Even if you replaced the battery you will likely end up screwed by the software. They also may end up disabling these phones as a last means of getting them out of service. Best bet is to try harder with the replacement paths. Where did your friend get you it?

What country are you in? I have a ticket number with Samsung to get a replacement. I purchased it on Craigslist in the US. I should find out next week how they are going to replace it.

im on dominican republic! and they refuse to replace mine cause i dont have an invoice!

What is the position of the government there on the recall? Do you have something similar to the CPSC like we have here in the states? Just trying to think of ways you could force their hand.

They will sort this out. They just haven't yet.
I ask you this.... with or without a receipt/invoice, who do you think would be liable should that phone burn your house down... or explode on a plane flight causing mass casualty? They can't shirk this willlingly.... they are liable.

I also have a ticket with Samsung. A rep told me they would be in contact within 5-7 business days. This Wednesday will be the 7th business day. So if I don't hear back from them by Wednesday, I will be in the phone first thing Thursday morning week as well as contact the CSPC.

UPDATE
I received a call from Samsung corporate a few minutes ago. I was given the option of a brand new Note 7 or a refund, even though I bought the phone on Craigslist. I was even allowed to get a choice of color. I CHOSE TO GET A NEW PHONE.
A third party company called Stericycle will contact me within 72 hours to set up the exchange in a public place. I was given a reference number and a confirmation email in case I have any questions or not contacted within 72 hours.
Samsung verified my contact information from a previous ticket I had submitted. The rep told me that this is is the first day of the recall program for third party phones.
Sent from my SM-N930V using Tapatalk

Thanks for your update!!!
How did you get the ticket claim?
I bought the phone on Craigslist too and they refuse to exchange it.
If you can show us how, it would be great.
Thank you

I contacted 844-365-6197. This is the Samsung Note 7 Recall Hotline.
I also called and filed a claim with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission at 301-504-7908.
I bought the phone on Craigslist too and they refuse to exchange it.
Be persistent, courteous, and take down notes of who you spoke with, at what times, and never end the conversation without a reference number. I started calling Samsung on September 25th. Called the following day inquiring about the status, and at that time the rep stated that someone would contact me within 5-7 business days. Sure enough, someone contacted me back on October 2nd within the 7 business day window. I'm still not in possession of a replacement phone yet, though it seems close to happening.
If you can show us how, it would be great.

UPDATE as of October 5th at 1:00pm PST
I received a text, supposedly from Stericycle, which contained my reference number and stated that "Your new unit has been shipped out. The UPS tracking number is 1Z.....". Right now, the tracking number only shows that the unit is ready for pickup and is being delivered via 2nd Day Air. I also have two emails in my inbox describing how the replacement phone will be packaged and returned to Samsung, RSI Repair Services Inc in Plano, Texas.
If you recall from my earlier post, a rep said Stericycle will meet me at a public location to exchange the recalled device for the replacement.
This in no way is a complaint about the process. I much rather see progress which Samsung and Stericycle appear to be working on.

Received my replacement phone via UPS. Took the update that bike shows the green battery icon on the notification bar.

Phone fixed

Hi,
I sent my phone to HTC for repair as the screen was yellow and had poor battery life
they changed the screen and the battery and its amazing now
there are no yellow spots and it works like a charm
the battery lasts 1.50 days dispite heavy use
for those having issues please send it to HTC.
If u send it back to your retailer for an exchange u are not guaranteed to get a phone without an issue, screen especially whereas sending the phone to HTC they make sure there are no issues after a repair they have done a good job and Im really happy with the phone now
8 years I buy HTC phones and have very good experience with them.
Only once I had a issue with my phone, they picked up and returned the machine fixed in 3 days.
htc will fix/replace your device if it has yellow spots?
100% its called Mura. Tell them and they will replace the lcd and u wont face the issue ever again as it s a known issue
Mine had this issue mainly and the new screen rocks
they are easier to deal with then apple... i will never buy another apple product mainly because of their customer service...

Thats odd, I had an ipod touch a few years back and my experience at the time was really positive. I had a problem and scheduled a visit online, went down to the local mall and gave it to them, they swapped it out for me. I've never had that good of an experience with anything else I own. Of course, that was the only new apple product I've ever had, so maybe regular apple users have a different experience, dunno.
I also have sent my HTC off for repairs (to some place in houston). It wasn't the screen, I had a problem with my mobile data that all but stopped working indoors and barely worked outdoors. I'll see how that goes. They did tell me that if they need any parts, it will cost me $20 because my One X is from france, whatever that means. Its really sad though, I don't really have any other usable android devices at the moment so I'm stuck using my work's blackberry while I wait. I hate that thing, I feel like i've gone back to the 90's.
That's very strange they ask $ 20 for it because HTC warrantee is worldwide.
The phone they fixed for me that time was a HTC Artemis P3300 from the US and I live in Holland. They didn't charge anything.

Also Stock unrooted phone I believe? If so can perfectly compare with my usage.

Yeah, they said because I live in the US and I purchased a phone from france and the repair place is in the US they would need to special order parts. Who knows. I'm actually a little concerned since they mistyped my email address (luckily I got the email anyway since I own the domain) on the rma info and even though they received the device on wednesday (according to the post office), there have been no updates to the website that they've received or are repairing it. So... I'll have to call them again and see what happened.
There is something to be said to buying devices directly from a local carrier.

Better luck than me... My phone was delivered on the 13th but never made it to 'received'. I now have an escalation ticket into HTC to find it. It took a few calls to them for them to even care that my phone was missing, they just kept saying that the repair place was probably behind. I then had to call them for an escalation ticket, then had to call a few days later to re-do the escalation ticket because the last guy didn't do it properly, then a call a few days later to get someone assigned to the escalation ticket. I'm now at the few days mark again, so I'll have to call again on monday and can hardly wait to hear the response this time.
I couldn't use the blackberry any longer, so I spent the other night screwing with my old captivate to at least get it working again so I'm not living in the dark ages anymore.
So, after a bunch more calls back and forth, they finally found my phone. At which point it sat for a couple more weeks while they ordered parts. Then they called back with the bad news. Apparently they can't order the parts because it's an international phone and due to copyright laws (supposedly) they can't ship the parts it needs overseas. The only options are to 1) return the phone, 2) send the phone to HTC France or 3) Replace the phone with an AT&T One-X. Obviously #1 is out. #3 isn't a great choice either, because the AT&T isn't as good as the International version, and so I discussed #2 with them. #2 apparently is only an option if I have a French shipping address, which obviously I don't. So, I'm pretty much out of options.
I think I may just take them up on replacing it with the AT&T one, and since it's new, I'll just ebay it and take the money to -mostly- pay for the S3. I really liked the One-x, but I don't want the limitations it already has (SD & Battery) combined with the more severe limitations of the AT&T version (dual core, 16gb storage - I can't use LTE so that's not a benefit).
Luckily my captivate has been holding up during this whole fiasco, but It's really on it's last legs.

It happened to someone else too. It's not parts, it's this...
BarryH_GEG said:
This makes sense but not for the reasons given. The U.S. One X's have the "app picker" disabled; users have to pre-set an event in settings for a single action to occur when clicking on a link in an app. Those sold outside the U.S. present a list of apps to choose from each time you click on a link just as every other Android device. Making sure the U.S. versions didn't have this feature enabled therefore violating Apple's patent is what held them up at customs. HTC U.S. restoring that feature, even on an international device, would be in violation of the patent. So if they had to replace the motherboard they couldn't load the international s/w on it and they have no alternative ROM with the feature disabled that runs on Teg3.

Does anyone know how to contact Samsung Rebates ? I got hosed

I just received and email letting me know that my rebate was rejected because the preorder date was not correct , I preordered on 10/17, the promo site clearly stated that Verizon buyers had until the 23rd .
THIS WAS ALL MAILED IN
Web submission continues to give the invalid IMEI
I looked at my submission, and it looks like they definitely made it hard to actually contact them. I cant imagine that was a mistake.
Probably have to contact Samsung themselves and fight for hours to maybe get someone that can and will help.
I sent mine through on the 23rd, and havent heard anything yet.
How about this?

Thank you I tried calling their number and it just keeps pushing you through to an answering machine so I submitted a ticket and we'll see if they even respond. I'm curious if anyone else was that did a mail in rebate has had any issues .
They expanded it past pre-orders too. That's strange. Today was the last day to get this promotion and receipts are due by December 14 I think

One possible issue is they have several promotions running at once. It almost sounds like they put you in the other promotion:
GET UP TO $200* FOR YOUR TRADE-IN.
Trade in any working smartphone when you purchase a Samsung Galaxy Note® 4, Galaxy S® 5, Galaxy S® 5 Active or Galaxy S® 5 Sport (Galaxy Note® 4 available to Verizon customers starting 10/23/14).
Your receipt is before 10/23, so you are not valid. Another possible issue, and I'm not saying this is true, but did you possibly sign up for the rebate I just posted?

No I signed up for the rebate that I showed screenshot of with the big red circle on it. That is one thing I made sure to double and triple check before mailing the thing in.
Okay so I resubmitted my rebate using the link above that shows in parentheses that Verizon users have until the 22nd to do a pre order here's a photo of the confirmation screen I got on my computer if you look at the circle it shows the same thing about Verizon . Now in the second photo this is the actual email confirmation I got after filling it out if you look at the red circle you will notice that the part about Verizon having until the 22nd has been mysteriously taken away.
It looks like there is a major bait and switch going on. The whole reason I am even doing the mail and is because when I enter in my information on the web their vacation it claims that my IMEI is incorrect.
Again, they extended this to 10/31 and no preorder was necessary. Just send in a copy of everything via mail.

My guess is that someone didn't realize the promo was extended then. They must've looked at the original promo when they denied it
I couldn't get it to work online either, so I emailed them. They said something like "We have updated our website so please try again." I did, and it amazingly worked.
However, one place says it all must be on one receipt. Verizon can not do that. They said in the email to me that it didn't have to be on one receipt, so I guess others had complained about that.
I could be wrong, but I swear there was a difference in wording on what to circle too. One place said to circle the trade in, the date, and the purchase of the Note 4. Then in the process is listed what to circle again, and said something different.
Lastly, it said the photo had to be of the original receipt. My Verizon store checks you out on tablets, and emails you receipts. I clearly told them I needed a physical receipt for a rebate. They gave me one, but it's my receipt printed on 8.5x11 paper, not the normal receipt paper. So I'm waiting for them to say they are not the original receipt.
The one thing they can NOT get me on is image quality. I busted out my dslr for the photo. The image, while under their maximum size, is large enough for the blind to be able to read.
So yeah, overall, I'm almost expecting to get screwed over by this somehow.
I was one of the few that successfully did it online. I did it on release date and I'm still waiting on a response

+1, same as you, I did it online and no problem, pretty straight forward and simple. The only thing that I noted that when ask to upload files, you need to upload one receipt for prep-order and one for trade in. It won't let you continue if you only upload 1 file.

You are one of the few lucky ones , most of us trying to do it online are getting the "invalid hex/imei" error . It seems like samsung wanted to minimize how many of these rebates are getting paid out .

I never noticed that, nor did that. I uploaded one single picture showing everything. I did that on 10/23 like others. I got the email confirmation they received it, but nothing past that point.
I got the invalid IMEI message, too.
Did you try re-entering it without spaces? Once I typed it as strictly numeric, it took it.
I entered mine about 30 diff times and every way possible

Is there a way to bypass the charging limit completely

As the title... I know you can uncheck a button and raise the charging limit to 80%, but just wanna know if there's a method, with root or not, with custom Rom or not, to completely remove the limit and make my Note 100% again?

Samsung Germany is a mess and positively retarded: 3 weeks ago they told me someone will contact me "shortly" with procedure for the exchange. 3 weeks later still no such thing.
It's them who made this mess out of a great phone in the first place, and then their disastrous customer service only made it worse.
I'm just trying to lessen the inconvenience unfairly heaped upon me here

It does for me... after a whole day of medium use during the work day, I'm usually forced to plug in with 5% or less. If I have 20% more, I'll have the peace of mind and won't have to think about the battery whatsoever again

Not if they claim it was caused when you circumvented their limiter ... is it worth the risk doing so rather than just suffer the minor inconvenience now.

You will not have any recourse as Samsung stated from the beginning to shut the phone off and do not use it until you get a replacement. If you choose to circumvent their warnings then you are assuming responsibility.

For you as a European citizen the law is B+W. Samsung has NOTHING to do with your situation. You made your purchase through Amazon.de. If you log onto your Amazon.de account you will eventually find a help section that gives various advice of shoppers problems. If you are not satisfied with that you can further click on 'Contact us'. Here a new page will open where you can highlight your order and ask Amazon for a call back either now or when you are free.
I advise you click 'now' and your phone will ring immediately. You can then discuss your problem with the Amazon representative who will be most helpful.
IF you have one of the first batch, the Amazon rep' will send you a prepaid postal address where all you need to do is re-box your Note 7 and place the return label on the box, take it to your local post office where your printed receipt will be stamped dated and signed. As soon as Amazon.de receive that parcel you will be refunded directly to the method you paid originally. All done and dusted.
You have zero excuses for not doing this. Amazon.de will help you 100% with this situation. It wont cost you a cent. :good:

That, is exactly why a legal case is necessary: did they really expect ppl to not use their phone, while not providing ANY recourse, either a replacement phone, any sort of replacement phone, or a speedy exchange? We paid big bucks for it... remember? That shining hole of 850€ in our bank account is screaming literally "compensation"

Are you looking for a reimbursement, replacement unit or compensation? Had you contacted Amazon.de you would have received your money back within 7 days of your returning the purchase. That is the most any store will offer and better than some.
Let me add this. Thank God this was not the fruity brand. In this country once the plastic outer packing is broken the store will not replace it even though this is contrary to law.
There have been some genuine cases of stores not cooperating with those who have requested a full refund or exchange unit. Amazon.de is not, however, one of them.

That part about Samsung not responsible for handling the exchange is simply not true: Samsung Germany specifically set up a webpage so customers who purchased Note7 through all channels in Germany could register their information in order for Samsung Germany to handle the exchange. And they replied repeatedly someone would contact me shortly for the detailed exchange plan... 3 weeks and nada
As for Amazon, it was them who initially pointed me to the Samsung Germany page, and that's about it. But you might be right, I should try them again

I am sorry to doubt you but I must on this occasion.
If you had called Amazon.de they would NOT have requested you contact Samsung. They have been instructed from day one to accept returns on all Note 7's.
Amazon.de will not request Samsung become involved as THE LAW states very clearly here in Europe that you MUST deal with the party who sold you the item. No one in Amazon has told you to contact Samsung. You are mistaken.
If you even mention Note 7 to an Amazon.de representative said rep will pee their pants to get that mobile from you. All contacts with Amazon.de are recorded and an email sent to you confirming the details of your call and action to be taken. Caution when you say you have spoken to Amazon as there will be a record.
Ryland
Amazon.de have not even sold the replacement Notes. I guess they are taboo in Amazon.de.
The chances are very slim

The amount of people that had/have a ticking time bomb was/is counted at a total of 100 units out of the 2.5 million units first sold world wide. Not very high odds. I had bought one of the originals which didn't give me any problems, but after hearing the hype and that they would exchange it, I then got it replaced with a "safe" unit with green battery icon... all was good until this morning. Now they want me to only have 60% on a unit that THEY said (just like the original) works just fine! What kind of crap are these dummies playing? It does work fine. If it was not SO it would have failed very quickly, as they(news media) supposedly said happen on an commercial airplane, of all places..(I didn't know you could charge your phone on a plane, while in flight or what kind of games was this "person" playing to get it to so HOT) but it appears some moron was able to do this. Why and how I ask? hmmm... Anyhow, This has lead me to root the device in an attempt to circumvent their attempts at forcing BS on us. I have noticed that when the device is in (TWRP) recovery, it will charge up beyond 60%, so there is a (simple) way of getting around this BS; I just have yet to find it. I most likely will trade this in for the Galaxy edge s7, but i really like the S-pen so will have to wait an see how things go with the Samsung rep tomorrow; I guess if they can give me an unlocked international version like the duos I have now, I could live with that. They ARE basically the same except for just a few items (s-pen and USB type, if not mistaken)...but if not, Samsung will lose my business. What a bunch of F'd up'd individuals. Don't they product test their phones prior to launch, especially when using a new vender for batteries!? What kind of R&D are they working with (I work in R&D, this is complete BS)? My opinion IS this is just part of a BS deal with Apple, Inc. to settle some patent infringement crap from years ago. The truth is, anytime the mainstream news says something like this (over and over on all networks), it is always masonic BS. The fact is, unless you know someone with one that got burnt up, or at least got really really hot and started to smoke; I call it all BS. They really should have gotten to the bottom of this prior to exchanging any phones. These corporate morons always trying to save their own wallets and not anyone elses'. Should I find an all the time way to *fix* the 60% charge limit, I will post an update. Hope others will do the same. Without a doubt there IS a way. They did the limit by OTA update (that I didn't authorize in the first place-just forced pushed to phone) which is all software related anyhow...so there is a way by software to undo this error. :good:

Ok let's drop the conspiracy theories and do the math and the forecast projections on which Samsung would have formulated their final decision to kill the N7.
Firstly of 2.5 million recalled units, these include unsold inventory. There was actually just over 1 million units sold in the USA and around 200,000 in China.
Secondly now let's look at failures and projections.
100 incidents in NA over 34 days of device being on sale equates to 3 devices a day failing,
Assuming that failure rate continues based on those 1 million units after 1 year there would be 1068 incidents in USA
Now let's project that forward with Sales increasing to 6 million units sold in USA over the year, based on the failure rate reported by the CPSC we would be looking at 6,408 'dramatic'• failures.
[•clarification - a normal failure happens to all devices, a dramatic failure is the device frying itself and spewing smoke]
Now let's add Europe should the Note had been released there and estimate over a year it would have sold 10 million units, based on the actual failure rate of USA then we would be at 10,680
Add another 4 million units for China and Asian territories at 4,272.
So with a projected 20 million units based on the current failure rate of USA we would be looking at around 21,360 going up in smoke and potentially destroying property and injuring users..
Now that is only for year 1.
So we project forward. Let's assume in year 2 the devices shifted another 5 million units, and should the rate of failure be sustained we would then be looking at. 21,360 x 2 (second year) = 42,720 + additionally 5,300 total = 49,000 .... potential incidents.
The 'potential' number here shifts the normal risk / reward balance clearly more into risk than the possible rewards continued sales and incidents occurring would have brought.
Samsung are looking at a $17 billion hole in their account because of the Note 7. They did not cancel the device completely on a whim or media sabotage. They cancelled it because projecting forward based on the fact they could not resolve what we was causing them to fail, the potential damages and losses not only in liability but to the entire Samsung brand would be more than the $17 billion hole cancelling the device creates. That should tell you how serious the issue was and is.
But if you think you know better than Samsung and dream up conspiracy theories, please be my guest. The view from cloud cuckoo land must be breathtaking ....
But I think more of Samsung, and trust they made their decision based on the laws of probability and sound financial judgment. Clearly you think less of them if you think they would cancel a device and face a financial hole in their books based on media and Apple fanboys.

Google will not do a refund for the Pixel (refunded) ?

Right now i am frustrated, upset and just don't know how to swallow this. Ill try to be short. Need advice on what to do.
I have previously had issues with two of my google xl phones.
I have returned one of them.
Received the second one as a replacement which was also problematic.
I have decided to return the Pixel stand along with that replacement phone together and get a refund. (Since pixel and the stand came as a deal)
Google sent me the packing slips, I remember asking the rep can if i could ship both items in one box to which i received a reply "yes" (not that it makes a difference)
I came to UPS gave the lady the box. phone and stand was in it. I also put return paperwork for the phone and for the stand in the box in front of her and past her two shipping labels. One for the stand and one for the phone. She closed the box and put only one packing slip on the box. Told me i have put the paperwork in the box already. There is no need to put the second shipping labels as its going to the same place. You get where im going with it now?
Google received the package in 2 days and started to process the refund for the pixel stand (as that was the packing slip she chose)
I have called them asking them about the phone and they knew nothing of it.
After over 4 weeks of trying to call them and get answers of my escalated case i received little to nothing. In fact calling them 3 weeks after they"ve received the package to get answers and they didn't even get my story straight. I had to tell them again what had happen. Obviously, shipping rep Lori, have told me not to worry, the box went into one room. They will find it......
So just now, i get an answer in my email saying "the package didn't contain the device" therefore no refund.
Feel free to tell me im an idiot do ship and do what i did. As Im entertaining that idea as well, sadly.
Im know what i put in the box so either UPS or Google had lost it or took it
I did take few pictures of the box with the phone and stand and packing papers in that UPS store before shipping them out.
If they would have told me right away there was no item i would have went to UPS store while the lady still remembered me. May be if they had video surveillance they could have pulled it as well. Now after a month im not so sure bout neither.
Cant they look at the pictures and see the time, date, location, authenticate it? Doesnt UPS ship the package with weight shown?? Im sure weight of the package was way heavier then just a single pixel stand. Wonder if they even called UPS.
Its very hard to swallow this as a lesson.
Tomorrow ill go talk to UPS see if i can get some answers. Ill call google tomorrow as well, see if i could get some answers as well.
I don't have any experience with returning items, but I do know that when trading in phones for credit towards a new device it explicitly states that you must send a separate package for each device being traded in as they are tracked individually. Sorry to hear that happened but if they had already paid for the shipping labels I guess I would have just boxed and sent separately since I wasn't paying the shipping...
I had the same issue with a phone I bought for my mom. They sent us the wrong phone and instructed us to refuse delivery and return to sender. Long story short, since they didn't tell me to use a label or send me one for return the phone got lost. So I was out $300 and three months of arguing. To make it worse they still tried to charge me the fee on Fi for not activating the phone on the plan. It really rubbed me wrong and even after all the good years they treated me well it still made me sour.

It was a refund tho. I wish it would say anywhere what you wrote, would have saved me.
As soon as they received the package I had a feeling they scanned it and tossed it to the side. Did little to nothing to investigate either.

thx, it is.
From the moment i walked out of that UPS store i had a bad feeling. Thats why from my first call to them ive been pushing them to check and find the package but that goes nowhere when all people do is read the scrip on the phone. led nowhere. I know what i packed in and what i brought to UPS, so its blows so hard that im losing 1275 Cnd.
Will go to that ups place tomorrow, hope that lady works is there and pray to god she remembers me and our conversation. So we could go back to those fvckers and say look harder for the damn device.
As soon as they would have opened that box they would have seen two items and two pieces of paperwork for each.
Errrr I'll stop venting.
File against them in small claims court. Around here it costs like 50 bucks to file. That will at least get their attention.
I am about to do it over the 50 pre order credit, just because I am pissed about their BS.
Or maybe a shipping claim with the carrier.

I wonder if the lady at the store took it after you left. She could of easily told another employee/driver that hey there's a $1000 phone in there take it. Not very uncommon for UPS/FedEx etc to steal from customers.

Unfortunately, the pictures don't show a phone or a stand. They only show a box and some bubble wrap. So I don't think that's going to do it. Also, I don't think a UPS employee would take a $1000 traceable device and put at risk a job that probably pays a decent salary. But something happened to the device and you will just need to keep on Google to find out what happened. Has the phone been turned on? They should have a record of that as well as blacklisting the IMEI. It might take a while but with persistence you should get your money back.
Hello OkayGK, hope it all works out for you. I'm waiting for my phone to arrive. It's been 2 weeks. Can you please tell me how to get in touch with company reps. Thanks. Again I hope they resolve your issues and you get your refund. Good Luck.

Hey. Funny I deleted my bookmark for Google support the other day to clean up my chrome Abit. I have the number for the saved to my phone. Didn't think I'd need the bookmark anymore.
Search through Google store in your account settings.
Should find it somewhere there.

I've read stories about people doing chargebacks in similar situations which can result in your entire Google account being closed. Just FYI if you intend to dispute the charge or file small claims, they may just close your account and move on.

I went to talk to UPS, lady wasn't working. Talked to another gentleman there. He told me he will talk with her as well as if i need a letter from them they can assist. I was told as soon as the package leaves that store it is in UPS hands. So now, i think a driver or anyone else could have taken the item as well. Again, anything could happen at this point. Yeah, i doubt ups store took it, however drivers could... I've heard stories. Also, remember the story where google had chose a shipper to deliver phones to us and that company would take the phones out of the boxes and ship empty boxes? i think i read it somewhere here. Had me so paranoid, i was taking videos while unboxing my phones.
What UPS guy told me today is as soon as the package leave their location it goes to a wh. Where they weight the package and charge google according to its weight. Im sure they could look at that and see how heavy the box was when UPS shipped it. That would tell everything right away. If it was as light as just a stand means phone was taken out. If the package was heavy enough for a stand and a phone/accessories then its on googles end. Of course i could have put stones inside those boxes. Yet i wasnt even lucky enough to have google come back to me with that. Still have to call them see what where how etc.
I would not want to band the Imei as it can probably be changed remotely. Least if I let the IMEI number be there is a chance if the phone is in use it could show.

Sadly, i understand. I paid of my Mastercard as i kept waiting for weeks to get refund from them. I could of gave that phone or bought a new phone for my gf, or use that money for something else. The fact that some asshole may be using my phone or someone made a fvck up and got away with it, whether its UPS or Google, now thats hard to swallow. Im trying to be possessive and making my peace with it but ill also will keep trying to do everything i can to get the refund. Cant give up, yet. Im not rich to close my eyes on this it hurts and even rich people probably would still fight this.
here is the last response form google rep who was looking after my case.
Thank you for contacting Google Support!
Thanks for contacting us about your order. We’ve carefully reviewed your case and our records confirm that the package you have sent us does not contain the device, therefore we have not processed the refund.
As a next step, you may consider initiating an investigation with the carrier or notify local law enforcement. We’ll be happy to assist in an investigation.
The more I think about this, it's a straight up UPS claim and you will not have much if any trouble getting UPS to pay up.
How did you purchase the phone? All debit and credit cards with Visa/MasterCard on them have protection built in. Contact your card provider. It does not matter if you paid it off. Hopefully you have the UPS tracking # too as they are likely the ones that your card or Google is going to go after, after the fact as all shipments have insurance on them.

I have two credits link to google as well as paypal. Now i think just one credit as the limit on it was increased so there was no need for another but at the time of purchases ive had two.
I don't know why the credit card is liable for this. I know, i know get my money anyway... who cares where it comes from but now the more i got to sleep on it the more im bothered by the fact i got owned and less by the money. No im not rich, i want the money but its hard to explain. All i know it bothers allot.
I just dunno anymore, lost a bit. again, friday i found out from google they couldnt find the device and now its monday. Less im bothered by the money more im bothered by the scam or mistake someones made. stings.

Not yet, ive been so so busy. still am but hopefully im going to call google later on today. see whats up and then call UPS and try to file a claim.
The more i read their email (google). I posted on the first page. The more i understand that they asked me to contact my carrier, meaning not google but my cell phone carrier. WTF, how is carrier responsible. And Police im guessing which is again nor here or there but hey if i need to ill go to authorities.
My priority as of now and im not so upset anymore is
Call google and find out
Did they get my package (the box)
When they opened, what was in the box?
One item (stand) or two Items( phone and the stand) or non? As they were not clean in the email and even refund for the stand didnt come in.
More importantly. UPS store told me USP will charge them for package weight. So how heavy was the box? So if the box was 6 pounds (3 pounds for phone and 3 for a stand) and they received the box and it was light as nothing was in there, wouldnt that hit red flags automatically? Light box, when opened nothing in it, yet it says its 6 pounds. UPS wtf, where are items. or am i wrong?
Unless google doesnt weigh the products then by that definition they should be liable in my mind, as UPS can be sending empty boxes non stop and google can tell customers fuk off, u sent us nothing. You know what i mean.
So that info is going to be crucial for me, If i can get someone on the line who can actually provide me something instead of looking at the screen reading what it says there and saying "sorry" every two min.
I'll keep you all updated, thank you for the support.

Moisture in charging port fault

Was very unlucky to receive this notification - device did not come into contact with any water/moisture. After a few days, I took the item to a Samsung store last Saturday, and they confirmed the fault. Due to being within the 28 days, a simple exchange was mooted.....However, I had to send the phone back first! It was collected on the following Monday, and as of today (Friday), no word had been sent back to me.
Several phone calls later I have been told that due to no stock, I have to wait until the 20th Sept to receive a replacement device!!!! The online Samsung UK store states low stock, but not Out of Stock. for both 10+ 5G Aura Glow and Aura Black 512Gb
I had to buy a cheap-ass A10 to tide me over as I traded in a Note 8 for the Note 10+ so I am out of pocket in both time and money.
Hope this doesn't happen to any of you folks! Not at all happy with this exchange process. Terrible and totally unacceptable. I even had to ask several times that they send me an email stating all of this. Looking to write a letter of complaint, no idea if it will do anything.

It's a saying. Those of us in the "First World" or more affluent countries, complain about not having the best of everything, especially phones it seems, while those in the third world countries are scraping by for food and necessities.
So he was basically admitting he shouldn't complain about having to use a low end phone, because he's blessed enough to live in a first world country.
I was plagued by this "moisture" error in two of my Note 8 phones. Horrible. Never even splashed the phones and both behaved the same. Sent one in for warranty and they replaced something and it stopped (including new back glass for some reason, even if it was not damaged).
