switch to 1920x1080 resolution I notice the video zooms in to around 2x and says "zooming is not allowed in full HD" when I try to zoom out. This causes the recorded video to look like crap and noticeably lower quality than the 720p videos I record, especially on a pc..
Does anyone know why this is, if anyone else is having the same problem and if there is any way to fix it?
I can confirm I see the same thing.

Same here!
I got some good results with my videos, but only when i wasn't trying to shoot something up close.
I am really disappointed 1080p was one of the big things I was looking forward to with the GS2 and now I find that it's a lower quality video than the 720p... Hopefully someone has a fix or this is an issue Samsung is working on.

Video Recording Stabilization

Recorded a few videos over the past week, and I don't have perfectly stabilized hands, causing the videos to appear extremely shaky.
Just wondering whether there's any apps that provide any form of effective video stabilization.
I think Camera FX has it ?

Slow Motion (bad) Definition

Hi. I've tried the slow motion feature on my note 2 today and I realise that the 480p of stop motion dont have the quality and the definition of a normal 480p. I've seen another movies of other users loving the feature quality and I am a little bit disapointed. I'm I the only one?
I know that is a new feature and it's better than nothing, but...
I will post two videos to compare soon.
Sorry for my bad english.
Thats due to how slow motion recording works.
If you record a ×2 slow motion video for 1 min it will result in a 2 minute video.
In order to maintain the same fps as a normal video, the camera has to capture and process ×2 the frames in the same 1 min of recording.
To facilitate the increased workload, the camera captures lower resolution frames.
You will notice that x8 has lower resolution than x4 etc.

I also think that is because the interpolation algorithm (?) that is being used to create the extra frames. (I don't think the camera actually CAPTURES each frame). I'm still doing some tests to determine which would be the exact speed/frame counting on the camera.
Here is a video of my dog jumping. You can still see the blurriness in most of the shots.

Video Recording Quality/Audio

Is the video recording quality/audio when recording fixed after the 3.2.2 update? Planning on buying this phone over the upcoming note7/s7 edge. I like the touchwiz interface but not the Samsung bloatware apps like their keyboard/gear manager etc..
I shoot alot of 1080p video I don't think I will ever shoot videos at 4K
For 1080p is the OP3 video quality good enough?

1080p is still pretty ugly. They bumped up the bitrate of 4k video though, so there's definitely a noticeable improvement there.

Audio has been fixed now.
1080p can still find some improvements (OIS still isn't working), but it does give out good video.
Getting an app like proshot will get you image stabilization and allows you to change the video quality beyond what stock does.
