Notification Light Location? - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

I noticed that on the Google Store page for the Pixel phones, they list under specifications that these phone have a RGB notification light.
I see a hole on the top left corner of on the front but I assumed that is the FF camera and thought the hole under the earpiece was just sensors.
Anyone know where the location of the notification light is? I haven't seen it in action on any videos or pictures.

It's under the top speaker grill.
It was discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/how-to/pixel-xl-notification-light-t3474172

Front Camara Distorted Colors (Outgoing Video in Google Duo)

I noticed that often my video appears with distorted colors (as visible to the other side) when using Google Duo with front camera. The effect is temporarily and goes away after i wave hand at front camera or touch the camera lens. This only happens in Duo and not in any other video apps.
Any idea what might be cauising this ideas if this is related to Duo only (does not happen on my other phone) or if it is even related to OP3?

Proximity sensor emits IR always

I recently find out that my S9 keep emitting IR from the proximity sensor, is that normal or it's something not right happening on my phone.
P/s: I did some Google and found out that S9 has 2 proximity sensors, but why it has to be two of them but not one like other phones?
Also the IR led on the video below can only be seen via a surveillance camera, not via other phone's camera.

I have CCTV on my house and at night when people walk past using their phone you can see the same thing, probably for the "Block accidental touches in a dark place", as the screen off when making a call 'should' only activate the IR when you are on a call
Also if you are playing a voice message on WhatsApp and put your hand too close the to proximity sensor it stops the playback
Phone camera as an IR block filter to filter out IR, although you can still see TV Remotes IR with it
Thank you for your comment, but event when I turn that function off, the IR still blinking.
I know I may just being over-thinking but it's bugging me still.
Even though I could not see it blinks but I still know it's blinking always without any explanation.
Easy screen turn on
I finally know the reason why.
It's the "Easy screen turn on" feature that keep the proximity sensor emitting IR.
Once turn it off, the sensor no longer emits IR.

Strange mechanical vibrating noise from rear camera cluster and now major light glare

I was using my phone to browse a web page then put it down, I suddenly heard some strange mechanical whirring noise, I thought I had left the screen on and the sound was coming from a web page but the screen was off, I unlocked it and toggled media volume, no difference, I could hear the audible sound that you would hear when toggling sound. I put my hand over the rear camera cluster and could feel a slight vibration so opened up the camera app and the sound immediately stopped.
Now whenever I open the camera, there is a huge light glare problem that would look great in Star Trek movies, but not for me! It just seemed to cause this problem all by itself, there is no dirt or oil on the rear cluster and there's no crack etc. this all just suddenly happened when that noise came about when I put it down on my sofa...
A visit to the nearest service centre. Sounds like a mechanical problem.

Normally the sensor moves freely until camera app is opened or used because of the mechanical stabilization. Here would be great to see more examples but if you experience these glares all the time, you should book a service appointment.

Question Bottom left speaker doesn't work?

Hi all,
Has anyone else noticed that no audio comes out of the left hand speaker next to the charging port? I'm curious if this is just me or if the speaker is fake and the grill is just there for symmetry.
Thanks!
I think that's the microphone

That graphic is incomplete. On top of the flash is another microphone and to the left of the flash between the telephoto is something else.

Question How do phones use the Camera to adjust Brightness automatically?

How exactly do Lighting-Condition-Checks for Auto-Brightness work on bezelless phones?
I assume activating the Camera must use a substantial amount of battery.
On the Poco F3 there is a sensor on the right side of the ear speaker above the camera.
when you look closely you can see that only the left side ist the speaker for calls.
you also can test the sensor with a sensor testing app, there are a lot of them on the Play Store and on F-Droid.
